👍👍 We had the Full English and Manchester Rarebit. They were AMAZING! The best breakfast we have ever had, we would have paid more! I'd want to eat more but it was perfectly filling. There was a nice selection of drinks and the staff were lovely! I would 110% recommend. People often mention coffee, Manchester, staff, nice, good, service, great, order, work, friendly,

Staff is unfriendly and unprofessional. As we walk in all the tables was occupied - we ask how long approximately they said 40min. We decided to give a try and waited less than 7min. After we sit two more tables left and continues flow of new costumers. They didn’t clean the table after they sit us so during order we ask someone to clean, lady wasn’t happy for request. If you’re having busy days at work and you don’t want to work - stay at home. Some other places struggle with new costumers. 4 staff behind the till, two of them with the phones, one making coffee and one taking orders. Only one lady I must say was a bit friendlier than others. Would we go back? Definitely, Lovely cozy place, Great food, coffee tasted great. But not for the service, management really need to look at this - how staff is unfriendly. Considering how busy place is great and will be such a shame costumers stop to come because of service.

I have visited this shop 5 or 6 times when I have travelled to Manchester (the last time being last week). The coffee here is really good but have found staff attitudes to be very poor whenever I have been there (I could understand a one off as everyone has a bad day, but not every time) which I found very unwelcoming. I have found a couple of other shops nearby with equivalent or better quality coffee with friendly staff and a better atmosphere so unfortunately I won't be returning here again.

I absolutely adore this place. Favourite little cafe in the heart of Manchester, and they do make the best coffee as well!

Nice location that was clean. The staff was friendly and welcoming. Had espresso and it has a similar roast to those in the area which isn’t my favorite. If this style of roast is for you this is a great location. Very good price on the espresso. Haven’t tried any of the food but looked like it could be good to try.

Love this venue and its coffee in general. Unfortunately, coronavirus guidelines were largely ignored. No track and trace system in place, only the most casual effort at distancing (including allowing customers to just stand in the main thin walkway), and no table service or app ordering. I'll go back when this is all over. Until then, other places in Manchester do it better. Edit: they've kindly responded to my review, but not to the specific points I made about track and trace and allowing people to stand about in the main walkway.

Very poor experience. The cafe was badly ventilated and sweltering hot. The staff were unable to tell us what was available and had to go back and forth from the kitchen, only to tell us that two of the three total vegan options were unavailable. We waited over 30 minutes for THIS. It was dry, tasteless and definitely not worth the money. Would not recommend visiting here - money better spent elsewhere.

Nice place, good coffee. They serve coffee in recycled cups which are better than paper cups! The only thing is that it's a bit small and it can feel noisy when full. Music a bit too loud too so not ideal for me to stay longer, read, etc. Also, tables are quite close to each other and one can easily feel self-conscious. Been more than once, feels cosy in the winter :) Clean toilet too 🙏

If you just wanna eat something and chill then this is a pretty good place to go. But if you want to work then really this isn't the place to be. Sure you CAN work here if you want but I'm someone who spread out a bit and the tables just don't fit my requirement. Also, I don't remember them.having free WiFi but maybe that's changed idk it's been a while

What a great find. Owing to Covid, the art shop I wanted didn't open until 10:00, so, to the café opposite. Covid compliant, download the app, order at the table and wait for the friendly staff to deliver your order. Really delicious coffee and the millionaire cake is tremendous. Definitely on my list to return to.

The vibe of the place was nice, however service was very slow- took 30 min for food to arrive and staff didn’t seem attentive or particularly friendly. Had the Vegan Breakfast which was quite expensive for what it was, was way too salty and dry. Very disappointing, atleast the cappuccino was nice and there were lots of vegan options.

I ordered a oat milk cappuccino which was nice. Drinking out of a plastic cup did throw me off slightly at first. I also got the vegan breakfast. It's looks pretty but was a bit dry for my taste. There wasn't real enough sauce with the beans and the toast wasn't buttered. (I was also slightly confused by the hummus?). It was good quality ingredients just not to my taste. I would go again but order something different. If sitting in a draft bothers it isn't for you - I ended up sitting with my coat on as it was quite cold.

Great coffee, yummy cakes, nice ambience. Oldham street still feels a bit seedy (I live in a more gentrified part of Central Manchester), but F+S is a charming oasis on it. Update. Tried their toasted sandwich (cheese, fig chutney and some leaves). Delicious! A bit pricey but worth every penny.

A lovely spot between Piccadilly station and the main shopping area... a perfect stop off. We enjoyed the delicious carrot and walnut cake (I'd go back any day just for that!) and some tea. It was nice to have loose tea and it was all really well presented. Looking forward to going back next time we're in Manchester!

Came to Manchester for a day and wanted somewhere to have breakfast, with a quick research Fig & and sparrow was the closest I could find. You can order on the counter or on their app, which is nice. The staff show themselves available with a very nice smile on their faces. The atmosphere is so chill, either to work for a bit, come with a friend or even for a date hehe. I had the smashed avocado with a mozzarella extra and a beautiful beetroot latte. For what I had, the price wasn't that much and the portions were just right. Whenever I'm back in Manchester I'm pretty sure I'll visit to have a bite of other things in the menu (they all look so yummy!). Thank you for your service!

