At first glance, the restaurant seemed alright. We arrived and waited to be seated. They were a bit full at the moment, so we were asked to wait at one of the tables inside. After waiting for 15 minutes, a table opened up outside and we were able to get seated. However, things took a drastic turn for the worse. We were ready to place our order after 5 minutes, but NO ONE CAME TO TAKE OUR ORDER! The waiters were passing by constantly. My family and I were left seemingly unnoticeable at our table. When we asked one of the waiters to take our order, he assured us that he’d be back. Unsurprisingly, he never came back and after a good 20 more minutes of waiting, we decided to leave and NEVER return!

This is a great find. Usually in touristy areas the restaurants are overpriced and the food is average. Not this place. In addition to being near the beach, the food is very good and the prices are very good. We had great service too.

This place is usually quite busy but the service is excellent everytime, the owner is also always running around and making sure everything is perfect. Food is good and affordable, place is family friendly, definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.

Great place and a very warm welcome!! For the food I ordered the Sea bass which was delicious, grilled and a soft structure. Afterwards I even got surprised by being offered a Limoncello. The port-side is next to the terrace so a great view is given you as well. And youre able to arrive by boat. Gracias

This was one of the worst experiences I've ever had in a restaurant. From the minute we walked in the door until we left. On arrival the waiter wanted to seat us in an area where people were smoking, we are a family with 3 small kids. We were giving a different table in the restaurant. Our menus were handed to us and within 2 minutes he wanted to know our orders and I explained we weren't ready. Things go from bad to worse now. When he came to take our order he took mine, more guests arrived and he left our table to care for them and seat them before returning to take the rest of the order. When meals arrived mine was wrong and had to be sent back. In the meantime a group of people were seated behind us and were placed so close to us the we physically had to lift our table out of the way to use the toilet as we were back to back with other guests. I finished my meal and my plate was taking away but he also went to pick up one of the children's dinners to take away and I had to explain they weren't finished. He didn't even ask if we were done. When he asked if we wanted to see the desert menu he handed me and my wife one before shoving the others in the kids faces as he was again distracted by talking to people who had walked in the door and wasn't even watching our table. I had to push the menu back to him as he couldn't see that it was right up in our 3yrs old face. At this point we asked for the bill lifted our tables so we could get out and left. I've never come across such an unprofessional waiter in my life. Plenty of better restaurants with staff who care for their customers around the Cabopino area. Safe to say we will never be back

Good brib fish, but potatoes came with mayonese instead of cream cheese :/. Don't put mayonese on dishes, please!

A fab evening at La Despansa, in Cabopino port, with music entertainment from Tony Capo. We arrived at 8:30pm, checked in & were shown to our table, ( reserved in advance). Ordered a jug of Sangria, whilst choosing our main courses. Decided on the pizzas, which we could see were being brought out by the serving staff to other guests & looked fantastic. A great choice, as they were excellent. We had Tropical & Barbercoa. We then shared a Grand Marnier crepe & ordered a Bacardi & coke, a cappuccino & brandy. All enjoyed whilst listening to the brilliant Tony Capo, singing songs from the 80's, 90's & 00. Thank you Vincent for a memorable night out. We'll be back next time we are in Cabopino.

Pretty good food, but service needs improvement. It is a good restaurant with some nice seafood offers, however the service was not brilliant and did not match quality of the place and the food. Waiter did not explain in details what goes with the dish, so we ended up ordering extra garnishes that we did not need. Otherwise it was fairly good experience.

We were greeted with a genuine welcome before being shown to our table overlooking the marina. The food we ordered was delicious and the waiting staff were both attentive and charming. An enjoyable dining experience and a hearty recommendation. Strawberry Daiquiri for dessert 🎯

Lovely restaurant on the marina. Smiling faces and prompt service. Go with the tartuffo ravioli. I’ll definitely be back for the live music nights. A great vibe.

Had a fantastic St Juan 2023 at la despensa. Food good, music fabulous and the family and the group got everyone up to dance. The waiters were their normal happy selves if a little rushed off their feet

Haven't been there in a while but we will be back. We brought friends of ours there for a treat and that is exactly what we got. Food, Service was excellent and then the entertainment (Tony Capo) absolutely brilliant. 💯 %. Sorry I don't have any photos.

