    1. Check-in experience was horrible for this hotel category. They called me a few days prior and told me I could have an early check-in at 11 am. I arrived at noon and waited for two hours to have my room, only to be transferred to another room because the first room did not have a pool view for our niece, as we requested. 2. The incidental and security deposits are more expensive than most 5-star hotels. 3. The front lady staff who checked us in appeared to be a trainee. She keeps asking questions. The second and third ladies never smiled the whole time. 4. Our luggage was delivered at 3 pm (3 hours later). 5. I requested to speak with the duty manager and had to wait over an hour for a callback. 6. I could hear voices in the next room. 7. The one star is for the bellman. Polite and helpful. 8. The complimentary cake is delicious. 9. Planning on cutting our stay short. I was disappointed overall.

This hotel is overall very nice. The room I had was a bit dated but nice and clean, and then housekeeping staff was great. Everyone here is the most polite, and there are a ton of breakfast options. I had a bit of an issue having my receipt emailed to me, but I did eventually get it, with sincere apologies for the delay.

Clean, well kept rooms. Bathrooms are modern. Hotel amenities such as pools, tennis courts are well maintained. Restaurants serves good food. Downside is the limited parking space. You can use the parking of the mall which is just right across.

First 5 star hotel experience. They raise the bar pretty high. The receiving lobby was gorgeous. The gym had all the latest treadmills and cardio machines you need. The pool was nice as well. Felt self since there was a platoon of lifeguards out there. Breakfast buffet was overwhelming, lots of choices. Overall a great experience.10/10 would be back again.

I was here for a seminar held in one of the event halls by the Garden wing. Visiting Edsa Shangri-la is always a pleasant experience. The staff are nice. The ambience is relaxing and welcoming. The restrooms are always clean, smells good and spacious too.

I would like to express my sincere appreciation for the prompt attention given to any concerns or fixes needed in our room. The quick response is truly commendable. Additionally, I would like to extend my gratitude to the servers at the poolside and in the Heat restaurant for their exceptional courage and attentiveness. Their dedication to ensuring a pleasant experience is truly remarkable. Lastly, I would like to acknowledge the duty managers for their accommodating nature and their efforts in making our stay more comfortable. Thank you all for your outstanding service.

My family and I had a wonderful stay. We enjoyed the facility. Staff were nice and approachable except for Joemar who was assisting us in the breakfast buffet. I felt kind of uncomfortable when he was serving due to his attitude. It was not welcoming. He was rude. It almost spoiled our stay. We just brushed it off. All in all we had fun. Breakfast buffet costs around 1,400. Pool area was really giving vacation mode on.

Excellent service. Staff are very polite, accommodating and swift in responding to requests. Rooms are a bit old but still clean and well kept. Food is satisfying and well presented. My stay is quite pleasant 😊

We had a nice and quiet stay here for four nights. Staff are friendly and always willing to help. Rooms are almost sound proof, we barely hear any sounds from the outside. Lots of quality selection at buffet breakfast, Lots of amenities which you can request. Playground for our kid ♥️ Easy access at shangri la plaza. They even waived excess amount from our dinner credits. Such a kind gesture. Only downside that i can think of is their limited parking, also not that maintained. Maybe not that great view from our room (facing megamall), but its expected for its location. All in all, still one of the best in the metro.

We were there for a business function. Bathrooms were very clean. Hotel staff very accommodating. Valet service took very long to have car brought to driveway. But was told there was a big function hence the choke points.

The stay was very comfortable; we were welcomed with banana bread and banana chips in our room. The breakfast experience was a low rating. Mind you, the service was excellent, but the food was bland. I was able to use the gym though this was by reservation to limit the amount of people in it. Facilities were superb. Trainers were there to help out in teaching the proper form of an exercise or the proper use of the machines.

The service that you get at Edsa Shangri-La is amazing. The facility is obviously incredible, but what sets them apart is the attitude of their staff and team, who are always stepping up to help the guests any time of the day. The HEAT restaurant is great for breakfast and lunch buffets. They even have a kids day-care facility !!

Our stay here was, as always, exceptional! We want to give a special shoutout to the incredibly sweet, attentive, and caring staff members who took care of us - Lindz and Erickson. They are the true gems of this hotel, and their exceptional service makes it even more remarkable.

Came here for a lunch buffet at Heat. The ambiance and the atmosphere are inviting and conducive for that dining experience. What I really loved here are the service people as they are very warm, accommodating, and comfortable to talk with. They even do favors like taking your photos and providing assistance in case you need anything.

our room was given to us 5 hours late arrived 2pm.and was given a room by 7pm. the reason given to us was previous guests extended their stay (with pay) I asked for an upgrade on our 2nd night to enjoy the lounge and don't need to move to a non-lounge room. and said I had to pay for the upgrade. They should refund the 5 hour delay then.

