A small park with historical monument at the center. As it it is located just infront of the Basilica, it'll be crowded mostly. There's intramorous walking hours infront of the park. You can get horse chariot or tricycle. ♿✔️ Wheelchair accessible.

USEFUL. 🚲 This is as useful as it is historic. Almost overshadowed by the majestic Manila Cathedral both literal and figurative, this plaza is almost unknown to most if they won't be deliberate in knowing this place. But the benches in front of the church speak of the plaza as an integral part of the Walled City. Useful because: + Bike racks! + Benches in front of the church + This is also where the popular public book spot is, where you can donate one and get one.

Formerly called Plaza Mayor. Converted into a park in 1797. Renamed Plaza McKinley in 1901. Renamed Plaza de Roma in 1961 to honor the Sacred College of Cardinals in Rome following the elevation of first Filipino cardinal, Rufino J. Santos. Bronze monument to Carlos IV of Spain erected in 1824 as a tribute for the introduction of smallpox vaccine in the Philippines. Fountain built in 1886. Statue replaced by Gomburza monument in the 1960s. Statue returned in 1981.

Nice city square in Intramuros. Plaza de Roma is surrounded by three important landmarks of Intramuros: the Manila Cathedral to the south, the Palacio del Gobernador to the west, and the Casas Consistoriales, also known as the Ayuntamiento de Manila, to the east. The Real Audiencia of Manila was also located in proximity to the plaza during Spanish rule.

Even though it is closed to the public you can just simply sit by the park and say your prayer.you will still feel the solemnity and feel like your talking to God .

Very Filipino, very vibrant. We were there on a Sunday late afternoon. The cathedral's facade facing the plaza was glowing with the sunset's hue. Small stalls selling organic food, local crafts and souvenirs line up on one side while a busy crowd (a mixture of churchgoers, wedding entourage, tourists, and peddlers) is entertained by a group of street performers.

Pleasant space, but crowded even on weekdays. Nice to hear the bells chime at noon. Note: Lots of panhandling and kids coming up from behind asking for money. Keep a VERY close eye on your valuables. This place is a pick-pocketers dream...lots of folks looking upwards, distracted by taking photos.

Considered to be the facade of Intramuros. The entrance of a rich and beautiful history of Filipino-Spaniard heritage. With Manila Cathedral at the back, the plaza is a good place to rest and undergo soul-searching.

Beautiful old style cathedral. I am slightly biased as it was one of the first places I visited as a tourist but is I magnificent work of art. The park outside is small and a bit noisy but has an ambiance nevertheless. Many places to eat very nearby also

It was known before as the Plaza Mayor of Manila, and it was considered the center of the city; later on, it was converted into a garden.

I attended the Feast of the Immaculate Conception and the plaza was very clean. It is without the usual vendors and stand-bys. There is also a security personnel that was assisting the church goers. I hope that they maintain it that way 😊

It was closed during the pandemic. Since it is already alert level 1, iit s now open. One of the places to visit when you are in Intramuros.

Yellow lights add up to the serene ,calm and solemn ambience in the middle of Intramuros . Just across the infamous Manila Cathedral, sitting by the pavewalk sorrounded by green trees dancing in the soft breeze of December. The nights seems eternal..

(Translated by Google) It is a square with a square plan that faces the Manila Cathedral. On one side the Palacio del Gubernador, and on the other another government building. The center is a green mini-park, with a statue in the center: King Charles IV of Spain. The park in covid time is closed and you can only go to the part in front of the church, with some seats and non-functioning fountains. The illuminated square in the evening is particularly beautiful.
