We came here today at the end of a long day exploring Bad Durkheim and didn't end up actually going in the salinen but did walk all the way around it, then enjoyed the water playground with our kids. There are a few beer gardens and bistros and restaurants right there I would have loved to stop had we not been so tired. The water playground is on the "front" side closer to the huge parking lot, but there is also a regular yet awesome playground on the other side where the park starts. This can be at least a two hour excursion, especially if you want to check out multiple restaurants in the immediate area (such as the giant barrell!). Admission into the salinen was only 1.5 euro per person, but since we didn't go in,I'm not sure if there is significant benefit to doing so over walking around on the outside.

Very cool. Very interesting. Must experience. This is a one-of-a-kind world wonder. This only cost 1.50 euro per person. There is only one entrance/exit near one end where there is also a cafe. You can stroll along the balcony and watch/listen to the natural salt/mineral water as it drips down over bundles of sticks that form a tightly packed wall. This is a unique experience. This is said to be therapeutic for both your lungs and skin. There is a fine salt mist in the air.

What a great area. Tons to do and loved the relaxed atmosphere. Stopped to stretch our legs and let the dog out. Went for a little walk and explored the area. From a stream to the work out area and a pool, pretty much everything you need and could want. Interesting seeing how the water is filtered. Can’t wait till everything opens back up and we can go in and see how it works.

It's spectacular and good for your health, I hear. The graduation tower lies amidst carefully engineered landscape, with a little man made river and all. If lucky, or unlucky for that matter, you will hit one fest or another with people flocking having yet another occasion to indulge in the local wine

This was a very interesting place. It recommend it to visitors and suggest you taste the water. The salt content is over the top yet the spring water is being cleaned. The cool air on a hot day was like being near the ocean. Quite enjoyable

Wonderful place to visit with a hillbilly flea market next to it on Saturday lol. Never thought of a flea market even being in Germany. It is a small world

Engaging experience especially for anyone interested in history and architecture. Some explanations in English would help but you get the idea from walking around.

Refreshing fun. A good way to get refreshed and try something a little different. The visual interest and the wooden architecture are enough to keep even the most jaded person interested for an hour or so. The views are good and this would be a nice place to kick your feet up and take a deep breath.

This was my second visit to the Salinen wall. We were here in 2017. So this time, we made sure to visit. The wall is about a mile walk all the way around. The water off the salt grass is good for your lungs. Highly recommended

One of my favourite places in the region to chill out either alone or with a friend! The „sea- like“ breeze is great and fresh! The entrance fees costs less than 2 Euros ( 1.50) and no time limits which is reasonable.

It really feels like being next to a sea (the air). It's also beautiful, and you can see how this worked in older times (they have a demonstration where the running water from a stream is used to pump the salty water up the structure). There is a small fee to go to the second floor (less than 2 euros)

Great place to visit and breath in some great air from the salt water. Can get very busy though and it would be nice to have some seats around to rest.

I really enjoyed the tour. This place should definitely be visited. I was lucky so I was there on Saturday when the bazaar is also held here. Everything is very neat, calm and interesting.

There are no proper signs telling what this massive building actually does. But it is impressive and almost worked like an outside air-conditioning unit.

👍👍 Amazing site of physical history. Google maps will try to take you there but it will miss the small trail entrance just north of the hospital building. Follow the trail upwards, maps has an accurate pathing for trails but essentially just reach the hill top through several switch back trails

👍👍 I was confused about what this was exactly based on the Google Maps location information and reviews; I figured it was a ruin of a Roman villa and winery, but there were opening hours and a type of building that most ruins don’t have. Indeed, it is “JUST” a ruined Roman villa and winery, though ther...
