Really recommend this cafe. I got a small henna design on my arm - there are so many to choose from and you can tell the ladies are highly experienced. All Henna designs are at a fixed price so you can avoid the more stressful negotiating experience we were told to avoid in the square. We then had a light lunch of hummus and salads, which was tasty. Very fair prices with such friendly service. Really recommend.

I would definitely take the time to come here for a small snack and henna design. First go and get the henna then enjoy the snack afterwards so your hand can dry. Staff are great and there are so many designs to choose from and at a fair cost.

Lovely little oasis in the medina and experience to have some good quality henna applied on the first floor below the cafe The Lovely ladies : Madame Aicha and Madame Nadia have the artistic touch and gentle composure. The were patient with all our questions and let us take our time. There are books of designs to look though after all the choice, I had some idea of type I wanted but finally ask them to create to their own vision for my hand. Highly recommend! We had excellent The Marocaine as well, but did not eat from the restaurant

Waste of money - I got a henna tattoo which at the beginning looked so nice, but once the henna came off it was barely visible. I followed all instructions the gave me so I’m pretty sure it’s just the products they use that are not good. Don’t waste your money here.

Pretty good food here. We came here for a light lunch - got some noodles and a couple soups. The noodles were a little bland so I mixed some of the minestrone soup with them which did the job. The soup was delicious. My husband had the pumpkin soup which he enjoyed. Service was reasonably good however when the food was served, we were told one soup wasn’t available which would’ve been better if we were told at the time of ordering. Decent vegan options!

We went twice there. We loved the food, the drink, the henna and the place. Good prices too. If we ever go again to Marrakech this place will be our to go place for food.

I thought the food was amazing and the price great. I loved the vegan tajine. Highly recommend. Other vegan options as well. I paid 70dh for a vegan tajine with a big bottle of water. The VEGGIE tanjine was so tasty, full of flavour, definitely above my expectations. The staff was very friendly. A note, to pay with a card they charge a fee. I am quite used to just use my card but it seems everything is in cash in Marrakesh, so not necessarily a downside but something to note. #vegan #veganfriendly #nabati #vegetarian

BAD! Very, very bad. The worst food I had in Marrakech. Their menu says something and they give you another thing completely.. pretty much you’re being tricked. I ordered a mojito that tasted like pee. + the place was so dusty, definitely not the cleanest, & the whole vibe was off.. it was completely empty when we went (around 6 pm) so I guess that says something. Overpriced as well.

I think the idea of this place is cool but the food is not good. If you're here to get a henna, then maybe you should come here. If you're looking for delicious food, DON'T. This place is super hyped with zero locals coming here. After we were seated, we looked around and all we noticed was Europeans or Americans. After taking a bite of our food we realized this place is a tourist trap. The food was unflavored and seemed like it was made for the European palate rather than how locals eat it. Also, the place is overpriced for the quality of food. The only thing that was good was (we didn't get henna) the service. Other than that, I highly recommend finding another place if you're looking for good food.

My husband and I both had the Berber burritos. They were good, but not great. Maybe I just prefer a traditional Mexican burrito. Still it was good, filling and decently priced. One thing this restaurant does really well though is their menus! Menus came in English, French and Spanish and came clearly marked with vegetarian, and gluten free labels as well as allergy warnings. I wish all restaurants did this. It would make orders easier!

Prices are good as is service but the food was average. Had a salad and cous cous but it was nowhere near the level that I've had it elsewhere across Morocco.

Wow this little place is stunning, and the Art work that fills the place is incredible. You can sit and have something to eat or drink in the cafe/retaurant area. I got a Natural Henna Tattoo done here that lasted about 10 days with amazing detailed artwork with skill and precision. My henna tattoo was beautiful you can see the super quality of it in my pictures. I really enjoyed my visit here. Thank you to the henna cafe staff for looking after me on my visit.