Attended an office planning session in one of their function halls. Food was good, came at the right time and was not bland as most hotel catered food usually are. Overflowing coffee and tea. Missed taking a photo of the AM snack which was a ham and cheese croissant sandwich snd a Choco chip muffin

We booked a Premier room and as soon as we walked in the smell of damp was over powering. The bed and the sofa were damp. We informed the front desk who showed us other rooms - 3 in all before out of exhaustion we accepted the last one, which still smelled but the bed seemed ok. The smell was still there and by day 2 began to make me feel ill. The carpets in the rooms are dirty. The bed in our supposedly highest grade of room (they gave us an upgrade) was old and sunken in the middle, we both woke up with aching backs. The bed linen is not even a high quality. Another issue is 3 years into a 'pandemic' the staff are still wearing face masks. In the dining room everyone is sat eating with no masks yet staff have to wear them? If customers don't wear them in a crowded restaurant why do the staff? Come on management, it is demeaning to staff!! They are not slaves and surely it is well known that masks offer no protection. Positives - the hotel is beautiful and the pool area is great. The staff are polite and helpful. For the price we paid it is very very bad value. Even a third of the price would not have been acceptable. Amazed if anyone would return here.

This is the worst hotel I have ever encountered; I do not recommend it. During the check-in process, they deducted more than the actual amount from my card due to poor financial service, leaving me without money. They promised to refund the money within 14 banking days. I strongly advise against choosing this hotel; it was my worst experience.

My husband and I stay at Edsa Shangrila for almost a month in November. We are very impressed by the service and friendliness of the hotel staffs at the front desk, phone operator, guest service, concierge, house keeping…They go above and beyond to treat every guest like VIP. We will definitely stay at this hotel next time when we visit Manila. I also want to mention Summer Palace. This restaurant in the hotel is always full of people. Aside from good food, the service is excellent. I see a lot of returning guests that the restaurant manager, Nancy Farm, would greet them by their names. I can see her passion in the job. She is very sincere, respectful and warm. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Location and food are the only things I like about this hotel. The front staff never smiles and looks serious all the time. It took more than an hour to check-in. The room was not ready on time. Baggage was delivered to the room after two hours despite repeated calls. The manager on duty was not helpful and made me wait more than an hour for the callback. I am giving it two stars. One for the location and good food, and the second star is for the polite bellman who assisted us.

They have limited parking space at the hotel. So you need to park at the mall. They also close the shortcut early so you have to walk from the main door of the hotel and the mall. Very bad! Old hotel the chairs at the function rooms is not comfortable to sit. They also serve bad food the cream of mushroom soup taste bad The beef is dry it taste bland and it will become mushy in your mouth when you chew. The cod fish is good! The dessert mango cheesecake terrible taste lacks of flavor. The creme brulee is over cooked taste like egg.

Great clean hotel, immaculate service, great bar downstairs and room service food very tasty. Definitely made our stay in the Philippines enjoyable while travelling in a group for a wedding! Everyone speaks English well which was beneficial for us and I’d rate this as a world-class hotel. Also close by to the Shangri-La plaza and lots of food places, whilst housing it’s own restaurants which are pretty good.

A comfortable hotel! There's a swimming pool with nice facilities, and there are shopping malls nearby. The room was also comfortable, especially the bathrooms. The view from my room was just okay but it may vary from room to room. If you can afford it, this is a nice hotel to stay at.

Located at the middle of EDSA Has access to the major commercial businesses, corporations, law firms and entertainment Staff are very attentive, helpful, and remindful You have to pay a lot for 1 night's stay. (good thing that we have a promo from a credit card) The stay includes the use of the pool and health facilities such as the steam room, jacuzzi and cold plunge, and a complimentary breakfast from HEAT. The lobby is spacious but a little dated. The lounge also has food to offer, though it is pricey. You have to pay extra for the massage. HEAT, their buffet restaurant, has a lot of food to offer. Other than the breakfast, we also ate lunch and they are delicious. We paid half the price for it. Overall, a time well spent. It needs to be renovated to go with the modern times.

Edsa Shangri-La has always been a part of my heart. My unit next to the hotel connected by a link bridge, it has easy access to me to re-live the most-loved memories of the family. Children has spent some precious moments with us sleeping, playing, swimming, dining in the hotel. The hotel is simply amazing from food to service, everything is excellent, the staff even more! Come and visit to see for yourself!

The hotel is a bit old but one of the best customer service that I had experienced. They even personalize our stay and provided a written note 😊 what a sweet gesture. Keep up the good work! But need a little renovation on the room and maybe facilities to compete with other new hotels on the market.

