Decent meal, it’s definitely one of those style over substance places though. The food looks good, but doesn’t taste nearly as good as it photographs, not that it tastes bad. Basically, it wasn’t worth the asking price and the place is sort of overhyped. I feel like, with here, you’re paying for the vibe of the joint rather than the quality/taste of the food. With saying that, if you’re someone that doesn’t go out for fine dining very often you probably won’t notice and will think this is great, each to their own I guess. The staff were great though & the ambiance was nice. Definitely not the worst choice you could make.

Visited here tonight for the first time. The place is beautiful. The staff are awesome and very friendly. Great services. Had the wagu and honestly was amazing. All the food was well presented and tasted absolutely 10/10. The candy rice I wasn't a fan of but that took no marks off this review as everything else was on point

Overall, it was a great experience. The food was great, specially Japanese Black Wagyu was exquisite. The lobster was really good and well-seasoned as well. We ordered a variety of small plates and Dim Sum, but my favourites were 'Seven Spice Seared Tuna' and 'Wild Mushroom Spring Rolls'. Cocktails were nice, my favourites were Zhanshi (coffee-based) and The Great Snow (Grey Goose Vodka-based). Staff were all really nice and friendly, specially Cas. Highly recommended.

My partner and I chose Tattu for our fourth-anniversary celebration and had a wonderful experience overall. The food was truly exceptional, with each dish presented in an tasteful manner and delivering exquisite flavours that impressed us. The restaurant's decor and ambiance added to the special atmosphere of the evening. However, we did encounter a minor bump in our otherwise smooth evening. While relishing our meal, an incident occurred. The table staff seated a couple accompanied by a toddler at the adjacent table. While we hold deep respect for family dining, the unexpected presence of a child in such an intimate dining setting felt like an intrusion that was unappreciated. Considering the premium we paid to savor an exceptional meal and celebrate our special occasion, the intrusion was unappreciated. Despite this, our time at Tattu was memorable. The artful presentation and outstanding taste of the dishes, along with the restaurant's overall ambiance, made it a notable anniversary dinner.

Both myself and my partner celebrated my birthday at Tattu and it was absolutely divine! Our waiter, Edwin, was brilliant and it was so refreshing that he knew the menu inside and out, took care of us the whole duration, explained the menu beautifully and nothing was ever too much to ask for. I have wanted to go to Tattu for some time, and as we are from London, the Manchester restaurant isn’t exactly round the corner, so when making our trip to Manchester, we was hoping Tattu lived up to its reviews and pictures online. All thanks to the amazing food and our waiter Edwin, I would highly recommend Tattu to anyone visiting Manchester! We hope to see you soon - and hopefully we can be seated in Edwin’s section!

I've always been wanting to try tattu for quite some time now. Especially knowing that there are only four (4) restaurants in the UK and they have yet to open their 5th in London which makes it even more in demand. The Emperor's Choice Menu is what I had and boy I felt so stuffed I couldn't finish some of the plates. The food was really good and flavourful. The plates kept coming and surprising each and every course. From what I gather, I believe the Manchester branch is their first restaurant, although not really looking like a flagship restaurant when I browsed through all the other three (3), especially eyeing the one in Edinburgh, but the interiors here were as I would've hoped for. The sakura tree looked stunning as did the anchors with the rose backdrop downstairs. I just didn't like how small the table was. There's barely enough space to move around and quite accident-prone. Also the dismissive attitude from the receptionist downstairs by the entrance was definitely unwelcomed. And despite that I really enjoyed the experience, I wasn't compelled enough to come back. Perhaps at the upcoming London branch.

Food was fine but ultimately no better than a good Chinese restaurant which would have cost a fraction of the price of the tasting menu and likely had better fried rice. The white chocolate dessert was the best part of the meal, sadly not enough to ever warrant a revisit. Atmosphere also lacking unfortunately.

We booked quite late for a 7pm dinner and had an amazing visit. We opted for the Emperor’s set menu and had the Wagu dishes substituted without fuss for our 2 non-beef eaters. Every dish was exceptional in taste, presentation and portion size. We had a few cocktails which were all very good. Devon was our host and she was lovely, making our visit very memorable. We will be back and request Devon!

