Britannia hotels have a bad reputation but decided to give them a whirl! Check in went smoothly, even was asked if I needed airport transfers before I asked during check in. Asked for smoking room as I smoke, room was very clean throughout although a little dated. One could tell you were in the smoking wing without it being overwhelming with cigarette smoke. Supper ordered from the bar was beautiful! Piping hot and super filling, portion size was marvellous for the price. Sorry i ate the burger and forgot to take a photo! Staff on desk, bar and cleaning were all very pleasant and helpful. Bed super comfy, firm without being uncomfortable, spare pillows provided as well an spare thin blanket for warmer nights. All round a comfortable room! Hallway a little noisy due to older doors and fixtures on other rooms but not unbearable. Great for cheap one night stay.

Perfect hotel for a short stay before an early morning flight. Read lots of scary reviews but it has improved a lot and would recommend it. A taxi transfer can be arranged at reception easily only £10 . Warm rooms central heating on.

This is a budget hotel which is reflected in the price. It seems to have been upgraded and re moddled since we were here last new carpets and decorating. The restaurant food was okay set in smart decor. The long stay car park is another matter, the spaces seem smaller than usual and seem in short supply. Overall not bad and handy for the airport.

I paid £38 for my room which was lovely and clean and well equipped. Checking in and out was faultless and quick. I booked the shuttle bus for the airport the next morning which was £10. It turned up earlier than 8 am so I had lots of time to get on the bus. I was the only one on the bus and the driver who was called Dave charged my phone for me and we had a lovely conversation and he dropped me off at the door of terminal 3. If you need to get to the airport then I would book this bus service. My only things were some people may find the bed a bit hard but I didn't and although there are lots of parking spaces, I think they could use more

I was really impressed with the rooms, I was looking for a quick sleep over because I was picking up family returning on a 4am flight. This hotel was easy to find, only minutes from the airport & had parking facilities. I booked a single room & was surprised to find it was a small double room with ensuite. The staff at the desk were very pleasant, smiling & helpful. The bed was comfortable & the room was clean. Unfortunately it was a hot night so my window was open and the traffic (for me) was very loud, so I didn't sleep terribly well, but the hotel itself was quiet, no slamming doors etc. My only bugbear was the parking, I have an 8 seater vehicle with quite a long wheelbase, and parking was a bit of a problem, it took a fair bit of maneuvering to finally get into a spot, so I'd suggest any guests try to arrive early but, apart from that, the hotel was perfect for my needs & I'd certainly use them again.

A run down, depressing place. The lift was smelly and the room dingey. Fortunately only there for a few hours sleep before an early flight. Advertised as an airport Hotel but 3 miles away??? The only good things I can find to say is that, the Fish and Chips we had in the restaurant and the waitress who served us were both lovely. A very poor start to our holiday. Our first and definitely last visit!!!

I read the reviews and arrived with doubts. My room was fine, security was fine, staff were helpful. Overall, pleasantly surprised. (And there are some nice eateries within 10 minutes walk).

If you only need 1 night and only have 50 quid...its just about okay. Its looking very tired and not very clean. The room wall lights are old external garden wall lights and really show the dust. The positive was the secure car park, nice touch

This is a gem of a budget hotel. So reasonable and such friendly staff. Rooms basic and very clean, all you need. Breakfast super and shuttle airport service excellent along with bar, restaurant and facilities. Don't stay anywhere else, if you are just looking for a quick overnighter. Can't be faulted in its price range.

Ok. So you do get what you pay for, cheap price for one night, don't expect the Ritz Carlton! Right next to the motorway so really easy to find and get to, but then you do get the motorway noise all night - bring earplugs if you need quiet to sleep! Lack of signage everywhere from the entrance to the hotel car park from the road, to where to go for the lifts, to minimal information in the rooms itself about the hotel. No free WiFi (obviously most important) The room we had (while passably clean) stank of cigarette smoke. Parking was available and there appeared to be CCTV all over. Tight spaces and a very low ceiling multi storey carpark. Place felt old with not much care over presentation. A few fast food places just a short walk up the road if you don't want to eat at the restaurant/bar. So, overall, for one night before flight, just passable but would probably go for one of the other slightly more expensive options next time.

