I cannot fault the staff, the check in, the location, the room or the bar. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. It was close to T3 and even hopped on the free shuttle bus in the morning. The room was immaculate and included a hairdryer, spare pillows, tea and coffee making facilities and an iron and ironing board. The only reason I gave it a nine is only a personal preference and that is I do like a fridge in my room. I had sandwiches and drinks and a fridge would have been perfect. Saying that, it would not stop me from staying again 😊

Recently had a cancelled flight and we were taken here by our airline/holiday company. Just like to thank the hotel for their wonderful compassionate service. We arrived and were quickly seen and directed to to restaurant for a wonderful evening meal. Staff were efficient, friendly, welcoming. We then retired to our very comfortable rooms, beds were amazingly. Rooms clean, welcoming, with everything we could need. After a good night's sleep we had a delicious breakfast, with an array of well prepared and presented breakfast items. Staff again absolutely lovely. A late checkout arrangement from our airline, who then failed to collect us (30+ people) for our rescheduled flight. Fortunately for many, the hotel stepped in and transported to the terminal which I think was above and beyond service wise using their own fleet of minibuses. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this hotel for an airport stay, definitely 5*

Took a train two hours to surprise my lady on our anniversary. I had suggested and booked this hotel for her to fly out easy while I was out here for work. Provided room #, first and last name, phone # and her email. Even showed reception a picture of us kissing and embracing at a wedding(my phone background) and they still wouldn't help me. I called her down to the lobby. Top flight security, poor service. Rooms have a musty odor. Close to airport.

The convenience is just about the only nice thing about this hotel. Their website says the rooms include “luxury” toiletries, to Clayton hotel this means hand soap and an all in one body wash, shampoo and conditioner. This is a long way from luxury. The toilet paper had blood on it and the bathroom has black on/in the caulk. The shower doesn’t look like it has been cleaned. The room was freezing with no thermostat. Just a space heater that made no difference unless you sat right next to it. The only reason it gets a 2 is because the beds weren’t horrible. The phone from the 1980s in the room also doesn’t work. Might just be for show so that you can’t call down to reception.

We had a peaceful stay here before our morning flight. Fabulous place, great location right on Terminal 1, with a dedicated door to door (and return) shuttle bus service to all terminals. We stayed in an executive suite, and despite being so close to a runway, we heard no aircraft noise. Fully equipped room, with all the usual items, including coffee pod machine and Sky TV. On site restaurant and bar were a little pricey for what we had however, captive audience, and we couldn't be bothered to drive anywhere else. We had three weeks parking included, with our car staying on site and ourselves keeping our keys. Very reasonably priced for what we had. Staff great, all Hotel service areas were clean and transport from the hotel to the terminal and then again on the return, were spot on. We will definitely be using Clayton Hotel Manchester again.

Only stayed here for half a night as our flight got cancelled until the following day. The staff were very understanding of the situation and understood/calmed anyone who was frustrated with the flight delay (Ryan Air). Rooms were very clean and kept tidy. We were given a double room with 2 large beds. Bathrooms kept in great order and even had very soft towels etc in them. As for amenities. Irons, Ironing boards, spare pillows, spare sheets, toilet paper, Tea, Coffee, Milk were all provided in the rooms so there was little need to go down to the reception. Breakfast is available here at the on site resteraunt but sadly we didn't get to eat in it due to the timings we stayed (we arrived at the hotel at around midnight and left again around 4-5am in the morning, just a very short nap) The airport (terminal 3) is literally a 5 minute walk down the road and is very accessible along side other extras such as an abundance of parking, taxis on call and very cheap bar. Was a lovely stay 10/10 would stay again if needed.

I have always used this hotel when travelling from Manchester. The rooms and service are fine. I last stayed in October 2021 at a price of approximately £100 (my money had been held for 2 years during the pandemic). I have just tried to book again for June. The price is £250. I am not paying this amount for approximately 5 hours sleep. The bar food is good and shuttle to the airport terminal is excellent. I do recommend but the price is far too much.

Pretty fair for the price. Not immediately next to terminals, but usual shuttle services run. Reasonable selection and "not too bad for airport" prices at bar and restaurant. Communal areas are very well kept. Didn't use the gym, so can't comment. Rooms are OK but a little variable depending on which block you're in. Went with a group and rooms in general were fine, but a couple of rushed repairs took the edge off. No AC in the rooms we had, nor fridges, but room standard does vary with where you are in the building. Beds were all comfy, but bear the lack of AC in mind if staying during Summer. Bathroom layout is a little awkward. Room was clean, which is a biggie on its own. One bonus is all the staff we dealt with were really helpful, genuine and friendly. In honesty, if doing an airport stay, the Radisson if the trump for convenience (and their rooms are often a little patchy) but if you're happy to use a shuttle, you can do much worse.