We visited recently for a 40th Birthday. We arrived early and went for drinks. 4 cocktails came out at £43. We were invited upstairs and to our table for our meal at the time we had booked. Natalie our server was top notch. Very attentive and knowledgeable. The food was absolutely superb! A tapas style approach is encouraged as well as trying all the dishes that are ordered. The food really was sublime with so many flavours! It's not by any means a cheap place to visit, if you have seen the menu, you know this, but the atmosphere and the food made it all worthwhile..... For a special occasion!

TATTU: 5 stars food, 5 stars service! Last night, with a group of friends, I have finally experienced the magic of Tattu. It is not just that they serve exquisite & delicious dishes, and that they have a great selection of wines & other drinks, it is also about a warm welcoming from the very beginning till the end that made our night really special! I hope that nobody feels "left out" (you shouldn't), if I mention Abbi in particular: thank you for taking so good care of us, explaining the menu, making perfect suggestions and providing valuable advice. WE WILL BE BACK soon! :-)

Had a lovely anniversary dinner at Tattu Manchester. We were served by the lovely Devon. She helped us with the menu taking into account our dietary requirements. All food items were excellent and so was the ambience. We'd definitely go again.

Had come here as a surprise post birthday dinner . The place was fantastic, the staff and customer service was excellent, shoutout to Andrew. He went through the menu with us told us the best things and how to order for the best experience. We had the fixed menu . The food was excellent, all the courses just better than the previous one. Our food was presented in a beautiful way and the best part was the dessert. Will definitely come back . The food and customer service were the highlight of my day. Thank you Tattu

Had an absolutely incredible time celebrating our anniversary/wedding countdown. Edwin was an excellent server, so knowledgeable and friendly and really made a wonderful evening so much more special. The food was outstanding, our favourite being the beef fillet with caramel sauce - but each dish was delightful! Can't wait to visit again.

The food here was amazing:) really recommend the wagyu dumpling and barbecue chicken. Perfectly cooked with so much flavour. The food portion is on the smaller side, don’t go when you’re starving

I’ve come here twice now! Both times for my birthday(with a twist), Tattu is such a beautiful place to visit aesthetically pleasing in every way. The receptionist Cally was so lovely. We booked the wrong seating area and requested a different area instead to which we were told was also fine. Our waiter Beth/Bethan was absolutely amazing, she guided us through the menu, was so down to earth and made us feel so comfortable. She was definitely the superstar of the night as we saw her speeding around serving a group of about 30 people as well as balancing out looking after my table. Unfortunately for me I had come in with such an awful migraine i wasn’t able to enjoy the experience as much, anyone with migraines would know that they distort your taste, make you feel nauseas upon eating anything at all and just completely ruin your day. Beth/ Bethan was so amazing, constantly refilling the water which I was absolutely dying for the whole evening so it was so great that she was super attentive to our table, she checked up on us and made sure everything was okay, I cannot be grateful enough for her amazing service honestly. When I was feeling better the next day we made the decision to come back again and properly enjoy our experience at tattu as there was a lot that we missed out on, and I know that I would have enjoyed all that I had eaten the night before. We once again saw Cally at reception who was equally as friendly. She always seems so busy but manages to be so accommodating and welcoming still which is so lovely! We were then served by the wonderful Edwin for the night - one thing to note about tattu is that the service is just outstanding - he too looked after us and made sure we were well accommodated to. He had great knowledge of the menu and was willing to recommend good foods for us if we were unsure. He constantly checked up on the table - but not in a way that was too much - to make sure we were all okay (once again in a crazy busy restaurant) it was just such an amazing experience. The food was as fantastic as I was expecting it to be. Being migraine free was heavenly, the food quality was spectacular I enjoyed every single thing that I ate. The presentation was beautiful I was just in awe of everything. Edwin heard that we had come back literally the next day due to not being able to fully enjoy the experience the night prior and was so kind to gift a small dessert with a sparkler that said “happy birthday, attempt 2” it was so nice and made me so happy I just had a great experience overall. I wish I could have gotten some more names as there was another gentleman who delivered us the desserts each time who was also very friendly and remembered us from the night before and then there was another lady with Cally that took us to our table on the first night. Overall we had just the most fantastic experience and we would recommend tattu to anyone. The service was immaculate and we definitely hope to come back again!

