First time eating here and can’t wait to come back! Had the Sausage Roll & Side Salad and it was a taste sensation!! Fresh, tasty, healthy and good portions exactly what a decent lunch should be. Thank you SO much! We will be back.

Amazing vegan food!! Come here if you're in Manchester, the food is so good, freshly made and great value for money. 1 small plate, 1 large plate and a drink all for £17 - big portion sizes too! Wish we had longer in Manchester to come and try their breakfast and lunch too!

Lovely food and staff. Everything was super tasty, and the satay skewers were almost indistinguishable from chicken. My favourite thing was the bao buns. Will come back (really want to try the breakfast)

Delicious vegan food. Good portions and prices. I chose a small soup of the day and a sandwich. Very quick service. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Can definitely recommend this place for a quick lunch.

Great little cafe serving vegetarian food. Had a pulled jack fruit chilli. Very tasty. Most importantly it’s freshly cooked with only natural ingredients. There arent many eateries you could say you felt good after having a tasty meal. We went back for a cake and coffee after the meal. And they didn’t disappoint either. Highly recommend.

My second time visiting Vertigo, the first time was at the Media City, Salford Quays branch. It is a much smaller establishment than the one at Media City, and on last visits in Manchester, I have struggled to get in the door! Lucky, a quiet, early, damp Manchester Sunday, I managed to miss the crowds! Sunday Brunch Day! I ordered a coffee and the full Vertigo breakfast. Sausage, home made beans, ‘scrambled’ tofu, grilled tomato, mushrooms, hash browns, and a sourdough toast. Firstly, the coffee was one of the best I have ever had in Manchester. It was truly an excellent thing. Rich and flavoursome. Full marks. It is worth popping in just for a takeaway. In honesty, the breakfast was mildly behind that at Salford. Unseasoned, the tofu was a bit of a let down. The plate was very cold, which meant the breakfast brunch was soon cold too. Neither here nor Salford give you any spread for the dry sourdough toast. It’s a but dry on its own. It’s a personal thing, but I’d much prefer some granary over the sourdough. I just felt the Salford breakfast was generally ahead on all counts. Not by a lot, it is still excellent. But still. Service was excellent. Pleasant, friendly, polite and prompt. The biggest issue here is trying to get in! Excellent all round. Despite my nit picking!

Extremely warm inside. Lady at counter was quite pushy when I came in, it was my first time so I just wanted to look around; at the board, menu, the sandwiches, pastries, veggies.. She kept asking if it was for eat in or takeaway, when I mumbled 'eat in' (still looking around because everything looks so good) she said I can sit down and she'll bring the menu. When I sat down it took ages for someone to bring a menu. Nevertheless the menu options are great and food very tasty.

Great little place, the staff are friendly and they have great choice for lunch! The sandwich of the day was tasty but I've put a star less as the bread was very stale, and the crust inedible it was so hard. It was a good price as I got 50% off with the gov scheme but I don't think quality should be sacrificed with discount. I'd try it again if I was in the area, so I would recommend, just maybe check how fresh the bread is!

Stopped here for breakfast/brunch, hands down the best vegan breakfast we've ever had and we've been vegan for 6 years! We had the Full Breakfast and Vertigo Benedict, we were blown away! Both were absolutely delicious and fab portion sizes too. Lovely drinks too, especially the red velvet matcha would highly recommend. Staff were kind, friendly and very welcoming, you really have to try whilst your in Manchester, whether your vegan or not! They also played great 80s bangers so we were in our element, and it wasn't too loud either so we hear each other talk perfectly. Definitely will visit again when we're in Manchester again.

Amazing food! Lovely staff, good price/quality And as soon as you stand outside the restaurant the smell of food seduces you! The pancakes are from another world! Just one little thing, because of the main door not being closed properly it can get a little bit cold inside. 100% Recommended!

Vegan review: Wanted to eat here for ages after seeing the stall at Manchester’s vegan Christmas markets. I had the mac and ‘cheese’ to start which was so filling. And the chilli for main plus the passion shoot smoothie. Tried a bite of the rocky road cake - my friends all loved it. Love fully vegan eateries, I’ll be back!

Food was rather average. I'm sure I've eaten the same food at Morrisons £5 pick your own meal thingy. Staff were very lovely and nice. Menu needed updating as they didn't have certain items on the menu. Food was very bland but I'm sure it's just my taste palette. Service was very good. Food wasn't my cuppa tea unfortunately. The cake was a wee bit dry too unfortunately. Good vibes in the establishment though. Again, staff were VERY nice.

Burger was juicy and tangy sauce was lipsmacking. A relaxed little place. Moving on to the sietan dish. Yum f'ing yum. Red velvet cake next. May explode and die. But I'll die happy :)

Went today for dinner, was very excited as I had read great things about it. I ordered the food, and because it was a small and large plate - it came out separately. I had finished my dinner by time my daughters arrived. I wasn’t impressed to see the chef eating at the same time as making our dinner. He washed/sanitised his hands and then wiped it over his jeans. The waitress wore her mask over her mouth only. It could be much better. There are many vegan places in Manchester- I would suggest you research places to eat first xx

Absolutely delicious. Feels like it should be a thousand calories but somehow it’s all plants. The servers were super lovely too. I always get a warm buzz out of this place!