A perfect airport hotel. Comfortable rooms with everything you need. Very stylish bar and restaurant with good, friendly service. Great range of food and drinks. We were leaving too early for breakfast but were able to get 2 Grab & Go bags instead - a great idea. Shuttle bus (free) with very helpful drivers to & from the airport terminals. 😊

The Best place to stay just before a flight out! Went out of their way to prepare a room for my daughters birthday. Friendly staff. They have a free shuttle to pick and drop you at the airport for your flights especially in the early hours so just makes sense so that you don't stress. The food was absolutely amazing. A very clean hotel and just fun we shall make it out usual pit stop before we head out!

I don’t think hotel staff always appreciate how they can make or break a travel journey but they can and do. I was quite stressed and anxious about this business trip, not feeling great have a lot of stuff going on. I had not stayed at The Clayton before. All that changed as soon as I checked in, my anxiousness melted away as I was greeted by fantastic staff from the very beginning of my hotel stay journey. Ryan Lamb (reception check in) was fantastic, so professional and personable, totally customer service orientated, instantly I felt safe and welcomed. The great customer service didn’t stop there, from the lovely young lady in the restaurant directing me to my room. Tony and Lucas, the shuttle bus drivers absolutely great, you felt totally taken care of. All the young staff in the restaurant at dinner, so personable, friendly and very professional. I will book again the warmth I felt got me in the flow for the big business trip ahead of me the next day leaving after 5.30am feeling good to go and ready for anything Kind Regards Linda

I was travelling with my elderly mother. We both loved it, right from the start the shuttle bus driver from the station was so friendly, in fact every member of staff was so pleasant and helpful, we checked in on line so used the key machine when we arrived, a lovely young lady showed us what to do and booked our return shuttle bus for the next day. We ate in the grill restaurant the food was was delicious no complaints there. The room was lovely and clean and the beds comfy. The only thing I would say is the instructions on line say the phone in the station for the shuttle bus is on the platform, when in fact it is the yellow phone on the airport level.

Great hotel stay - very close to the terminal (could walk or they have frequent shuttle). Room had an adjoining part for the kids to stay in which was great (separate space but only accessed through our room). All staff were really friendly & helpful!

Very comfortable beds in nice clean rooms, TV and wall mounted heating. Excellent restaurant with good quality food and friendly staff. Also the lounge bar is good for food and drinks everything is table service. Free shuttle service to the airport which runs every 15 mins, just book this when you check in.

Faultless from start to finish. Nice treat before a little week away. The hotel minibus picked us up from the train station at the airport and took us to the hotel and then also took us to the terminal building the morning after ... All courtesy of the hotel. The room were spacious and very clean. The food in the hotel bar was really good. Nice and relaxing evening before our holidays. Will definitely book again in future.

Room was ok but cleanliness should be improved, and maybe renovated as well. Very loud on the corridor. Restaurant is super loud, expensive and service is very very slow (but friendly at least). Location is ok if you need to fly very early in the morning. Shuttle bus is free.

Paid top dollar for an inferior property that I chose because of its proximity to Manchester Airport. From the beginning they try to add on items - prepare for the buffet breakfast, prepare for a 2 course dinner, pay extra for a late check out. The room amenities was average, the breakfast was inedible though the dinner was reasonable quality but poor service.

  • 3/5 Maureen C. 7 months ago on Google
The hotel is near the airport and the shuttle bus is free and efficient. The room is fine and has everything you need. Shame about the fixed price menu in the restaurant. I wouldn't have it again. Sea bass was dry and potatoes were undercooked.. cheesecake was dull although the ice cream was more flavoursome.

This isn't a bad hotel, it's a little bit expensive for what it is, and depending on your room's location you might avoid the noise from the train station altogether, though I suppose it's a lot less noise post pandemic than before. For what is worth in our room we could only hear faint noise from the train station so it was acceptable Ultimately, it serves a purpose if you have an early/late flight

I’m staying at this hotel on business for last 2 months and it’s fantastically brilliant especially the shuttle bus guys very good service professionals and very friendly. The hotel itself is brilliant and rooms very big and spacious. I couldn’t fault it in anyway. Breakfast is delicious. Location is outstanding just across road from terminal 1. Will miss this after I finish my business trip in 2 weeks 😩

Great for staying before or after a flight out of Manchester especially. T1 The bus does go to the other ones too. Comfortable rooms and an average restuarant. Not the best but adequate. The bed and park deal was what we went for and the hotel kindly let us keep the car on site so it was where we left it before the trip. Such a relief having it was kept in a safe place.

