This museum has some of the famous gowns on display, some artwork as well, but I was most fascinated by the desert gardens on this huge estate. The colors are vivid and the fountains look surreal. The collection of plants is amazing as you stroll through the gravel pathways. There is a cafe to enjoy the courtyard as well. A must see attraction in Marrakech.

A 5 star museum but I gave 4 stars because we had to wait 15 minutes under unbearable noon sun (which felt like an hour) in the entrance queue although we bought our tickets online. You can spend 3-4 hours in two museums and the garden. It's a bit pricey (45£ per person for the bundle) but it's a once in a lifetime experience so it's worth it.

One of the most inspiring place I ever visited. The museum exhibition is great, but you need to understand the real show is within the architecture of the building and the beauty of the space. There is something magical about the calm and serenity you have in the museum. Make sure you enjoy the coffee after or before your visit, they have good cocktail and snacks, perfect to relax before a walk to the centre of town. For a better experience we booked our tickets online.

It may be awesome if you’re deeply into fashion but that’s not me. Pro tip: The upside here is you can purchase combination tickets to this museum plus the YSL gardens. This allows you to bypass the extremely long ticket purchase like at the gardens. But you still have to wait in the gardens entry line.

What a special place! I cannot recommend this enough. If you have any interest in design or fashion this is the place to be. I felt so inspired. We stopped at the cafe and had a lovely coffee and it wasn’t too expensive. The gift shop is very well stocked and I wanted to buy everything. The collection itself was breathtaking, however you aren’t allowed to take pictures which only adds to the wonder. Definitely pop this at the top of your list of you’re visiting Marrakesh!

The Museum itself is very small, be warned in advance. There's around 3 individual rooms of garments. It's lit to give you a sense of the design and style. Within the room, there's no photos allowed and it's occupied by several staff. Overall, the museum as a solo trip isn't too bad, I did the tour in less than 15 minutes. There's also no water allowed inside the venue. Situated within is a gift shop and also a cinema

A great building! In love with the architecture. The brick in the building is so photogenic. The sketches/ garments were beautiful too- so good for fashion design as well. The store had post cards and books. There is a restaurant as well. Remember that you have to buy tickets in advance! Also: no water bottles allowed but you leave them in the front and come back and pick them up.

Very nice building and architecture which symbolises a triquot textile. It’s a bit small but nicely done. The bar is also nicely done with a view on the building and some greenery. They should offer some snacks though, there are only drinks available. You can buy tickets online which is recommended. Note that the museum opens at 10am (not 9am as stated here in google).

Incredible gardens that were appreciated by the whole family. The gardens are a must visit when travelling in marrakesh. We booked a private city tour with a tour guide and he said you must arrive early, 9am to beat the queues and the crowds. Don't bother with the museum either, visit a berber village with a guide to get the best experiences. I booked all these through Viator.

Everyone basically comes for the big YSL entrance photo which is stunning but the “influencer types” who do 99 poses and take up all the time from people who want a regale photo is bit ridiculous and with all the staff outside standing around they should have someone to monitor / put a time limit on this or have private booking for photo shots seriously there ended up being a lineup. Museum was short and sweet .

A wonderful place to spend a couple of hours enjoying the designs, drawings, sketches and many dresses on show within this beautiful, albeit quite small, museum. The café / restaurant is excellent as are the spectacular gardens that adjoin the Yves Saint Laurent museum.

An upscale tourist trap. You pay more than U$ 10, for ONE room that has a dozen mannequins with Morocan clothes.and a cafe that sells everything three times more expensive. And it's forbidden to take photos, to prevent the fraud from becoming public.

Overall, a very underwhelming and incredibly boring experience. The collection itself is very small and the museum consists of a hallway with some pieces by the designer, a small room with sketches, and an auditorium with a short film. The small terrace is quite nice but all in all, a very unexciting place.

Went with a few friends, bought the ticket for the garden, Berber museum and the YSL museum. The queue to get the ticket at Majorelle was long but after that it was easy to move through the rest. You can choose to view 1 of 3 if you want. It was an amazing and fun experience. Spent about 2 hours in all which was still a quick one and really insightful.

I loved the museum and the garden , exposition is gorgeous, inspiring to live the life in a beautiful way. It worth it if you love beautiful things and art, unfortunately it’s forbidden to take pictures in the museum, but I’ll keep them in my mind

Very nice & interesting museum. Worth visiting and reading its history. It has a cafe and a souvenir store too. You can also walk next door to visit Jardin Majorelle.