Simply the best service and staff and a great family hotel....very prompt with service, clean and daily housekeeping and welfare checks, close to a couple of malls and church, a great buffet breakfast, lobby restaurant and by the pool menu, a very entertaining pool area espc for kids keeps them occupied for 4 to 5hrs easily. However the staff are the cream of this hotel...the entire team right from the entrance of the hotel were very very warm, hospitable, polite, kind and always smiling. I have been traveling around the globe since 2004 and this is the first time i have actually come across all the staff in one hotel to give the same 10 star service...they have a great team...will definitely come back to shangri-la edsa thank you

Had an amazing stay. Staff and food were excellent. However my room preference wasn’t given much priority. I requested for a skyline view of the city as was shown on the picture of Tower Wing Premier Room they used on their website/promotional materials/third party booking websites. I had a great room on the 4th floor. Should have been perfect if it’s on a higher floor.

Disappointed. The hotel offer several upgrade options via their APP wherein I upgraded my room, however, I received an email informing me that the upgrade I chose is not available since all sold out. Room is musty and old, you had to pull the door close hard, otherwise it might not click lock shut. Pro side, they gave a higher level room as requested and avail the room to us a bit earlier than check in time. Service not up to par, which is most probably due to the holiday crowd, I had to go after hotel staff for requests/orders several times. The bar bill by the pool had the wrong amount, overcharged us with the wrong item. Pro side: pool at night is nice, lifeguard very attentive and alert to the swimmers at the deep end. Breakfast’s at lower level ball room, no window, huge crowd, the food is set outside the ballroom in the hallway with dim lighting, you can barely see the food. No water at the table until I asked for them, no paper napkins, the coffee I ordered did not arrive at all. It feels like having breakfast at a crowded market instead of a five star hotel. Not sure how the service is during regular days, but will not be going to Shangri-La branches any time soon.

The TV turns on by itself and it disrupted my sleep, we had to unplug it. I was supposed to stay for 24 days and decided to cut it short (checked out after 7 days because of bad experience). They couldn't get the invoice right, even after multiple attempts to correct it, I ended up having tons of explanation I had to do when I submitted the expense report to my company.

We had an absolutely incredible 3 day stay at Edsa Shangri-La. From the moment we stepped foot in the lobby to the day of our departure, our experience was nothing short of exceptional. The premier suite we stayed in was spacious and offered a comfortable atmosphere. While it had a charming and cozy feel, it would greatly benefit from a modern upgrade. The room's sockets were a bit outdated, the bedside wireless charger was not working and the TV only displayed cable channels. Many contemporary hotels nowadays, especially of the same calibre as Shangri-La provide smart TVs with a range of features, such as guest information, weather updates, hotel amenities, and room service options. Incorporating these advancements would elevate the overall experience. Nevertheless, despite this minor setback, the room remained cozy and provided a high level of comfort for me and my family. The massage we received at the Chi spa was truly outstanding, rivaling, if not surpassing, the quality of the massage we had at the Shangri-La Boracay. Jackie, our exceptional massage therapist, delivered an exceptional experience. Her expertise and skill made the massage one of the best we've ever had. The service we experienced at the hotel was truly exceptional. We would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to Mella, Jewel, Patrick, and Eddie from the Horizon Lounge for their outstanding efforts in making our stay even more memorable. Every member of the staff greeted us with warmth and genuine smiles, demonstrating a sincere willingness to assist us in any way possible. During our visit to the Horizon lounge, we encountered a delightful surprise during our first night. As cocktail hour usually doesn't include rice, we initially thought our daughter would have to skip her usual rice meal. However, Patrick, a dedicated staff member of the Horizon Lounge, went above and beyond to ensure our satisfaction. He personally took the initiative to request rice from the main kitchen, going out of his way to accommodate our needs. This act of thoughtfulness and exceptional service truly deserves commendation. Overall, our stay at Edsa Shangri-La Hotel was absolutely delightful. We were impressed by the warm and welcoming ambiance, the attentive staff, and the outstanding massage at the Chi spa. While there are areas that could benefit from improvement, they did not overshadow the overwhelmingly positive aspects of our stay. We highly recommend this hotel for anyone seeking a memorable and enjoyable experience. Above and beyond the services and amenities provided by the hotel, it is the exceptional service like this that truly leaves a lasting impression on guests. Our overall stay was nothing short of excellent, and we are already looking forward to returning in the future.

It was good. We checked in on weekday, and I thought the complimentary breakfast was a buffet but they said the breakfast buffet is only on weekends. The online payment that I made when I booked online was not reflected in the system when we checked in and even when we checked out. Good thing I was able to clarify to the receptionist and showed the screenshot of my bank payment. I wish it was reflected in the system, real-time so that it won't take too much time when checking in and out.

