Nice classic pub with cozy interior and a couple of outdoor seating areas on the upper floors. Beer selection was great and prices very reasonable.

First time visiting since reopening, and we were not disappointed. The layout is basically the same with the quirky pew like seating on one of the walls. The staff seemed a little uncertain of where things were and if they stocked certain items such as Ginger beer or certain types of wine but they persisted and were helpful. We put this down to new staff following the re opening. Nice atmosphere and pleasant decor, all in all a nice experience. Handy for the metro as not far from Deansgate/Castlefield. Went there tonight at about 5.15 and found it very quiet and got a seat for a change, which was nice. Met a gentleman from Ireland who was a rugby fan and he was having a great time also. Went back today to meet some friends, and the pub was still popular, with prompt service.

So glad to see the pub reopen after a shutdown. Now a Greene King pub but same layout. Boothroyd remembers the upstairs roof terraces (two) for summer drinks. (Sadly it is January.) Surprisingly large pub with three floors and 2 bars. Taylor's Landlord is the guest ale. GK IPA and a GK house bitter. .. not one I want again. Should have had Landlord says Booth. So he did next round. Missed out on asking for my CAMRA discount first round. Sunday lunch £16 beef / £15 chicken. £13 for daily pie, burgers £13.50 etc. 3xpub plates £15. Happy the pub is back.

A great time spent here with friends. Quick service, friendly staff, clean. Everything a decent and proper pub should be. Well done. A firm favourite.

Good atmosphere. Fantastic service. But the food is absolutely horrible. We took 3 small plates for 16£ . Prawn and chorizo plate was particularly funny. It had one mini sausage cut into tiny pieces and about 8 prawn size of thumbnail. I have never ever seen prawn that small. Plate also had burned to the black toast. Sausage rolls tasted like they been made from paper mixed with fat. Fish goujons were slightly more edible but had deep brown gray colour butter. Yes we ate it because we had to have something before going to concert around the corner and there was no other choice. But I don't think I ever had food that bad in pub. However saying all that definitely recommend for drink but stay away from food

nice new pub to go in, its really affordable and all staff were polite. There's 3 floors where you can sit and the terraces have a beautiful view of the city. I can't wait for my next visit

The refit that this great pub deserved. I was thoroughly upset when I thought The Deansgate had switched its famous outdoor string lights off for good, seeing it boarded up. But it was a breath of fresh air to see it completely refurbished to a high standard. This really opens up this side of Deansgate and makes it an attractive place to eat and drink. Inside, the place is roomy and modern, with a hint if heritage. The newly painted green walls, ceilings along with new light fittings are a masterpiece and a striking. There’s three floors to choose from, as well as two outdoor terraces- perfect for summer. And of course, a wide selection of beers. There’s only a tiny niggle for me, sometimes the bar staff lack a bit if confidence in pulling pints, and can often pour pints with no/little head. But this of course can be sorted easily!

I’m so pleased The Deansgate has been renovated and has reopened! As one of my local pubs, I’m delighted with the transformation of the seemingly endless floors of The Deansgate. I’m especially glad that the refurbishment has kept the original seating downstairs overlooking the bar. Those little dividers along the seats must be years and years old and the refurbishment made me anxious that they would be ripped out. Thankfully not! I’ve visited The Deansgate for both food and drinks. Food was lovely - I went for the Scampi & Chips: Breaded Whitby scampi, thick-cut chips and tartare sauce with mushy or garden peas (£11.99). My friend opted for the Grilled Cheese Toastie: A medley of mature Cheddar, Gouda and Emmental on crisp sourdough. We both enjoyed our food and surprised at the size of the grilled cheese toastie - it was huge! Always a lovely welcoming atmosphere and always nice and warm to escape the cold weather! P.S love the twinkly lights outside!

What a great pub! A nice traditional pub with a great range of pints, friendly staff and the prices were very reasonable. I highly recommend The Deansgate and I look forward to visiting again upon my return to Manchester

Fantastic pub! Been going here since it reopened in November, always a great atmosphere and the food is top-notch! Prices are also reasonable for a city centre pub too. I'd definitely recommend!