For a 3 star hotel it was good. The rooms were nice and clean. The bathroom was a decent size. The only thing was the bathroom door opening by itself once you close it as there was no lock. There is no AC but you are able to open the window a tiny bit to let fresh air in. The water pressure of the shower is not the strongest. But they had a kettle with tea and coffee, desks, extra pillow and towels, soap bars, tissues and a head and shower gel. We did however have struggle finding parking as the car park was all full and the bags were right to park in.

Nice friendly staff in reception. Tired rooms with squeaky beds and tiny TV screens. Sally Assistance Hound got challenged in the restaurant and I had to produce documentation for her, despite her "loud" working dog clothing and the fact that she was staying in the hotel with me? In the end all was OK but it stresses me having to explain her and myself! The food was OK

Stayed at this hotel before and was pleasantly surprised it has had some refurbishment, still needs more work in some bedrooms and showers that are adjustable not fixed into the wall ..all staff were very hard working and pleasant..obviously with it been a airport hotel it is very busy

A good hotel with a good parking facility. Rooms are dated, but are decent for an overnight stay. Good connectivity to the airport. Good Bar and restaurant. You have a paid airport shuttle service that runs regularly like every 15 mins. But you are better off with a pre-booked taxi if you have a lot of luggages and/ or travelling as a family.

We booked a twin room via hotel .com when we tried to arrange airport transfers go no help. Even when l contacted the online chat line they too tried to contact the hotel, but also had no reply. We had to make our own way to the hotel from airport. Not a good first time customer experience.

It was great stay one night to get a flight from manchester airport. Room was ok at reasonable price. There was one confusion regarding checkout time. My booking says 11 but hotel knocked me after 10. They did not charge me for this.

Not too bad . Rooms dated and old school not the best . Do have smart tvs though . The bar is nice enough . Receptions staff decent . For a budget hotel cant really complain it serves its perpous .

I was pleasantly surprised by the hotel for the price. For less than £40 for a Sunday night, it was clean and had a proper kettle. Obviously the person stocking the tea tray is a tea drinker as the coffee was abismal 🤣 but a good number of milk portions so that was a win. The bed was clean but FIRM. Not great for me but others may appreciate it. Parking was tight on spaces but we did find one. Close to spire Manchester.

Ive stayed here a few times now and I have been happy with my experience each time. Rooms are a bit dated but they are still worth the price. Staff always friendly and very well located for the airport. Doesn't really have any public transport nearby but taxis and uber from the hotel to Manchester City centre are very reasonably priced.

  • 3/5 Carol T. 7 months ago on Google
The rooms clean but not exceptional. Service at bar abysmal. Not enough staff so long queues to get a drink. Nowhere near to go somewhere else for a drink . Breakfast buffet was good though.

Stayed overnight for an early flight the following morning & parked the car there for 1 week. BE WARNED!! Parking spaces are very tight & there aren't that many. We arrived approx 9.15pm and had to squeeze our car into an unallocated space. On our return a week later, our car had been dented & white paint from another vehicle was scraped all down one side. Don't know if there are cameras in this car park. Rooms are basic but beds are reasonably comfortable. EXCELLENT shuttle service to Terminal 2 with very easy procedure/timetable to follow. Same on return.

Rooms very basic but comfortable, was moved from one room to another swiftly due to issues with original room, Liam the maintenence man was extremely helpful with this. Lovely bar area which served good reasonably priced food Great location and dog friendly which was a huge bonus. All in all a very pleasant stay.

Ok for an airport hotel. Very close to the airport 10 mins to terminal 3 in shuttle or taxi. The parking is very tight on site. The reception staff are very helpful. The restaurant food was just about passable, but the service was very slow, only 2 waiters. We were initially told we would have to wait when the restaurant was practically empty, until they realised we had prepaid for our meal. The rooms are ok. We had a double and single bed in our room. The smallest shower head in the world above the bath!

