I recently stayed at the Hotel Village Katong and overall, I found the experience to be average. While the hotel is marketed as a 4-star property, I felt that the rooms were not up to the expected standard. However, I must say that the breakfast offered at the hotel was very delicious and definitely a highlight of my stay. One major advantage of staying at the Hotel Village Katong is that it is conveniently attached to a mall, which made it easy to access various shops and restaurants. The staff at the hotel were also very helpful and accommodating, which was much appreciated. That being said, there are a number of great restaurants located in the area, and I found myself frequently dining at these establishments instead of eating at the hotel. So, while the Hotel Village Katong is not necessarily the best choice for those looking for an exceptional room experience, it is a decent option with a delicious breakfast and great location.

Overall, my stay at this hotel was great. The rooms were spacious and clean, and the breakfast was enjoyable. However, there was an issue with dampness caused by the air conditioner, resulting in condensation on the bedsheets and clothing which made the room uncomfortable. Additionally, the hotel's multiple entrances made it difficult for Grab drivers to find the lobby. Despite these minor inconveniences, I had a pleasant stay and would recommend this hotel, suggesting that they address the air conditioning problem and improve directions to the lobby entrances.

The hotel is located in Katong region Singapore Pros 1. Hotel Reception staff is friendly 2. The housekeeping also responds quickly 3. Indian travellers might find one or two dish for vegetarians 4. Inside a mall, near many malls so could go shopping and food 5. Got an upgrade from a hotel staff !! So grateful Cons 1. Food and Restaurant staff is not friendly 2. A little old built and has old look to it, it might be because of the old look they want to give Overall a decent experience

Held our wedding at Katong V Hotel on 1 July 2023 and we had feedbacks from our vendors that the hotel staff was nothing but helpful to support them. we are thankful because with everyone working well together we are able to run a perfect wedding with a peace of mind. special shout-out to all banquet staff, especially the ones who took close care of me and my husband. and Limin who attended to our requirements for room make up service. location is awesome, experience is a 10/10.

This was one of the most unpleasant hotel stays I have ever had and I will never return. The room was dingy, dated and depressing. Our bathroom flooded within minutes of the shower being turned on. There were stains all over the toilet bowl and furniture that have clearly not been thoroughly cleaned or replaced in years. This hotel is in need of a complete revamp, and soon.

From the first moment entering the room we knew something was wrong. The stench was overwhelming. We advised the front desk and then went to a couple of other rooms until we found something that was acceptable. the design of the room was unusual with a bath tub in the bedroom and the air conditioning thermostat right beside the bedhead. This thermostat would intermittently buzz and as it is right next to the bedhead caused significant sleep disruption. When we raised this with the hotel management and engineering we were told that this is just the way things are and every room is the same. Although the hotel is well positioned with shops and restaurants close by I would not look to return.

Good location. Very close to restaurants ( right in front of the hotel). The hotel is located inside a small mall, so you have kind of 24hours market, massage, foot and nail treatments… There is a small gym and sauna and swimming pool. Pretty convenient. Breakfast is something to be improved. Great option of food but there is too much heavy food like rices and curries. Might be good sign for some people, but not for me. I ready before regarding the sympathy of breakfast employees. In fact they are not nice. Shower is super great!!!

I was honestly expecting more from this property. A four star hotel would have better kept rooms with doors and windows free of rust, not to mention less noisy air conditioning. I was also disappointed that the hotel does not have tax included options when booming through Expedia. Being slapped with an extra S$110 feels pretty unfair. More transparency in your advertising would be appreciated

love this hotel, we return to our room everyday already cleaned, clean sheets and toilet and shower cleaned up. Very easy to request additional pillows etcetera and staff are friendly. Very easy to check in and check out, no fuss at all.

