A very lovely museum right in the heart of Marrakech. It only cost 50 MAD to get in and there's a lot to see. It's a road arranged in two levels where you can learn the history and the techniques about how perfume is made in Morocco. At the lower level there's also a workshop where you can make your own fragrances. It can get quite expensive but if you get the eau de toilette it's only 240 MAD and it's honestly worth it!

Great museum! Small and interesting. Staff was really nice and explained a lot in the section were you could try many if the concentrated scents as well as some Moroccan made perfumes as well (some were really nice — great souvenir or treat to yourself in my opinion). As an overall “museum experience” I enjoyed it much more than the other museums like the Marrakech museum for example. It’s not as huge as let’s say the world museum of perfume in Grasse, France, but if interested in perfumes definitely worth a visit.

A must visit in Marrakesh! Housed in an architectural building, it’s a great experience with natural fragrances. Perfume lovers can get closer to the raw sensory feelings from those and even create an individual perfume with them! At the other side, it is tricky to navigate to the exact location and find a safe parking.

Wonderful experience learning about the history of perfum in Morocco. The highlight is being able to create your own perfum/cologne. The hostess was wonderful in explaining the process and was super patient as I tried to explain the sent I was going for.

Small and hidden place but with lovely smell of the perfumes. Is very nice to see how the perfume process is made, also you have the opportunity for 400 DM to create your own perfume, but the perfume it self needs to be pay separately. But if your around and find this place give it a try.

Seriously if you visited nowhere else in Marrakesh this living museum of oils and essences will immerse you so thoroughly in the sensory magic of Morocco, the desert and the North West of Africa that you will come away knowing the essence of the place. Its rarely the case I say that you will never forget a visit, but I say it for the museum of perfume.

Not a perfume fan, I mean of course I buy it to smell nice but not going to a museum to smell different perfume scent 😂so my Asian friends went inside I got there late tho, so there was not need sir ding 50 MAD for that, plus they didn’t really enjoy it the advised I don’t pay to come inside. So while waiting for them, the receptionist allowed me to go inside to meet them without paying🥺❤️that’s why I am giving a 4star cos that was really nice. But my friends were done so I only took pictures and left. If you are a perfume fan, exaggeration on HUGE FAN, I recommend this place.

A pretty disappointing experience after reading all the nice reviews. We couldnt make our own perfume and we werent told at the entrance that today it isnt possible. Museum is small and nice but we couldnt do the main reason we went there. When we asked why we werent told, the answer was "because we didnt ask" which is an unprofessional answer. Also the person that does the mixing doesnt work on mondays. Today is a sunday but the person wasnt there anyway. So avoid going there on Mondays if you are interested in making your own scent (which also costs around 70 euros if you want to buy if afterwards)

The perfume museum was a pleasant place to visit. It was quiet when we went in the late afternoon and we had the full attention of the perfume specialist who created three different scents for us. She was very informative and allowed us to make our initial ingredient choices and then took the ones that would work best together. The perfumes she created were reasonably priced an something we can enjoy to remind us of our trip to Marrakesh for a long time to come.

Stay away!! Im shocked to see the abundance of positive feedback for this establishment. We had scheduled a reservation for the perfume making class at 3:00 PM, but upon arrival, we weren’t given any instructions or communication. After a 45-minute wait, there was still no sign of anyone coming to help us. While the lady at the reception tried her best to accommodate us, the individual in charge exhibited outright rudeness and displayed no willingness to assist. Regrettably, our anticipated perfume-making experience never materialized, and we found ourselves duped into paying an admission fee for an experience we never received, all we wanted was to engage in the perfume-making process.

A wonderful museum with lots of interesting facts and examples to smell. Although this museum isn't too big the rooms are constructed very well and provide historical information about Morocco. Would recommend 😃😃

I love parfumes, so the visit here was a must. Even if I saw negative reviews. After all o understanding perfumes is like learning to appreciate a painting, and this is a nice place to start understanding. Only pity, first floor is mainly devited to morocco essences. To enjoy it most, take your time to read as much information panels as you can on this floor. Thiis will create the right understanding for the best experience of this nuseum: in the garden there is a room where with a very competent employee you can smell literally tenths of essences and learn to appreciate how much making perfumes is a true art. No doubt I found here an enchanting version of the two essence I love most: vetiver and cedre. Of course a bought one little bottle made in front of me. This cost me a pricey 240dh, but the essence is superb and after all this is a price to compare with european perfume boutiques.