Arrived at 6pm as had early flight next morning. Rooms dated, but good for the price. Couldn't fill kettle as a sign stated you could not drink the tap water. Got some from the bar downstairs. Mould in bathroom, bed not comfortable. Location great for airport. Would not use again. We were served by a great bartender who made us welcome, he was the best thing about this hotel.

It is a very old hotel with poor infrastructure. It is really cold during winter and there is no network connection for most of the UK sim providers. They utilise this by offering internet for £7 per day. Also it is very difficult to get out once you parked, since the parking lane is too narrow. Good luck with scratches on your car door.

We stayed here on a park & fly deal, 1x night's stay for £88 complete with 8x days parking, the pre-booked 3x course meal for two for £30 as we had booked a week away flying out of Manchester airport, good location with transfers to & from the airport for the two of us for an extra £28 return. The hotel & rooms are dated but clean, the parking was a little crazy, as they are small parking spaces & some owners had left their cars parked at awkward angles, so drive about to make sure you are happy with your chosen space, the parking is by ANPR so again make sure you type in your registration correctly at reception & don't overstay your allotted days/night's... The food was good & definitely worth the £15 each, they sold most drinks at the bar including tea & coffee's & the prices weren't too bad, all the staff we interacted with were friendly & polite.. The transfers were quick & the drivers were chatty & helped everyone in & out the minibus, along with loading the cases/bags into the cargo area. I would definitely use this hotel again! 👍🏻

Basic hotel and ok for an overnight. Rooms clean. Family of three and one towel, quite poor. Check in was tricky and reception staff didn’t seem that pleasant. On a positive the breakfast was really good and the staff there were great. You can here everything from other rooms .

Rooms were clean and the bed very comfortable. The tea making facilities in the bedroom were excellent. Hot water temperature in the shower was perfect. Towels and bath mat all provided which was great. TV worked. Nice chairs and table in room. Breakfast was also excellent . The lobby and lounge/ breakfast restaurant was very cosy and welcoming. Great atmosphere. Overall a very good experience. The only issues we had were: we couldn't find parking for our large vehicle in the hotel car park so we had to park in the street opposite. People were noisy outside our bedroom at around 1am in the morning which was very inconsiderate and rude. I would like to see more signage around the hotel to remind people to be mindful of others trying to sleep. People should remember that although they may be on holiday, they should still be respectful of their neighbours.

Excellent location but disappointed with the beds. Lying down on mattress you can feel the bases through and felt wooden bar right on my hip/thigh. In agony for 2 night. To top it all the carpark has small bays anyone with a medium SUV or larger are struggling to park and get out of the vehicles as inches between the next bay. To add to this the hotel does a stay and fly service for 8or 15 days meaning many vehicles parked stationary for long time. When there over 300 rooms in the hotel but not enough bays for all the rooms in the first place. Those who come in late are stuck and if you park on double lines you get wheel clamped £100 fine.

The rooms were clean and decent enough but there is no air conditioning and my room was about 50' from a 6-lane road. It was hot, there was no air, it was very very noisy, and I was unable to sleep at all. The staff were indifferent to our presence at best, not particularly friendly. There are not enough parking places for the amount of rooms and there is nowhere else to park so good luck if you get there late. I didn't eat there so I can't talk about the food, but this was a night of hell, which to be fair was foreshadowed by the first part of the hotel name. The only remotely good thing about this place is that it is easy to get to the airport, but I'd rather sleep in a tent next time.

If you’re looking for a relaxing stay look else where! Absolutely ridiculous company. Looks nice when your inside. I was supposed to have a travel cot in my room when I got there. Was it there? No. When I went to reception before going to shop I asked. “One will be sent up right away” was it? No. Went down a third time and they sent one up. Ask for a duvet so my toddler wasn’t laid on the hard mat and he said there is some in the wardrobe. There was a pillow and a thin blanket. The cot won’t go up so I go to them a fourth time having to drag my two kids downstairs in their pyjamas a second time because they do not answer the phone and they give me one and a thin sheet get it upstairs and it’s broken. Ridiculous company, wouldn’t recommend them to my worst enemy.