The restaurant was perfect, it is situated in a great setting in Cabopino marina. On entering the restaurant we were given a good welcome, and from then on things just went downhill, it was not busy the waiters just appeared not to care. The food was served on cold plates, and the food itself was poor quality and not enjoyable. The quality of food was nowhere near the high price they are charging. I don't mind paying a reasonable price for good food but I strongly object to paying over the odds for mediocre food and no service. If I had been on my own I would have left. There is plenty other restaurants at the marina

Absolutely delicious food. Well worth a visit. Lovely music. If there is one downside it would be a couple of the waiting staffing being rather grumpy.

Nice restaurant, great location, i recommend the prawn curry. A little on the pricey side but if you can get a seat by the port it's worth it.

Very tasteful food, I specially recommend pizzas and grilled dishes (meats and seafood). Service is very polite and helpful, if only they wouldn't clear things from table without asking or confirming we're finished. During season there is dancing with live music every Saturday. Bar is stocked very well but staff doesn't know drinks, however after short explaination they will make anything you want.

Great setting with nicely cooked and presented food. I'm not an Italian food lover, hence only 4 stars. In my mind pizzas and pasta is no more than flower and water, therefore we are always overpriced, but that's my opinion. The Despensa is located in prime position overlooking the beautiful marina in Cabopina, which is always worth a visit. The staff are very attentive, and always willing to help, advice, and serve. The menu is probably 90% the same as your local Italian, so there's no surprises here, and choosing what you want is just a formality or routine. I've been quite often, and they usually have entertainment on, tonight was the exception so may I suggest you pay a visit to their website prior to booking a table, which is a must.

Lovely restaurant overlooking Cabopino Port. Friendly staff who have been there for years. We had the three course menu of the day for Euros 16.50 which was excellent. Would recommend.

Excellent Pizzas are served here. The food arrived very promptly considering how busy the restaurant was at the time. The view from this restaurant is also extremely nice. We were lucky enough to be sat right at the front so all of the boats in the marina were very visible (as shown in the photos attached).

La Despensa unfortunately is not worth more than 1 star and reflects the majority of bad restaurants along the Costa del Sol. Being welcomed at the restaurant was already terrible, the reservation wasn´t found and instead of handling it with respect for the other guests, 3 waiters decided to scream over each other to determine which table we were able to get. That should have been the sign to just turn around and not bother, but unfortunately we sat down. The last person wasn´t even seated yet when a young, very moody waiter already asked us what we would like to drink. Asking him for 2 minutes, the drinks menu and wine list, he decided to stand at the table whilst klicking his pen. Wine and water was ordered. Our glasses were served with their fingers in them and when we asked for glasses for the water, they brought us an additional 10 wine glasses, we were a party of 5 and plonked them at the end of the table. A different, very impatient waitress then came to the table and wanted to take the food order when we had to tell her that we haven´t even received the menu yet. She ran, gave us the menu and decided to come back 1 minute later to take the order. We asked for more time when she decided to also stay at the table. Food was ordered, all dishes with glossy words. What we received was far from the mouthwatering description. Tasteless, prefabricated, microwaved impudence. The cheapest ingredients, so far away from any italian recipe. How is it possible to ruin a pizza? Well, they did. These places are so lucky to have such a quick turn around in holiday makers, if they would have to rely on regulars, they would have to close within a very short time. So, this is 2, no 10 thumbs down for this experience and maybe the owner has to think about taking his 80´s relic into modern times and serve food that is at least acceptable

We are faithful clients since many years. The personal ist very friendly, and familiar, always in a good mood! The most charming owners greet personally the clients at their tables, concerned about their well-being. Great atmosphere when there is live music! The food is homemade style, very fresh and tasty. Rather generous portions. Great setting directly in the charming harbor of Cabopino overlooking the yachts. Unfortunately the decoration of the restaurant is old fashioned and needs to be refurbished . The next door places have been nicely renovated, which unfortunately shows up the old fashioned style of la Despensa even more. We thoroughly recommend this place! We are looking forward to our next visit in December! Yvonne and Stefan
