AVOID. Was told to park here by the nearby Marriott V&A . The car next to ours was vandalised , and robbed … and really no sense of security. No barriers , no visible attendant … not secure All for the princely sum of … 35 quid a night This was floor 6 …

I went here to park for an event at the oprpera House, there were plenty of empty spaces on floor 4 ,by the time we got there 7pm. You pay by the new method of using your phone app. Glad my son was with me and knew what to do. I admit I was lost. We were charged 11 pounds for the time we were there, if you can find street parking empty space in the area after 8pm its free, so you may have to pay for an hour. This is not cheap parking in these car parks. Well worth a run round.

Used New Quay street car park for couple of hours. Car park itself is good. Easy to find, a lot of spaces. Problems are paying and leaving. We parked in the evening (for theatre play) so came back around 10pm and it was a huge queue to the pay point. There is actually only ONE pay point for the all huge parking (8 levels or even more). Then you have 15 minutes to leave. Not sure about day time but in the evening we spent exactly 30 minutes to move from level 7 to the exit!!! Just huge queue again! And then.... Then you receive a FINE because didn't make it in 15 minus! Awful! So, parking is good but I will not use it again. No way!

The ticket machine wasn't working very well and so there seemed to be groups of people confused about how to pay. We paid after through the website, which you can only do after you leave the carpark. Put in your REG and it will tell you what you owe. The location was good for us but a little pricey at £8.90 for 2 hours.

My car was broken into here. Your car is not safe here. Barely any CCTV and no-one working there plus no barriers to get in or out or deterrent in any way so i'd recommend to avoid, you'd would definitely be safer parking on the street IMO.

Edit** My fine has been quashed! I must say that their customer service requarding this unfortunate matter has been excellent, they have been obliging & understanding and their communication has been very professional. Hopefully they have listened and improvements will be actioned. EDIT* I've just received £100 fine It's a shame this carpark has so many issues, because it's in a great location. Trying to exit hell would be easier than trying to get out of here after a show at the Opera House. There is ONE payment machine to service the whole building, so you have to queue to pay with everyone else exiting the Opera House. They graciously allow 15 minutes to exit the site ... However, after almost an hour we hadn't even managed to exit our parking space, never mind the actual building! The main problem for this ( aside from the volume of vehicles) It's the road layout, only being able to turn left into a narrow street leading to a hatched box, which You've no chance of actually joining the traffic without stopping on the box! Thus causing the backlog and long wait. I am fully expecting a fine through the post, but I think under the circumstances , of which I'm sure they could see on their cctv monitoring system- they should show leniency. All in all the price wasn't too bad at £9.45 for the evening, the spaces are extremely tight...but exiting at busy times is the most disappointing factor. I probably wouldn't use this particular carpark again. Although our car was safe...it's troubling to read how many people's cars have been smashed& broken in to. There are a few aspects that could do with management attention. Especially with safety and exiting procedures at busy times.

The worst company by far I have ever dealt with is NCP. I parked yesterday and chose to leave and pay for car park online. I went on the website last night on iPhone, iPad, and laptop and their website doesn’t work. I contacted them on the phone last night and all I want to do ever is just pay £9 for my parking and they said they can’t take payment at that time and I have to call back in the morning. I am on call with them now and so far have waited half an hour in the queue and there is no answer. For gods sake, are you all trying to make people unable to pay so that you can issue them a fine.terrible terrible, literally ruined my day yesterday and today. Updated - as expected no answer after 45 mins. I give up. Spent hours and hours to pay for parking an hour and half. A complete joke. They have finally answered the phone and they said the payment team is engaged and I will get a call within 24 hours. Absolutely unbelievable. The deadline is tonight. I will stop trying because so far the emotional and mental damage and time waste has costed me much more than the £9 parking fine. If I don’t get a call I will give up and if I get a charge. Be sure I will take it to court. Absolute scumbags. For NCP employee who is responding my review. My reg is ST62 ETU and I parked in Manchester spinningfield yesterday evening. Be sure I will not waste a single more minute of my time on you people.

The fine for not paying for parking is less than parking will actually cost. No indication on how to pay or how you should pay. You are supposed to pay just after you arrive and not when you return. Easy mistake for everyone to make as everyone had a parking fine when I returned to my car. Just park at any other parking lot just down the road. Even the other NCP is better than this.

Very busy, parked on lvl 9. Good smell of urine in the stairwell. Guards patrolling along with the police so felt very secure. Could definitely do with some more signs as not easy to find.

