Great for posting letters and small parcels. Sturdy enough to survive a truck bomb

I remember the pictures of this back in the day. I was actually in town - on Oldham Street, at the time of the bombing. So this little Mancunian iconic feature, has a special meaning to me.

If you like postboxes and/or the history of Manchester in the 90s, definitely worth a visit.

Hidden bit of history. Not much to it, it's a post box. But it's kind of cool that they've put up a plaque to remember that it survived. Since you'll pass it quite often, might as well stop for a photo.

I called with my victorian penny farthing bike as I thought it was fitting as the box is also victorian as well.

An inconspicuous street infrastructure at a glance but a mark of history indeed.

Worth a look. History you can touch and use. Doesn't close on a Monday, unlike half the attractions in this city.

It’s a mailbox! And it was… in fact, undamaged.