We both enjoyed the set menu for £75 each. Great selection of food, generous portions. The tuna and caviar was superb and also the steak. The desserts were also very interesting and definitely unique! Cocktails were something special as well and made it a night to remember. Definitely worth a visit, highly recommended for a special occasion & that’s coming from us & our very high standards. Will return! Thank you

The most amazing food. Service is a bit slow which meant some of the food was a little cold. Which surprised me cause watching the staff it seemed to me all about table turnover! We could see the food sitting on the service bench waiting to be delivered but it still gets 4 stars as the food was delicious. The scallops, rock shrimp and steak were cooked to perfection.

Very much impressed with the high standard and quality of food and customer service. Every body there is so lovely especially Stephano and Olivia who were absolutely fabulous and made our experience memorable by being so kind, welcoming and pleasant. It is always busy there but food comes quickly and you don't wait long time to enjoy the delicious tasty dishes. I highly recommend visiting this elegant and classy restaurant. Thank you for looking after us. Perfect place for celebrating any special occasion. ❤️

Firstly, the atmosphere, visuals and the staff were amazing. We were sat upstairs just across from the blossom tree, which is definitely a feature. When it comes to the drinks, they're good measure and go down easy. The food itself was tasty, full of flavour, does it warrant the price?, personally I don't think so due to portion sizes offered. The chicken dish for example, a couple of small chunks of chicken, mostly peppers and onions, tasted amazing, but didn't come with a side of its own either. Definitely a high end restaurant and worth the experience for sure, sadly I can't see a return on the cards for myself though. Just not my personal cup of tea.

Amazing atmosphere and great service during my solo dinner last night. I was impressed by the aesthetics of this restaurant. It felt young, sexy and elegant. I was very well taken care of. Philipp was the absolute best and did great in recommending dishes and drinks. He made me feel very welcome and he even recommended an amazing bar to go to after my dinner. The food was nice. Dim sum were great! My main course (fish tom yum) was ok. Overall, I had a great time and I would definitely go there again as well for date night. Recommend!

Beautiful ambience. Lovely service however, the food wasn’t as good as I’d expect it to be. Rice was basically tasteless. The first chicken order was more on the salty end than spicy.. had to be changed. Honestly didn’t like the food. Asides that every other thing was lovely.

Absolutely the best Chinese restaurant in Manchester with a modern take on traditional recipes. They have a large small plates menu to share in a group or not, there cocktails are well balanced and go the extra mile in presentation. Service was very friendly and made us feel comfortable and was always there to give advice on what to order. Can't wait to go again.

Fine dining. This place has my heart. I have been twice to celebrate two special occasions and it has outperformed everytime. The staff are wonderful, friendly and knowledgeable. Drinks are yum and strong. I have tried the set menu and it was worth every penny. The wagyu is outstanding. My favourite side is the candy rice. I still think about it even months after my visit. You cannot go to Tattu without trying the beef short ribs. They were 10/10. The scallops also surprised me. I wanna go back again soon!

Fantastic food, engaging decor and great service. You do pay for it but for a special occasion it is superb. They didn't have the Scallops but the River Shrimps replacement did not disappoint and were, for me, the best dish of the Emperors Choice meal (and that's saying something considering my love of desserts)! Speaking of desserts, the Chocolate & Hazelnut Pagoda was gorgeous and such a generous portion that we were unable to finish the Dragon Egg after all the lovely food!

Fantastic reception & great high quality food. I came here to celebrate a special occasion and the customer service was 10/10 👍. The food was very tasty, well presented & cooked to perfection. All our needs were catered to, and considering the size of my group, they all went above & beyond and did an amazing job all night long! All of the staffs were very welcoming & fast to deal with our requests. Thank you for looking after us and providing us a memorable night to remember. ❤️

One of the best dining experiences I’ve had. We went as a family and all had the Emperor’s Choice. All the dishes were fresh and enjoyable, especially the Japanese Black Wagyu. The best steak I’ve ever had in my opinion. The service was immaculate and Edwin our host was extremely knowledgeable about the entire menu. He gave us recommendations based on customers, staff and his own preferences. He excelled in customer service. He should be a role model to any aspiring host/waiter/server. We will definitely be coming back.

