This is the best place for RIBS in Southeast Missouri, heck even most of Arkansas (that I've been to at least), and I'm not joking. Especially when they are fresh. They have huge portions of food. A cold bar with potato salad and other stuff. And a desert cooler in the back with pies. Unfortunately, the strawberry desert is never there anymore.

It looks smaller from the outside than it is for sure. The person helping me recommended the half chicken which was amazing. The beans where definitely good too. They also had pork steaks and pulled pork. The green beans looked amazing. Next time I will try them for sure.

Driving around southeast Missouri, I passed through the town of Maple Hill. Where I found Jay’s. What a fantastic find! I ordered the brisket dinner, which came with two sides - I got fried okra and mac & cheese. And I also ordered their chocolate pie (they had coconut cream, chocolate peanut butter, and some other flavor, all freshly made) It was a football field of fried okra, but it was so crunchy and tasty that I almost ate all of it! The brisket was thinly sliced, very smoky and tender. I got the barbecue sauce on the side, and it was also good. The mac & cheese was just mac & cheese, but I figured for leftovers it’s going to be mixed with brisket so it’s going to be thoroughly excellent. The chocolate pie was really wonderful. A very large piece, lovely chocolate flavor, the crust was kind of like a puff pastry, and it was just really good. The bathrooms were clean, service was quick on my takeout and it’s easy to get to, so go! Stopped here in November 2023, got the Port steak, which was phenomenal. My brother loved the “real“ mashed potatoes, that had the addition of garlic. I had a half smoked chicken, and it was fall off the bone good. We also got cherry cobbler, which kind of looked like a mess in the to-go container, but was full of cherries and crispy oat bits. Excellent stuff!

This place is wonderful in every aspect, food is all great, hard to make a decision on what to get, service is wonderful, always friendly, she's the first one to help when the community has a crisis, couldn't ask for better food, service, friendly atmosphere. Just love it!!

Love Jay's best food & double chocolate pie with chocolate cream. Oh my, so very good! Best backed beans and broccoli salad! The girls are always so good to me!

The food and service was great! The fodd portions are unreal. Definitely a must stop and indulge.

The pulled pork is atrocious !! You can tell they use really low quality meat and ingredients and it taste freezer burnt ( I gave it 3 tries in a year). Absolutely the worst I've ever had . On a scale of 1-10 I'd give jays a negative 5 . The pulled pork is so bad I gave it to my dog. No one there knows how to bbq and it shows in the food . Bring back Jay yall have ruined this bbq place.

All I can say is, the food is so good! Don't overlook this place if you are going through Marble Hill. Best food in town!

Great food, I got the smoked 1/2 chicken. It's fork tender and delicious. The cold slaw was also amazing, sweet and creamy.
