Had a pleasant dining experience at 1919 Grand Café. The place is great, it's clean, cozy, lovely ambiance, the staff were very friendly, and accommodating. The food that we ordered were all delicious! The staff were kind to offer their bestseller and we're glad to order them as well. We had the taro cloud which was surprisingly very good, and also the very sumptuous crystal prawn dumplings! Be sure to try their breakfast as well, their beef tapa and corned beef are both perfection!

5 star atmosphere. Food is delicious. The place is fully of memory. Have manila old pictures on wall display, beautiful decoration and second floor interior design. Cake is not so sweet, matching the coffee. Price affordable. Will sure visit this historical site.

The interiors and ambience was great, really enjoy my time here. A peaceful place in the middle of a busy Chinatown. The food were well presented, delicious and affordable. The staffs were helpful and communicative.

Juices are freshly squeezed. Foods are presentable and yummy. Place is spacious and elegant. Waiters are attentive and easy to call. Nostalgic pics were displayed on the reception area. Tables almost full on snack time when we went there.

Came here for breakfast with motorcycle friends, first time to eat here, they have different menu for breakfast and lunch. Nice old place. It was once a bank, built in the 1900's. Nice ambiance. Coffee is unlimited for the breakfast. Parking is road parking only. Price₱₱₱₱

The service was 10/10. I ordered 1 plate of salad for my partner and I, surprisingly the waiter served 2 plates of salad telling us that he initiated to serve it into two different plates! It was a really really good initiative kudos to you guys!

In the heart of Binondo, a place to dine in with such history. The food is elegant and tasteful. Staff are very friendly and professional. A truly one of kind poshy cafe and a gem. A very must visit to either dine in or just past the time for a good coffee. A definite come back visit once in the area.

I'd say that the vibes here is so romantic and this is a great place to celebrate anniversaries or special occasions. I love the interiors and have not expected that the meals are not too pricey! Will definitely add this on my list for special occasions.

I love what they have done to the place - absolutely stunning! Food was also reasonable - a bit on the pricier side but definitely the volume and quality/taste made it well worth it. The Taro Roll was to die for! It was a very generous slice with a thick piece of taro inside topped with a small slice of sweet mango. I paired it with a muscovado latte which I had too high of an expectation for after seeing the photo in the menu. It was good but I thought the muscovado on top was brulee, it wasn’t - still a very good cup of semi-sweet coffee with a Filipino twist. The menu had a few Japanese stuff in an otherwise normal western cafe menu with Filipino ingredients. Great place to have a meal or even just for coffee and desserts. The place is also very big, so plenty of seating available. I would definitely recommend foreign tourists also visit this place for a upscale twist to some Filipino ingredients and dining experience. Two complaints I had were that contrary to the interior design, the menu booklets look dilapidated. Food abd drinks were brought out promptly but it took forever to get the bill. Other than that, definitely 5 stars!

We were visiting various historical sites around Manila when we stopped in at 1919 Grand Cafe for an early lunch. The restaurant wasn't too busy at around 11 AM on a Monday, so we were seated pretty quickly at one of the tables upstairs. We enjoyed the comfy bench seating and appreciated the modern ambiance of the place. We split the truffle pasta, salt and pepper squid, and baked rice caldereta between 4 of us and were more than satisfied. Everything was so delicious!!! We weren't able to try any of the desserts or drinks, but next time I would love to try their taro cloud roll and Japanese cake.

Came for the history of the area, stayed for the comfort but will come back for the food. The Japanese cake is a must try. It tastes like a Japanese cheesecake. Light, fluffy and with a balanced cheese flavor. The taro cloud cake is also good and we can distinctly taste taro despite it being in a cake. Their muscovado latte is also good whether your or iced

Yep overall experience is five star. I love that classic vibe ambiance. The food is great, i love the truffle pasta. Single serving is actually good for 2. It's a must try.

Ambiance us really great. Very relaxing and cozy. Serving of food and coffee is very generous and very delicious Staff were very friendly as well. We bought a slice of cake for our friend since her birthday is upcoming. We asked if we can buy a small candle for the cake. The staff gave it to us for free and also gave a Happy Birthday topper. We were also surprised that when the cake arrived, they had a Birthday serenade with all of the staff. It was a very great experience dining here.