Only online tickets so please buy before u get there. Lovely staff who let us in even with wrong day ticket by of course showing them air and train tickets. The museum was too small could have covered a lot. Also the store had only few things to buy- could have better selection. 5 min movie was a good end. Good experience overall.

For fashion enthusiasts, a visit to the YSL museum is a must, thanks to its captivating displays. However, if fashion isn't your forte, I wouldn't strongly recommend it. The museum boasts beautiful architecture that adds to the overall experience. Once inside, you'll have the chance to watch a compelling video showcasing YSL's iconic catwalks through different eras. Additionally, the museum houses an extensive collection of sketches and original designs, providing a glimpse into the evolution of fashion over time. As someone with limited knowledge of fashion, I found the experience enjoyable, but it didn't leave a lasting impression that would prompt a return visit.

A must visit if your are ever visiting Merakkech and it’s a place which is well kept calm and serene. If you are a fashion enthusiast never miss to visit the place.Beautiful garden and variety of cactus can be seen. It was created by the French Orientalist artist Jacques Majorelle over almost forty years, starting in 1923, and features a Cubist villa designed by the French architect, Paul Sinoir in the 1930s. The property was the residence of the artist and his wife from 1923 until their divorce in the 1950s. In the 1980s, the property was purchased by the fashion designers, Yves Saint-Laurent and Pierre Bergé who worked to restore it. Today, the garden and villa complex is open to the public. The villa houses the Berber Museum and has recently opened the Yves Saint Laurent Museum. Enjoy your trip !!!

When I heard there was an Yves Saint Laurent museum in Marrakech I didn't feel the need to go see it, not having a particular interest in fashion. Having said this, I did go in the - because it was so close to Jardin Majorelle - and I was positively surprised. It's a very nice museum I'd say, even for those who, like me, are not fans of haute couture.

This place is unreal! It’s so boujie and every picture you take here comes out phenomenal. The museum was really fascinating and we loved to see all the art work and exhibitions displayed inside the museum. Loved it here and if you’re ever in Marrakesh, please do visit! We booked tickets online in advance for the YSL Museum and we also booked tickets for Jardin Majorelle too which cost roughly £22 per person altogether, (280 dirhams pp)

The museum architecture is beautiful especially entrance. YSL’s display is nice but not amazing. Very quick to see. The gardens are the impressive part (at least for me)

We visited the museum along with the gardens. Over all it is small and you don’t really need much time at either one of those places. A bit too expensive for what it is. Good to get a taste of them, but nothing extraordinary. Favorite part was the short video about YSL history. People get crazy with taking pictures at the gardens, so I recommend going early in the day to enjoy the park.

This is an absolutely beautiful museum in Marrakech, which I recommend you visit. There are different sights and scenes to behold. The parts where they are clothes designed for different occasions across different timelines, a cafe, bookshop and souvenir shop, mini cinema and many more. I would advice you get your tickets in advance and with a student ID you can get discounts *wink wink*. Watch my full visit to Marrakech on my YouTube channel “ Georgina Okakoso”.

This is an amazing place to be in admissions or via online ticket booking system. When we went there, it was so nice but it was so crowded and I couldn’t enjoy much. There are people all around. It’s very hard to take decent photos. Overall experience is good.

  • 5/5 Bruno D. 4 months ago on Google
If you enjoy fashion, this is definitely a must go! With a very beautiful design, the museum shows original sketches and outfits that YSL made through the years. Make sure you don’t leave without watching the video that tells his story.

  • 3/5 Jogenesis B. 9 months ago on Google
I was expecting a bit more from the museum. I think you can skip it and only visit the gardens unless you are a fan of YSL or very into fashion. They play a film with some background which was nice and it was also cool to see some sketches but I feel like they could have more in there.

Got my ticket online, not waited. If you are student you may have %50 off, if you show your student Id. (Normal ticket is a bit overpriced and not really worth it in my opinion) My ticket included Jardin Majorelle and Berber Museum. Not much to see in barber museum really small. Garden was interesting, YSL Museum also can be visited while in Marakesh for aesthetic. Not recommend to visit between 14-17.00 as it gets super hot.

Ziel erreicht!

  • 4/5 Anna S. 6 months ago on Google
Even though I just saw (by the looks of other reviews and their pics) that I didn't even had the chance to see everything cause apparently the door opposite of the short-movie cinema was closed and not open for exposure (for no explanation), I really enjoyed the museum and all the sketches from YSL. The one and only room with dresses I saw was huge though and it was interesting to see the differences of the dresses from when he was in France and then Morocco! Short-movie was pretty interesting too and I had a good and long talk with one of the very nice security employees about YSL's work, the dresses, their culture and their land. I would recommend to buy a combination ticket for the 2 museums and the garden - don't forget that only online is available and also better for your planing!

