Easy to get to free parking over at the cinema. Plenty of outdoor seating on the converted carpark. Great beer and tasty food. - we had the curry and all day brunch. Ordered quickly through the app. Cheerful staff.

Great spoons. Great beers. Great staff, Adele the manager is very professional, as are, all her team. Especially, when in the face of young and often drunk customers.

Since a change in management this place has taken a nosedive. I’ve been to eat 3 times and been disappointed every time & this is why… - breakfast; we were told they had run out of sausage. There are several supermarkets selling sausages nearby, could they not send staff out to get some and when I suggested this the staff just laughed at me but did add an extra rasher. It came with a thimble size portion of beans and one very soggy mushroom. Very poor ! Afternoon - ordered meal and told “no chips as fryer broken” Evening - ordered chicken burger and it tasted disgusting like disinfectant, staff not that interested in a refund & reluctantly replaced the burger I know it’s cheap booze that will always attract pub goers but in future I would avoid the food

Chicken burger was hot and delicious but not many chips at all, compared to other Spoons!!

We enjoyed breakfast in the comfortable restaurant which is at the convenient location in Stockport. The breakfast came with soft muffin, bacon and sausage as well as free refill drink. Good deal!

The food in here is great! When you first arrive it’s hard to park since you have to cross the busy road but not too much pain. The food is amazing and I would highly recommend. Track and trace is used effectively. The refillable coffee is amazing too 😊

Food, staff were great and the toilets were very clean. Pub itself looks quite dated but being in an old building it suited. Decent location and carpark

Thoroughly recommend this place... Driving around looking for a coupla restaurants that have now shut down so we just pulled in here as we were hungry but the food and service were great. A full menu with lots to choose from, friendly quick service, plenty of staff on so they weren't rushed off their feet as many places seem to do that now. Big pub so you're not on top of each other too like these new places are now. We really enjoyed it. I got a pasta dish as I'd fancied Italian, my mate got fish n chips, her all-time favourite and my Grandson had a burger so all 3 of us got what we wanted in a lovely warm inviting pub. We'll definitely be back, don't change a thing 👌

Lovely well positioned pub in East Didsbury which we've been going to for many years. Very popular amongst locals. Staff are very efficient and friendly. Great deals typical of the chain. Free refills of hot drinks a bonus😁. The toilets are very, very clean. The only niggle is that lately we've had smaller portions and the fried eggs were a bit rubbery....but that won't stop us going back!!

Was a great sunny day out, for a long canal walk within the Didsbury area with a good banking contact plus friend. The Gateway proved the perfect venue for us to enjoy an excellent late "outdoor sunny lunch" alongside trying out three of Gateway's different coffees! All most enjoyable Great crowd. Great service. Will be back. Happy Days! Had great fish and chips alongside a lovely mocha coffee. Both excellent plus great value.

Service is still great . Staff are great . Mixed grill can't be being made by the same person. As it's really not as good as it used to be . Mixed grill was is longer top notch now missing the eggs . Lamb was a hunk of grissle. Desert was good . 3 sols for a fiver with lime excellent . But no lime when I reordered bit weird. Great pub . Great staff . Recommend it, Best pub/ dinner in South Manchester would be 5 stars but the foods not as good as it used to be.

I went for coffee at breakfast time. I don't recall going to this branch of 'Spoons before, fairly sure I haven't. The staff were pleasant. It was fairly early in the morning, so I wasn't expecting much of an atmosphere. Unusually, I wasn't really up for looking at the wall prints that usually tell the history of the pub and the locality. Breakfast was the traditional breakfast. It was ok.

Wetherspoon serves a variety of tasty dishes, including pizza, an all-day breakfast, pasta, fish and chips, and even Indian cuisine. They have many branches all across the UK, each with unique and interesting interior designs. The best part is that the prices for their food and drinks are reasonable, and the food is really delicious 😝. Why did we order two pizzas? Well, that's because we made a little ordering mistake 😱😝. By the way, the Indian food was a pleasant surprise 👍😀. more photos at IG/FB: @crazykidsmamashopping

This was a fantastic pub to go drinking at, with a stylishly presented counter! The decorations are pretty and have a historic vibe, staff were friendly and seating is comfortable. I had a refreshing pint of Stella Artois followed by a quality Despardos, cleanliness had been maintained too!

