Incredibly disappointed with the security team here. They searched through my bags and treated me like I was stealing. My real problem - I didn't have £3 to buy a few bits to brighten up my day. Compassion and kindness from brands goes so much further than suspicion.

Having visited this store yesterday to make a a number of purchases the staff on the tills were excellent performing their duties efficiently and effectively in what is now one of the top 5 busiest Aldi stores in the UK. Unfortunately the small arrogant black guy on security with the big attitude was not so professional.. Having payed for all my purchases, as I left the store I was stopped by a small black guy who now know to be one of Aldi' s security (not wearing any identification or SIA Licence), he accused me of shoplifting and asked me to open my bag and show my receipt, to which I quite rightly refused as he watch me pay for all my items. Because I refused to cooperate with his demand, I was told I am barred from visiting this store. Unfortunately for this small black security guard, because he didn't identify himself he has failed to follow the requirements of his SIA licence. As a result, I shall ensure that your SIA licence is withdrawn as you were captured on our own CCTV. Aldi, you need to employ professional security... This is a perfect example as the saying goes. "If you pay peanuts for security, you get incompetent staff. 🐒. 😂

Always a busy and crowded store. However, its location and accessibility are great as you can get into from Market Street or inside the shopping centre. I also like the availability of self-service tills, which helps with queues and waiting time.

Very large store. They have good prices but lack variety. They have no options/section for gluten free vegan items. They also do not have a lot of basic things which you'd expect at a supermarket this big, like wet wipes or kitchen items.

Aldi is one of the busy and crowded supermarkets where you can get most of the groceries. Aldi offers a wide range of items, and ingredients are fresh and reasonably priced. I love their protein snacks and salmon as it's affordable and fresh. Hygiene wise can be improved, like the floors are pretty dirty and some sections look messy. They had many self-checkout kiosks which makes it easy and fuss free for introverts like me 😅

Nice shop has everything you need at good value staff are all nice I purchased some meat and some asparagus tips in there about a week ago and they left the secure it tags on the meat So the security guard pulled me on the way out but he was so nice The job was soon done looking at my receipt all good But was so nice respectful on doing this to me

Treated me like a thief, asked me to show my receipt and put everything I bought on the floor for him to check. Got a box of meat from Tesco, and he wanted my receipt from Tesco as well. Ridiculous. Will never go again.

I am a fan of Aldi in general and have shopped here for years - but recently the security staff have revealed themselves to be egotistical wannabe police officers with little to offer the world. Twice, recently, I have entered through the security barriers having bought items from other shops in the Arndale - no alarm went off - I then did my shopping in Aldi and on the other side of the shop the alarm goes off - I had no Aldi security tagged items in my bag from the shop - both times the security staff have held me back and make unload my heavy bag and dawdled with the whole process. I understand they have a job to do but for the love of god, employ people with some common sense and decency, rather than wannabe officers who just want to impose upon your day. One more episode like this and it'll will be a formal complaint from me and I'll never return to this particular branch.

First time seeing an Aldi in a mall setting. Can definitely be busy, but heaps of lanes open and also self check. Great selection, larger than normal store. Everything you could possibly need or want and more. Prices are unbeatable for quality and variety.

A wide range of choices of fruit. A rather rush supermarket for people to buy their groceries, not a chill hygienic place to shop. Also what a pity they got no membership card. Would recommend a chocolate mousse as dessert for gym enthusiasts, there’s proteins!!!

Is been 4 days in the area and I was doing shopping everyday. Came for a course and thought easy access and fast. Even introduced to the other girls in our course to come and do shopping guess what? I’m leaving today and I got all my stuff with me and I left it in front just to close the zip because during the time I was choosing what to get it was opened, and I heard a blonde young girl from the till telling me. - Did you pay for your chocolate‘s, they were all stuff left from the other days and all opened. I said yes and then she was carry on with her excuses but that is not a Customer Service the way she approached to the way she talked. She did offend me. I hope for you to fix these problems because it’s unfair .

Stupid store. Horrible manager hostile staffs. So inconsiderate. Uncultured and mannerless security people. Maybe when you shut down you'll learn your lesson. However just one staff stood out when she helped me get the trolley God bless her. This review is so that you change your stupid policy of not helping people keep their shopping while they go get some stuffs for convenience. Also your lift is always out of order and those lazy good for nothing security won't help. Especially that dark ugly short one. Always looking dumb. He doesn't seems to know his job. You need a lot of buckling up to do in that branch. 🙄.

I would rate this Aldi 0 out of 5 stars if it was possible on this system. This is due to the incident that happened today at around 7pm on Tuesday 23rd of January. Me and my sister were fasely accused of shop lifting by a body guard that was sat down at the time. Up on question as to why he suspected us he said that it was the where we walked from. We explained to him that we were at the tills and showed him the receipt. I want need see evidence as to why he suspected us. This behaviour is unproffessional and clearly demonstrates the lack of understanding of his role. Please train your staff Aldi as fasely accusing innocent customers goes against the Consumer Rights Act 2015. If this issue is not resloved I take legal action as I won't stand for this mistreatment. We are both very disappointed in the service. Train your staff in the protcols that they should follow as this is clearly a systematic and staff failing customer. Unacceptable for this to happen in 2024.

