The place is beautiful. The high atlas mountains at the background are breathtaking. My children loved feeding the fish with some leftover bread from lunch. The area is surrounded by presumably olive trees, many thousands of them. I have seen people doing picnic in the garden. A fun family place for outing. I recommend

The Menara Gardens in Marrakech, Morocco, date back to the 12th century. With its iconic pavilion and picturesque reflecting pool, the gardens provide a peaceful retreat. Surrounded by olive groves and views of the Atlas Mountains, it's a delightful spot for relaxation and exploration of Marrakech's historical heritage. 😜😜

Nice place to visit with family, but there isn’t much to do or to see. Just had a stroll around to the “artificial lake” which was quite polluted. It was a nice place to sit down and enjoy the breeze on a fairly humid day. Not really a place I’d recommend unless you want to kill sometime. NOTE: Entrance to the garden is free, parking across the gardens was 10 dirhams.

Visit here when the weather is nice. Beautiful place. 50 dirham to enter the building at the far side but maybe worth it. The place is a bit far out of the old city but for sure worth at least getting a taxi to. The view is all there is to see but it is great. Plus the walk there through the olive fields is also nice.

While the gardens may not offer extravagant attractions or thrilling adventures, they serve as a serene haven for those seeking a moment of calm amidst the vibrant chaos of Marrakesh.

A beautiful olive garden in Marakkesh. A nice place to spend the day with family under the Olive trees. The reservoir in the garden offers stunning sunset views. The panoramic view of Atlas mountains in the background adds to the beauty. The garden closes at 7:00 pm . So in the summer one may not be able to see the sunset. Also the day should be clear to see and enjoy the Atlas mountain view.

Beautiful! Love it. Wouldn't get a tour guide as they give you a little paper with information that is enough.

This is a real Olive Garden. That is basically it. The park is free to enter. But if you want to see the little house by the pond and take a view from the first from up, you need to pay 10 dirahms. Ok to visit if you are free. The walk towards it is pleasant.

Worth seeing, very peaceful. Its free to e ter and walk around the water. We took loads of pictures. To enter the building there is a fee. Allow an hour or two if you just want to chill.

Beautiful lake but not much to see/do. There are a few small shops. You can relax reading a book or enjoying the view behind the lake

Beautiful and inspirational. Definitely worth stopping by, the colours and the plants/cacti and like nothing else. It does get pretty busy, so strongly advise to book ahead and avoid queues getting in. There is a little cafe at the end, worth stopping in for light refreshments etc

Amazing place, no access fees for the garden or the "pool" area which is nowadays rare if not unheard of. There are few shops that sell food, clothes and general items. There is a guy that showcases bread in a basket that you can buy from for 1 MAD to feed to the fish if you like. From what I heard, the only way these fish eat is through tourists which is a bit sad as if there isn't enough food they could die. The Menara itself is nice, the entree fee was 10 MAD to access it, take pictures and basically walk around inside it. It has a public toilet fully equipped, paper, water and so on which is nice for a "public" W.C. There is also a long walk in an olive garden, very clean, fresh air and super quite. Perfect to break free from the noise of Jamaa El Fenaa and Old Medina. Overall, great experience and would love to visit again in the future.

Our driver dropped us off…we are still trying to figure out how these are gardens! There’s was a huge retention pool with dirty water and olive groves all around the cement walkway. You could skip this…unless we missed something while we were there! We walked all around the sidewalk around the rest room pond and only saw olive trees! No gardens!

This garden is pretty good but it needs some work to bring it back to its glory. But you can see that this place was once an amazing place to be for sure. It is definitely worth visiting if you're in Marrakech.

Lovely and serene spot, typically patronized by locals. The garden itself is entirely of olive trees, so it’s not particularly interesting. If you’re visiting Marrakech, and pressed on time, cancel this attraction off your list. If you do have time, come prepared for a picnic and enjoy the ambiance.

Great place with chill vibes and a very calm atmosphere. Even though a bit hidden deep into the Medina but that's a plus since no locals frequent it. The bar offers a variety of drinks and cocktails, and they have a Jazz night with talented musicians. Did I mention the chill vibes? The Pergola = simply a good time.

If you can visit before the tourist rush these 11th century gardens and large reflecting pool are a peaceful and tranquil getaway. A little off the beaten track, closer to the airport than the city centre. 10am is a good time to visit.

This is a nice place to visit, but if you're pressed for time or visiting Marrakech for the first time on a long weekend, it can be missed. Its located just outside the medina and a short 5-10 minute taxi ride. The gardens are especially popular with locals who like to come here for a picnic, and you can walk around the pond and take some nice photos. It's also an opportunity to try a camel ride, but whether the guys will still be there post-covid restrictions remains to be seen.

