Not really an LGBTQ safe space they just let any old scum bag in. Very tacky venue. This is the venue of last resort when punters get turned away from all the other venues.

Excellent experience and venue and the drink's are reasonably priced and the staff was very friendly myself Jake and Mark really enjoyed ourselves and our visit

My partner and I heard great things about this place. My girlfriend who does not drink alcohol Was accused of being drunk. She has Vestibular neuritis which causes inn balance so she doesn’t walk straight. She has a full medical report but felt embarrassed to share this. I was called aggressive for explaining this disability. I will be contacting the manager in the morning to report this discrimination

Visited recently as a hen party for drag bingo & cabaret in the upstairs room and it was brilliant! Event was mainly full of hen party groups which was well organised, and the vibe was so much fun! Hilarious drag hosts including a surprise bit of cabaret from a Drag Race UK contestant. We had literally been there 10 mins and the party was immediately in full swing, with amazing music all night. Bar staff were really friendly and patient too, and drinks were good value. Would highly recommend for a great night!

Staff and atmosphere brilliant.. BUT sadly and this is not me being old , the music and the vocals from stage was FAR TO LOUD ,I've worked in the pub club industry may years and when the music is to the point it makes you feel disorientated and physically hurts to listen to its beyond the point of pleasure. I've been a couple of times before and the volume was definitely NOT that high . The party I was with all agreed.. people smoking outside said the same ..

Loved the Drag stand up. She did an excellent job on an intimidating group of 20 lads for a friend's stag. Fun entertainment and was quite an intimate and small venue

Up market gay bar with adjoining but separate dance bar. Enjoy a drink and hear the conversation in the bar, or through the doors to busy, friendly dance club. Good range of drinks, draught, friendly staff and this makes for friendly crowd too! Been 3 times, never disappointed

We visited this club/bar as our first visit to the Gay Village. Staff weren't the most friendly, apart from the wonderful DJ who was playing classic tunes and incredibly smiley. Drink options were affordable, however non-alcoholic options limited and expensive. We did arrive at the scene quite early in the night and so the club itself was relatively quiet. We went on a Friday night around 10pm, and stayed for one drink in the end. I think we may have caught the club on a quiet night and with little going on!

Fabulous place where everyone could be completely themselves!! Well worth securing yourself a booth by prepaying bar tab. The drag artiste was terrific, Kylie, Cher etc. The dancers blew my mind. What energy and stage presence. I will say that at 2am the unisex toilets were not for the faint hearted!

Love it here, if you're new ro the village, you used to frequent it or you're not even sure. The staff here treat you all like you're regulars. Great cheesy music from all decades, attentive staff and a safe place to be.

Used to be a regular haunt of mine in my youth. Decided to go back for old time sake and it did not disappoint. Had a cracking night. Staff were helpful and friendly, good acts on and reasonably priced drinks. Oh and the biggest disco ball I've seen what more could you want.

This place is bouncing during "normal times ".To be fair, during this pandemic they have stayed open and work hard to keep customers safe/adhere to Covid-19 Social Distancing Laws. Currently, they have over 100 outside seats with fast and reliable table service . Roll on when the great Djs and world famous Live Entertainment returns. It's always busy and full of great people and one of the longest established venues in the Village. It has worked hard for many years to earn the 5 stars it deserves ✨👏

I'm gonna give it to it straight as a journalist and a radio presenter who attended Manchester Pride for the first time, I only went to this bar for the first time to use the toilet and upon first impression after queueing up for god knows how long, has got to be the most unhygienic and most cramped toilet I've ever seen in Manchester. Heck, it's even smaller than my current bedroom! I WAS going to use it but then upon looking at the state, I immediately left in disgust. You're better off going to the toilets outside of this bar like per se, the toilet at the Le Ville Hotel, the toilets at Pixel Bar Manchester or the toilets in any of the NQ64 Arcade Bars. To make matters worse, there are absolutely no accessibility toilets at the New York New York bar which is a massive red flag and an offense towards disabled people. Le Ville Hotel charges you £1 to use the toilet but at least, it's kinda cleaner and the toilet is a little bit more roomy. Not to mention, it's better than nothing and unlike the other gay bars, the toilet at Le Ville Hotel tends to have a short queue. I am SO NOT returning to the New York New York bar to use the toilet if I ever attend Manchester Pride next year if they still don't have the decency to clean the female toilets.

Good atmosphere, busier on a weekend with cheesy dance anthems to bop along to. A good place a stop off on your way around the bars.

Great bar but be aware young woman putting poppers right up to your nose when they see you had a few to many drinks . So they can take your bag . Reported to door man didn’t seem to care . I felt very unsafe as a woman I would expect this from lord of places in Manchester put not your bar . Found this shocking and upsetting

Constantly told by management not to dance??? Why bother having a dj if you need to sit down. Very strange set up and extremely rude staff! Far better bars around than this one!

Liked the quiet bar for a bit of a breather. Jukebox good touch but would of liked the volume a little higher as everytime the door opened it drowned out the music

The not so very cheap drag show is basically a bingo. Not worth the money, specially if you are seated in the "VIP area", downstairs, you cannot see a thing.

