We put our kayaks in here to paddle with friends and enjoyed it. Nice maintained park with facilities. They rent tubes for tubers (apparently you can't use your own). They also have a shuttle service for kayaks and tubers. We just paddled up and down the area. Lots of wildlife - animals and people 😂 We got the VIP parking pass which made it awesome!! $20 was the cost I believe. It was a holiday weekend and the parking lot was full. We pulled up and parked right behind the pavilion. So convenient. Beautiful clear water! Even being crowded, we had an awesome time!

My husband and I just tubed the Rainbow River today. We started at 830 am and finished at 2:45 pm. It was filled with amazing views and wildlife. Highly recommend to anyone wanting to do a long tube ride. However, the only mistake we made was to check the weather forecast and it was very windy. I would suggest going on a clear day. The tube rentals and shuttle are very organized.

Great place to launch from. We brought our own kayaks. Note: the fee is $7 now, not $5. Really friendly workers that didn't mind a bunch of questions about the area and things to see, etc We just parked in the lot and carried our kayaks thru the gate where you pay. They have clean bathrooms, and the launch ramp is an easy incline. We went early and there was only a couple people. Later upon return, there were quite a few people clogging up the ramp. If you're not ready to launch, please remember to wait until you are and let others get out on the water. To the left as you launch upstream are the headsprings at Rainbow River State Park. There is a $2 fee if you want to park and walk around. I believe it's about 1.5 -2 miles. It's beautiful and crystal clear. Downstream from KP hole you can follow the tubers and go all the way to blue run if you're up for it. It's farther than expected, maybe 4 plus miles I'd say, but just guessing. We did see two gators individually on the bank of the river, which weren't hurting anyone and there were even some idiots with snorkels getting very close along the sides exploring but they left them alone. All in all it was very fun just remember to bring your sunblock and a reusable water bottle. Our legs got pretty burned from being out 5 hours.

Such a relaxing time tubing down the river. Make sure to bring plenty of sunscreen because tubing time is 4 hours long. So beautiful and got to see some otters!

Second time and it was fun for all. They don't allow alcohol or anything disposable on the river. No plastic water bottles or food bags. Multi use drink containers and Tupperware for snacks is recommended.

Super fun outdoor activity. Our group of 5 rented tubes. We brought a cooler filled with snacks in drinks in no disposable containers, a cooler floatation devise, a dry bag for keys etc and sunscreen and snorkel equipment. We tied our floats together with a rope we brought and jumped out and snorkeled most of the trip. I even got to swim with otters. It was a 4.5 hour float trip and we get out at a marked obvious location under a bridge where a shuttle brought us back to the park. It was $25 per person for tube and shuttle day adventure.

Went on a Sunday afternoon, pretty busy & parking was full so waited about 20 mins to park. 7$ a person for entrance fee, just for swimming, a little pricey if u ask me. The swimming area is not that big. The water is clear and cool, rocky in some places, can watch all the people go down the river in their floats & boats. There are bathrooms, showers, lockers, picnic area & charcoal bbq grills. We only swam but looks like u can go tubing, paddle boarding, scuba diving & kayaking for a fee. They sell sodas & various ice cream treats.

Is $30 per person tubing and $10hour for canoeing or kayaking. No pets allowed not even in the park area. No alcohol No drinks unless in a non-disposible container like a tumbler or reusable bottles. Last customer for tubing is at 12:45pm. There is a police half away n the will check your cooler n containers for alcohol and disposable drinks. Other that that is a nice ride.

Super great hidden gem! We decided to take the family here since Rainbow Springs Park was too crazy busy. We walked up and had the entire place to ourselves. Most people use it for tubing and kayak rentals. We took a 1.5 hour kayaking adventure up the spring. It was $30 total for renting the two tandem kayaks. It was gorgeous. There were great places to swim and see turtles, fish, birds. The bathrooms were clean. We grilled out using their grills. It was perfect.

Beautiful place, crystalline waters, very peaceful, fun. I took a tour with Get up and go kayaking on a lass bottom kayack. Sassy was our tour guide. She is wonderful, funny, a nature lover and protector, very knowledgeable. I really enjoyed the tour.