Upselling, women relied on tips, not what we expected on the basis it was a set price and an introduction of responsible business with an instruction not to negotiate as prices were fair. The impression given did not match the reality, especially if you speak the local language and you hear what is going on in the background.

Very welcoming team of staff, and enjoyed the experience! Great selection of designs to choose from and certainly more peace of mind in the materials being used than selecting a random seller on the street. A heater is used to dry the henna initially so you don’t have to worry about walking around and accidentally smudging the artwork. Good selection of food and drink too, as well as a small gift shop to browse.

We ordered the hummus and couscous. Honestly, the food wasn’t very good. The staff was pretty nice, though. The henna art was beautiful, but my henna didn’t even last a full week though even though I kept it on for 8 hours and didn’t get it wet for 24+, so that was a bit disappointing.

Such good food and good prices that we ordered way too much both time we visited! Great for vegans and lovely rooftop setting. Fresh and yummy.

We came for lunch on weekday around half past three pm. We ordered Berber omelette, Amlou chicken and orange juice. The omelette was great, Amlou chicken was OK. Juice wasn't pure orange juice but still good. Service was a little slow because of the busy hour but friendly and nice. Prices are good, place was clean, I would recommend for everyday lunch.

GLUTEN FREE menu! Pretty much all the menu can be made GF, never been so excited to see a GF label! The henna cafe is really easy to find, and is very cute inside. The menu has an array of options with lots of dietary requirements catered for. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. The food is 10/10 and I think we got over excited and ordered too much food, even got to take some away with us! Would 100% recommend, gluten free required or not!

Various terraces. Great menu with options for vegans and vegetarians. Attentive service. Falafels are amazing.

Being out of the extreme heat and on comfortable cushions made this a lovely experience with my young daughter. They have hundreds of patterns you can choose from. I wanted a specific one and they told me the price up front and it came out beautifully. You can have tea while you wait for the henna to dry. So relaxing.

We visited this restaurant for dinner and to experience some henna art. The was a mixture of locals and tourists. Food and prices were catered towards both. The bread basket was complimentary with food and it was tasty. We got another small basket with the meal as my husband really enjoyed it with his tagine. He had the kofte tagine and I had the chicken enchilada. His kofte tagine was quite tasty, and he really enjoyed it. My enchilada on the other hand wasnt great. Would have tried something else. The salad it came in with was nice. After dinner I got some henna art on my hand. I was given a book to read and to pick out a design. The henna artist was quick and efficient, following the design in the book very well. After she was done I had to sit in front of a big fan to touch dry the henna. Once she was happy with how much it had dried she applied a lemon sugar solution to my hand and sent me on my way. When I paid for the henna I was given a little sock to put over my hand while I slept! A god send as I was worried about getting the sheets dirty at our riad! Back at the riad I came across an Indian guest who complimented my tattoo and said the method used by the henna artist was proper and traditional! Would recommend for anyone wanting a traditional henna tattoo and some traditional grub at an affordable price.

If you want actual REAL and natural Henna, then this is the place to go. The ladies do a fantastic job and you know they are not using questionable chemicals that may cause burns. Highly recommend. Added bonus as it's indoors and you can get food and drink too.

We just had drinks here so can't comment on the food but we were looked after well and the place has a nice atmosphere. The henna ladies were brilliant so talented and much better than using the women in the square using henna from goodness knows where with little talent for design. This cafe uses brown henna and there is a huge book full of designs to choose from. Great care is taken over both the henna and the after care. We would totally recommend this experience.

The food is not good so I would recommend you to do henna only. The staff is very nice and creates good henna. The henna colour from natural ingredients is brown on your skin eventually. The ‘drawing’ takes around 10mins and you sit in front of the fan to dry it for 10-15 more mins, then u leave it on 6-8hrs. It will fade away gradually within 1-2 weeks. Price is 100-150mad average.