Terrible, staff when checking in were brilliant and welcoming. Night staff were a whole different story. 3 brothers 25, 22 and 17 years old and we being told at half 1 in the morning that our 17 year old brother wasn’t allowed stay unless he was occupied by a parent. Searching all hours in the morning just for bed after this, have spoken to quite a few people in the industry and they have never heard of this rule before. Would not recommend to anyone!!

Recently stayed here for 3 nights. Was on a coach tour. Not a great location, beside motorway and very few shops etc around. Beds were clean but place needed a good clean. Couldn't see out windows for dirt. Room bin wasn't emptied during stay and had to ask for extra teabags, only 2 provided. Curtains were hanging of rail.the buffet breakfast and dinner were terrible. Constantly running out of cutlery, tables not getting cleared. What staff they did have were pleasant but overworked. Wouldn't stay again

Very professional service. Competitive food service. Good price. Shuttle bus to airport a bonus. Only point against - mattress far too hard. Perhaps invest in mattress toppers. I was in discomfort all night.

Only stayed 1 night prior to a flight and staying here gave us 2 weeks parking which was cheaper than paying for 2 weeks parking elsewhere. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Shower was a bit disappointing. Food was very good.

  • 1/5 Jorge C. 1 year ago on Google
The place looks like a casino, the service is subpar. The bathroom didn’t have shampoo nor soap, and when I went to ask the front desk they just looked at me as if I was asking for gold and it was a great effort and a favor to get me some. The bathroom is just dirty. I took a shower and I felt dirtier when I came out. There is some disgusting grime behind the toilet, which leads me to believe they barely clean the place in between guests. Don’t be fooled by the location. They offer a shuttle to the airport for the “modest” price of £10 per person. No Uber wants to pick you up here either. I stayed in this hotel so I could wait for my flight the next day, but I advice you to heavily consider sleeping in the airport. It will be cleaner to sleep on the floor than inside Britannia hotel.

  • 4/5 Maria U. 1 year ago on Google
Very convenient for the airport. Welcome with a smile and everyone was very nice. Very Easy to find. Rooms were clean and heating was on full blast so very nice after the long drive. Nice breakfast too. 2 things that need improving: 1) Parking is a nightmare! Spaces are tight and few ppl just parked along the walls making it almost impossible to come out. 2) the floor in the breakfast area need a scrub! Its so sticky that My shoe got stuck to the floor and tripped me over. Positive experience and would definitely stay here when flying from Manchester again x

Don't know why there's bad reviews, felt like inside was done up as a lot nicer than pics? Reasonable priced drinks at the bar we had a twin room and was fine, booked a package deal with a concert and got dinner and breakfast both buffets and the food was lovely! Staff were fine if I was travelling to Manchester I would book here

  • 1/5 Aziz A. 1 year ago on Google
Unprofessional house manger (Emanuel) and some other front-disk employees. I booked for a single-bed room and the house manager tried to give me a twin-bed room instead. He tried to sale it for me by telling me I booked for a twin-bed room and/or something like that and convince it to me rudely while I wasn’t rude to him or anybody else. He seemed to try telling me they didn’t provide single-bed rooms by itself in the hotel. So, I kept asking him several times if they didn’t provide single-bed rooms by itself in the hotel because he didn’t seem to want to answer my question easily and insisted to give me the twin-bed room. He said that if there was no single-bed room automatically I’d get a twin-bed room instead. I showed him a proof of my booking for a single-bed room and a policy from the booking website stated that I’d not be able to have any additional person other than myself in my single-bed room booking which destroyed his story about selling me the twin-bed room. Specifically, there was an option by itself to book for a twin-bed room in the booking system for the hotel. Though, he still insisted to give me the twin-bed room unprofessionally. So, I canceled the booking. That wasn’t acceptable and appreciated at all especially because the house manager treated me unfairly, rudely, and differently than other customers and/or was discriminating me.

