Food was absolutely delicious. Outside seating was lovely in the morning sun. Perfect spot for breakfast. Prices are not too expensive, and staff were lovely. Could have been a little quicker with drinks though.

Wow! What a pleasant surprise! Beautiful woodburner on, which was a welcome addition on a cold day. The pizza has to be one of the best in Mansfield, incredible base, sauce and cooked perfectly with the most incredible garlic dip. My husband had ribs and said they were fantastic quality and tasted beautiful. Portions were good sizes. Place was clean, quiet and cozy. Service was good. Thank you so much! We will be back!

It was a wonderful experience when our family visited il Rosso for birthday celebration last night. The qualities of food was so fine at reasonable prices. Very polite and tender staff services which delighted us the whole evening. Thank you so much! Look forward to coming again at the soonest.

Visited 10th March for lunch and couldn't be happier with the service, food as always was outstanding, plentiful and reasonably priced. The only downside was I wished I had a small pot of jus source on the side, maybe because it was just so nice I had mopped it all up :)

The food was ok, but nothing extraordinary. Not too many vegan options, and I would appreciate more innovation rather than just toasted bread with guacamole. Cannot complain about the service. Everyone was nice, however, they could pay more attention to the customers entering the premises without waiting until they'll ask to be accommodated

Service was good and the staff very friendly. Two of us had the roast chicken which was very tasty and well cooked. My friend ordered the lamb which was a little over cooked for their liking but he ate it all without complaining. There is a good selection of food and drink on offer and it's very reasonably priced. We were seated near the bar area which got quite noisy as the evening progressed. Eaten here a few times and always had a decent meal. Aside from table being near the noisy bar we had a good night and I would return.

Went for dinner last night (Saturday). Had a calamari starter with chips. Calamari was over cooked on the outside and very hard to bite whilst being very chewy on the inside. WORST meal I’ve had in 20 years. VERY OVER PRICED and over crowded. Service was a joke, not to mention the “compulsory” service charge. I guess it has to be “compulsory” as it was so bad no one would tip. If you wish to pay HIGH PRICES, terrible food, poor service, this is the place to go. God knows why it’s highly rated.

Full English breakfast was good apart from too much salt in the chopped tomatoes. Shouldn't have to pay compulsory service charge when sitting in the bar area. You have to order and pay at the bar and take your own cutlery etc. to your table. Nobody even asked if the food was OK.

Absolutely amazing. Great food, lovely staff and reasonably priced. Only wrinkle was we asked for the children's meal to be served with the starters and it wasn't, kids got a little grumpy. I would definitely go back though.

Had a family birthday gathering of 10 there today. Smart lookin place with attentive staff. The meals were OK. One pizza was only half eaten as the base was a bit soggy, could have done with 5 mins more in the oven. My wife's lamb dish was very nice but the portion size could have been bigger, the same for the fries that people ordered, a very small amount for the prices charged. My burger was delicious I have to say. Overall every one had a good time, I would like to think I'll return one day.

Frequented il Rosso several times now in recent times and its never failed us, food always on point along with a great service, even during busy times, a little wait on food could be experienced, non the less, good things are worth waiting for! Anyway on this occasion we booked a table for 4 recently for my dad's birthday, unbeknown to these guys -they read our table well, (as it was a low key affair) as after our meal, we could only think was the 'manager' brought over a dressed plate with 'Happy birthday' stenciled on it with a selection of cake with candle to mark his birthday. Great service guys definitely recommended.

Great food, lovely place to eat. Just a little bit less on star rating for service, it took us quite awhile before anyone came to take outer order, to the extent I asked the table behind us if we have to go to the bar. They said no, but no staff where on hand to ask about ordering. When someone did come she got in abit of a mess with what we ordered. Eventually it was sorted. I found it abit strange to include a service charge at the end rather than let the customer choose themselves, even though it said it was discretionary. We did enjoy the food though.

Ok, where should I start from? The minute I stepped in with my partner, we were greeted by a smiling and warm team. I have to apologise because I haven’t noted any names. The wine recommendation was spot on, nice bottle of Cabernet to go with my steak which was perfectly cooked! Amazing quality for, I dare to say, little price. £32 for a Cote du Boef rib, mind blown. The service throughout the night was perfect and it felt like we were part of the family. Thank you everyone, will definitely come back! Visited on the 23rd Oct 23.

Lovely restaurant in an area otherwise not very rich in good ones. It is not really an Italian restaurant, more like a mix European adapted to British taste. But the food is good and they have a separate menu for Vegan/vegetarian which is giving a lot of options and make it easy to pick from (or not as we are not used to be spoiled with option 😉) Booking a table is recommended

My partner had to wait an age to be served at the bar. When it was finally his turn, he had to go to the female bartender at the till, rather than her come over to him. He was very unimpressed. We attended for a Golden Wedding Party. The food was fabulous. The stage had red lighting which wasn't very flattering for the photographs. We were at the back of Il Rosso, which had corrugated roofing. My Mum got dripped on and my partner wasn't warm enough.

