The name 'Soup Kitchen' says it all, full of tramps, well, more like middle class children who come to Manchester to study and think it's cool to not wash for four weeks, look and dress like they've been pushed through the XXL department at COW or Oxfam and say how much they love the labour party. Bar staff and manager incredibly rude and dismissive too.

Great ambience, amazing DJs and one of the best sound systems in all of Manchester. Highly recommend! No wonder it's one of the best rated clubs in all of city centre.

This place is legit good BUT the name is awful. It's kinda like naming a restaurant "The Food Bank." That is a very offensive name. 1 star until you change it.

Awesome food, huge portions and a super relaxed cafeteria vibe. Lots of vegan and vegetarian options as well as meat dishes. Good coffee and a bar with wine, spirits and craft beer.

Great little venue downstairs for an amazing atmosphere with reasonable prices and drinks. The toilet situation need serious work!

Me and my 4 friends who are all 19-22 got turned away for what we presume was the way we dressed or because we looked young, they didn’t even give us the chance to show our ID’s and instantly turned us away - would not recommend at all.

I was scared there. My wife asked me to buy a soup, and I found good variety of tasty soups. As soon as I arrived there, I noticed a junk bar with weird guys .... loud music. And, finally I ordered a soup and I received a kind of barbecue. At least, I left there alive.

I came here to the dark small smoky basement dance floor on Saturday night to listen to some great techno and was not disappointed. Really good DJs (Pluralist was amazing), quick bar service, relaxed vibe and great crowd. Upstairs beforehand was cool too but quite a queue for the bathroom as it was really busy but I cant wait to come back here. No cloakroom though.

Very overrated. No space. No good music. We came all the way and nothing.

Been to the basement venue a few times, one of my favourites in Manc. but decided to try upstairs for some soup and drinks, excellent service, great chill atmosphere and music, the soup was divine and reasonably priced. Highly recommend. 💕

Lots of seats, good selection of drinks. Wouldn't describe it as cosy but not so noisy you can't have a chat

Superchaud, cool and nice place with a great atmosphere. Not your typical, commercial night out. Hence, a would recommend to people who are more into techno, house, ... cool place.

Lovely, and iconic basement venue in the heart of Manchester's Northern Quarter. No frills, but a great vibe.

Getting sick of watered down cocktails that claim to have measures of x, y and z in them, but have no material alcohol impact?! Then SOUP is the place for you! This place has a decent selection of cocktails that deliver. It's not a tiki bar, so you're not going to get your cocktail served in a tiki mug with an umbrella and massive slice of pineapple with hula dancers. But you will get the alcohol you're paying for! Cocktails aside, the venue feels a little mixed in terms of style and feel. It's not plush, and it's not a traditional pub. It feels like a pho/wagamma bench style setting, but has more of a bar vibe to it, so a bit of a mixed message. We didn't have food here, but I have heard the food is good for the price paid.

Lovely place, restaurant during the day, club in the night. The soups are delicious, as well as other stuff. Tere are some glutenfree as well as vegan options. Sandwiches are huge.

Horrendous place. Me and my friends are all 19. We all showed our IDs to get in. When we got to the bar the “manager” approached us and said “you’re all under 18 get out” and we had no choice but to leave. All of us are genuinely 19 and have never owned fake IDs if that’s what they were getting at? A place for only millenials and actual old people don’t go here.

Absolutely brilliant place with great staff, if you manage to make it past the bouncer without: A) being refused entry so they can exercise a massive power trip to make themselves feel good. B) being told something creepy and inappropriate. Don’t worry though boys, luckily this one only applies to you if you’re a woman!!

Went in on Saturday afternoon and it was happy hour. 2 x pilsners and a g&t was around £10 - phenomenal value. The staff were really nice and chatty too. Plenty of room and a good vibe.

Cool bar nice ambiance and decor, prices standard for city centre so expectedly a bit expensive. Sometimes they host club nights which are good and i recommend going to

A hub for the arts, up-and-coming musical talent and host of great performance art. Soup has been supportive in so many ways over the past 7 years I've lived in Manchester. Keep on supporting this great place and the people who work so hard to make it this special.
