We stayed here as part of a larger tour of Morocco with Marrakech being the first city we stopped in. The hotel is located a bit more on the outskirts of Marrakech so it does take about 30-40 min drive to get to the heart of the old city. The hotel is very nice with a great lobby that has interesting artwork and smells wonderful. The hotel is spread out in smaller guest rooms throughout the property which takes about 5 min or so to walk from the lobby. They have wonderful porters who will help drive you and your luggage to the room. Our room had a King Size bed with a small table and two seats. The room included a mini refrigerator and safe along with multiple bottles of free water throughout our stay. We were in the ground floor and had a small concrete patio with two chairs and a table which were perfect to sit and enjoy the great landscaping and listen to the birds. The room itself is not large so with two suitcases and smaller bags it can feel a bit cramped but we made it work. We enjoyed the international breakfast each day that had a wide variety of meats, cheeses, fruit, egg station, breads, yogurt and much more. We did not have time to enjoy the pool but both looked very clean and clear. We did get to enjoy an evening massage which I would recommend while you are there. The room overlooks the water and is very pretty at night with the lights of the hotel. The service staff is very helpful and friendly, always willing to help. Overall I would recommend the hotel if you are looking for quiet, resort feel just outside of Marrakech.

This is absolutely not a 5 star property, by far the worst Barceló I've ever stayed in and during covid pretty much a bait and switch where amenities listed open on their website are closed without any real replacement for them. Details below. Let me start with the fact I'm a big fan of Barceló hotels, been to quite a few and stay 20+ night per year in them so I'll try to offer a balanced review so you can make up your mind about whether you want to come here. The positives: the room upgrade was appreciated at check in, the check in staff seems to try their best to make every guest's stay enjoyable. The grounds are well manicured and pools are gorgeous. The wifi speed was really fast in the room and across the grounds. The shuttle driver was courteous, on time and safe. However, there are quite a few negatives which are unacceptable at a so-called 5 star level: - the bed is rock hard and impossible to get comfortable on. The pool loungers are more comfortable to give you an idea... - the cleaning staff missed so many items in the room every day including basics like removing trash, vacuuming dust piles or adding toiletteries that it makes you wonder how clean anything is - restaurants are closed without being listed as such on the app or website. So don't rely on this to make your stay enjoyable. For instance, the Moroccan restaurant was closed the entire time but the mediocrely expensive Asian one was open. - everything is 3 times the price of outside for vastly inferior quality so factor that in if you're doing a bed and breakfast plan. Think of it as 13€ club sandwich where you can get a 10€ rooftop authentic 2 course meal on a rooftop central Marrakech. The price isn't the issue, it's about the quality and the available offering. - the fitness room is a joke. Only two dumbbells are available, so I hope you enjoy lifting 3kg or 5kg otherwise you're SOL. - the food quality is much inferior to any barceló I've been to, including ones in Morocco. Limited breakfast selection, sushi without wasabi (and the "chef" not knowing what that is), noodles that are basically instant noodles, coffee that tastes like dishwater and no cappuccino or Batista coffee available. Maybe that sounds trivial, but this is supposed to be a 5 star and barceló is renowned for its food.

An incredible resort. This place blew me away. I don’t normally like resorts as I don’t find the experience to be very authentic to the country they’re in, but I have only good things to say about Barcelo Palmeraie. The grounds are absolutely stunning and the staff are AMAZING. Every person I interacted with was incredibly kind and attentive - from the front desk to the staff in the restaurant. It is truly the staff that make this hotel as remarkable as it is. Food was great, rooms were lovely, beds were comfy, couldn’t possibly ask more from a hotel. Would 1000% recommend!