After a nice stroll in a museum in Manila, my partner decided to bring me here. He said the food and ambiance was nice. I don’t often come to Binondo but when I do, I always go for the usual chinese treats so this was quite a surprise. We requested to be seated at the mezzanine but was told only the couches were available. It was aesthetic looking but I realized the seat wasn’t the best for lunchtime because it was quite low and space was limited. Maybe for dessert and coffee. The restroom was clean and spacious. Private rooms are available for bigger groups or lunch meeting. We ordered beef salpicao and rice, pesto pasta with chicken, pizza margherita and taro cloud roll for two people but the portions could honestly feed another person. I liked the beef salpicao so much so I tried recreating it. The pesto pasta which was my main meal wasn’t the best.. it was way too oily for my taste. The pizza I would say was expensive yet it had a good flavor and order again. We were supposed to get dessert elsewhere but I didn’t see myself coming back to this place soon so we got a Taro Cloud Roll!!!!! It was amazing! i mean where else would you get that kind of cake??? It wasn’t too sweet which I totally dig. Service was pretty quick, staff were polite and all smiles. Checking out was a bit slow but probably only because of the timing.

Really good place, nice design and vintage area. Food was really good. Suitable for family dinner and business meeting lunch. We have very nice lunch there.

Came here as the reviews looked good. Absolutely did not disappoint, food was amazing, good prices, plenty of options even wagu steak!! Staff were amazing, so hopefully and lovely. Space is amazing too, very smart and relaxed. Would recommend.

First time in this place! The interior was clean and looks real nice. Food: pork belly was super softt yet crunchy on the outside! Herb chicken parmesan was kind of dry, the herbs and arugula was a good addition and made the dish felt more filling. Assorted pizza was tiny just 4 slices, the flavors were meh nothing special but the dough itself eas buttery and way better than typical pizza stores. We ordered carbonara and truffle pasta both were delicious each pasta is creamy and very flavorful! Blueberry chesscame was flaky and dry. Staff/Service: everyone's approachable and fun to talk with! We had to wait for some time before the food eas served, especially the pizza! Each plate we ordered is good for 2-3 persons depending on how you guys eat 😅 Anyways it was a quiet place! And I'd say perfect for dates!

I’ll never get tired of going to 1919 Grand Cafe, aside from the cozy atmosphere it gives and the affordable dishes they serve, the staff here are really nice and approachable, very attentive aswell. The “Taro Cloud Roll” tastes so comforting it will definitely make you order more. I’d also like to mention how squeaky clean and fragrant their restroom is. I’ve been here multiple times and not once have I been disappointed.

This cafe comes highly recommended. Though it doesn't look like much from the outside, it is elegant and beautiful on the inside. The menu is exotic and interesting. My partner had the duck while I went with the veggie omlet. The duck was definitely the better choice. A vegetarian since age 12, I've never tasted duck before nor desired it. But this dish was presented so well, I tried a small piece, and another. I found it amazingly delicate and tasty.... We will definitely be back again! The only reason this is not a "5" rating is the limited offerings for vegetarian plates, which is limited to the breakfast menu.

Ambiance: Perfect Food: Average Service: below average -The food looks good but the taste is ordinary. We have ordered the pizza and Shakey’s is a lot better. -The service, sadly is below the average. My friend had to ask for the hot sauce more than twice and getting the waiter’s attention is difficult. -One of our order was wrong and they would like us to take responsibility for it. Felt bad for the waiter as they could be charge for that order, however we are not at fault. -The price on their menu is different once receiving the bill, we were advised that they have increased their price and have not yet updated the menu. The pizza was ₱420 on the Menu and ₱520 on the bill. -The ambiance of the place is pleasant, i enjoyed the place but will never comeback.

Food is good. Pastas are for sharing since super dami, good for 2 persons na. Taro cake is a must try. Seafood pizza is also worth trying.

Service was pretty good. The food was tasty as well. Portions are indicative of Philippines but me being American, a little smaller than what I expected. Value was fine. Atmosphere was great in the restaurant. Looks really nice inside. I got the tuna melt and that was good. So many things looked good! I ordered a little too much food! Bathrooms were clean as well! I'd definitely come back!

Nice nice place. Breakfast at around 430 comes with unli coffee or tea 7am to 11am! Service is so so. Food is good. Definitely a presentable place to bring guest! They have great food selection at a friendly price. The atmosphere of this place is great. They have seating on the first and second floor, although the second floor seemed small due to lower ceiling. All in all we had a good experience here. Please note that they only have street parking, so if you come during peak hours, it can be challenging to find a parking spot. But there are private parking nearby.

Dropped by this quaint restaurant and café. At first the receptionists seemed cold but as we sat down. The servers were excellent. I was also surprised at the quality of the food. It was really good!