Stunning gardens outside of the city-life, but not too far away from it. It's not a must-go on my opinion, but if you have some spare time and feel exhausted of the souks and narrow streets, it can be a beautiful stroll. Also, it's very close from the airport, so if you're traveling light you may consider going there before the airport and then just continuing your way up to the Menara airport.

Beautiful place to put on your city tour itinerary when you have more time in Marrakech. No entrance fee if you will just go around and need to pay when you will go inside the center palace. Big garden of olives. Would be nice if the center water pool be clean and change. They said the water system is very old and they used water from Mount Atlas during the old times. A lot of things need some TLC tender loving care, change, updating, cleaning and renovating. Still happy to see this place.<3

Visiting from England. Lovely park really would recommend going. Massive fish in the lake at the top, we went on a Sunday where all the locals was there. Such a good atmosphere, but if you head over to the olive trees to music, the locals will come out with hats if you try to take photos.

Clean and nice place for some relaxing time or picnic. The public restroom is in the area where you have to pay 50 MAD for foreigners.

No shade, mainly olive groves to see and a 'pool' that was green. Lots of other great gardens to see

  • 4/5 Alpha -. 1 year ago on Google
Seems like it was mostly for locals, can't walk around the water you have to walk back. Don't stay past 17:00 the kids are pretty sketchy. It provided added entertainment with the security guard chasing them around

Nice place. Lots of people relaxing and chilling out. Few places to eat and drink not bad on price but supermarket across the road for a colder drink and cheaper.

  • 4/5 Chris R. 1 year ago on Google
I honestly didn't think that this place was worth the visit! It is beautiful, but there is no shade and it takes a bit of time to get to! However, there are plenty of places to sit down and have a tea while there and hide out from the sun for a bit!

The garden is free to visit, the Pavilion costs 50MAD. While the lake is nice to look at, there isn't much to do there apart from chilling. Maybe it's more appealing in the summer, but since we had strong wind going it was rather uncomfortable being there. There is a little Café and a souvenir shop next to the lake. Unfortunately, no toilets outside of the Pavilion. When staying on the path you'll see a neverending amount of olive trees, couple of orange trees and surprisingly lots of stray dogs. All in all it was nice, but if you don't have too much time in Marrakech the Menara Gardens can be missed out on, especially considering the long walk there.

Park with a pavilion in the middle and a large water basin. The park is free to enter, but they charge 50DH for the pavilion, which is not really worth it. The light is best in the morning and evening as the sun is opposite of the pavilion.

Nice to see when you're in the neighborhood, but not really worth the effort to go there to only visit the gardens, which consists of olive trees only. The small building costs money and is too expensive for what is there to see. This place is probably best to visit during sunrise or sunset.

Menara Gardens is one of historical monuments in Marrakech. It is not what you’d expect when hearing a garden. It is more of Olive trees and other kind of trees. It would be a good location for a picnic. But for sure a place where you can learn about the history of Marrakech. It is free of charge. I’d recommend wearing a hat during the day as it is so hot and there aren’t any shades except for when you get inside the small house (Menara). You can by water, Fizzy drinks and fresh orange Juice for about ~1.5€/$

Not really a must visit or worth doing in my opinion. There isn’t anything really to see. The people at the shops rip people off and charge silly prices. The guy near the pool charged me 20 MAD just for a glass of pomegranate juice

The graden open at 8 am. It is a major attraction for locals. I recommend visit garden in the morning, take a tour around the basin for nice photos. Entrance to the Pavillion is not free

A pretty typical garden space for Marrakech. There is a large paved walking area where you will find many vendors. The best part of this location is the sunrise view around the man-made pond area. The water is not clean, but the view and photo opportunities over it are very nice.

Huge and beautiful garden, full of palm trees, olive trees and cactus, this place is ideal for a relax walk. The magnitude of the lake is incredible! With a clear sky it´s also possible to have a view to the Atlas mountain.

The 4 stars are for the people 1000 years ago. The one and only missing star is for: No clean toilet. In so important place when we can connect Morocco - Marrakech - history - water - people - culture to our clients with no clean toilet = minus this important star. Morocco, home sweet home.

Very pleasant gardens with expansive groves. Picnic in the shade of a tree. Lots of people on Sundays including local buskers. Definitely worth paying the entrance fee to the pavilion - it's not big but take time to appreciate the architecture and views over the lake.

Menara Gardens is a historic place where you can go back in time and see the archetictural of old moroccan gardens. It is also a quite place and calm and a good place to bring kids.
