The water level is pretty low for the lake but downstream is pretty nice area to camp and fish

Horseshoe Lake is a beautiful oasis in the desert, with Beautiful mountains surrounding its borders. There are no water sports allowed on the lake, so it’s a great relaxing place to go fishing or paddle boarding.

Awesome ! Beautiful area ! Keep it clean & please don't ruin it for the next visitors ! Check out the damn & spillway as u can walk under spillway ...so cool when flowing ! Wear water proof shoes to keep your feet dry on way to other side ! Have fun ! High clearance recommended ! Campsites below Dam by river & picnic cabanas on top by lake ! Bring a bucket to put out campfires ! Not recommended for large travel trailers at all !

THIS LAKE IS EMPTY!! You can tell where the water used to be. I don't know what's up and why there's no water. But it was kinda sad.

Long drive on dirt road but when you get to the lake it's clean and quiet. Bring out your kayak for some fishing and enjoy the peace. You can also check out Horseshoe Dam while you're there.

Not the best lake but is good enough to get away!! Very hot very dry ...lots of snakes ...no shade ....the worse part is the road to get there SUPER bad 4wheel drive is (almost) a must ... Zero cell service... other than that great ! Lol the whole point is too get away! So i don't mind the zero service scary in case of emergency though...keep that in mind

We had a great time camping this weekend at Horseshoe lake at the Mesquite recreation area. We had a Bobcat come into our camp sight each night. First night we forgot to put our food back into the truck at night and The Bobcat got 1 package of bagels 1 package of bread 1 package of bear creek soup. The Bobcat made quite a mess lol. So the next night we made sure to pack everything away in the back of the truck and the next morning there were paw prints all over our chairs that we left out in the food prep area.

Went there through bloody basin road, beautiful long drive. About 3 hours. Not the nicest road but worth the drive, not necessarily 4wd needed but recommend some vehicle clearance