First impressions: lobby was very nice and check in was swift and friendly. The room was quite basic, decor needs a refresh, but had everything we needed. Air con was too cold. The biggest problem was how moist the room was. Felt really gross. Overnight, the floor near the bathroom would get quite wet and could have been a slipping hazard, especially if one got up to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night. Another disappointment was the room service: the QR code never worked, there was no paper menu in the room, and calling reception is an exercise in luck and patience - phone often rings out. Also, no room service breakfast, only buffet downstairs. Room service only available after breakfast time. Katong is one of my favourite areas to stay in Singapore, and after a long flight, the proximity to the airport is welcome. I like the location of the hotel, connected to Katong V and other malls and excellent restaurants close by. However, next time I will stay elsewhere, probably at the Mercure Roxy again. This hotel was not for me.

Poor aircon throughout hotel. Tiny swimming pool making actual swimming pointless. Mainly unfriendly and arrogant reception desk. Poor quality food at breakfast. Laughably overpriced. Good area though, with great bars and restaurants around Katong.

We only booked one night. Pleasant hotel with very friendly staff. Mostly Asian guests - and the breakfast buffet accordingly. Everything was very clean and although the hotel is a bit older it doesn't smell musty. We were very satisfied. The hotel is 15 minutes (by taxi) from the airport and is ideal for an overnight stay... although we could definitely imagine booking for a week as well

Friendly service. We got the room that was per our request. Comfortable, clean, good soundproofing. Had a good stay. Would recommend. We liked the area which should be easier when the metro station is ready. Proximity to shops and food as well as the east coast beach.

Very Happy with the service and hospitality delivered by Village Hotel Katong team. A special mention to Kenneth, Ben and Lora who personalised the service and made it worth the trip. Very very thankful to Ben who not only located my lost credit card but also reached out and provided it to me saving on the anxiety and chaos. Would surely want to use the services in future. Thanks Team!!!

Hotel is simple but clean, the ambience is typical Chinese Peranakan Singapore. Room is spacious and quite modern. Aircon and water heater works perfectly, bed and pillow are soft. Location is also perfect, it is just next to a small mall with some restaurants and supermarket. The Katong area also has many restaurants options and not too crowded so practically you can find food and shopping in this area. Near the hotel there is a bus stop but quite far from MRT, but taxi and grab are available. Food at the resto for breakfast has not many option but the taste was okay.

Exceptional Hotel with great professional staffs. I want to express my gratitude to Isaac (corporate sales), Ben and Chandra (Peranakan Lounge) After securing my room booking, Isaac made sure my stay was perfect. He also had the initiative to gift me a pre-loaded (SGD 12-15) EZlink which I could use for the bus and MRT. On my first day he met me in the lobby to show me the way to the bus stop and even volunteered to ride along for the 25 min journey to my office. I declined as I had Google Maps to show me which stop to disembark. At the end of my stay, he also help me secure my lost toiletry bag even after his shift had ended. Remarkable service from this young gentleman; going beyond what was required. Both Ben and Chandra stationed at the Peranakan Lounge were exemplary on all 5 days I stayed. Ben always remembers my coffee preference and offered a coffee-to-go after I had requested for 1 on my first day. Both were courteous and professional. People do make the difference. I feel the same warmth and welcoming experience as my stays/lounge experience with Hilton (I have Gold status with Hilton). Difficult initial contact. Contacting the hotel via phone has proven to be an arduous task, with numerous unsuccessful attempts to reach them. Their phone lines appear to be consistently unresponsive, causing frustration. Similarly, despite multiple attempts, there has been no response to emails sent to the hotel central booking, making it difficult to confirm my booking. I hope the hotel improves on this front. It is such a waste, with such a professional team and impeccable service staffs, that people could not stay with you simply because the could not make a booking

The Room without carpet….the floor is really cold. At least the bed area should be carpeted. And there is no shower curtain or glass cubicle - so end out all the water splash all over the toilet after shower.

Had my Bridal Makeup done here and also a night stay after our Wedding ceremony. Csutomer services were good and smooth, peaceful and Private environments and locations of food and shopping centres are all nearby. Very convenient both walking and by transport as well. Recommended.

