$$ This is about as close to an authentic Mexican restaurant you'll find in the Mankato area. The food has good flavor and prepared fresh, as witnessed by large chunks of avocado in the guacamole. Complementary chips and salsa are nice to munch on while looking at menu. Full bar with a wide selection of Mexican themed drinks. The food is reasonably priced and naturally, adult beverages will add to the bill but still reasonable. The establishment is small and does NOT take reservations. It can do large parties but it appeared that required pushing all the middle tables together and without reservations taken, that could be a bit of a wait if busy. The wait staff is nice and attentive making sure you have everything you need. Parking is a bit limited so it could be tough when busy and not sure if neighboring thrift store lot can be used. Overall, you won't be disappointed eating here.

I’ve never been to a Mexican restaurant before and actually felt as if I was in Mexico! Astonishing atmosphere along with the upmost quality in food. The service is super speedy, The fajitas were sizzling as they arrived to our table. We hadn’t sat down for even 15 seconds and boom we were already dipping chips in the salsa. AMAZING doesn’t describe my experience with El Mazatlan Mexican restaurant. Would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone and place a bet on their positive satisfaction.

Very good food and service. Their chips are quite good and so is their salsa. I'm newer in the area but have tried many Mexican restaurants in quite a few towns. This is my favorite. Price is fair. Ambience is good (not amazing or high class, but good). It was packed at 530 on Friday night but we did get in right away (had to park across the street). They have that white cheese sauce that is so good and it is put on a lot of their food it seems. Made my steak quesadilla taste even better. We'll be back many times.

A true staple of this town, fun decor, great food & massive variety, expert & friendly staff. This restaurant does a uniquely fantastic job of making every one feel welcome, with huge diversity of customers, old & young, from every place. You will find a reason to repeat visit here - from lunchtime, to big groups parties, get-togethers, one-on-one, romantic, dinners, family outings, girls nights, quieter catch up dinners, soccer fans - you name it they’ve got you covered. Many of the staff look like part-time models, gym instructors or professional athletes… anyway back to the food…. There is ample parking but it’s very popular, at peak times you may struggle to find a space but there’s more parking nearby. This establishment pays attention to every detail and you can taste the quality throughout, the complimentary chips and salsa shine, and promise delights to come. This really is a saving grace in a town with not many culinary options. It can’t compete with Rancherita in more southern states but it’s very close. Very reasonable prices too.

This place was busy but great staff, the food wason point, also if salsa and chips ain't spicy enough ask they will bring a nice flavor and a bit spicy you'll like it, for me was the Carne asada plate and my suegros got the molcajete for 2 ppl, and my lovely wife had the coctel de camaron she like.

Nice and fun place to eat. Lots of choices...with a easy going, yet busy atmosphere. It's a bit crowded at busy times...but definitely worth a visit.

Parking lot was full and we were seated immediately. Food came quickly, and drinks are strong. Chips and salsa were good, rice was just alright. Steak was great, and well seasoned but chicken dishes were a bit bland/boring. I would have expected the grilled chicken or shredded chicken they used to have some onions or veggies mixed in. Staff tried their best to be helpful but some struggle to communicate and we never got a water refill.

Fast and excellent service. Definitely try the cheese steak, it's so good. The whole family loved it. If we're ever in Mankato again, we'll surely stop by again.

This Mexican restaurant in Mankato is a gem! The food is so good that we happily drive 1:30 hours from the Twin Cities sometimes. I’m a huge fan of their Monster size Pina Colada Margarita – fun to drink and super refreshing. It can be a bit too sweet occasionally, but most of the time, I enjoy it a lot. My go-to comfort foods here are the El Molcajete – the steak is soft and juicy, a perfect combo with avocado. The Pollo Norteño and Pollo Ranchero are cheesy and flavorful, with smartly combined sauces. The chicken is always tender and juicy. The space isn’t huge, but the layout is pretty busy. The booths are comfortable, and the staff are quick and helpful.

pretty good food for being in a small town. service was quick and waiter was kind. only complaint is that the salsa is not spicy at all, recommend really using some hot sauce if you enjoy heat.

My favorite Mexican food in the area! Great service and food. The drinks are amazing. It does get busy so make sure you aren’t in a rush when you’re coming in.

When asked if I was was enjoying my meal and I said no, the server said good and walked away. The chips and salsa were good, but main course was bland and the burrito had what tasted like processed cheese melted on top. A pity to pay so much for chips and salsa and barely touched main course.

Food was good. Nice atmosphere. Former location of Mexican Village. Prices midrange. Alcohol drinks available. Chips and salsa served when seated. Friendly wait staff. Good service. Not my favorite Mexican restaurant but overall a fun place to visit.

Such a bad place to go. We ordered a dish and by mistake they brought a different dish to our table and forced us to understand that they were right also it doesn’t end here as they did not replace it with the original dish. We are pure vegetarian and even after clear instructions of no meat they served us shrimp and steak. Because they didn’t replace it with veggie dish they made us pay for it. This was worst to make your customer pay for what they haven’t ate. No manners at all. Nobody should go to a place where they do not know how to respect their customers. Extremely bad staff.

The cheese dip appetizer was very tasty. I don't usually eat anything spicy at all, so for me, I felt a tiny bit of heat on my tongue. Easy to fix with a side of avocado slices. Fajita Burrito was DELICIOUS. Even though it was a very busy Friday night and the staff was very attentive. My only slightly negative comment is that they need a bigger parking lot to accommodate their customers. This place is busy for a reason.

Went here for a work lunch on the recommendation of a coworker. She did not disappoint with her selection. The complimentary chips were warm and crisp, the salsa very tasty. I ordered off the lunch menu, I felt the portions were just right. (For reference, I am a sizable man who likes to eat) Food was really flavorful.

We ordered take out. It was ready when they said it was going to be and tasted delicious. Friendly service even though they were super busy. I cannot wait to actually go and eat in at there restaurant.