Fantastic space and very informative in 3 languages. It’s peaceful and has many picture perfect spots. The perfume shop in the end you can make your own perfume with an amazing lady, she helped me by making a perfume for my brother - totally amazing experience. 10/10 would recommend 🙏🏼🌟

Great place to visit! We spent around 1 hour there plus went for coffee nearby and came back for creation of our own perfume extra 30 mins. It's all around Morocco main scents used for local parfume production and the whole process explained in detail. We enjoyed very much. You get to smell local main scents, there is around 50 of them and can create your own parfume if wish. Definitely worth visiting! :)

Pretty small, self-guided museum experience that took about 30 minutes to complete. There were about a dozen scents to smell throughout. Learned a little about the production of essential oils and their history but little else.

A beautiful little museum run by the lovely Amina. Small and perfectly formed, it is a tranquil oasis away from the hustle and bustle, and totally off the tourist trail. Over two levels in a converted Riad, the exhibition takes you through the history of perfume in Morocco and the Middle East. My only regret is that I didn't book the private perfume making session. One of my favourite experiences in Marrakech. 50DH entry, worth every penny. Thank you, Amina.

Wonderful experience for perfume lovers - we were not aware that it is possible to do a workshop thus we only visited and in our opinion it was still worth it for people that are interested in this topic. Recommended if you are in the city.

Interesting display and education of the scent and perfume world off the beaten path, hidden gem! Definitely take the time to create your own scent if able, largest/purest size is under $85 USD as of 03/23! Took about an hour and a half tho. CASH only, note! Walk to Bacha Coffee afterwards for a fantastic Cafe experience (buy the "Cafe only" ticket at entrance)!

🎉 Wow! This museum is amazing! 🤩 It may be small, but it's packed with interesting exhibits. 😍 The staff are incredibly kind and knowledgeable, especially in the section where you can try out different scents and Moroccan-made perfumes. 💐 Some of them smelled really nice, and I think they would make a great souvenir or treat for yourself. 🌸 Overall, I enjoyed this museum much more than other museums I've been to, like the Marrakech museum. 🏛️

What a fantastic experience. I'm so pleased with my personalized perfume. Madame Amina is a true artist/chemist. She creates the space for you to be the creator of your scent then she helps you perfect it. Highly recommend this if you are a connoisseur of fragrance.

Cute little museum in a beautiful Riad. It was interesting and well presented. Highly was being able to smell a lot of different base smells such as musk, argan, green tea, and so on.

Not really worth the 50 dirham except if you are lucky enough to get attention from the owner to explain the process/scents. We got none so we were in and out in 40 minutes.

Not a perfume enthusiast, but I still loved the place. Explanations on everything related to perfumes, argan oil, prickly pear extracts, and hammams. If you're also looking for good quality perfume, definitely worth buying something from here.

Really nice small museum which will challenge ur senses. I really loved the explanations of the host and I had the possibility to smell lots of scents. In the end, I left from the museum with a safran perfumed argan oil that I adore!

Great place to learn about the essential perfume and oils used in Morocco and also used by many other big brands. Not a busy place, small but welcoming and definitely worth a visit when you're in Marrakech.

Not really a museum, more of a glorified shop, with a couple of rooms in order to quality as a museum.

  • 5/5 Monika M. 1 year ago on Google
It's a small museum but very pleasant place to be in. Based in a typical Moroccan house, it's layed out on 2 floors with middle square an open space with garden to rest in. On first floor there are rooms with descriptions a scents and a chandelier look a like which has the fragrance in it , in whst seem to be an essence form. I smelled saffron and tonka bean in it's purest form and it was a treat for sences! On the ground floor there is room in which you can take time to smell many different fragrances available and create your own perfume. The lady was very friendly and encouraged to.take time to smell different fragrances which was very encouraging, however I lacked time. Highly recommended for those who have 'nose'.

Super cute and beautiful little museum tucked away from the busy streets. Something very different to the typical places we tend to visit - most definitely worth the time and money 😁

Great experience Amina was Fabolous it brought a tear to my eye to experience such a thing. I would suggest this as a experience in Marrakesh to make something unique for yourself and no other. No one will have your scent and it can’t be shipped or reproduced except by you. Lifetime treasured memory

Small Museum, has a lot of charme. I loved the experience. I created my own parfum there. Payment with card is possible. If you want your own parfum I recommend comming early in the day, so you can really take your time in peace. It is quit popular.