This is the best airport if you're using it for an overnight stop at Manchester airport. It's 5 minutes walk from the Metro Link and the train station, and there is also a free shuttle bus to and from the stations. The hotel is modern, clean, and the staff are very good. There is a bar and restaurant to enjoy. Yasmin in the restaurant was most courteous and kind, and the food was of high quality. The breakfast is worth the money too, and starts early if you have an early flight out. The best selling point is the free shuttle bus. No other hotels operate one nowadays. Tony and Lukasz are great fun, and efficient operators. We have used them for twilight luggage check ins plus travel to the terminal for flights. The only request is that if you need an early shuttle before 0900 please book a slot with the hotel, otherwise it's a regular service. The hotel does also offer in some of its packaged free parking. Last year we were away for a week, so parked next to the hotel for free. That's worth a couple of hundred quid in itself. We wouldn't go anywhere else now.

Short stay there. My stay at the Clayton Hotel in Manchester was a deeply disappointing experience. Upon arrival, I was informed that my reservation could not be located, and this issue persisted for approximately an hour at the reception. This ordeal was both frustrating and inconvenient, leaving me with a negative impression of the hotel. Regrettably, I was ultimately forced to leave without being able to check in, which was far from the seamless and pleasant experience I had anticipated. This lack of organization and communication regarding reservations left much to be desired. In conclusion, my stay at the Clayton Hotel in Manchester was marred by a disheartening and frustrating reservation mishap. I would advise future guests to confirm their reservations well in advance to avoid a similar situation.

Thought we would give it a try. Went to restaurant and waited 20 minutes not to get served. Staff kept saying they were coming and only a few people in. Walked out and went to the airport pub which was fantastic. Spent most of the day there and were warmly welcomed. Back to the radisson next year for us. The hotel transfer guy's were fantastic.

Nice stay overall. Strange bar service, we sat outside as it was a nice day, all tables have a QR code and told to order at table, no bar service. We ordered drinks a few times and all brought out to the table however at one point a member of staff said we have to collect drinks from the bar once ordered on the app. In my opinion it's either table service or not! Why have an app if people have to go to the bar anyway. Despite the member of staff insisting drinks have to be collected they kept been delivered to tables anyway. Also told no food outside yet people still ordered and received food outside

Just had a thoroughly enjoyable one night stay at The Clayton Hotel on Manchester Airport (our third visit). Having been severely delayed coming back from holiday last month and unable to use the room booking, the hotel kindly let us move the date to yesterday which was actually our wedding anniversary. We were extremely impressed with all aspects of the hotel. All the staff were excellent, very attentive and helpful, everywhere was spotlessly clean, the food in the restaurant, including breakfast, was lovely and the room was delightful. Such a comfortable bed!! A big thank you to the hotel for the room upgrade, it was a lovely surprise and really made our stay a little extra special 😊

Family of 4 staying at the hotel, it was lovely, rooms nice and big, beds were comfy. The shuttle bus is a brilliant thing, the guys were so friendly and helpful. Only 4 stars as the service in the bar was slow and waitress didn't seem interested in being there. Reception staff on both check in and out were lovely. Would definitely come back again 🙂

Lovely hotel staff were exceptional all very helpful. And can I just give a big thank you to the young lady that was on the concierge desk when we arrived when I advised her that I had problems with my hip she said I will change your room nearer to the lift then arrange for pick up to the hotel 10/10. Also the young lady in the restaurant dark hair attractive again 10/10. Thoroughly enjoyed my over night stay

The reception staff and courtesy bus driver l would give 5* but the F+B department was a disaster. We ate evening meal in the bar. We had to find staff to take the order. Food was brought to the table and waitress said " l suppose you need cutlery!" No : l always eat bangers and mash with my fingers! We wanted dessert again we needed to find someone to take the order. Didn't wait to ask someone for the bill, we just went directly and paid at the bar. Food was tasty just the service was poor.

