If you are Lutheran, this is a great monument to visit. The Crests and names of each City-State that was a part of the council is shown. Well maintained. Many flowers. Braille model for the vision impaired.

A quick stop, but well worth it. The monument is a sight to see with a beautiful garden surrounding it.

My dad was Lutheran, but it didn't have to be so. Besides being a virulent Anti-Semite (go read his writings if you don't believe me), he was also against religious freedom (he REALLY didn't like Jewish people or the Anabaptists), he called books that had always been recognized as part of the Christian scriptures as "Apocrypha" (Jerome being the outlier here, although one can dispute that, as he said to listen to the Church), and a weird obsession with bodily functions, and caused one of the greatest breaks in Christianity. Not to mention, his critique of the Church wasn't even what the Church taught. Luther imagined what the Church taught was their position. Yes, I am Catholic, but here in the United States, many Protestants acknowledge the reformation to be a bad thing. Because it is. Oh yeah, the "Hear I stand" speech? Probably never happened. Don't celebrate this man. A lot of later evils (and in Germany, you should know what I'm talking about), were influence by his writings.

Awe inspiring monument to a man who shaped history and the future. He truly initiated the changes that led to our freedoms today. Don't forget this man.

Really cool Monument with a lot of history behind it. You can walk through it and there is a great web page that describes who each person is and why the are on the Monument.

The monument recalls a pivotal point in church history that had a dramatic effect on practicing Christians. The bronze statues themselves are impressive and emphasize Martin Luther and colleagues as the instigators of change.

What a wonderful display of history. The site is rich with information and representation of a very important ti.e in history. I strongly recommend visiting this site (and Worms as a whole) to add to your bucket if you ever visit Germany.

With all due respect to the statutes, being a foreigner, it is difficult for me to appreciate them with little knowledge of the history behind.

A beautiful reformation monument, with Martin Luther in the centre surrounded by the faithful pre-reformers Hus, Wycliffe, Savonarosa and Petrus Waldus, as well as other small carvings of Calvin etc around the centre column. On the outside are those who protected Luther like Frederick 'the wise' who kidnapped luther to keep him from harm at Wartburg Castle. The surrounding garden is well kept and there is benches and granite cubes you can sit on to enjoy the historic setting. Must see for all who visit Worms, and walking distance from the local museum, Reformed Church and RC Cathedral. All the main German food retailers, shops and mall are all walking distance.

😐 Nice thought, poorly implemented... endless boring Nibelungen verses in Old German via headphones, exhibit-free exhibition with strange exhibits from plays. Then €6 entry fee for a public museum is not possible and should be urgently revised. I would get an idea from the Kevelaer Museum. There are g...
