Oktoberfest not as advertised - disappointing night, a group of us had booked the oktoberfest event which was advertised as a German themed night with a host who would be playing interactive games and music. We waited 40 minutes to be seated in the room, going back and being told multiple times "it'll be ready when we're ready" and being physically shooed out the door. The stein cocktails were vile, tasted just like juice with no alcohol and the pretzels were dry and stale. The night had absolutely no german theme whatsoever, just some random live band playing cover songs of chart music. We would have been as well saving our £20pp and going to a bar elsewhere

Friendly bar staff. I also recommend the Long Island Iced Tea cocktail. Many places make them weak with too much cola but this was bang on. Also enjoyed a pint of Fruli

The clue's in the name: Bier Keller. They have one job: to serve beer and other drinks to paying customers efficiently. But they can't do that. The time it takes to get served here is terrible. Just before the next Comedy Store act came on there were just three of us at the bar, keen to get back for the show but the bar staff decided that was a good time to clean glasses instead of serving the few remaining customers. Did they attend the customer service course or did they fall asleep during it? Anyone can pull a pint but these guys make it look like a Herculean task and no apology when you point out how ridiculous their "service" is. I thought the comics were on stage, not behind the bar. The MC ended the show by asking for a round of applause for the bar staff "who are the engine room of the Bier Keller". Regrettably a 2mph, 1bhp, two-stroke out of a Trabant. Plenty of other places to take my business so won't be rushing back.

Went to a Comedy Store show. The comedians and compere were great, but it was hard to hear them at times because of the number of people talking at the back of the room. This place seems popular for stag parties and is pretty rowdy. We weren't able to get a single drink the whole time we were there as there was only one person on the bar, and ordering via the app was closed because it was too busy, and we didn't want to miss any of the show. If you enjoy comedy, this is not the place to go for it. Would potentially come back but only midweek when it's (hopefully) quieter

I attended Bierkeller for the R&B Brunch MCR - 28 AUG. There was meant to be bottomless rum punch for the first hour however, due to lack of organisation there was a massive queue and the drinks were slow to come out, then the rum punch ran out. One of the staff also misled people by telling them to use the space at the bar where there was no serving of punch. Bought drinks were slow to arrive too. Toilets had lots of holes through the cubicle walls, several had no door lock fitted. It's clear the venue needs and overhaul. The event hosted was fun and lively.

Watched the FA Cup final in this place. The beer and the food was fine but the experience was ruined by the excessive volume of the sound system, which we asked to be turned down a number of times. It would have been quieter in Wembley itself. It was not possible to hear the person next to you without shouting.

Love it. Brings the night life to day time. Fantastic big screens for the football, pool tables, music on! Super friendly staff & clean facilities. The only shock I got was when we left & realised how light it was outside

Watched the women's world Cup finals here, which had an amazing atmosphere, Drinks were good quality and a good selection. I'm not sure if they were short staffed, but it was table service only and waited over 45 minutes without a drink. Also, they had some breakfast food on which wasn't the best. Overall, it was a good experience

I have to say I enjoyed the comedy night and all the acts. It was a treat from my friends for my 50th, now besides the fight, which was dealt with quite quickly, the only reason for the mid score was because one of my friends ordered (before me) currywurst, after we had our orders he checked on it to be told its coming, but it never arrived, he went to ask for a refund but was refused at first saying use it against drinks which he didn't want to do, chased up with the cook, and he admitted he forgot to do it, yet my friend has to beg for his money back, did taint the night to be honest.

After watching the first 3 England games and spending a lot of money in here, as its £6 for a half decent pint, turned up last night to be told it's £5 entry as its now past the group stages. Ended up going to the bar opposite as did many others. Pure greed during a cost of living crisis.

Great set up with screens all around the room. However, having arrived at 4:10, we weren’t served our drinks until 4:45.. that is plainly not good enough, especially considering we had paid a £240 deposit. The staff themselves were fantastic and very helpful; it is very clear they were overworked and understaffed for how busy the bar was. I do not have a negative word to say about the staff, they did all they could. The company need to take some responsibility and appoint more staff in future, the customer experience and staff welfare was unacceptable on this occasion.

Visited the Bierkeller last Saturday June 18th as we booked a package for 8 people. Our hostess was not well informed and asked me what's included in the package. Explained what's included and after waiting for a least 30 minutes, got the drinks order wrong. Had to ask again for our pool table to be ready. There's food included as well but that took 1 1/2 hrs to arrive but got mixed up with another party. All in all not the experience you'd expect when booking an organised package but also staff felt a bit overwhelmed and not briefed/prepared for the evening.

Was a good place to drink before the new management put the prices up and a load off Ice in the drinks. I come here on occasions now. Friendly staff, but not at all like it was.