Everything is in place. From the reservation up to re-confirming it, special notes/request, arrival, food, pool area and so nice staff. The hotel is clean, towels are smells nice, the bathtub has no stains, even the soap has a nice smell and not harsh. The pool is warm and the lifeguards are so attentive. Foods are good except for the coffee, I think you need a real barista for it. I hope the other shops will open soon so we can do more on our next stay.

We had a very good stay! Staff are great, service is awesome. Just a little suggestion, in our 2-night stay and 3 days of swimming, noticed that the lifeguards don't even have a chair and thus are required to stand the whole day. This is the first time I've seen this in all the hotels i've been local and abroad. Hopefully the lifeguards would have their chair and be allowed to seat. i'm sure this won't have any negative effects to their work and the guests :) and it will be more comfortable for everyone including the guests :)

I've stayed in several high end hotels around Asia and Shangri-La is probably one of my favorites. It's clean, food is good, service is great, pools are nice and staff are very friendly. One downside is like many other hotels in Asia, the king bed is actually just two twin size beds put together so you can feel the lump when sleeping on the middle of the bed.

It's my first time to book a 5 star hotel. The check in experience was a bit negative as we have to wait for almost an hour to get access to the room. The reason was that it was not ready. On the other hand, amenities are superb. The restaurants here offer the best and finest in its location. I am yet to complete my 2 nights stay. Hopefully, it will be pleasant throughout.

Rooms are not soundproof. Woke up 3 times from other rooms banging their doors close. Also, when you’re paying P12000 per night, you’d expect that you’d be treated with luxury but apparently you can’t have stuff you ordered outside delivered straight to your room. First time I’ve seen this at a 5 star hotel.

Always loved staying at Shangrila and this was our first time visiting during covid. The ambiance and food quality stayed the same but i’m flagging the POOR QUALITY SERVICE. Poolside restaurant staff was rude. Young ones were polite but the veteran male staff was not well-mannered. They were only catering 2 tables including us but they were very slow and our Iced coffee tasted like water. We asked politely if they can fix it, add a bit of coffee but he insisted that they don’t make coffee like Starbucks? Was really put off with that comment and ruined the vibe. Honestly we just want our coffee to taste like… coffee? Also wished that they include simple condiments such as hot sauce when serving the pizza. Poor poor service.

Oh god, what a great experience I had. Lot of varieties, staffs were humble and helpful, food ia costly but worth to try it. Next a mall with cinema and on a hot place centre to almost everything. Traffic nobody can predict as it varies based on busy times. So pick your time accordingly

The hotel is too old and never got renovated seems like in more then 10-15 years. You’ll realise some of the rooms have the old furniture which has moulds. The rooms sometime have the smell and even some of the areas of hotel look ghosted. They don’t take any of the feedback seriously. I have stayed few times and most of the time I got allergic reaction. Even being a loyalty member they would never care about your preferences. Not worth your bucks, it’s most expensive with low maintenance.

It was just an overnight stay, but we really enjoyed it. The welcoming treats were tasty (banana bread and banana chips). The amenities were clean and staff were really helpful in providing our requests (an extra chair for working and extra pillows and sheets for our other guest 😊) The breakfast buffet in Heat restuarant was ok, although not as contemporary as the other buffets we have tried before. The plus side here is that the malls are all walking distance, so plenty of window shopping to do 😁. Overall, an 8/10 for me 😊

  • 4/5 Iris C. 2 years ago on Google
The room and quality of service are superb. The food and the management of food-related requests especially during breakfast could improve though. On one occasion, I had to wait for an hour after ordering my breakfast plate and had to leave it because I was going to be late for an important engagement. On the second, the some of the offerings tasted like they were reheated. It almost didn't seem to be value for money if I had to pay for the breakfast itself.

Superb experience! It was our first time at Edsa Shang and we definitely had an amazing experience. I appreciate the birthday surprise in our room upon arrival. My son enjoyed playing in Cubs, although this facility may still be improved/expanded. But overall, our play times there were good. Reception staff was so nice. The place was also relaxing for the guardians since there were bean bags around the area and a movie being shown. For our room, it was so clean and spotless. It felt safe for me since I have a toddler who wants to touch everything. I also appreciate the prompt provision of service requests through the app. For the breakfast, I also loved the wide range selection of food and the different cuisines you offered. Every breakfast experience we had was really good. I also tried the Health Club. The equipment are high-tech and the facilities are clean and spacious. My family also had an amazing experience in the pool area since the physical appearance and landscape was so relaxing. More importantly, all staff who I interacted with are very accommodating and helpful. The way they anticipate the needs of their guests is commendable. This was our first but definitely the last.