Unable to log in online. Room and first floor carpet in corridor 'tired'. Kettle not working. Took connection to reception. Still not working when we left. Many staff working in the bar, but had to wait a long time to be served. Sparkling water was nearly flat. Given another that was nearly flat. Had to send soup back, it only lukewarm. Main course good. Brekfast was good. Staff were pleasant. Thanks.

Great hotel, location, staff and food cannot fault our stay at this hotel. If flying out of Manchester airport I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel. It had some of the best food we have ever had at any airport or Port stay. Staff were lovely, service was great rooms were comfortable, this hotel had everything you could wish for to start off your vacation, transfers to all 3 terminals were fast and included in your hotel. Have already recommended it to my travel agent for any guests he may have that need to fly out of Manchester.

Recently stayed overnight for an early flight out to the Greek islands, and the room although comfortable was very warm and No Airconditioning. The staff were all very friendly and the transfer drivers exceptional both taking us to the Terminal and when we returned. They deserve some praise. Welldone transfer drivers, hotel, sort the Air con. Thank you

Perfect place to stay when flying from Manchester. We stayed the night before we flew to America. We had a beautiful room and a fantastic meal. A great nights sleep before jumping on the hotel’s shuttle bus which takes you to terminal 2 in under 5 minutes. The drivers are excellent especially Karl who collected us on the day we arrived back. A really nice bloke who could not do enough for us. It was the perfect way to finish our holiday. The car was returned to the hotel the day before so we popped into reception to collect our keys and we were on the way home in no time. We would highly recommend the Clayton in Manchester to anyone who wants a safe relaxing place to stay prior to your holiday who very importantly look after your car safety while you enjoy yourself. Five Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We stayed here the night before a flight and we are so glad we did. Having checked our bags in the night before we enjoyed a beautiful meal in the restaurant. Even though it was very busy we didn't have to wait long to be served. The rooms were very comfortable and we had a great sleep. There is a free shuttle bus to the airport which was only a few minutes away. A relaxing start to the holiday.

Good location for the airport, with a really good shuttle service. Hotel is clean and fresh. No air conditioning in the family room we stayed in. Only one pillow each, with the only spare additional pillow not having a pillowcase on. With 4 of us staying in the family room, it seems strange to only be provided with 2 bath towels. The one pillow each situation was the biggest issue, though. Overall, a decent option for an overnight stay between flights.

We stayed park and ride. It's the nearest hotel to to 'park and go' so just a short walk after dropping your bags at the hotel for a quick stop over. The 4.45am shuttle was included to our terminal 3. Lovely welcome. Very nice room, clean and spacious. Large screen TV. Tea, coffee (including decaf coffee) and biscuits. We didn't get to taste any food here due to time scales but everything looked impeccable. Recommended.

Had a park and fly stay with the Clayton whilst we went away. Hotel was very good, the food was typically slightly expensive, and the parking and service was superb. A hassle free start and end to a holiday. Much better than a meet and greet where you can relax before and be assured your car is waiting for you upon return.

Arrived at 6pm Christmas Day. We were greeted by a friendly staff member. Although we hadn't booked a table we were able to sit down and eat in the restaurant. We ate pizza. I would definitely order it again. The pizza was freshly made and very tasty. The rooms are large with a comfortable bed. The sound from the extremely close airplanes can only just be heard in the room. Parking in the hotel carpark while we are away is extremely convenient too. The hotel was easy to find and park.

We went to the Manchester airport Clayton Hotel to meet international guests who stayed at the hotel overnight before returning home... as a family of 5 we were welcomed and served as equal to all the guests and all our requirements were catered for with politeness and willingness. The restaurant area was clean and airy with lovely toilets... would definitely recommend!... food prices are on the High end but portion sizes are generous!

We thought the overnight rate for the hotel rate was value for money. However, in my opinion, there is an element of exploitation about UK airport's which all businesses on the site participate in. For instance our taxi driver advised that the hotel charged a £10 fee for access to the hotel reception drop off which obviously we would, not unreasonably, be charged for, £10 to deliver paying customers? Drinks and dining at the hotel was also quite expensive, a couple of drinks and dinner in the bar costing as much as the room and the quality of meals served was not great. The discounted £14 per head buffet breakfast was good, plenty of choice in a relaxed atmosphere which got us off to a good start.

  • 3/5 Ms. P. 9 months ago on Google
I found the rooms clean and employees friendly and very helpful. This hotel offers no amenities. It was not my first choice where I would stay. It was very close to the airport, and since this was an overnight stay. It was sufficient. The airport could do with some renovation.