Went for a bottomless brunch for my wives birthday and was really disappointed. I normally enjoy going to Bierkeller, so I was really excited for the bottomless but left feeling disappointed. Had to go to the bar to ask for drinks as we weren’t getting served for drinks and at the bar we were told it was table service and they would send someone over. This meant we were having time in our 2 hours slot wasted trying to get our drinks, we would have been better off spending 2 hours in the normal bar where we could go to the bar and could have more drinks durning that time than what we were able to have at a bottomless brunch, which massively defeats the point. Also people who hadn’t paid for the brunch were allowed in that room and also people from the previous brunch that should have finished at 2 stayed in for our brunch too. Yet when we arrived 15 mins before our brunch we were told we weren’t allowed in until 2pm. This was also an issue for us as the tables were sticky and full of empty glasses and rubbish which isn’t a good first impression as soon as you enter.

Although i understand we visited during the daytime on a weekday, the atmosphere was odd / dead considering there were a few people playing pool. The beer was terrible, they need to clean their lines. The pool table we used needs replacing or height adjusting. The balls had a mind of their own. One of the shuffleboard also needs replacing, it doesn't score. Overall, it all felt a bit dated and lots of things need replacing including a smashed glass on the door leading to the toilet. Considering this was supposed to be a gaming venue, it was very disappointing. Playing some music might add to the atmosphere.

Had a fantastic night..danced sang and laughed ourselves silly, fun night out..strawberry Früli was delicious and staff were always close by in case of accidents which can happen when you dance on benches! 🤕 Fortunately all our party came home uninjured 😃

I came last Saturday early noon introducing a friend to Bierkeller and the atmosphere I built up in his head was completely ruined by an obnoxious function room next door. I was introduced to Bierkeller just before COVID and never experienced this before, so maybe it's always been here, but their music was overlapping the bar music which was causing us issues with hearing each other and the room was physically shaking at times with the bass. In attendance of this room was a horrendous, tone deaf rapper who, despite being next door, we could hear over our conversation which at times was taking place in each others' ears. The reputation of this place has well and truly been wobbled for me and we ended up leaving for Walkabout.

Have been here a few times in the evening and had a good time, but came with a couple of friends who are united fans to watch united vs wolves at 4.30pm But we where turned away because they where wearing shorts - in a sports bar at 4.30? I understand this policy in the evening but not for football fans in the afternoon.

Huge venue with plenty of different spaces. Went as part of a Stag Do package - had a £100 bar tab which was easy to set up and pay the extra at the end. Staff very helpful, good selection of drinks and plenty of screens to watch sport.

Visited the Comedy Store on Saturday for the first time at the Bierkeller. I have to say, it's totally spoilt it being at this venue, the atmosphere is totally different, there is so much noise from the bar next to the room, this disturbed some of the acts. The whole place is grubby, definitely won't go back, it's such shame as we loved the other place.

  • 2/5 Daniel E. 8 months ago on Google
The new venue for the Comedy Store in the Bierkeller is not suitable for comedy. Too much noise from the bar next door, and it seems people are there to drink and get drunk rather than enjoy the comedy. Lots of people are getting up mid-sets to get drinks, and even walking past the stage with no remorse. Unfortunately disappointed. There is not a good atmosphere here. The comedians were good though, despite all the distractions and noise.

A nice Bierkeller it serves a decent collection of larger and a lot more cocktails than I remember and pretty decently made. Adequately prices it's a shame they no longer do food, but there's good seating and usually plenty of space unless it's a weekend. The staff are pleasant enough as well.

Love the brunch eventa that they hold here!! Its Weird cause I felt like I was in the club at midday and home for 5pm. Food wasn't the greatest, and 1 teaspoon of sace to accompany bonless chincken wings (chicken strips) wasn't enough. But yeh, this was me, doing what I do best.....drinking & dancing.

Good fun at the Christmas show. There was a good selection of drinks to choose from to suit everyone. These were pre-ordered and arrived shortly after being seated. The only negative was that we arrived promptly to the venue as requested, but the event room was not ready for a further 15 mins so we had to queue. Otherwise had a great time!

  • 2/5 Daniel H. 4 months ago on Google
There's nothing remotely German about this place. Just a big sports bar with no atmosphere. We had booked the beer pong package, which took a few emails backwards and forwards to reiterate what we had booked. The online booking system obviously needs improvement. When we arrived there was again confusion as the staff didn't really know what to do. The toilets were absolutely disgraceful with doors broken, taps loose and the hand dryer hanging off the wall. It looked like they had been this way for some time with no attempt to make them safe, let alone sanitary to use. The bar itself wasn't much cleaner either. So we avoided the food entirely. Avoid

Fries were great, vegan chicken wings were more like vegan fish fingers - didn’t taste nice and cost a tenner for five. Felt very expensive for what they were. Atmosphere was good for a derby, bouncers were great as usual.

