We had high expectations for the YMCA when we put our daughter in tball but we were quickly disappointed. We paid $70 for 3 hours of practice in the gym and no games. The sports director was impossible to get ahold of. On the rare occasion a message was actually sent out, it was with wrong or confusing information. This made everything really difficult and frustrating. One day I was told a specific day would be their last practice/scrimmage, and the next day I was told the practice would be going a week later with practices not starting until 7 PM (these are 4 year olds we are talking about). Unfortunately we were unable to bring our daughter to her last practice/scrimmage(I think?), because this wasn’t the date or time we signed up for. I am very understanding that things happen but SOMEBODY needs to be there to answer emails/messages/phone calls and get the information straightened out. Thank you to the front desk for answering my questions to the best of your ability. I understand this isn’t your job. I also think the young coaches did a good job with the material and information they were given. Unfortunately we won’t be back to the YMCA for future youth sports.

I told the girls at the front desk my fiance was going to be late for the workout appointment he made. They said it was okay and they would send him on through. He arrived and they sent him home. HOW RUDE! My fiance and I kept up with our membership payments over the initial lockdown because we felt the kids programs should still be funded and this is how we are treated? Unacceptable. I think he and I are going to be looking at taking our business elsewhere.

This facility is decent. My only complaint is some of the workout machines need to be updated. Also, the pool availability is very hit or miss especially if there are classes or a team practicing. Would be nice if the pool was bigger. The warmer pool the kids like to play in the lap lanes. The lifeguards are too timid when it comes to kids who are breaking rules. I have seen it multiple times when kids are being unsafe and the lifeguards are not speaking loudly enough. It’s like they don’t want to be the bad guy but you kind of have to if you’re a lifeguard.

The old guy took me name and said that using the elevator is not ok because he said we were using it as a toy. And he got mad and was being very aggressive towards me and my friends

Disappointed. Some staff members are helpful. Some are not. Online access to the pool schedule can be hard to follow. I don't always have computer access and my phone doesn't have filtering options. My husband and I were dropped off only to find the pool area closed and when I asked the front desk for a copy of the schedule, which most employees will give you with the it could change disclaimer. However today the desk clerk refused to allow me a copy. Unprofessional and rude. A simple copy that could save precious time and create less confusion. Guess I will have to start calling every single morning to find out the daily schedule. 🙄

The YMCA Mankato offers such a great range of opportunities for families to get/keep fit and have fun together. The staff is friendly and helpful. We have been going here for about 10 years. When the kids were young, it was nice to have childcare while my husband and I exercised and now it is fun to be doing exercise classes together. The pre-school program is also WONDERFUL...allowing kids the chance to learn how to swim and do physical activity in the gym as well as learning curriculum in a fun way. The kids sports classes have a been great as well. We are thankful for this great resource in our community!

AWESOME YMCA!!! A great deal to do as a family. Your children can hang out at the Pepsi Cube (pool, XBOX, TV, wall climbing, etc.) or if they are a teenager, they can exercise with you. The Les Mills BODY PUMP classes are Outstanding for men and women, regardless of what you heard, it's not a synchronized aerobics class, it's worth it and free. Majority of the children who are here are disciplined and the staff ensure the children are making the right choices. I've been here for 2 years and it's a breath of fresh air. A great biking/running trail right outside of the YMCA. Indoor running trail, 2 gyms, multiple style classrooms for different things (Yoga, Body Pump, HIT, TRX, etc.). The 2 pools are huge and the lap pool is excellent for a quick workout. The other pool has a nice slide and splash pad, with hot tub on the side. If you have a two week old child, don't leave them in the pool unattended, it's irresponsible. Saunas and steam rooms are in the bathrooms. Separate bathroom for children under the age of 18. The Director (John Kind) enforces the rules and is very approachable with your concerns, especially if it involves the misconduct of his staff. The YMCA is fitted for all types of people and they assist with financial concerns also. Drop by, get a free day pass, and see what healthy living is all about.

We love the Y! My kids look forward to going to child watch, I love the variety of classes I can take, and being able to run the path on a beautiful day! The pool and kids area are both wonderful as well!

Sometimes this place gets over crowded at certain times. Some equipment seems out of date. It would be nice to see a time limit on certain equipment that's being overused