Had a great time tubing down the river. The water feels amazing and we seen a lot of birds when we came during the week. Wish we would have brought the sunscreen with because we should have reapplied!

It was a fun dive spot, clean warm water on a chilly day. Unfortunately a little crowded since the boats canceled and everyone had the same idea. Clesn bathrooms, friendly staff. Get here early though cause parking is limited. Lots of ear equilizing here since the depth isn't really consistent but it's super pretty.

Only $5 to park and launch my kayak. Go left upstream so you can have a relaxing paddle back. Nice spring in the right after a ways of paddling that is beautiful sandy bottom. You can back up to the ramp to unload ..watch out for the timing though since the park unloads many at a time. ENJOY!

We got there at 7:30am (Memorial Day weekend) and the parking lot was nearly full. Rented a tandem kayak for $64 and spent the next 4 hours floating down crystal clear pristine waters. Absolutely beautiful day. We arrived back around noon. My only gripe: I don’t quite understand how to get in if the parking lot is full, they have a sign out front that says “lot full- no drop offs” with an employee blocking the entrance. We would have definitely preferred to arrive at noon (long drive from Tampa area) but just don’t understand how to navigate the system. Park closes at 8pm. Would be helpful if they would provide more information about what to do when the parking lot is full.

Great facilities and where we usually launch. Not far from the spring head. There's a really cool little beach kind of area where a private spring empties into the river just north, really fun place to hang out, but fills up early on weekends.

What an absolute blast and beautiful day to take the paddle boards out. Convenient parking, easy drop in, super helpful and friendly staff. Bathroom facilities were very well maintained which is a huge green flag! Can't wait to visit again!

We canoed down the crystal clear Rainbow River on January 7, 2022. Shared the river with a pair of Otters, lots of birds and only an occasional kayaker. Easy ride with lots to see. Perfect time of year to go is right now!

Nice spot on Rainbow river to launch kayaks and boats. So much easier to go straight up to the river instead of the long walk from the state park at the head spring. Lots of otters right at the dock. Clean facilities with bathrooms, rentals and friendly staff. Keep in mind their closing times if you park your car inside the gate. They close the gates close to sunset time.

We rented our kayaks online down the road at Rainbow River Rentals and they dropped us off here at KP hole to launch the kayaks. There is a little bit of a wait to check-in. Three important things to know ahead of time: all food and drinks must be in reusable containers, they have scanners to put over your drinks to test for alcohol, and you must have $7 cash or card to enter the park. There were a lot of people on tubes that I believe they rented from KP hole directly. I saw a tuber drift right by a small alligator and the alligator didn’t even flinch. They won’t hurt your unless you mess with them, which no one did at this time. The river gets a little busy at times, but it is overall still a very pleasant experience. KP hole park is very nice and I highly recommend everyone visit at least once in their lifetime.

This park was great, and the staging area is close to the parking. The only thing I wish I'd known is that it's only a 1.5-mile paddle up to the head spring. I should have looked before, and I would have put in further down or gone down a bit before going up :) happy to report there were river otters playing the day I went!

Went on a 2hr clear kayak tour with Sam, it was my 1st time ever going kayaking and in rainbow springs. My partner and I had a blast! Sam was very nice and funny would recommend going on a tour with him

This float down the river spring water was absolutely amazing. Water is so clear and see through. It's like a whole another world. I spent 3 hours snorkeling there absolutely amazing 10 out of 10

This place is a great paddle/kayaking destination. If you're a people person, you're in luck because there are plenty of them here. If you prefer solitude, you'll have to contend with a plethora of other alone-time seeking individuals. But it's worth it to experience the wildlife and exceptionally clean, clear water. Take a swim while you're at it if you enjoy cold water in December. Otherwise, you may want to save your water fording for warmer weather.

If tubing, it's cheaper than rainbow springs and twice as long (4 hr tube ride). Water is absolutely gorgeous. And we even got to see otters. Would highly recommend and do it again.