Picked this hotel as our base for the Formula 1 weekend. Easy check-in and the room was in good order and well-cleaned throughout our stay. Public transportation was easy to get to, but, do note that busses stop running before the subway lines. During F1, pay attention to the disrupted stops on routes and know that getting a cab or rideshare car may be a challenge some times of the day. Location is generally OK, and walking to many coffee shops and restaurants is easy.

I've had the pleasure of staying at Village Hotel - Katong on multiple occasions, and each time has been nothing short of wonderful. Their service and hospitality consistently exceed my expectations. The breakfast at the Peranakan Club is not only delicious but also a delightful culinary experience. During my most recent stay, the hotel staff went above and beyond to make my fiancé's birthday truly special, helping me execute a memorable surprise. Additionally, their attentiveness shone when I realized I had left my ring behind almost two weeks later. Thanks to the incredibly friendly and efficient staff, my ring was promptly found and returned to me. Overall, Village Hotel - Katong is a gem in the heart of the city, made exceptional by its amazing staff. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking to explore Singapore. Thank you for consistently making my stays memorable!

We stayed six nights at this hotel. I would say the hotel was 10/10 from amazing service, room and breakfast. Will stay again here when we visit Singapore. Definitely recommend this hotel.

Amazing service from all the staff at this very comfortable hotel, which made our stay exceptionally good! It seemed like nothing was too much trouble for them - including giving us a very late checkout. One of the managers, Vigneswaran, particularly went above and beyond to make our stay a pleasure, so a huge thanks to him. Recommended!

Always loved to stay at this hotel. The location is very convenient. Staff are super friendly and ready to serve. I wanted to buy a Nonya style pouch the other day and the Manager Leny gifted me a tote bag as it was sold out. In addition, we also found some snacks with a card on our room table from the staff when we gave them a box of chocolate as appreciation. Thus go the culture of gift exchange. They don’t take things for granted. ^_^

Room's phone is faulty on arrival. No repair made maybe because over weekend. Room's vent has some problem, super damp environment and bathroom wet from previous day shower never even dry till next day afternoon. Overall is clean and accessible to shopping and lots of good food nearby.

I have a short 3 days 2 nights stay with the hotel. We booked a family room and the room was spacious. View was also fantastic though we cannot see the full view of the east coast Sea bay, only partial view. Room is very clean. Hotel staff and housekeeping staff are also very friendly. My 2 gals love their breakfast spread too! A great place to unwind for a short vacation. Worth every penny!

Room is spacious and clean. Loved every bits of the hotel! Well, except the fact that I tried calling hotel reception three times to get more amenities but no one picked up. The receptionist is friendly though. Location is awesome. Food is easily accessible and located right above NTUC.

Was here recently from Jun 10 to 12, 2022 for our church retreat. After not being able to meet in-person for 2 yrs, finally we can come together. It was a time of rekindling fellowship, getting in touch and reconnecting with each other. There was time for ice breaker games, worship, team activity games, discussion, encouragement and prayer. I enjoyed as both days I had the chance to go for gym early in the morning! We had to wait for a fairly long time to check in as the hotel was not staffed to support our group. Guess I can understand since our govt just eased the covid-19 restrictions. Overall, I think it was still alright. Hotel is strategically located near lots of eateries and malls.

One of the best experiences I've had for a group setting type conference. EVERYONE in the hotel was welcoming and generous in their service. Amenities, ambience and food were excellent. Thank you Village Hotel for memorable and wonderful stay. From team VS.

Good location and accessible by bus. Greeted with warm and friendly service. Hotel is connected to Katong V. Rooms were larger than most in Singapore, kids loved it. Recommended for families as they have connecting rooms. However, aesthetically speaking, some of the wallpapers were mouldy and furnitures were old - if this was fixed, it will be 5 stars.

Stayed for 6 nights. The property has cozy feel with modern peranakan styled room. Location: Situated in central of Singapore near to shopping malls, restaurants and bus stops. Cleanliness: Room was big, clean and with balcony. A/C was functioning well. Toilet was nice and clean. Towels were clean and change everyday. Rain shower switch sometimes work but most of the time not. And a bidet would be perfect addition. Facilities: It has swimming pool and gym but didn’t get to use so no comment. Service: Exceptional. Hotel staffs were very friendly and helpful. Accommodated my request for early check-in. Laundry service was commendable but quite expensive. Food: Breakfast buffet has good selection of local and western food with breads and desserts too. Wifi: Strong connection. Available in room and hotel lobby. Value for money: Worth it.