On my birthday, today (and how many say that, when it isn’t) a complete unknown, made my day special. With the sign in the window not lit, we didn’t find it easily. Once in, had the opportunity to leave coats and shopping safely and were led to a selection of lovely seats. Starting with lovely cocktails chose the moon stand lunch. A great choice, explained and served implacably throughout and the presentation and taste were great. Taking my word for my birthday, I received a complementary cocktail and firework lit, fortune cookie. Reassuringly not cheap but worth every penny.

We had a wonderful time here! Delicious food, amazing drinks and exceptional service (especially by Edwin, our fantastic server whose attention to detail was impeccable and recommendations were spot on). Thank you for making our anniversary so lovely. A beautiful restaurant we look forward to returning to.

From the moment we arrived to leaving everything was perfect. The food was absolutely phenomenal. As we don’t drink alcohol they still made sure we had the experience of the drink and got to try the skull without the alcohol. We are already planning of coming back and getting a table booked. Thank you for having this in out door step ❤️

Really delicious food with a unique dining experience. The deserts especially are a dramatic work of art. Vegan options pretty limited but tasty. Expensive but great for a special occasion. The staff all make a special effort to chat with guests and gave us a lovely firework and cookie for our wedding anniversary. Our Greek waiter (sadly I can't remember his name) was excellent. I can't remember having a server making so much effort to give my husband and I such a lovely and memorable dining experience. Didn't drink alcohol so can't comment much on the drinks but the cocktails looked lovely. Service charge is included in the bill.

We have dined at Tattu a few times and it’s always been a great experience, the food and Staff are fantastic! We dined on a Friday evening, lovely decor and ambiance as always, also I think they had a live DJ that evening which was great! Good menu with plenty of choice not to overwhelming our favourite plates were the WAGYU & ROYAL KOI GAU (Black cod) DUMPLINGS, the EGG FRIED RICE & WAGYU RIB EYE STEAK. We tried a few of the cocktails ‘the lucky number 8’ was a Nice twist on an old fashioned! (recommended for the whisky lovers!) Last but not least the ASIAN PEAR STICKY TOFFEE PUDDING is delicious! Not to heavy nor too sweet!

  • 5/5 Ree S. 1 year ago on Google
We ordered the black cod croquettes, aromatic duck spring rolls, beef short rib for starters, barbecue Chinese chicken and wok fired angry bird with jasmine rice for our mains and were blown away by the flavours. Leah’s service was phenomenal, she was extremely knowledgeable on the menus and recommended options when we weren’t sure. She was really thorough when it came to everything and kept us updated on when our food was due to be served. She was brilliant at communicating my allergy needs and conveyed this to the chefs and kitchen staff. The food was incredible & strawberry mojito & daiquiri cocktails but Leah’s service is what made our night!

Lovely experience, I came here to celebrate my graduation. We were lucky to have Edwin as our host. He was welcoming and accommodating. And gave great recommendations. Easily one of the best experiences I've had in a restaurant thanks to Edwin

Quality cocktails at Tattu. Restaurant was nice enough but service and food were slow throughout. Our waiter changed part was through the meal which helped but we had a 3pm slot but our mains didn't come until 4.50pm... Food was good but on the pricey side for the quality you got. Would recommend for cocktails but not if you fancy a quick meal

Excellent place, fantastic atmosphere, delectable food that we couldn't get enough of, to the point where we kept ordering more. The staff were so bubbly and nice, when one new hire who hadn't tasted the dish we were having, we offered for her to have some, after approval, she had a bite and loved it. She made a birthday party very special. Tattu, has a reputation, and it met it and excelled it. It is expensive, but worth it.

We had a great experience. All staff were welcoming and accommodating. Special mention to Devon, who made some great recommendations on what food to pick as it was our first time. She struck the perfect balance of being attentive without being overbearing. We will definitely be back!