Not worth your time! Some trees, some bamboo and a coy pond. Foreigners pay the most, of course yet we only got access to the gardens. Find something else to do unless you're just a fan of the brand and want to spend money at the shop they have on property, of course.

  • 5/5 Marko O. 2 years ago on Google
    Nice place!

  • 5/5 Anna M. 7 months ago on Google
The museum is a bit smaller than one might expect, but the exhibition is amazing! We also enjoyed the temporary "Serpent" exhibition of aboriginal art. They have a huge collection of gowns by YSL (and dozens sketches), which are breathtaking! The museum's bookstore is also great.

  • 3/5 John J O. 2 years ago on Google
I’d say this museum is really more for fashion fans, and even for them it has very little of YSL’s pieces, as it’s more about showing the influence of his Moroccan friend. But maybe that was a temporary exhibition? I found the Jardin Majorelle next door, and it’s berber museum, also done by YSL, more interesting.

Nice museum although limited in content. Their cocktails are also not so good, beautiful but waterish

  • 4/5 Nevi B. 11 months ago on Google
It's a pretty good museum, very well put together, and the gift shop is very cute indeed. Staff are very friendly and there are multiple places to take memorable photos. I would say - I didn't agree with the no water bottles situation at the door, I didn't see how bottled water will cause an issue, even though there are clothing items displayed. Some of the most memorable fabric or painting museums in London do not have the same strict policies. Also, there are no photos to be taken in quite a lot of the museum areas - it's not something that people might want to replicate, but just as a memorable thing. Despite all this, I would go back again for the cute gift shop items and cards and the fact that staff are kind helps a lot. It's a clean space too with a nice sitting area 🙏🏼 I would recommend buying a ticket prior otherwise there's a bit of a wait sometimes. Beautiful architecture and student ticket availability which was great 👌🏼

An extra ordinary experience with different layers! Not only feeling like being a part of a great landscape but also learning about the history of one of the leading fashion brands, a genius designer and a love story. Cafe outside of the museum offers a generous sunbath and delicious foods. Souvenir store has diverse options.

  • 5/5 Dondré 1 year ago on Google
A beautiful garden. The blues contrasted with the greens is just beautiful. I recommend going early in the morning to catch the beautiful sun rays shining through parts of the garden as the sun rises. The garden isn't very big but it's beautiful. There is a YSL store in the back and a place where you can buy tea.

  • 5/5 Dorota Z. 1 year ago on Google
Best place we saw in Marrakech so far. Gret organizing, cool exposition, better than Paris one I would say. Also the gift shop. Jardin are just stunning! 3 cute coffee spots inside. We enjoyed a lot!

We went to the Yves Saint Laurent museum on a Friday afternoon in November. There was no line to get the tickets. We didn't buy any tickets in advance. I assume it's pretty crowded in summer so during that time it would be good to get tickets in advance. The museum itself is not that big but nice to walk around and read about Yves Saint Laurent and admire the dresses that are on display. There is also a small movie theater where you can watch sort of a documentary about him. Nice to watch. Overall I can recommend visiting the museum if you are interested in fashion or Yves Saint Laurent ;)

  • 5/5 1 Y. 1 year ago on Google
Respected fashion designer YSL. I was inspired by the new museum. I am honoured to be able to pray at his grave to tell him of his past achievements and his good work. I recommend this museum to everyone.

  • 5/5 Inese E. 1 year ago on Google
An absolutely stunning museum about Fashion Designer Yves Saint Laurent, his life and art. Very educational, made in great style and definitely worth seeing! Highly recommend to get a combo ticket and view the famous Jardin Majorelle gardens too. Undoubtedly the most beautiful places in Marrakesh!

  • 5/5 Stephen G. 2 years ago on Google
The museum & exhibitions are a stunning tribute to this legendary designer. I came not knowing what to expect, more familiar with the YSL trademark more than the man himself. I was overwhelmed by the displays, the history & complexity of his work. Highly recommend

  • 4/5 Jason C. 1 year ago on Google
Very well designed and presented museum and tribute to Yves Saint Laurent, with several different exhibition rooms and a significantly sized cinema showcasing some of the designer's work over the years.

  • 5/5 Carolien P. 1 year ago on Google
As I lover of architecture and fashion, the YSL-museum was on my bucketlist for quite some time. It was definitely worth visiting! Loved the brick patterns, gold accents and curved walls. The exhibition is small, but still interesting. I would reccomend viewing the documentery about Saint Laurent in the auditorium.
