I had such a beautiful time at Ocala National Forest. I especially love the first come first serve campsites at Lake Dorr. Ocala allowed me a safe space to relax, recharge and reconnect with nature, with me friends. I hiked the st Francis trail and the yearling trail which was a great experience to familiarize myself with Florida ecosystems. I also saw a black bear leaving the St Francis trail. I'm grateful for Ocala!

I camped out over a weekend in May, and the location is beautiful, but over the weekend, I saw 50+ ticks. Needless to say, it's probably a good idea to bring some kind of tick/insect repellent. Other than that, we enjoyed swimming in the spring and exploring the trails.

This place is awesome we went there Saturday to camping and we found a nice spot to do it , was close to Juniper spring maybe about 5 minutes from there , I don’t have a 4x4 car but I do have a AWD Nissan Rogue and to tell I didn’t even use it cuz the road was pretty good , I can give the coordinates, it was 29.15357Β° N, 81.78873Β° W but I saw a pole on the edge of the road saying 127 , yes Ocala National forest it’s pretty big and has many entrance so you can take anyone of them as long you have a 4WD but if you don’t just make sure to take a good road and you can camp anywhere there it’s free , you will enjoy the sound of night the stars it’s pretty cool πŸ”₯✌️

One of my favorite places on earth . I don’t know where to start . So many different ecosystems, so many places to go , see , do , explore. Hike , Bike , swim , Jeep trails , wildlife , springs , rivers , creeks , ponds , camping . You can go from prairie to pines to scrub in less than five miles . You can literally disappear into peaceful bliss here . I have spent many days doing just that . If you don’t like the outdoors & want to come here and throw your trash away . Go HOME !!! Please leave it better than you found it if possible . That is for the locals even more so (take your mattresses and your toilets to the dang dump ) don’t throw out the trash cause your trash . Ouch sorry … I get sick when I see this . It’s our back yards also !! I hope these people that do this get caught

Great place to escape the electronic leash and enjoy nature! We did a good hike from Pat's Island to Juniper springs. Stopped by hidden pond and enjoyed a relaxing break. Just make sure to bring enough water or a filtration system to refill the water from the pond.

Absolutely amazing. Clean campground, well care of the areas. It has many amenities but the best part is the Spring . We had a great time and we are definitely going back very soon. I highly recommend it.

I only went up the oklawaha bye boat to the dam. Heard it was blocked and impassable. Not the case though, beautiful as always. There are definitely some changes and make sure you trim the motor up around the trees because there's a couple of hidden logs that you can't always see until you're on top of it. Be careful and have fun

Love living in the ONF, beautiful and over 800 lakes to explore along with juniper and Alexander springs. My only request is take everything that you bring in back out with you, we have monkeys, Gators, black bears, hogs, panthers, tegu's, and many more animals that don't want your trash in their home.

I love the Ocala National Forest! But, if you are the kind of person who throws trash out the window or on the ground, please don't come here.

This was our second visit and won't be out last. My daughter who lives in Jacksonville and daughter from Tallahassee met us. Only problem was we couldn't get a campsite for our RV. Will have to plan ahead on the next trip. It was so much fun kayaking. I was shocked that I actually got in the same water as alligators. We saw the monkeys on our first trip, but missed them this time.

I was a little surprised that I would get this opportunity to review the great Ocala National Forest. I happen to call it home and I've lived here for 33years. I can remember when there would only be a car or two coming down SR40 about every hour and a half, that's how quiet this area was back in 1977, when I first moved up here. Nowadays, I spend my time doing little things like gardening and training my monstrous 7 month old pittie Bailiegh. The Forest is a haven to we who need to get off the paved parts of Marion County roads to maybe find our tranquility here in Nature's obscure paths among the pines and oaks. It's a place of safety and zen, but being fully aware of your surroundings at all times keeps you just as involved as observing the wildlife and avoiding being tripped up by a fallen log. There's lakes and ponds to explore and if you like to fish, stop where it strikes your fancy. The down side is running across a big pile of trash that some unscrupulous person or persons has dumped down a dirt road because they're too lazy and stupid to find out where the Marion County Landfill is. I don't want to end this on a bad note, though. The Ocala National Forest is a paradise in and of itself. It's home to countless wonders, animal, vegetable and mineral. I also call it my home and I will never leave it. I love taking walks down our dirt road in the early evening with my dog and my husband and seeing the birds and squirrels and rabbits out around the pond in front of our house. Light winds blowing across the pond as the setting sun caresses the tops of the trees making the sky look like an abstract painting. Sitting outside and watching the trees swallow up the light in the sky. Life here is still a couple steps behind city life. I like it that way.

Summer isn't the greatest time to really enjoy camping & the great outdoors - but the week was well spent here, relaxing, being together, and swimming in Salt Springs. It's a great, beautiful area!

It was awesome. I got to watch, from a distance, a mother bear supervising her 2 cubs as they played around a downed tree. Unfortunately, I didn't get pics as my phone was still attached to the quad where I use it for gps, and I didn't want to draw their attention by moving around too much. But wow! What an amazing experience.

We are having a wonderful time. It is nice and quiet here for as many campers that are here. I could come again. Love it