  • 5/5 Marion 4 months ago on Google
I recommend this place if you're looking for a high quality henna. Aisha has 20 years experience and you can tell by her skills. The process is really quick (5min application, 10min drying time). There's a big catalogue with plenty of patterns to chose from. Make sure you don't have a busy day as you're supposed to keep the henna paste for at least 8h. The prices are fair.

Great vegan food, staff and henna art. We had the lentil pancakes, falafel and veg couscous. Our fav were the pancakes and falafel with delicious tahini sauce. But the star of my experience were the lovely artists doing the henna work. They were kind, welcoming, efficient and great at what they do. Especially at such a great price! I definitely recommend coming here. Keep in mind they might close sooner than 20:30 if it's quiet, so recommend coming here 19:30 the latest.

Of the (many) restaurants we visited during our time in Marrakech - this one was my favourite. Mohammed, our waiter, was friendly and engaging and the food was absolutely outstanding! Incredible value for money in a vegetarian-friendly and ethical venue. Check it out.

I left a review without comment and received a response from the restaurant, so will elaborate on the 3 stars. Service was good, but food was just ok. It lacked flavor for my taste. Just my opinion, but had food other places with more flavor. Reasonable pricing though.

It was a lovely place. They were very helpful in more than just service, but also with other places to visit in Marrakech and Morocco. They even opened a bit early for us and offered us shade and drinks. They offered food when the terrace was opened (earlier than they planned on!) A bit of a mix up on the order, but it was great either way. Definitely would recommend! Side note: The art is amazing!

Amazing and safe henna. They're welcoming and the prices are affordable (75 dirham for mine)

  • 1/5 Anmohl K. 2 years ago on Google
Overpriced, regardless went due to its high reviews and ratings on Google and happy cow. Not impressed with the quality of the food compared to the many places we've eaten in Fes and Marrakesh. Ordered a Mexican wrap and a couscous - didn't taste fresh, couldn't finish it. Couscous was ready in 15-20 minutes, pretty sure it takes 2 hours - should've been this especially with the price paid. Had the bread by itself as it was soft and tasted fresh. Friendly staff though, but wouldn't go again.

Very nice designs for a good price! I've had the henna on the back of my hand for 1.5 weeks already and it still looks great! Their food is also good, and the people are very nice :)

An oasis in the middle of the busy old city where you can relax on the sunny terrace. Servers and staff are welcoming and kind. Shoutout to Smail and Ayoub for being especially nice~ ☀️🌶🥣 Food was delectable and warms the soul. 🙏🏻💕 Of worthy mention are the Moroccan soups, vegetables and lentil crêpes. We were very happy with what we got for the price point! Henna Art Cafe definitely deserves a visit, especially for those struggling with vegan and gluten free options in Marrakesh. N.B. for what’s not on the menu: The Daba noodles are instant noodles. The iced tea is Lipton tea. No vegan milk available unfortunately.

Read the reviews and heard that they serve good food. Went the first time for some food, found it quite expensive for what had been served. I Was still hungry afterwards. The meatballs in the tajine werent fully cooked. So went a second time to get some henna. They say it lasts 1-2 weeks, but after 2 days my henna already started fading. Friendly personnel, but quality isnt that good.

My boyfriend and I were welcomed and explained how it worked, ate amazing food whilst I choose a henna design. The lady did a good job and afterwards I got a sock to sleep with so the henna could stay on and get a nice color. The pictures are from the morning after.

I didn’t make it there to eat but we did hire henna artists for an event we had at a different location. Lori was very helpful when we corresponded via email! She helped arrange everything, the contract was clear (and fair)! The artists and translator that came to the event were phenomenal. Super warm, friendly and incredibly accommodating. I definitely recommend their work. Hope to eat at the cafe next time I’m in town!

A beautiful cafe and somewhere the parents can have a light eat while the kids (and adults!) can get henna. The henna was beautifully done. The food was ok, not real street food like you can get around the cafe, but it's a nice place to chill out
