7/7/23- My experience making freddo the frog was so good. I think we had ellena. I’m not sure. Her tag said enthusiastic [ellena?] and 5+ years of service. She had straight eyebrows and maybe a Septum piercing, brown hair. Anyways, she was amazing! Although I’m clearly 20 years old, she didn’t skip any of the steps, and made the experience so magical and fun. I wish every staff member did this though, i feel like when they see a guy, they just stuff the bear and take it straight to the till without offering to do any of the bits that make it feel special. This is exactly what happened when cinnamoroll was bought 3/7/23

I highly recommend the build a bear experience they offer. We bought this for our daughter and she loved it. You buy a voucher and the recipient also gets a lanyard and an apron so they can get immersed in the experience. A dedicated member of staff will guide and help them to go through the whole process. My little girl loved being part of the build-a-bear team, even helping sweep the loose filling on the floor, replenishing the filling fluff….. and filling her own bear. Fran was really attentive and engaging. It was a great 1 to 1 experience for my daughter and the final cost of accessories and spare outfit came in at the cost of the voucher with no extra payment needed. Although this will depend on the bear chosen. Highly recommended.

The staff were constantly up selling and trying to get us to spend more time in the store even after we mentioned we were in a rush. When I said I didn’t want a heart the staff member tried to convince me. They attempted to get me to spend more time at the till to sign up for the build a bear family even tho we mentioned we were in a rush. After a 2 hour wait the staff didn’t try to make the long process any more fun or interesting for the children in the line and were pretty disappointing for a children’s shop overall. As much as I understand that at this time of year the shop can be pretty busy but they made the process longer and more tedious than it needed to me. Overall the experience has put me off ever coming back to this particular branch of build a bear

Don't get me wrong the staff here are great, but with all the addons they push on you when you're getting your bear stuffed it's a rip off. If you picked it earlier it might not be as bad, but they wait until you're there with your child . More than 90 pounds for two stuffed animals is too much.

Lovely experience for the kids, my only complaint is the up selling. When you're primary audience are young kids up selling is a dirty tactic. It's easy to trick a kid into buying something they don't want.

For a standard operating practice the staff have no clue how to organise customers and deliver a decent customer service. Staff far too busy chatting about their plans for Saturday night to help customers. You go through the steps get told stand over there to be told you're in the wrong place and now you've gone from no cueue to 5th and have to wait again because you waited in the wrong place. Watched time and again as others did exactly the same. Avoid this over priced nightmare at all costs.

Staff were very nice and talkative and willing to listen to my whole question before helping me out so they knew exactly what I needed and were willing to answer all the questions I had.

I have at least 10 build a bear from this place and they never disappoint with the service and enthusiasm. I am a disabled adult with love for BAB plush and the customisable experience; I always felt welcome at the Arndale store.

This is my local BAB since they have closed the other stores. I was on a day out with my fiance and decided just to look. I was after two Pokemon- Teddisura and Sylveon but I had seen they were only available online. I was super happy and shocked -I'd not budgeted for the cost of them!- to find them in store. (I'm guess it's just the bundles that are online only but you can find them instore after they have been released online for awhile.) Staff were really great and helpful. Also, supportive of my needs. I got a discount on pokemon and I do like the process of making the soft animals your own and getting to see them come to live. They were very short of staff though. The queue to get soft toys stuffed was like 40 min wait- luckily I just missed that- I saw people leaving and children who were getting bored misbehaving. Not much can be done but maybe the whole process needs to be sped up, more staff too. My Sylveon needed to be re-sewn up and that was handled really well. I'll be back to visit when new pokemon come out!

I think her name was Samayahh, I really do apologise if this is wrong but this was my first time seeing her there and she really did make my inner child feel safe. She was absolutely lovely, props to her.

Great staff, plenty of room. Just a shame they didn't have any Manchester United kits in for my teddy who had a Birthday on Boxing Day

Visited today. Had a great time until some absolute disgusting person came in to the shop, which was obviously full of children and their parents/guardians, and decided to start to shout whatever at the top of his voice and expose himself. Luckily enough one of the dad's escorted! him out of the shop while an employee and myself looked after the dads child who was deeply distressed. Well done to the all girl staff who were all so very young themselves, for remaining calm and went and sought out security.

Excellent experience for the children, picking the bears then stuffing and choosing the clothes and accessories. Staff were all friendly and welcoming. Great offer on when we visited 2 for £35 on the bears.

little bit expensive but i built the cutest bear ever 🥺🥺 the workers were really kind and they made it such a fun experience i was wondering if it’s possible to bring an old bear that has lost a bit of its stuffing and get it re-stuffed if that’s possible i’m definitely coming for christmas!

A wonderful happy place. For both children and grown up children alike. Went there today for a gift for my fiance and as always it put a smile on my face. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a gift for someone or simply have a Teddy bear obsession. 😀

Such a great shop, for kids and for adults. There are plenty of stuffed animals to choose from. The cheapest one (without accessories) is £12 I believe. You can add some sweet smells or even a heartbeat to your teddy bear for an additional £3 or so. It was my first time visiting a Build-A-Bear shop and I will definitely be back! Staff was very kind and helpful with making some decisions and filling the teddy bear.

Build a Bear is great. The making of the bear for kids and watching their faces as it comes together is priceless. The staff get them involved so that they think they made it themselves. The price of the bear is acceptable but once your little one starts looking around at clothes for their new mate then that's when it's recommended you do overtime at work!!

loved it, especially issi and the lady with an undercut and pink eyeshadow, they were so kind and helpful and made the experience so much better xx

The bear on its own was fine but the staff constantly asked my 5yr old grandson about all the add-ons including various inserts (that play a tune or say a phrase) an insert that has a particular smell... various items of clothing (to fully kit it out as Harry Potter could set you back at least £50 alone) a back pack like ruck sack to carry the bear around with which all obviously add up to extra costs....🤬 You could quite easily pay well in excess of £50-100 when you lump all the extras together 🤬🤬🤬🤬

I think the toys are reasonable priced for the size, and it's a great experience to get to make your friend. It's great there's ways to customise your friend too, and there's a great clothes selection for them.

Very poor customer service. Had to wait for the staff to finish talking to each other (not work related) multiple times to ask questions as no help was offered. They clearly saw us stood next to them but our group was ignored: There were so many staff stood around but nobody seemed interested in interacting with the kids or helping to sell. We walked out without bears and bought them online

This is a review from a 10 year old who went today. I loved it today we had lots of fun and it was an amazing experience. Betsy helped us out and that was very helpful. My dog Lilly loves him as you can see in one of the photos! All the staff when I was walking out said he was smart and that they loved him which put a even bigger smile on my face! His name was Austin. Also the photo is him.

Went to BAB in Arndale on Monday evening and it was very busy. I have sensory issues and was struggling. We spoke to Maddie who advised of a sensory opening hour the next morning. Which we missed. However when we did get to BAB on Tuesday it was quieter and I found it easier, we chose our bear (or in this case Axolotl) and Maddie recognised us then, she filled the bear up exactly how we wanted it. And despite the axolotl having an issue and needing replaceable - I have no complaints. All the staff were fantastic but Maddie was super helpful and kind.
