What a brilliant venue! No-frills grassroots gig space with a well-stocked bar (and two good draft beers) and a surprisingly good sound system. Feels like you’re at a gig in your mate’s loft apartment. Great staff and crowd. One of the most satisfying gigs I’ve ever been to. Like others say, it is a bit tricky to find the entrance (it’s through the Peer Hat, out into the alley, then left up the stairs), but that’s part of the charm.

Good atmosphere, nice staff and a great music venue. Let down by being hotter than the surface of the sun when bands are playing.

Small venue with character above The Peer Hat. Lighting is not great for photography/video but usable. Was shooting at an event 'Millyz Live In Manchester part of the Rap Box Events & Management Company with Gareth Hunt, DJ Silverfinger Singh, DJ Bayat and Support Acts Kallico Juice, Queens in Kicks Dance Group, Robbahollow, Gio Dee, Trevor Troopz, Joe Prestage.

Went to Pop Curious at this venue - was really good. Pros: friendly staff, friendly customers, nice vibe - mixed ages, come as you are. Card/contactless at the bar - no minimum spend. Cons: cash only for the £7 entry and £1 cloakroom - get a card machine up front too :) toilets with urinals way too small and a bit weird/awkward. annoying queues. when busy the bar queue management isn't great. staff jump around a lot and miss people out.

I had such a joint great exhibition here with Gill Nicholas, Dom also lent us some bright spotlights, DJ discs and heaters even though we didn't need them. Casual vibes, cosy sofas, good priced drinks and well attended.

Great venue to see live music. Cheap drinks that wasent the size of a postage stamp. Great atmosphere. Free bottles of water. No frills needed. Possibly could have done with some cleaner toilets but it's a gig venue! Only draw back is its almost impossible to find. Almost.

Great venue for bands to play at, the atmosphere is brilliant! Also a really nice place to go for a drink and they have a nice selection of vegan/veggie pizzas to eat too! Really would recommend coming here whether its for a gig or for a drink and some food

Love this place. Bar has improved since it was Kraak.

Been to AATMA a few times now for a few different gigs. Polygamy and Blackjacks are the main two bands I've come to see. Great atmosphere, great service.

Great painting in the dark event. Really good atmosphere and lots of fun, even if you’re like us and aren’t very artsy ha. Some amazing work painted by others.

Fantastic no-frills venue where you can catch some of Manchester's best bands and club nights. A little hidden away, but that makes it all the more appealing. A true hidden gem!

Been to some amazing club nights here. One of the Northern Quarter's best kept secrets imo.

Holy cow is this place hard to find, it's down a back ALLY behind the peer hat. The door is steel, you might be lucky and they have taped a a4 piece of paper to the door, but you might not be lucky.... once in the place I really like it, it's small, friendly and good music, if you can find it defo go check it out.

Just above The Peer Hat and down an alley. Hard to find but well worth the effort.

Nightclub space (formerly art gallery + nightclub space). Cheap & cheerful. Often hosts fun nights like Pop Curious, Electropop Curious, R 'n' Bey, and The Most Depressing Night Of Your Life. Drinks are ~£4/ea.

Not sure what's worse - the bouncer or the bar staff. Shame because Kraak was THE BEST.

Had so many amazing nights here. Love this place.

It's ok. It's very small and smells like it's someone's attic. It's like someone just had there attic half converted and stuck a bar and lights in it with stud wall toilet. Prices good, not a wide selection of drinks and venue not bad for music. Entrance is a side door in between 2 buildings

Hidden music venue just off Lever Street. Good for hearing new bands but the amenities are fairly basic

Good sized venue. Hosted so many gigs and club nights over the years. Ran by musicians and friends. Real underground feel to it.