Appalling, an NCP car park in downtown in one of Manchester's busiest locations with one pay machine the queue is horrendous! And most of the time is is out of order , but they can not be bothered even to inform that with a simple pen and paper, you get the 1st customer trying after several attempts they give up & leave , you assume his own fault card declined and give it a go and the story just goes on!!frustrated drivers at the single broken machine waiting relentlessly! They give you an option to pay on the app, after you waste 15mins downloading the app and filling up your boring details it says we will transfer you to a secure payments page. You fill in the same details another 10 mins you press confirmed and hoorah your done!! But No NOT that quick! You get the page opps domething went wrong!! Come on NCP you make millions in half and hour try and invest in new pay machines and sort yourself out!! Time wasters

Parked here when myself and my wife went to see Russell Howard at the Manchester Opera House. When we left it took almost 1hr to get the car out of the carpark after paying due to the quantity of traffic. Today I have received a fine from NCP for taking too long to leave. From reading the reviews this isnt the first time this has happened and NCP should really look at a system for tackling this. Very poor management by NCP, I will be appealing the ticket and hopefully they will see sense.

Parked overnight and by the next day we arrived to find the house keys on the passenger seat which was odd.. turns out the contents of the car was stolen overnight. Sunglasses, shopping in the boot and change. Would highly recommend if you have a keyless car you don’t use this car park.

Returned to the car after one night in Manchester and it had been broken into. Luckily we didn't leave anything with any value in the car. They had torn it apart and all items from the glove box spread around the car. Spare change had been taken along with reading glasses..? DO NOT USE THIS CAR PARK. clearly no security. However they have cctv on each car, so when contacted to look at their cctv I have had no response. I know they have cctv because when leaving you pay for extortionate overnight parking, a photo of your vehicle comes up. Poor. Expensive. Unsafe. Would gives zero stars if I could.

Used this car park one night with my Mum and my Brother. Was quite hard to find as road signs weren't very clear and visible. Car park was good, however. Car park tickets were pricely, so I would recommend finding a car park that is more cheaper in price!

DO NOT USE FOR THEATRE EVENTS UNTIL THE ROADWORKS HAVE FINISHED. Parked here to go to an event at the theatre at the end of April. £8.95 for 2.5 hours was a bit steep, but its city centre so fair enough. The parking machine only allows you 15 mins to get out. There are long term roadworks on the road outside the carpark. This resulted in it taking 30 mins to get out, which only happened because carpark staff came out and directed traffic another way and gave people directions. As a result of being stuck in a queue that I couldn't control for 15mins after the grace period ended (during which time I couldn't go back to a machine because I was stuck in a queue!) I have been fined £100 for having "parked without payment"!!!!

Easy entry. But whatever you do don’t park there if you’ve seen a show at the opera house etc. total gridlock tryin to get out as there are traffic lights as u leave on the main road. Still waiting for pay later receipt on email. Avoid this place

Hideously, and needlessly expensive - 4hrs cost more than theatre tickets. Costs need to be commensurate with the service provided. This is extortion. (Would have done due diligence but wasn’t expecting to be ripped off, committed with time and arrangements so had no other choice at the time) will not be using NCP again.

Found quite a few spaces to park. Neat and clean parking area. The parking space is wide enough for a large car. Expensive if paid on the spot, much cheaper to pay via NCP App

Always busy but you can usually find a space on the top levels (12 and above). Lifts are very good and it’s very convenient for Spinningfields and the Manchester courts. Uses ANPR so no ticket needed and you can pay on the App (anytime even after you have left) or at the machine on the ground floor. Well maintained and clean.

Expensive and the payment system doesn't work laying you open to a fine. The machine in the foyer is flakey and sends you back to the start repeatedly. The NCP app doesn't allow you pay a historic parking session and the paylater website that you need to type all the personal and card details into again requires a debit card start date which mine simply doesn't have. The help chat was unresponsive and it took me 45 minutes to corner someone on the phone to take a payment. Avoid like the plague.

Paid a premium for secure city parking for car to be broken into. Not exactly what you expect to happen when, again paying a premium. Would have been better parking on the street

Wooooh! This place is expensive. Yes there was parking on level 11 and upwards but be prepared to take out a second mortgage when it comes to paying up. The payment machine was pretty temperamental too. If you can, I suggest parking in one of the £8-10 all day carparks close by and use their payment app. You'll need to get in early though. Or just be lucky. If all else fails, and you have money to burn, then there is this carpark.

Terrible Car Park! — beware! Went to see Ryan Adams at Opera House, paid a fortune for parking after returning and then the whole car park was horrendously gridlocked for about 40-50 minutes. We were stuck on 8th Floor for most of this time and then they have the audacity to issue a fine for not exiting the car park in time. People were even getting out of their cars and trying to find out what was going on — there was no NCP attendants that I could see on hand to help. Needless to say `I will contest this fine as far as is needed because unfortunately through absolutely no fault of my own NCP effectively trapped me in their premises without compensation by failing to adequately ensure that customers can quickly exit the car park in the time they deem sufficient. This was impossible!

Stayed here overnight to find car was broken into. Very strange that this car park has so many to cars stolen and broken into despite the car park not investing in security cctv. Also it is very strange that on all occasions the cars are attacked, the car park staff patrol van turns up after to take pictures in which they send to the police. With this not being a secured car park and the vans patrolling after each break in - it really makes me question if the staff are in on this.