Absolutely terrible. Staff rude held our room key to ransom over £10 parking which they messed up even when we proved we paid for parking and how much we were charged they still told us we had to pay the extra! There customer service is diabolical. The food in the restaurant is awful tasteless and cold. The only member of staff that was nice was the lady on reception in the restaurant. My son and his girlfriend's room full of mould. Both rooms way too hot couldn't sleep due to this. Do not stay at this hotel!

Very dated building. Needs TLC. Location is excellent, next to Manchester Airport. Pricing is good for the location but like I said needs to improve alot. We missed our flights so needed 2 rooms for the night. Our family rooms were attached, which was good but decor was dated and mattresses need replaced. Bed was very uncomfortable. Did have its own car park which was also very handy. Hopefully I won't ever miss a flight again.

We stayed at this hotel on the way to Malta. There was just my son and I and we really didn't care about the quality of the hotel. We were more concerned that it was cheap. We were only there for one night and arrived late at night and had to be leaving early in the morning. It was an ideal stop off. The quality was a little like a Premier Inn only not quite as good. It was brilliant for one night but I would not want to stay there for a week.

  • 2/5 jamie f. 1 year ago on Google
This was only a room to book near the airport for a flight the next day but I will not come back here. Parking was so tight and with people extremely poor parking my car ended up with red paint on the door (mines blue) where some clown has just given little care about others property and they should have parked within the white lines to start with. Inside the hotel it felt like a moody prison and the clients or locals using the bar were some you'd want to avoid or ensure your pockets are zipped up. The rooms were just as bad. Could hear everything through the thin walls, pipes were banging throughout the night so take some ear plugs if you do stay here (unless you can sleep through a construction site)

Good price with parking for two weeks and evening meal. Room was a good size but could have been cleaner. Meal was ok and the service was good. Lot of traffic noise if you left the window open. I would definitely use again when flying from Manchester.

A fair raport of price vs quality. The hotel has a good location and a good stuff team. Congratulations to the stuff members for doing all their best to keep this hotel alive. Clean rooms and corridors. The hotel has the options of a breakfast and also very important for tourists it the options for transfer to all the terminals in the airport by a small buss.

Our room was spotlessly clean and quiet. The seating in the bar area could be a little more comfortable but it is adequate. The menu is very basic and the lasagna which I had resembled something from a supermarket 'basic' range, hardly any meat and too much oily cheese sauce.

  • 4/5 Melissa D. 1 year ago on Google
Idea for where we needed to be. The room was basic but it served its purpose. Service was good especially at dinner the lady was lovely. Bed was comfy, bathroom was nice but a little small. Carpets a little dated. Downside it's cashless so had to use card for everything.

Have to give one star had given 0 of there was an option to. Nightmare to stay in this hotel. Rude and racist staff unprofessional unfriendly and inhuman attitude. I stayed last night had high blood pressure and increased heart rate. The staff started knocking at the door early in the morning didn't let me sleep on complaint the refused to give me further booking.wanted to rush to hospital for an immediate medical attention but the staff at the reception and the so called manager refused to let me go without confrontation and instead of my medical condition had to carry my heavy luggage and load into a taxi myself. So rude pathetic and inhuman attitude. So all families and individuals stay away from this shi** place.

For the budget price I paid, I was pleasantly surprised. Room had minor cosmetic imperfections- few cracked bathroom tiles. But the room was very clean and bed comfy enough for one night. Car park is very difficult to manoeuvre around though. Especially in the dark and all the spaces are tiny

  • 2/5 Rosa O. 11 months ago on Google
Room was pleasant enough but we were conned into ordering breakfast which wasn't included then the breakfast waitress accused me of trying to get it for free. This was literally 10 minutes after we'd given our room number and handed over the breakfast voucher to her! It was done in front of other guests and totally spoiled my stay here. The parking is very sparse too. Won't be going back.

  • 1/5 DRUT C. 1 year ago on Google
A valuable trouser have been forgotten in the room. Came back as soon as I left the hotel to get it back but of course it was nowhere to be found........... Also men staff are not professional at all and have no idea what customer relation is. Guys you're at work, not arguing with your mates... Do not work in a hotel if you have no idea what hospitality is. I own an hospitality business and to see a such low level of standards, even for the price paid, is miserable.