Dropped in for a pint after work. New to working I'm Manchester found this and it's really good cozy pub. Traditional feel.plenty of good options for ale. Well placed. Will be coming back soon!

Lovely, traditional interior...excellent city pub. Draught ale at £3.90. which is excellent for a pub in central Manchester. Range was disappointing though, only Greene King IPA and Deansgate beer brewed especially for the pub. Lunch food was excellent and very reasonably priced.

One of the best pubs in town! The array of people vary and everyone’s welcome with a friendly atmosphere all round. Meg behind the bar is always quick and attentive with a constant smile on her face not to mention she’s also fit and a cheeky lesbian! I have also noticed good allergies to be taken into consideration with every order! With two roof Terrance’s it’s the best space in town!

Had my retirement do here a week or two ago. There are two outside terraces, one on the first floor and one on the second. Weather was great and the company excellent. Drinks weren't as expensive as I'd feared, although they tried to charge me for a double vodka which nobody had. Food was great, while not being Michelin Star quality, obviously, it was just really good, tasty pub food, probably the best I've had.

Nice looking pub in the centre of Manchester but should stay away from the food. We were in a large group with only some of us eating, but everyone who did eat was ill the next day. We were suspicious when the food all arrived only a few minutes after ordering. It makes me think it is being made up ahead of time and sitting under a heat lamp.

Love the food, the service is great, fast and friendly, really nice atmosphere and the terraces are really nice in the sun when you want to chill out. They've got heaters too so never cold! Really nice selection of beers too, it's different on each floor which is cool !

Top proper pub in Manchester! Great atmosphere plenty of choice for drinks and loads of room. Big outdoor area too so a really good spot for a few drinks. Didn’t eat here

Service was great from the staff behind the bar. Our group were rudely asked by a bouncer to "keep the noise down" as people were eating on the terrace at the top where we were, whilst blatantly ignoring the noisy girls on the table further up. He could maybe do with some people skills. :)

Can't go wrong with a pint and an open fire on a cold day. Cosy country feeling in the middle of the city.

Great place. Good atmosphere. A good place to start your night out in Manchester.

Large pub with a reasonable range of beers at reasonable (for Manchester) prices. More of a pre-match meeting point, than a hipster joint. Which isn't a bad thing. Staff seem particularly good at ignoring customers.

Pleasant city pub, good real ales, busy when I visited early on a Tue evening. Next to Hilton hotel, other decent pubs and restaurants within easy walking distance.

A really sound traditional british boozer. Theres always a nice atmosphere at weekends in this place, usually earlier on in the night. Sadly the price of drinks prevents the 5 stars.

A very warm welcome, Sean (barman), very friendly and knowledgeable about the cask ales, and the gin varieties (Mrs very chuffed), beer was bang on, great atmosphere, would definitely recommend.

A lovely little pub with a selection of beers and spirits in a great location. It gets very busy on a weekend so hard to find somewhere to sit and there were some guys running around with their trousers round their ankles when we arrived but other than that it was great.

Lovely pub, fantastic prices and the lad on the bar tonight (26th Feb 2019) was a proper gentleman. Really friendly. We originally went somewhere else after coming in here for directions, we ended up coming back because the bar tender was so nice. Thank you

Didn’t even get past bouncer to try the pub, came as a family for a drink before going to The Wharf for a birthday meal, we had our 17 yr old with us and because he’s under 18 we weren’t allowed in even though he wouldn’t be drinking. I can understand but at time thought it was a little OTT not letting him with his parents.

Decent pub near Deansgate tram and train station. The elderly barflies are annoying who drunkenly never mind their own business.

👍👍 I was craving curry during my stay in Manchester. And Google suggested this place to me. It's in the centre, almost 6 minutes away from my hotel. The interior design is very hip and it has a great vibe. The music that is being played is modern. The curry was amazing. And the prices were perfect for...