Went here without any expectations but was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. We ordered the truffle pasta, seared salmon with wasabi mayo, and crispy pork belly. I thought each dish was executed really well. The truffle pasta had a good chew to them and lots of mushrooms; sauce was creamy and the truffle flavor wasn’t overpowering. True to its name, the salmon dish was excellently seared — crusty outside, but moist and tender inside. The wasabi mayo was creamy, tangy, and spicy. The mash highlighted the flavor of the potato with just enough chunkiness for texture. The crispy pork belly was more like tender lechon deep-fried to crisp up the exterior. You could tell it was slow-cooked from the fall-apart texture, but was a bit lacking in seasoning IMHO. This dish needed the sauce, which was savory with a hint of fruitiness. For dessert, we had the red velvet cake and the taro cloud roll. Was surprised when they served them in thin slices divided among the three of us. While I appreciate the thoughtfulness, it bordered on presumptuousness and we couldn’t appreciate the serving sizes properly. Both items weren’t too sweet and I like how I could taste the cocoa in the red velvet. The cloud roll was a light and moist cake wrapped around a taro paste filling. Was expecting more of a mousse-like consistency for the filling in keeping with the name, but I guess it also works as textural counterpoint. Some minor quibbles: (1) The furnishings were run-down and ill-maintained, especially the seats. While the neoclassical exterior of the building was preserved, the interior is eclectic in terms of style and can be jarringly so. (2) Service could be improved. They don’t accept card payments supposedly because their POS device wasn’t working, but based on the reviews here it seems to be a long-standing issue. Staff were nice but could be a bit more attentive. Also took a long time to serve the pork belly dish. (3) Pricing is definitely expensive. The quality of food partly makes up for it, but given the ungenerous serving sizes I’m not quite convinced about the value-for-money.

Great atmosphere here. Cozy semi fine dining. There's queue though when we visited (it was Saturday & rainy) but they had us seated inside the cafe comfortably so we didn't mind waiting at all. Okay ang coffee marami ang serving 😍👌 Must try the taro cake roll good for 2 na and not so sweet.

Great decor, crew were very welcoming and attentive. Very extensive menu with an option for bottomless coffee. A very leisurely place to have breakfast early in the morning. Parking can be tricky though

The ambience of the cafe is amazing. Also was the food. Very yummy and tasty. I was just concern about the breads that are placed beside our table. A lot of people are walking past us and it was a little bit distracting. But overall, the experience was good and I highly recommend. 👌

Place looks great, don't get me wrong. Very bad customer service though because they don't allow reservations and they won't even hold tables for you even if you called and you're in the vicinity already. It's also not clear if they have a queue or not. Food is okay, a bit pricey but justifiable. Still, very bad customer service. We're okay with waiting, but we expect such establishment to at least allow reservations or hold tables with a grace period.

The ambiance and overall experience was pleasing. They're following the pandemic protocol. I did read the other reviews online and in terms of service, they've improved. The food was good and the service crew were all attentive and fast.

At last! The chance of dining in one of, if not the, best places in old Manila today. Gorgeous surroundings and good food is what life is all about…even for a few hours and this can be achieved in this place! No, do not expect a grand Chinese restaurant (just head to the traditional President or the humble Quick Snack nearby if craving for Chinese food!). This place offers more on Western food (salads, soups, pastas, main dishes of meat, fish and poultry, desserts and of course-milk tea!) and boy are they simply great! The only Chinese I saw here were the crazily humungous dimsums (just 2 types- and one set can serve as your meal already!) and the Chinese characters translating the food they serve…and that’s the most Chinese I have seen here! We had Thai salad with chicken, seafood marinara and the dimsums. You might think that this is few but actually each dish can serve at least 2-3 people. The mocha cake is something you will talk about endlessly for days while the mango cake (with taro filling) is something what a dessert should be all about. Sad that they do not serve decaf ☹️ Whoever thought of converting an old building into an impressive restaurant should be given an ovation. 1919 Grand Cafe truly is a jewel that may pump up new life in this place. Nostalgia, inspiration, sentimental are few of the emotions this place can evoke! PLEASE do come and dine here soon! You can choose eating in the main dining or for grandeur, take the dramatic staircase and dine on the second level. This level has function rooms as well.

The place itself is historical as it was where the first HSBC office in the Philippines opened its doors in 1922. The building was started in 1919, thus the name of this cafe. The food is a bit on the pricey side but it was quite good, we had coffee (each cup comes with a small sesame seed cookie), taro cake and red velvet cake. The staff were also attentive to our needs. My only comment is, they could have taken out that obviously fake tree in the interior, because it's real plants or trees for me, or nothing at all.

Quiet little corner in a busy area. Located in a beautiful historic building this cafe has great Japanese cakes and attentive staff. Prices are very reasonable.

This place is a very cozy - within Binondo area. Overall, the place was great. But on a bit higher side in terms of price. For a cafe, it felt a bit of high class which feels a bit out of place in the area. Food - 4/5 Drinks- 3.75/5 Place / ambience -5/5 Sandwich was standard. It did not disappoint on the meat serving tho. Hot coffee was (above to) average. While the frappe was a bit thick - made a bit difficult to consume. Place was superb. Restroom was clean, and there were a lot of staff. Seems that attentiveness is 50/50 based on other reviews. I'd say, good place to chill and stay. For hangouts as well. But if primary agenda is food, cheaper options outside can be considered.