Was relocated from Changi to Katong. Overall its a very pleasant stay. Enjoyed early check in and was upgraded as it was my son's birthday. Room was big and spacious. It was a pity that the longue was not operational else would have paid to upgrade. Front desk staffs are helpful and friendly with smiles. We returned back at night after movies and was surprised that they left a cake for the birthday boy with a card, touched by the nice gesture. Would definitely want to be back next time.

I had a good stay here for 7 nights. The room was very humid but i think that’s because Singapore is very humid country. Wished they could install dehumidifier though because the floor was wet for most of time. The room was pretty clean except i found one piece of hair on bed sheet right after i checked in. I was little disappointed but i asked them to change the sheet for me. I’m giving 4 stars because the breakfast was not good… i don’t think it’s worth getting breakfast option. It’s same everyday and they don’t taste good at all. Staffs were friendly. I would stay here again but not get breakfast option. The hotel is connected to small local mall which you can get breakfast there. They have so many bakery shops. There is even food court near by too. Just don’t get breakfast here.

Was surprise to see how well maintained and designed the room we stayed in. Love the ambience created in the room. Family centric. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. The address is surrounded with lots of restaurant, cafe and bars making us wanting to come back again to complete makan check boxes. The setback is currently not accessible through MRT but one is in progress nearby.

This hotel is connected to a small mall called Katong V. Must say that the rooms here are quite nice though old. The toilets have some Peranakan-style design to the mirrors and stuff. Amenities are OK, but not particularly good. One thing I must say is that the toilet has NO LOCK, which is NOT GOOD! Only the shower cubicle has one. The balcony was full of cigarette ash; not good too. Pens and notepads are OK too. The breakfast is not that good apparently. Lobby looks good. The hotel is owned by Far East Hospitality and you get benefits if you are a member. Anyway, all in all this hotel is not bad. I recommend staying here.

Friendly reception and bellhop. Attentive service. Room is spacious and simple furnishings; sufficient for the business traveller. Not very pedestrian friendly though, lobby is located at level 2 and have to walk down the drive and a bit of a walk to get to the road, however the shopping centre via the other exit affords an exit to the other side. Bus stops are near but no nearby MRT station, though a new line is currently being built with a station just outside, so will be convenient to get into city centre in a year or 2. Amenities nearby and walkable.

Stayed here with my family on Feb. 2, 2023. Location is great! Rates are reasonable! place is clean and very nice! Staff were friendly and all very helpful. Definitely recommend this place.

The room is nice and actually big. The place is quite far from the city center. However, the transport system is such convenient that it won't be a problem. This place is accessible by bus rather than train. The thing I DON'T like is their breakfast. This is the worst 4-star hotel breakfast I've had. They have a limited selection and to be honest, the food they prepare doesn't cater to international travelers—limited choices of food even for an Asian like me. If you have a choice, don't avail of their breakfast and get breakfast outside the hotel.

Location Location Location.. it's the highlight.. a great find in Singapore. Rooms are more spacious when compared to the rest of Singapore hotels. Friendly staff. Very much recommended.

  • 5/5 Harry S. 1 year ago on Google
A great place to stay however transport links are not particularly great to access the city centre. They had friendly staff and a great pool, and a good location for local amenities but less convenient for getting to the centre as it generally involves a 30 minute bus ride. There will soon be a metro right outside, and this will put it in a perfect location. The breakfast was nice, and the rooms were spacious with a nice view over the city skyline!

Everything is perfect about this hotel, the location where you can walk around and enjoy a good beer and some amazing Street food ! Surprisingly the rooms are really big and spacious for Singapore, a bit on the expensive side, but eh you've come to most expensive city in the world, overall no complaints , amazing service and they welcome you with a smile !