The Chicken Supreme with a side of Parmesan Cauliflower Cheese was bliss. The sauce was silky smooth perfect, and full of strong flavour. The chicken was so tasty tender and the skin crispy in a way that makes you drool. The cauliflower cheese was so cheesy! All the ingredients were fresh and tasty. If I became a chef, this is the kind of chef I'd like to be! It was afternoon when I visited and the general hubbub was pleasantly vibrant. Il Rosso is tastefully furnished, modern, comfortable, warm and welcoming. The staff are attentive, smiley, smart and quick to serve. Tables are quickly cleared. The music is just right. Overall, Il Rosso is just plain class!

We came today for Sunday lunch and it was beautiful. They do smaller plates so I didn’t waste too much. We had a bruschetta and a pilpil to start and 3 lamb and 1 chicken dinner (3 small, one normal sized) and they were all fantastic. Even my step dad loved it and had no complaints and he moans just for the joys of moaning 🤣 We had 2 strawberry and passion fruit pavlova for dessert and OH. MY. GOD. it was SO good. It wasn’t cheap but definitely worth it. It came to around £115 and that included a bottle of rosé (£19) and a pint of beer and the compulsory 8% service charge.

Quick service on an early Saturday morning! Food came fast, and was excellent as always. Able to just start day right, food and chill with some coffee. Evenings are usually lively and a great place to go for food/drinks. Can't go wrong.

Excellent lunch and beautiful venue. This was the first time I have visited Mansfield and was recommended to visit Il Russo. The staff were very helpful as it was our first adventure out after Covid and we were unsure of the current requirements. As it was a lovely warm summer day we opted to sit on the terrace. It was beautifully laid out with tables of all sizes. I thoroughly recommend booking in advance as it was very busy even for a Monday lunchtime. I was disappointed that the pots of plants were plastic as the natural fragrance would have added to the ambience. However I appreciate that plants need TLC and can shed leaves everywhere. Regarding the menu we were totally spoilt for choice. We decided on a glass of prosecco as a starter. It was chilled to perfection with a raspberry added. My friend ordered moules which were served with rustic bread. I opted for the smoked haddock risotto. I wasn't disappointed. Unusually for us we both ordered desserts. My friend ordered chocolate brownie served with ice cream. I opted for cheese cake which was baked as opposed to a chilled dessert. Served with fruit compote. I also ordered a cappuccino as I was so chilled that I thought I would nod off. Already looking forward to our next visit.

Booked a table for 6.30pm until 8.30pm for dinner with a friend. Was seated but unfortunately next to a group of about 20 people so was very loud. Asked to be moved but was no other tables so for over an hour had to literally shout at each other to have a conversation. We both had the tapas at £15 95 a head and the food was absolutely delish. Would definitely go back for the tapas. Both ordered desserts but neither impressed us for the price. When the bill came there was a 9% service charge. I honestly think this should be optional. Had they not put the service charge on they'd have received double the service charge in tips so their loss. Looking forward to going back but just for the tapas.

Visited for an afternoon tea brought for my mum. Was delicious, sandwiches were soft and really tasty, ham and mustard, tuna, cheese and spring onion and egg. A lemon cake which was devine, carrot cake which is my favourite didn't disappoint, a decadent chocolate brownie.. Along with a slightly warmed scone with jam and clotted cream. Strawberries , raspberries and blueberries dotted around the sweet section also. And a lovely pot of fresh tea.

Great food. The Sunday dinners are fantastic here. It is slow service, but it's worth the wait as it's freshly prepared. If you park in the car park you must register your car at the bar or you will get a fine. The car park is small so you may need to park somewhere else. There are a few disabled parking spaces, and access to the restaurant is suitable for wheelchair users and buggies/prams. There are different seating areas inside for people wishing to dine or just want to have drinks. When it's warm/hot weather, the restaurant would benefit from air conditioning, or if they have it, then it should definitely be put on. There are toilets for all abilities to access.

The food was remarkable, fresh dough in the Pizzas. Soft and tasty pasta, also good range of Gluten Free. The food is rich in taste, the aroma is great. Naomi and Natasha stole the show and exemplary service. Fair price :). No issues minus the small chill. Good parking spaces.

Been a while since I last visited, really pleased with the eating area outside. Members of staff were wonderful hosts and so attentive to our needs. Highly recommend you to sample the great food in great surroundings.

Had a lovely meal as always, decided to take my extended family this time. I am really not a fan of the service charge automatically being added to the bill. I like to decide how much I tip. The lady manager obviously works very hard, always busy, always doing something but is quite abrupt and I actually almost said let's go somewhere else tonight. However the food was a good as always.

Lovely food but every time we go they can't seem to get the vegan option right, served up yoghurt containing dairy to someone with a dairy intolerance today, last time we went gave her butter with vegan option. Very apologetic both times but they need to understand that some people opt for vegan food because its safer for them, they should only need to sat it once to waitress not have to keep sending her back to kitchen to check!

Everything on the plate was cold apart from the fried egg.. I was with a party of 5 people and all having coffee and breakfast, every meal was cold apart from the eggs.. we waited half an hour for our breakfast to arrive.. if we wasn't in such an hurry or had to wait long we would have complained and asked for another meal.. won't be going again for breakfast.. total bill was £83 including a service charge.. for that money I expect it to be cooked fresh and not left on a hotplate! Only thing cooked to order is the egg.. really disappointed 👎