Came to Bierkeller for the Comedy Store as a team event. We purchased food and drinks whilst we were there too. The food was great and fast. They didn't have what I'd ordered so was offered anything else on the menu and was not expected to make additional payments to cover the cost which was a kind offer. We have lots of dietary requirements so made use of the veggie and vegan options which I'm told were really tasty. The Comedy Store was fantastic, a colleague mentioned she doesn't usually find these events funny but really enjoyed and laughed at the comics jokes. Overall the team had a great experience and we would all recommend and return again.

Great sports bar. When we visited w played shuffle board and the staff member who explained how to play was great. Loads of space, lots to do, plenty of screens to watch footy - great place to visit.

I would recommend the comedy store any day of the week. Staff were pleasant . Place was clean and tidy and in a prime location near to other events in the heart of Manchester. Its quite a large venue which could seat around 200 people as an estimate. maybe they offer to hire out the venue? i dont know but its worth mentioning. Would be back very soon. House beer was great!! Enjoy it!!!!

Good bar, but don't bother with the food. Serious amount of screens. Small, larger and larger. If u want to watch football and be surrounded by like minded people than this is perfect.

My company hosted a summer party at the Bierkeller recently, which was a great success! I'm very grateful to Stuart Walker and the team for a truly an amazing evening. It was a fantastic seeing everybody crowded round the beer pong tables and up on the benches dancing. We also had a sax player who was phenomenal - this was suggested by Stuart at the venue and he was right, it really did make the evening special. Stuart really went to great lengths to facilitate our requests and his input was invaluable. I would highly recommend the Bierkeller for corporate events!

Arranged a stag do here for 15 people. Everyone really enjoyed it. Oompah band created a cracking atmosphere! Table staff were friendly and attentive

Over £28 for two double vodka lemonades that’s more expensive than schofields and speak in code (two top 50 UK bars) cocktails table service and service charge. More expensive than the Ivy Alchemist etc. The extortion you deal with just to watch the footie, even the ice was half melted and miserable just like the bar when the footie stopped. Hope the energy crisis sends this place into administration.

Great atmosphere to watch Football, huge TV screens with great quality and very friendly bar staff. The food (burgers / pizza) wasn‘t very impressive. But certainly coming back for a game…

  • 4/5 Martin H. 1 year ago on Google
Normally a decent place to go good choice of beers, sport on TV, and plenty of pool tables. Last time we visited they were short staffed and obviously under pressure as the lady was very rude, shouldn't show that to your customers as it could be off putting for some who may not return. I'll just put it down to a bad day on this occasion, and will be sure to visit again.

What a lovely experience, friendly staff. We came in around 10pm and we were the last to leave and instead of the attitude of "Get out of here, we wanna close" we got a lovely warm welcome with great service. The home beer is also delicious!

The venue is great fun. Great pool room and entertainment. But for a place the is suppose to celebrate beer, it tasted awful. Even the beers I've drank before, didn't taste right. Clean the lines better and look after the beer.

Came here to watch the Manchester Derby after our match tickets got cancelled on us 15 minutes before the game. Fair to say we were deflated and disappointed that we couldn't get into the stadium to see the actual game so decided to head into the city to catch the game. Ended up in Bierkeller where they had it split into united and City zones. Was a great buzz and atmosphere around the place. Drinks were great and staff were friendly and added to the good atmosphere. Ultimately it saved our day and had a great time. Thanks Bierkeller!

Went to the Super Bowl event Security were brilliant, covering the place all night Bar staff were exceptional, esp our server Maddie Management made sure everyone had a great time Food was brill, hot and as described Had American guests with us who were absolutely made up. Great night

We watched the Super Bowl here and were unfortunately in a room with just one big screen. We were sat close to the screen, at the side, with two speakers blasting out over our heads, so not only were we unable to see we were also deafened. We asked staff if they could turn the volume down slightly as us and people around us were in pain, nothing happened. Luckily we managed to find some space in another room and stood up all night. Pretty poor from start to finish.

Great for a lads night out , slightly dissapointing entertainment, was told an Umpa band , instead got a DJ and 2 singers pretending to speak and sing in fake German accents, not quite the Octoberfest experience I had expected

These guys were so accommodating. My son dreams of seeing City play live. Unfortunately, our visit was during the Arsenal match and I could never find tickets...at least not through the official channel (I refused to use a resale site, after hearing about all the ticket fraud and scams). I found the Bierkeller online and they made a simple table reservation for my whole family. It was as close to seeing the game in person as we could get. Yes, we got weird looks for only ordering Pepsi to drink, but the food was great and the climate was fun.

Had a great afternoon last week. Saw the King of Bling (Bobby George), had a little bit of fun darts. The place was great. Staff amazing and beer and food also. Shall be returning soon.

Attended a comedy show. Grumpy door staff when entering the hall. Service at the bar took forever so didn't bother buying anymore drinks. A lot of female toilets either out of order, no toilet roll or covered in cobwebs. Really noisy in the hall to the point that you couldn't even hear the comedian at times. If you want to watch a comedy show, there are plenty of other establishments in Manchester where you will have a much better experience. Will never be returning to this venue.
