The works is the right place to shop for books and craft products, wether for yourself or your little ones. DIY products available there are of good quality. Its worth the money.

Great book store with amazing cheap prices...great alternative to Waterstones helpful staff too.

Some really good bargains as usual but the service was very poor. We visited a few weeks ago. Me and my wife stood for a good 4-5 minutes waiting to be served as two members of staff chatted away. A third member of staff who was obviously taking the brunt of the work had to tell the other two chatting that there were customers waiting. The lad that served us wasn't pleasant at all. Seemed irritated he had to cut his chitchat short. No manners at all. Served us and straight away went back to chatting with the other worker. I feel sorry for the third woman having to pick up the slack of the other two.

Good value Bookshop with the all year round permanent SALE !!! ,, nevertheless as limited as the stock is there is the odd gem to be found. Stock a wide range of crafting materials and art products…

Was going to leave a good review as I love the works their prices for books are amazing however I just saw the previous review and that’s very disgusting of the staff to behave that way, always thought they were a bit ‘off’ but I only ever go in to collect online orders. But I will leave a bad review to stand in solidarity with the precious review where a man was racially profiled.

They didn't have brown parcel paper on a roll. But, they have plenty of other discounted items.

The shop has great variety of art and craft materials and toys. I always like to visit this place as it's quite near to my residence and they always come up with some discounts and offers. I would highly recommend The Works to everyone, especially for bulk shopping.

Brilliant store and helpful staff

If I could give this place less than one star I would. This place is absolutely disgusting. One certain staff member named Jackie racially profiled a black, clearly autistic, man. She called the police on him accusing him of theft despite him expressing absolutely zero suspicious behaviour. He was clearly special needs and it took him longer to complete tasks - anyone experienced would be able to see that - but rather than taking into account the way he was acting as clear special needs she decided to racially profile him and accuse him of theft. the police cornered and kept questioning the poor man. If Jackie isn’t capable of being able to treat everyone equally and the patience to deal with special needs customers she should not be employed at all. I didn’t even see any of their other staff members helping him. Definitely will not be returning knowing the staff are racist and are too pathetic to treat someone with basic human decency.
