★★★★★ 5/5 Tanabe Japanese Restaurant exceeded our expectations! The salmon sashimi was fresh and served in generous portions, my favorite dish of the night. The tuna sashimi, chicken karaage, tempura don, katsudon, and onnagi don were all delicious. We also enjoyed refreshing Kirin beers. The staff was friendly and the service was excellent. Highly recommended for a memorable Japanese dining experience.

Quite a gem in the Remedios area. This is probably one of the best Japanese restaurants I have ever dined in. This is mid-range price point at about ₱700 (in 2022) per head if you're really hungry. My husband got the steak set, and I got the tempura set. Both are complete meals right there for about ₱750 each, while our friends got salmon bowls. Everything is so gooooood, even the tofu appetizer. I hope they have branches in the South, too, as I haven't been able to encounter a Japanese restaurant this good in South NCR.

I ordered a chasoba, and a baby cockroach came out. And then the staff changed it for me, and the bowl is very dirty.

Celebrated our work anniversary here and we enjoyed the food that we ordered. Serving size was just enormous for us though. Would probably come back for the mixed sashimi and miso soup.

Handa down BEST value Japanese restaurant in Manila. Top quality at reasonable prices. My definite go to place for very good and high quality sashimi. Pro tip - get the chirashi bowl. It also comes with miso soup with clams! Once you go clams you never go back.

Everybody loves Japan but if you're out of the budget to go to Japan? Don't worry Tanabe Japanese Restaurant will make you feel as if your living you best life in their country. The food (specially the mix sashimi) tastes like heaven. Will surely go back to this restaurant and recommend this to my friends and family. Love this!

Delicious, as always. Better than some of the restaurants I visited in Japan. Love the onigiri, especially the pickled plum. The staff are always friendly, too.

I dined here last month, and I can confidently say that it is a hidden gem for Japanese cuisine lovers! When I walked in I was greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere that immediately transported me to Japan. The service at Tanabe was exceptional. The staff members were attentive, friendly, and well-versed in the intricacies of Japanese cuisine. They were more than willing to offer recommendations and explain the various dishes on the menu. Now, let's talk about the food—the true star of the show. Tanabe offers a wide range of authentic Japanese dishes that cater to different tastes and preferences. I started my meal with a bowl of miso soup that was rich and flavorful, setting the tone for what was to come. Next, I indulged in their sushi platter, which showcased the freshest and highest quality seafood. Each piece was expertly crafted, bursting with freshness and delicate flavors. One dish that truly stood out was their sashimi. The presentation was exquisite, and the taste was simply divine. The slices of fish were incredibly fresh and melted in my mouth, leaving me craving for more. Tanabe's commitment to sourcing the finest ingredients was evident in every bite. Another highlight of my dining experience was the teppanyaki. I had the pleasure of watching the skilled chefs in action as they cooked my meal right in front of me. The ambiance at Tanabe was cozy and authentic, with traditional Japanese décor and soft lighting. The restaurant was immaculately clean and well-maintained, creating a pleasant and comfortable environment for an enjoyable dining experience. Tanabe Japanese Restaurant exceeded my expectations in every way. The impeccable service, authentic flavors, and attention to detail showcased their dedication to providing an exceptional dining experience. Whether you're a sushi enthusiast, a fan of teppanyaki, or simply looking to savor authentic Japanese cuisine, Tanabe is a must-visit destination in Manila. I can't wait to return and explore more of their menu offerings.

Although the beef bran has risen a lot, it is as clean and delicious as home-cooked rice. This place always leaves a good impression on the friendliness of the staff.

Worst Japanese restaurant in my life. So noisy and zero service mind of staffs. Requested small things 4~5 times but never made it and no feedback. Finally cancelled all my orders and left.

(Translated by Google) I went to this restaurant for lunch during GCQ. There was a sanitizer on the table. On this day I ordered a tuna bowl. The tuna sashimi topped on the rice was tender and delicious with a texture close to that of Toro. Toro is a rare part of tuna and is more expensive and expensive than ordinary tuna sashimi. It is a recommended restaurant for dishes that we Japanese feel delicious even if they eat.

Delicious food. You'll see a lot of Japanese eating here. I prefer to dine at the the 2nd floor because the 2st floor got a funky smell when we visited.

I had an exceptional Japanese meal here during my stay in Manila. I heard that Anthony Bourdain ate here during one of his Manila visits so I thought it should be pretty good. I had their black cod bento box which also included tempura, sashimi and chawanmushi. I also ordered some sushi which was excellent. They feature a vast menu so you can dine from a simple bowl of noodles all the way up to an exquisite omakase meal. Service is very good as well. This would be a great choice for Japanese food when in Manila. Our server, Jo, was very attentive and he coworkers rallied around us. We only had to ask for another round of green tea. Sashimi was as fresh as their chunky wassabi. They had hamachi Kama and it was a big serving. It was very tasty. Super clean tables and floor. I didn't slip or feel like it was greasy. Don't be intimated by the outside, inside the restaurant is clean and the people are friendly.

My second time here. The place is a bit small but perfect for intimate dinners and romantic dates. They also have good choices for business lunches. Their food is super worth the price. Will surely go back.

I had early dinner there tonight around 5pm. While having my meal, you can hear someone from the side where they prepare sashimi, sneezing continuously. I looked at the cashier lady with a look that asks what's going on, and she only looked back at me then looked down. What is the safety protocol of this restaurant during this pandemic???

(Translated by Google) For dinner, I ate nigiri sushi (tuna, sea urchin, scallop, and all the rest), salmon harass (slightly lacking grilled, more than half left), and a boiled eggplant boiled, but during the night, I had a severe vomiting. I couldn't stand up for 2 days and became food poisoning, so I could only drink hot water for a while. By the way, it was all right because my companion only ate Yakisoba. I've been in the Philippines many times over the years and dozens of times, but this is my first food poisoning. .. .. (Translated by Google) Delicious! Located along the Remedios Circle, the location is easy to understand. The inside is like a private room and privacy is protected. Most of the customers are Japanese. I ordered a tempura set meal and a sashimi set meal, but it was delicious. This also comes with chawanmushi. This chawanmushi is exquisitely delicious with the hardness of the egg and the ingredients inside. There was shrimp in it, but the soup stock was good and it was delicious. The price is not cheap, but it is not expensive. The fountain in the Remedios Circle on the front is also pretty clean and you won't get bored while waiting for the grab.