Was very dissapointed the other night after going to new york new york for my 10th time and almost being turned away at the door for "not looking gay enough" i understand the want to keep our gay bars as a sacred place but at what point did we believe its right to judge someone on there appearance on canal street of all places. Eventually after explaining i have come multiple times and have previously loved coming here we were allowed in but were followed watched by staff at all times. Not a very inviting experience

Dark and music was really really loud. Couldn't hear what anyone said. We sat in a booth only to discover a puddle of spit on the seat next to us so we left. The venue has a good vibe to it but not to my taste. Definitely has potential and we probably just went on a bad day. Not at all wheelchair accessible also. Has steep steps to get into and steps inside too.

love this place. barman is hilarious n goes out of his way to help people. hot drinks, lots of alcohol choices and a private area upstairs for parties n events.

The artisty of these acts are so underrated! Loads of fun and games. Won't spoil it for those that haven't been. However the last act, was so poignant and heart felt it was amazing.. I cried it proper moved me. The rest of it was as mad as a box of frogs. The end though! Feels

I always have a memorable time here. Last week while in the toilets a drunk guy came in and dived head first into my urinal. He could of offered me a drink first like... Thankfully his friend came in with no top on and apologised, I swiftly left while the first man carried on puking in the second urinal. When I got back to my seat the man next to me got up to leave and knocked his drink over my mates shoes, he muttered "sorry" and left with his friends. At this point the floor was pretty sticky and I was having flash backs from Freshers week at uni so we decided to leave.

We had a part here was good turn out. Would of loved a beer garden, but center of Manchester so you can't win them all. We all had a good day.

Had an absolute blast at the Benidorm Bingo for my hen party. Tequila Thirst was such a fantastic host for the evening, we all had so much fun singing and dancing. Massive hats off to all the staff here for being legends and working their arses off. 10/10 would go again!

We absolutely loved this place. Situated in the gay village just a stone's throw away from the canal is this pub. On the left is a small bar but there is ample seating. When myself and friends were there a drag queen was doing kareoke with the customers and cracking jokes. The atmosphere was so friendly. On the right is a large room with a massive bar and a stage. We had booked a drag show and bingo. Our show lasted about three hours and then the staff removed the tables and transformed the room into a night club. We absolutely loved it and can't wait to visit again.

I had the best time. What a Queen 👑 in charge of proceedings. Have only given a 4 because I was too drunk to appreciate if it was a 5 or not. Can't wait to return to post a new review

Love the happy hour and i did really like the karaoke just wish they didnt make us wait so long seemed like the drag queen that day didnt like me and my friend as others didnt have to wait

Great place to enjoy yourself, male and female bouncer that was on the door Saturday 31st July were lovely chatty helpful and did their job as they should bar was quick service despite been very busy, overall a good night

Great staff and a lovely new addition with the New York New York Terrace, outdoor seating and table service.

This is a great place for cocktails. There is a cocktail bar area and a separate dance floor area so you can take your choice. The bartender was great and brought all our cocktails over to our table - really great service with a smile.

I love this place such an amazing atmosphere and out of this world entertainment. The bar team and door team work so hard to make your visit the most amazing time of your life. And well not forgetting Roxy she is amazing, fabulous and of course spectacular 👍👍👍👍

Tracy and her team, considering the situation that we all face ourselves in, are doing an excellent job. The seating arrangements outside are comfortable and even if it rains, they have got you literally covered.

Amazing service last night - apart from a blatantly sexist door man unfortunately, who would only explain things/converse with, and look at my boyfriend, even when I directly asked him a question. It's not the 1950s - it was the most bizarre & degrading experience. I'm a really polite and rather quiet person so he had no basis for disliking/ignoring me or treating us differently - other than the obvious. It's a shame because the rest of the staff are amazing and so lovely and everything is so reasonably priced - but what a way to feel completely segregated from the get go. Gross! Hope this doesn't happen to anyone else, never experienced anything like it before; completely ruined what would have been a really good, all-round experience

Always a pleasure to be welcomed to New York New York. Our community and business have suffered but we're a class act when it comes to excelling through adversity. Had a great day on the street with my lovely friends, all socially distant and in single household. The heat was just too much at times though. It was all made that bit more easier with the help of super chilled larger and fun of the staff and village visitors, there's always something to see down the village. I still cant get used to the table service though I'm just that kinda guy I like to put my own work in, even if it is only just to the bar. I love how well this bar and others have really led the way in Manchester as an example to the rest because here at New York New York, it been done amazingly.

Come here regularly with my pals and always a great atmosphere. We love the glamour! Highly recommended bar.

Nice place, good staff but you have to pay a little amount to enter. Worthy only if its busy.

It was OK. I know it was a busy Saturday night, but they took a hell of a long time to serve us even when it went quieter. The cocktails were not the best and also not one staff member or security wore any face masks at all

I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt because I was totally drunk by the time I got there. They have a jukebox and I managed to get one song on but had to ask friends to help put more tunes on. I just couldn't work it out in my addled state. Somebody ordered some food but again I don't remember what it was for reasons you can guess by now!