Rooms were great. Was here on a work offsite so I think not bad for this kind of trip, couldn’t recommend staying here for a vacation. Pool is basic, food just average, not much variety. Nice enough but just that not much more to say

Excellent 5* hotel in a large very well maintained park setting in the upscale outskirts of Marrakesh. The hotel provides a free shuttle service to the downtown main attractions throughout the day and offers a series of activities on premises. There are 2 ample and clean pools with comfortable chairs and lounge couches and large umbrellas: a family pool and an adults only. We very much enjoyed both. We stayed in a spacious spotless deluxe suite with comfortable bedding, high quality towels and in room Nespresso machine. The recommendable all inclusive services are listed on the Barceló hotel web page. The food and beverages served in the hotel are of the highest quality. The staff is welcoming and friendly. Amine (reception), Abdel (golf cart driver) and Rashida (restaurant) among other team members went the extra mile to make our stay memorable.

I love this hotel so much and I would love to highly recommend to you all with the all inclusive offer! We were there 2 times already. First time when it was 2018 before the pandemic hits, back then the hotel was runs by Pullman team : the foods and staff was good , we had a wonderful time with all inclusive offer and we were always thinking about this place and would love to go back. So this year after the pandemic (almost ends hopefully)we make it happens again, we went back to this place for celebrating our birthday on October and the hotel has changed the name to Barcelo: I’m not really sure if they have changed the team or not but I have to say this team is even more BETTER if I could compare to my first time experience: THIS TIME OUR EXPERIENCE IS THE BEST! the staff was lovely and friendly with warm welcome, everywhere we go in the hotel we will see them with smileys face and always willing to assist us with great service, the foods is phenomenal! We still dreaming about those foods every single days after this holiday 🥲 (for meat lover this place is heaven! me and my friends we used to hate lamb but this place had changes our mind! And also the Moroccan donuts from breakfast time is so so good! Omg! This was one of the reason why we cane back again for the second time and many more I believe ) the staff in the canteen team they’re all very good and helpful and friendly (every time I ask for one piece of meat they wanted me to have more and more lol) they provided us with the great service as always indeed! I would love to say I Love them so much! For their service. The bar team and pool team was good with friendly service and providing us a lot of drinks and great snacks! (Sandwiches/pizza/crepes are so yummy) The room was clean and the cleaning team was very lovely, they are very polite and do their job very well and quick (after we had breakfast room already done) Facilities of the hotel was excellent : apart from the basic facilities this hotel has smart TV which I didn’t expect that at the beginning , it makes our life even better since we cannot speak their language so we can enjoy our TV program. I know I have wrote so much on this review but this is what I really want to share to everyone who interested in this place that I highly recommended! but the most importantly I would like to pass this message to make a complement to all staff team of this hotel that you are doing the great job and deserve this good review from me. I hope you will keep doing this great job and I hope to see you all soon again for the third time or many more. Well done!

The hotel is lovely in a quiet location in Marrakesh, breakfast was nice with a selected of food both international and local food. The egg,pancake/crepe station made it better. Being summer and hot ,the AC in the room worked very well .The bathroom is abit dated but overall the staff were lovely and attentive.I spent just 2 nights and didn't really use the other amenities.

Very good hotel. Exceptional service. Amazing breakfast. Only a bit far from centre but free shuttle service hourly provided by hotel. You can exchange your currency in central as way better rate, close to 2 mad difference. Over all it is 5*****

Highly recommended hotel for your stay in Marrakech. 20 minutes out of the centre with a free shuttle bus service. The all inclusive was a bit confusing at first but everything we asked reception we had an immediate and helpful response. The staff are all amazing. We arranged a private tour to Ouzoud waterfalls with Rachid Excursions through reception and it was excellent. Reception advised us on how to get to the markets. The hotel caters for events as well as tourists so it could go from really quiet to very busy in an instant, but we enjoyed the vibe this gave and service didn't change however busy they were. Thank you to all the wonderful staff. The earthquake was on our last night and the hotel rallied to clean rooms, serve breakfast and get everything back to normal extremely quickly and professionally.