One of my favourite cafes in the northern quarter by far! Amazing light lunches, cakes and incredible coffee. Such a lovely vibe in here and the staff are so friendly. I’ve been visiting this cafe for 2 years and it has sustained its consistency and quality throughout. A must visit!

We ordered the blueberry pancakes and granola bowl. They were nice but were a bit overpriced considering the quantity of food. We also ordered two ice coffees, which came to £17.50. The food was nice but nothing out of ordinary for the prices.

Came here in the early morning to work. The WiFi was fast and the coffee was good. This is a small spot and they don't want you to use your laptop in the front of the shop. In the back of the shop they have plenty of outlets and you can feel free to use them. I didn't get any food but they have a small assortment of pastries. Place is cute.

Went in for a late breakfast with my other half. Asked for a small adjustment to the vegan breakfast which they were happy to do. All the staff were super pleasant and the place had a really chilled, warm vibe. To top it off the food was exceptional, and the coffee was also really good. Will definitely be back!

Easily the nicest cup of coffee we had in Bristol over the weekend, so good we bought some beans home! Food was simple, but tasty, everything was fresh and really good quality.

Absolutely awful service this morning, parked myself up to do some work as I had quite a lot on & was unsure of what drink I wanted to order for no more than 10 minutes, one of the servers with pinkish hair and tattoos told me I couldn’t eat my own food when I “hadn’t even bothered to order anything.” Made me extremely uncomfortable in somewhere I should be able to relax and work. The other server didn’t even acknowledge me walking in so even if I had decided to order sooner I would not have been able to do so. It felt as though it was done purposely to create ridicule. Clearly didn’t get enough business this morning but hope this makes you lose future business from your poor service.

Lovely little cafe, had a tasty lunch with a friend. Very cheerful service and food is freshly cooked. Was very warm inside and only 1 toilet which is down a flight of stairs

I am making my first Google review expressly to write this review. It was really that shocking. The food was fine, bordering on good. But the service from one staff member was so offensive as to actually give us a few laughs. The bathroom is absolutely foul, I think evidenced by that they haven't fixed the toilet for three weeks. Oscar Wilde couldn’t describe the stench. I can overlook the structural issues if not for the fact that the waitress practically caused an earthquake slamming down a pot of cutlery (she seemed irate by the very fact that we had asked for cutlery to begin with). It was the most passive aggressive service l've ever experienced, including in Paris. For management: I can describe her in more detail but suffice to say she has a vaguely American international school accent and worked the till on 05/11. Also, if you wait in the queue and get a table inside, there is no table service, so you will have to rejoin the queue of other people trying to find a table and being turned away before actually being able to order anything. I've never experienced such a system before. Mediocre, passive aggressive, but absolutely hilarious. 10/10 for the inside jokes for those involved (or inflicted) with visiting this café.

Absolutely luv this cafe. Set in the heart of the Northern Quarter, with sanded orginal floorboards, great atmosphere and real Manchester feel. Service is top notch & food + drinks delicious. We are vegan and there are a good selection of vegan options. I recommend the avocado toast & chocolate brownie. I have decaf coffees & they are hard to find as tasty as a normal coffee - here they are beautiful esp with oat milk.

(Translated by Google) Cold reception, ok coffee, decent hot chocolate and little choice of pastries and / or sweet. No explanations from the server. Bad. There is much better in Manchester. (Original) Accueil froid, café ok, chocolat chaud correct sans plus et très peu de choix de viennoiseries et/ou sucré. Pas d'explications de la part du serveur. Bof. Il y a beaucoup mieux à Manchester.

This cosy coffee shop in Manchester is a wonderful find. First and foremost, their coffee is excellent, with a wide variety of home brews and a dedicated brew bar they are one of the best places for quality coffee Manchester. Additionally, they also offer a diverse selection of sweets, sandwiches and other simple foods. Vegan customers would enjoy a selection of alternative milks, vegan cakes and other food options. The ambient of this place is also worth mentioning, not only their music is great and just at the right volume and of the right kind that allows conversations to flow uninterrupted, but it is also quite uplifting and comfortable. It was a great find, will visit again.

The staff are really friendly here. One of a few places in Manchester which actually serve proper coffee. Their long black comes in a glass so make sure to let it cool down a bit, you can taste the coffee better when it is cool anyway. The salted caramel millionaires cake is super tasty, the salt really enhances the flavours.

Popped in when passing by and stopped for a hot drink, first time visiting and found they sold loose leaf teas and sandwiches. My girlfriend and I had ordered a salmon and cream cheese sandwich and a tea, offered to switch to a bagel. The staff were super friendly as chatted about the current situation and explained how they are operating. Receiving our order we walked out and continued to run our errands, grabbing the bagel can feel it was generously filled, the first bite was mega! The dressing compliment the salmon and turned to my girlfriend, sharing with her to try (reluctantly). Proper bagel and very satisfying. Could have done with cutting in half but will definitely going back for that again. Highly recommended trying and visiting.