Ordered food from here for takeaway. Ordered Cheezeburger with sweet potato salad, just to find out that they have put cheap and disgusting chips instead of sweet potato chips. Decided to get a biscoff cake as well which was dry and as extra there was a long piece of hair. Photo attached. AVOID !!!!

Cute little vegan spot in Manchester! Limited seating but they do have wifi and daily treats. Tried the cheezburger which was great, although the brioche bun was cold. The lemon blueberry cake was very good as well. Would recommend checking this place out. They even have an evening pre-theatre special.

I went to vertigo today with my husband for my birthday and it was amazing. I've tried many different burgers but theirs is the best I've ever had. I will definitely be going again even if it's to get take out.

Had dinner at the First Street Restaurant last night. Service was good, very friendly staff. Food was promptly from the open kitchen and was delicious. Sadly we didn't have room for dessert but the cakes looked incredible. Looking forward to going back.

Good tasty portions, lovely staff, but the free lemon water it's tap water🤢, and the burger was too salty and vinegary (although thumbs up for gherkins).

An amazing food selection of food here. Unfortunately the cheeze and leek pie had sold out though. Suppose it just means I have to make another visit though. I had the soup (tomato and chilli - nice and spicy) with soda bread. The soda bread was gorgeous. Then had the Bus off cake - it was a huge slice and I almost couldn't eat it all but there was no way I was going to be defeated by cake. Staff were lovely and friendly. I only have one thing that I can say wrong about this place and that is that it was far too warm. We were all ready for some cool fresh air by the time we had finished. I have been back again but for take out and can recommend the pecan brownie too. Definitely worth a visit, so get yourselves down to Vertigo and support a plant based eatery 🌱

Staff was lovely and welcoming but the food was not nice. Dishes were soaked in coriander that made everything taste soapy. The smoothie was class though.

Drove from Blackpool after work with the other half to get burger and fries knowing its open till 8pm only to walk in at 7.30pm and being told they stopped serving food at 7pm, when we had been in the previous Saturday at 7.45pm and we were able to order the burgers then. Very disappointed. The very quiet spoken girl looked a bit sheepish when I asked why could order the other night and it says its open till 8pm.

Yum! So happy to find this place on my trip to Manchester - delicious sandwiches and falafel bowl, and the brownie was ace. Great (and really hot) coffee too. Beautiful and calm interior and super lovely staff. Couldn’t recommend enough!

Cute place, nice tableware, very tasty food, served fast and high quality. Good mix of junk and healthy options. Very good value. 👌

Not as advertised! Ordered tofu on toast which comes with cherry tomatoes. Apparently not it seems Portion size was paltry. Only one slice of toast for £7! With a bit of tofu. No cherry tomatoes! I asked where they were and the response given was "it doesn't actually come with tomatoes. I don't know why it says that on the menu". Absolute cr*p Won't be back for food. I enjoyed the coffee but the breakfast ruined the experience.

I am a regular customer. The food is nice, fresh, healthy and not loaded with sugar. Nevertheless, the service is not the best. A couple of months ago I took a friend of mine to that place as I really wanted to show him the food, but we left quite disappointed. We had to wait for 15 minutes and the restaurant wasn't even full. However, this did not stop me from returning, but service are still quite rude.

Wholesome salad bar, and the brownies looked so moist. I quite enjoyed the cold food, but the staff was probably overworked. I might come back to try something hot next time.

  • 4/5 Charlotte R. 2 years ago on Google
Really delicious vegan + gluten free dhal - I was only a bit sad because the curry was so tasty and it could have done with a little more curry and a little less rice (to be a little less carb heavy, especially for the price). Really refreshing melon smoothie. Decent coffee blend but the soya cappuccino served was more of a latte (needed more foam). Staff were attentive and helpful so thank you for that too :) (Photos taken after I tucked in because it looked so good!) Would probs be 4.5 / 5 if I could rate that!

Very nice spot for great vegan food. Portions may vary, so make sure to check before ordering. Place can be a bit cold as their door doesn't close properly. Delicious avo on toast and the kale juice is a must. Sweet place, good vibes.

Amazing food! Great to find a vegan cafe just across from my hotel! I normally struggle to find decent vegan food when I’m working away from home! Very friendly staff, great range of food! I know where I’ll be eating for the rest of my stay in Manchester 😃

Lovely little place. Really tasty food. Some unique scrummy parts of the full English, like the homemade beans and tofu eggs. The only thing that they could look to improve is the wait time, took 30 minutes to get our food but we weren't in a rush so it didn't really affect us. Will be going here again if in the area.

I had food from Vertigo today and 45 minutes later was on the toilet with Diarrhoea! This is the second time this has happened with food from here and the first time it happened I gave them the benefit of the doubt and never said anything about it! The food here is obviously being kept too long past its date and is being sold when it’s already expired or it’s not being kept correctly! Either way it’s not good and I will not be eating here again! For this to happen more than one time is worrying! Very unhappy as I will have to find another place to get my fresh vegan food!

👍👍 I was craving curry during my stay in Manchester. And Google suggested this place to me. It's in the centre, almost 6 minutes away from my hotel. The interior design is very hip and it has a great vibe. The music that is being played is modern. The curry was amazing. And the prices were perfect for...
