Good, inexpensive choice of clothing. Mens waist sizes could do with starting at 28" as I have 2 sons who need mens sizes but have slim teenage waists. Also one of the more popular sizes in shirts (15.5") are rarely on the shelves - they need to order more of them.

Today I went to your store,,and was more than dissapionted with your staff and rudeness from a female named Diane,,and Gemma...I left buying nothing due to this which ment you lost sales of £100....attitude and tone of both ladies was awful...I was on my way back from Altrincham and needed to replace a hand towel of yours...I went to my local Store Stockport and bought 2 coats skirt jumper and my towel....your loss was Stockport gain. Friendly helpful staff there

I used this store today and half the staff didn't even bother to have a face masks on and one of them had a really bad cough and she was working on the pay by card tills I couldn't wait to get out if your going to catch covid that's the place half the customers didn't have masks on either I would avoid at all cost if that's the standard some of the staff are setting no wonder the customers seem to think you don't have to bother with masks in here!

I took something back for a refund. I didn't know sale items were only refunded on gift cards. I stated, it didn't say on the returns info, at the till. Nice lady served me. Then, another one piped up nastily, "it's on the receipt". I didn't like to point out in front of everyone that, I am so very badly sighted that, I cannot read the tiny type in their receipt's. Very rude woman. Also, somebody was caught stealing. They let her go. Crazy policies!

Always a good experience. Really nice shop set up and easy to navigate. Self service and assistant checkouts. Prices in Matalan always reasonable. Lots of parking.

It's a lot more expensive than it used to be for a "budget shop". I get inflation but I'll stick to Primark if I need shopping on a budget, the standard of clothing isn't much different. A lot if the sizes I wanted were not in store and neither was the online clothing. Pretty disappointed if honest 😕

Genuinely a great store all round. From home to school uniforms. The store is always filled with a great variety in each department. Great quality and prices. The store is always being tided, stocked and cleaned. The staff are very helpful and polite. Lovely store.

Went in to see about bedding. They didn't have what I wanted but I ended up spending £68. Matalan is a brilliant shop with good merchandise for all, including from newborn to 99 years old.

They had what I wanted and the new self service checkouts mean the queue moves much quicker than it used to..

Decent sized store but I feel that there is some prejudice in here that I have noticed on several occasions. The last time I was in here a English customer walked out and the alarms went off, the female worker on the security desk didnt do anything. After when Im at the self check out, this same female worker stands behind me watching me. I work in a highly professional job and have no desire to steal but going by “looks” they probably would not have guessed this. It always happens in here and only in here, i mentioned it on another date to a male security guard and he said that he has noticed the staff here do it to “certain types of customers”. Note to management, this needs to be looked into and maybe your staff need training in this area. Especially in a day where social media is used to expose discrimination. I could easily of recorded the treatment I have every time I come in, along with my receipts as I pay for everything!

Needed pair of chino trousers for holiday. They have them. Decent quality to. They now have self serve which got me out without queing. Very pleased 😁

No service at check out. Only one person on customer service busy in returns or returned items. You have to scan, remove hangers and pack yourself. I spent nearly £300 and did not want to do it myself but I had to. Mentioned this to the manager who said you should not have to. Dear manager, you have no service on the tills. This is not a poor service. This is no service whatsoever whether you agree or not. Very disappointed.

Is still good value for money, even if compared to Tesco, Asda and other supermarkets in the area. It currently also has a sale on which makes it even more cost effective. The store was originally sat next to Tesco's, Wickes and pet stores which wasn't very inviting but now has an Aldi, Lidl and has become quite a well visited retail area of Altrincham called Bagley.

Each time I visit, nearly all clothing still on racks is either size S or M. Why don't they order in more of the popular sizes and less of the sizes no one wants?

Currently waiting in queue. With goods to buy and a collection only 2 on normal till and self checkouts empty. Maybe get more staff that are busy putting out stock for busy periods in day 😡

Today I spent over £100 in your store which may I add I very nearly didn't, reason being I stood in the que along with about 10 others for a good 20 minutes with 1 cashier serving, at one point I asked one of the assistants would it be possible to open another till to help the young lady out...No!!!! Just no..she really didn't want to be there the face said it all, yes you have 4 self service tills but not everyone wants to pay by card..2 stars from me but 5 stars for Esther the young lady left to do it all on them tills, what a absolute dream she is, she still managed a smile for every customer before me and me once I got served...I hope she sees this because honestly you are wasted there....

Currently closed due to coving. But is generally a good store for lots of different departments.

Shocked at how much Men's clothing had shrunk in favour of women and children.

I Bought six pairs of jeans from Matalan and with in 6 months 3pair the zip broke and the other 3 pairs the stitching under the groin came away. And would not exchange as I did not have the receipt and in November I bought a coat and yet again the stitching on the coat has started to come apart now take my custom elsewhere frome now on if you buy cheek the stitching on everything

Returned items and was told I would receive an email confirming the returns. Still waiting for email and I cant prove I have because of the way they are dealing with returns.

Dont bother with click n collect its terrible, 1 counter for collections/returns - i waited for 25 mins still with 3 people in my line, while there was 3 self checkouts and 1 sales cashier, emailed the CS to refund my goods

Friendly staff, very helpful, but the shelves are often a bit bare in places and they don't always stock a big range of sizes. There's a baby room which is spacious. Sells homewares, toys and soft furnishings as well as clothes and shoes.

Not too expensive and clothes good quality. Found underwear that fits like a glove. Bikinis just out, get them while you can (I did). Home ware on trend, and have collaborations with more expensive designers. Recommended

Shocking customer service. I queued 35 minutes yesterday to pay for one item. There was only two people infront of me in the queue but the staff on the till were that slow . I will not bother shopping here again. People behind me in the queue were saying the same thing. When I got to the counter I had a 20 percent code and she was in two minds to put it through when it was valid and in date. Terrible store . I was going to do my Christmas shopping here as to be fair there are some gorgeous gift sets . However will be spending my money elsewhere.

I’m spend £100 today with my family here a lady told me you have keep your three years old boy in the car because he’s messing up the shop,absolutely unbelievable how can I keep my 3years old kid on the car, I think she was racist because to many familys was there as same time to my family But she only told to my family

Had to pick up parcel. Waited such a long time in que. Stood with my walking stick for app 10 mins. Only one person behind desk. One person just standing around now and again directing people to pay at machine. Another was wandering about moving clothing on rails. Won't be buying on click n collect again.