Booked a room for overnight stay for me and my husband in preparation for our trip to the Philippines. Prior to arrival to the hotel, messages were sent to me by the hotel so that I could check in online if i wanted to - which I did. The process was smooth and straightforward, and I was even provided details of amenities and services included and expected from my booking. Among one of the many, they offered 24hour complimentary transfers from the hotel to the airport and vice-versa - which was part of what made me think of booking them in the first place. We got off from Manchester Airport Train Station and was fortunate enough to see the transfer van outside when we came. The driver willingly accommodated us and was very pleasant, too! Upon arrival to reception, we were greeted warmly with smiles and information about breakfast times and shuttle bus times. The room and the bathroom were both spotless and immaculate! Nothing to fault! When we got settled in the room, reception even gave us a courtesy call to see if everything was to our liking, and encouraged us to let them know if we needed assistance of any kind. Absolutely great service! Wanting to stay again - for longer!

Booked a deluxe room the night before an early morning flight, and to leave my car for the week I was away. Very competitive price, in fact it worked out cheaper than other airport car parking, shuttle bus took me to check in my baggage the night before so it was straight through security next morning. Rooms are very comfortable and staff extremely helpful. We will use Clayton hotel again.

Great hotel very impressive. Comfy room pre flight for my family. Good price with the inclusive parking that was right on the doorstop. In hotel take advantage of any food offers they may have as the aviator bar is a bit expensive in my opinion for what you get

  • 2/5 Thomas E. 9 months ago on Google
The price and quality of the food is a shame. Also, no fridges in the rooms so you can’t buy and store food to curb this expense. The availability of the wifi intermittent. Location is good - both for those requiring access to the airport as well as to the city (approx 20 minutes by train).

  • 2/5 Andrew G. 9 months ago on Google
Disappointing given the price. Bed was awful, clearly mattress was far beyond its use by date. Pillows flat, yet somehow rock hard. We had a room with a twin bed and a single, with three occupants and towels and accessories only set out for two persons. We’d have had a better sleep in the airport terminal. Nevertheless, staff were friendly and shuttle to the terminal was handy.

Took a Junior Suite for the first time for a slightly longer stay 28 hours. It was not worth it imo. The extra space was small. The place was getting a little tired. Reception was prompt and helpful as well as efficient. Breakfast serve yourself plentiful and of good quality. Lunch and Dinner good if a little expensive. Service very good to the table ordering at the bar less impressive.

The staff, especially the shuttle bus drivers, were incredibly accommodating and supportive. We were pleasantly surprised to discover the complimentary pickup service from Manchester Airport when we reached out for directions. Shortly after our inquiry, the shuttle bus promptly arrived, demonstrating the efficiency of the service. The rooms were impeccably clean and furnished with everything we needed. The shuttle bus drivers were exceptional; not only did they assist with loading and unloading our luggage, but they also provided precise guidance to the EasyJet check-in gate. This was particularly beneficial as it was our inaugural experience departing from Manchester Airport.

Excellent from drinks and evening meal after an easy check in late afternoon for an early morning flight to another easy check in late at night on return with a lovely breakfast and service before checking out. Excellent shuttle service to the terminals and train station with friendly drivers and clean rooms with comfortable beds just what you need after travelling

Smooth self check in with very friendly staff to assist. Excellent transfer bus to airport. Again driver was very polite and helpful. Room was spacious and bed comfortable but room had seen better days with chipped mugs, dented door and peeling plastic on toilet seat.

I love everything about the hotel. Staff are professional, helpful, and constantly smiling, rooms are huge and clean, bathroom amenities need a bit of improvement, however the hygienic standards are highly respected, the view was not bad, location was next to the train station (10 minutes walk) and 10 minutes drive to the airport, but no restaurants or coffee shops nearby, bo grocery, if you wake up hungry at night you can only order room service from a limited overnight menu with overpriced items. Overall, it was a delightful experience !

Room was massive for little old me on a solo business trip, nice and clean. The inclusion of a tower fan was very welcome. The airport noise didn't bother me that much until early hours of the morning but I did have my window open so maybe consider that if you're staying here. Breakfast was great, not too busy either. Decent offering of buffet English, continental and fruits/cereals/pastries. Evening meal, I had a rare 10oz steak with chips and an IPA to wash it down. £37 total, well worth the price. Steak was cooked to perfection and great quality meat. Checking in and out was relatively painless, quite a queue on the check in but wasn't waiting more than 10 minutes. Only thing I could really gripe about is the QR codes in the bar on the tables didn't work for my device (and many others from what I could tell)