Came today for lunch with my mother in law. My mother In law had pudding chips peas and gravy and she absolutely loved it. I had a chicken burger and chips it was nice but the chicken burger was frozen and wasn’t the best burger I’ve had but wasn’t the worst. I would definitly return however would pick something different off the menu next time

One of the best 'Spoons in Manchester and I've been to few. Excellent choice of ale and always good quality. Not had a bad pint in there and I like to try a lit of different beers. All in all, very well worth a visit

Went for a Sunday evening meal after ordering and paying at the bar, waited for over an hour for food to be brought to the table, this was after twice asking if we had been forgotten about.. probably the last time we will visit this establishment.. there’s an excellent carvery in the complex across the road

Absolutely disgusting 🤢 waited 20 minutes for table service drinks, and even longer for food. The burger was freezing cold the onion rings were cold the chips ( what little there were were of them )were cold. This place needs new management and new staff. The tables are filthy the staff are rude and have no customer service skills. I told a girl server my food was freezing and she walked away. Absolutely disgusting behaviour and Mr Wetherspoon needs to sort his business out and stop employing idiots. There are a few nice Wetherspoons but this one is absolutely awful, would’ve given a minus if possible HORRIBLE

  • 3/5 S M. 7 months ago on Google
Standard Wetherspoon, food is OK, service could be better. Stocks seem to run out on a regular basis, and choice of beer isn't great. Low prices. Large pub with good outside sitting area.

Nice, lively pub. We went for food at popular time so was hard to find a seat, but eventually found one. Staff were friendly. Prices are good. Table was sticky and so was the chairs. Although pub itself did look clean. Food was lovely when it came. Child was missing a chicken nugget but that was all with the food. Would try again as food was really good and pretty quick :) Car park is tiny and rac van was blocking entrance, but there's a massive car park across the road.

The food is good what you would expect from a spoons however the kids meal was terrible. Microwave heated burned nuggets and chips mushy beans. Sent it back second try was better

One of the best pubs around in Manchester. Staff are super kind and along with the customers a calm atmosphere is created where one can feel good and even work or study.

Came for a meal with my boyfriend, and to have a drink, although I’m 20+ and had shown ID she continued to make a scene and make us very uncomfortable, the people around also noticed this situation was wrong. Stayed polite towards her and she was very rude- Adele was the manager she should not be working here- very unprofessional - ruined the experience

We got off to a good start by sitting outside in the sun but before too long we had to dash inside to avoid a downpour. Our food that we'd eaten before the storm, thankfully, was very nice.

Absolutely disgusted with what we witnessed today cut along story short a man was on his own minding his own buisness having breakfast he got up and went to make a coffee mid eating for a member of staff removing his plate half eaten when he approached the staff they blatantly said he was lieing and started being very abrupt towards this man saying his plate was empty my husband told the lady that there was still food on the plate for her to be raising her voice to my husband then she walked away shouting that the whole thing was laughable and was saying all this for an egg I think she was so disgusting in her attitude and customer service I would like to point out her name but didn’t get it I think the management need to have a serious word because I can see a lot of people avoiding this place she was a mixed race or Asian and to point out I’m not racist as that would be what was fired at me I just think that poor man was so embarrassed 😞

Really busy and just managed to get a table. I had a chicken salad for my dinner. Refills on a lot of drinks, I had about 4 cups of tea since I was driving, and it was freezing and raining outside. The app didn't work well so I ended up ordering at the bar.

  • 2/5 Graham M. 1 year ago on Google
I guess it is just a spoons so didn't have high hopes but waited 30 mins for food before we had to ask where it was and then they immediately brought it over. They also forgot most of what I'd ordered. Had to leave as had a booking for bowling so just accepted I wasn't getting the onion rings I paid for.

Great meal out at lunch today. Staff really friendly and helpful. Great quality food. Pizzas were excellent value. Male staff member politely asked if there was anyone in the Ladies before he did the loo check so as not to embarras any women in there. Nice to see such concern and respect. Really great pub.

👍👍 I was craving curry during my stay in Manchester. And Google suggested this place to me. It's in the centre, almost 6 minutes away from my hotel. The interior design is very hip and it has a great vibe. The music that is being played is modern. The curry was amazing. And the prices were perfect for...