If you’re of a certain age this car park isn’t for you as you need an app to pay for parking or you have to go online to pay. There are machines nearby though. There have been several reports of cars being broken into here so be sure to hide your belongings. We found the entrance a little tight, and if it wasn’t for the parking discount we got from the Moxy hotel nearby, the price would’ve been through the roof. It is well lit and sign posted, so we didn’t have any problems.

If you want to pay an extortionate amount to park in a central location, this is the car park for you. Ideally located for Spinningfields and Manchester Crown Court but be prepared to pay a premium. No prices advertised, all paperless so you can enjoy the shock when you come to pay at the ticket station or online.

Car broken into overnight. Window smashed and items stolen. No sign of security and no help from contact centre. Despite going three times in the morning we could not find any staff on duty in the car park. Would recommend avoiding like the plague.

Expensive, location hard to find ticket machine not accepting QR codes for discounted parking issued by the Crown Court. Ticket machine not printing receipts only one ticket machine resulting on Q's, people becoming frustrated as the ticket machine malfunctioning, emailed NCP and requested receipt for £38.50, still waiting. Avoid...not a good experience.

Have used this car park many times over the years. Great location if you want to visit the theatre or spinning fields. We arrived around 1PM and had to go up many levels to find a space. It is very secure and you feel safe knowing your car is looked after. The only issue is that it is very expensive.

The parking itself was fine. Easy gate free entrance and exit when you arrive and leave. One lift was broken, so we were in a queue of buggies waiting to travel down. As stated by many other reviewers, there’s something wrong with their iOS / MacOS sites. On both app and web I’m sent round in circles unable to log in or reset my password despite having an account. I was therefore unable to take advantage of their cheap app-payment rates. Based on the reviews I wasn’t going to risk not paying in the car park and having to deal with customer service and fines etc. I will be avoiding NCP in future.

Received a parking fine for overnight parking here suggested by Moxy Hotel. I setup the autopay as per the hotels instructions & used their discount code & this was the only way to use the discount code. As others have said the Autopay doesn’t work but there’s nothing within the building saying this. **UPDATE** I’ve been in contact with NCP & they’ve “kindly” tried reducing my fine to £20 which is more than I would have paid for parking on their car park. They’ve admitted fault & admitted the hotel shouldn’t be providing info for the Autopay. Very funny how they make it out like they’re doing you a favour, very sketchy company. Quote from NCP: “ I do understand that you were informed how to use the car park and promo code by the hotel you were staying with, but I regret they have provided you with information which is out of date (and we will address this with them).”

Went here to park when we visited the Oprera House for a musical show, evening performance. If you haven't eaten before you go make sure you know establishments nearby because most were shut when we arrived, those that weren't and preferable to us were quite a walk away.

God, if I would’ve known this was a problem I wouldn’t of used it at all and gone further to find parking. Stayed at the Marriott and this was the recommended parking place. The pay later option DOESN’T work unless you have a Windows computer. Mobile with 3 different browsers & a Macbook with Javascript enabled would not work to pay! NCP know this is a problem with a quick google search, but won’t fix it! Seems we got lucky that our car wasn’t broken into the night we stayed, just avoid at all costs. Bloody expensive and awful experience.

AVOID THIS CAR PARK! Left my car over the night after travelling from Brighton and guess what… my car and OTHER 6, got broken in. Contacted NCP and they are not responsible for this. No cameras or staff around to check what happened. Just got my holidays ruined

Better than Citipark and those other outdoor carparks in the city centre. NCP have better management and take better care of your vehicle. They have a more convenient payment process. Citipark on the other hand are awful. Ive had terrible experiences and they have very poor customer service. I also have heard bad things about some of the outdoor carparks that i am inclined to believe. Three words. Catalytic converter theft. I only park at NCP in Manchester. Christmas is coming up so bear this in mind if you have a car that is vulnerable to that risk.

Good place to park for Manchester opera House only problem is getting out you must turn right and right again to traffic lights which only allow 3 cars to go through so 200 cars may be more i recommend going for a drink let the rush go not n c p falt

Parked here for the afternoon Panto at Opera House on a Saturday 10th December, ended up on the 10th floor as it was very busy. The pay station is on the Ground floor next to the exit, you have to enter your reg number when paying as it’s a ticketless system, no problems with the car park but as other comments have said it’s quite expensive £15.80 for around 4 hours, it is clean and well lit, great location for Opera house

  • 4/5 Mark A. 1 year ago on Google
Quite expensive but, paying for the parking was a breeze, you just pay on the internet within 24 hours, no queuing out the door after a night out freezing to death.

Check payment that you’re charged - evening rate should be £9.95 but was charged £29.95, contacted NCP and was told a £20 refund had been processed which I would receive within 14 days, almost 1 month later and still not received. Have now been told to wait another 14 days. Get the impression they hope people won’t check first payment and then won’t follow up. Ridiculous way of overcharging and making money.