Great store. I love these samples of discontinued well known brands, that I would be unlikely to buy at the normal High Street price. Great plentiful choice arranged in size order unlike this type of shop, which can normally be like a bazaar! My wife for example loves to shop at TkMaxx, as its great for the ladies and perfumes, electrical goods, well what can you say? Just about everything available there, with the quality too.

The fresh produce section at this grocery store is always well-stocked and vibrant. It inspires me to eat more fruits and vegetables.

Great place to find a lot of random bits and pieces. Food is affordable and pleasing to most 😉

  • 4/5 Niquole R. 8 months ago on Google
This aldi contains more items that you possibly would not find at your local aldi. Very busy though which I do not like. Best to visit first thing in the morning.

Avoid this Aldi if you have a disability. The security guard was shouting at a man to stay home if he’s got a brain injury. Absolutely disgusting

  • 4/5 Irene F. 7 months ago on Google
Always lower prices than most, still quality products

If you are in the heart of the city it saves to have a supermarket set up it's store here for the ease of shopping and being a little less painful to your wallet.

  • 4/5 Dan C. 2 years ago on Google
Nice shop, good selection and brilliant location. Perfect to pop in and grab something while in city centre. The small bakery section they have can get a bit empty towards the end of the day so best to get in early if you want baked goods. I personally but flowers from here regularly, they are great price and always look lovely and last.

Larger supermarket based in the city centre. Always busy whatever the time. Lots of checkout staff on hand plus this is the first Aldi I've been into that have self service checkout which is extremely handy in this branch because the cues can be long and if your only nipping in for a few small bits then the self serve is a dream. Lots of variety as usual.

  • 5/5 Diane C. 2 years ago on Google
Good range of items but very busy most of the time selfservice availible for card only but they do open tills fast when they notice large lines starting

  • 5/5 Scott L. 2 years ago on Google
It's cheap and good food! When your pockets are crying, don't bother because you can start buying quality goods here!

  • 3/5 Richard H. 2 years ago on Google
One of the busiest Aldi branches. People bumping into you constantly. And as for Aldi specials, forget it. The middle aisle is like a jumble sale.

  • 4/5 Daniel R. 2 years ago on Google
They have a nice rice pudding, i really recommend this place to buy food! Check the expiration date !!

  • 5/5 Devin T. 1 year ago on Google
    great variety, reasonably priced

  • 4/5 Y W. 1 year ago on Google
Self-checkout machines don't accept giftcards even though it's displayed as an option. Otherwise, pricing of some essentials are reasonable. For certain items, would recommend so elsewhere to avoid compromising on quality.

All I wanted was a sports drink as I was towards the end of the day and I still had quite a journey ahead of me. I must have gone around that store and four times. The shelves and the placing didn’t seem to make any real sense. I couldn’t find single bottles, so I had to buy a pack of four. The place was full of empty cardboard boxes and those cage carts they fill up from. Thank god I don’t have to shop here regularly.

Do we need reviews for supermarket chains everyone is familiar with? Just is case you've been living under a rock Aldi is the most value for money supermarket.

  • 4/5 Ade O. 1 year ago on Google
Loads of vegan options, it would be great having a dedicated section for them.

  • 4/5 MR E S. 1 year ago on Google
Couldn't quite get everything. The bigger stores are better for a decent shop. Otherwise fairly good

  • 3/5 Ollie D. 1 year ago on Google
Not always able to get everything on my list and is usually rammed full of people. Some of the staff are nice and friendly, some not so much. However for value, availability and checkout experience Aldi Arndale is far superior to the other budget supermarket in the city centre (L*dl).

Prices are no longer as characteristically low as they used to be, for example, one item I bought every week (so I'm familiar with the difference) was their family shepherd's pie. In the space of just a couple of months, it 'gradually' went from £4.49 to £4.99 then £5.49. I also urge them to stop their 'supervisors' from berating their staff in public. Whilst waiting at the checkouts, one young lady was shouting (from the manned tills area) at a man in the self-serve area about how he should clean the ovens better. Her insistence that "on checking that morning", the fresh goods ovens were 'filthy' caused me to discard my pastries before putting the rest on the conveyor belt. And will someone PLEASE stop teens from SITTING on the stacks of drinks while texting. Sorry Aldi. Some hygiene (and goodwill) training is needed in your Arndale store.

Plenty of choices, plenty of staff to offer help and easy accessible payment points (no miserable queues despite the crowds of shoppers).

Some Products can be Dearer than other Supermarkets as was the Case I found with Gravy Granules but, majority are reasonably priced & have a relatively decent selection on their Wines.

  • 5/5 Gav J B. 1 year ago on Google
Great supermarket with friendly staff. Perfectly located within the city centre. As this is such a busy store, you can always guarantee fresh supplies.