Me and my wife spent 5 days at the hotel. We enjoyed our stay, the buffet had a good variety of food and the staff was helpful in every way. There is a free shuttle if you want to visit the city. I would recommend the all inclusive package as it adds to the experience (free drinks, cocktails and snacks)

I enjoyed my 7 day stay there. I had a room with breakfast includes. Room was simple and clean, mini fridge, good shower, A/C. Breakfast had good options for every taste. I loved their flat breads made fresh on the spot. I had dinner once in the buffet restaurant and was great with a lot of tasty options including bbq, tagline and paella. I also had dinner once in the a la carts Mezze restaurant, I enjoyed it too. The swimming pools were big and with good seating options. Staff was friendly and helpful. Some evenings they had live guitar music, very nice and talented performers. Overall very good stay, I’m glad I went. It is a bit outside the city, you need a car to go anywhere (shuttle to the Center available from the hotel).

Plus: - beautiful ground - free bus transportation to Marrakech center from morning to noon Minus: - cocky managers and fake friendliness of staff - they do not speak English well, not the standard for a 5* hotel - watch out for your credit card bookings - there paying device does not work in the main restaurant, therefore they forced (!) us to swipe our card twice without showing us proof that the first time failed. They made us feel very uncomfortable when discussing this during our stay and kept us awake past 10pm via phone. We ended up paying twice for the same meal after we left the hotel and have proof by our bank - room outage (no water and electricity) for one day - they apologized with one free meal - no open activities or program by the hotel (January 2023) - not like other five star hotels - We will not come again

I could not recommend enough - the staff are amazingly friendly and attentive, and go above and beyond. The food is 10/10 and the rooms are super spacious and relaxing. Excellent facilities on site with instant access to the centre.

Stayed in this hotel for 6 nights. First 2 nights were somewhat decent, once the weekend hit & the hotel experienced slightly additional traffic, it all went downhill. I'll start with the positives - comfortable bed & good AC. Negatives - food is quite average. Staff is totally unreliable. They pop into the room regardless of the 'Do Not Disturb' sign. Room service picks up on the 5th try. The hotel restaurants do not pick up at all. And the final straw was when we arranged for a taxi back to the hotel after a wedding we attended that was 10 min away from the hotel. Driver never arrived. Calling the hotel proved to be useless as they eventually stopped picking up. After waiting for 2 hours, we basically hitched a ride with the staff leaving from the wedding. We got back to the hotel & shared our terrible experience with the reception. Turns out the driver went to an incorrect address & just returned back to the hotel with 0 communication. We were redirected to speak to the manager & settled on a resolution. The next morning while checking out, it was as if the whole resolution conversation never happened. They refused to remove the charges we agreed on. Overall I wouldn't recommend this hotel. They need a whole service revamp & proper customer service course.

The hotel was great its what I expected from Barcelo, but the location was not ideal for our trip as it was very far from the center or the trains. The rooms are far from the lobby, staff was super friendly and willing to take you to your room in the golf cart.

Amazing time with Yousef and Kalid in Barcelo Palmeraie! Such wonderful hosts and we felt at home in their company. We did yoga, aqua aerobics and dancing! Sara was wonderful and gave us so much attention! Sara knew our order every night with our drinks! We look to returning! Thank you everyone!

Stayed here for a short girls' trip to Marrakesh. The hotel is located on the outskirts of town, which means you can get away from the husle and bustle of the city. Hotel offers an hourly shuttle into city, which was very helpful with getting in and out of the city. Rooms are okay, food onsite is just okay. Buffet style food with little variety, after the first few nights we really needed something different to eat. Staff are nice and friendly. They were all willing to go out of their way to help when required. For check in and check out, they have a buggie to help with dropping off and picking the luggage from the rooms. Team who run the buggies' service are very nice and friendly. Always willing to help There is an infirmary and shop onsite, visited the infirmary when I got a small cut on my finger. Got a cute plaster There are 2 swimming pools, a gym and kids club onsite All in all, it was a lovely place. 😍 We had a lovely break and would recommend the Barcelo Palmeria

Stayed all inclusive at the hotel. When we arrived turns out it’s not including some drinks but that wasn’t advertised before we arrived. Staff are excellent, very friendly and helpful. Nice hotel but it’s used as a conference hotel which means the atmosphere around the hotel during the day is very quiet, we were the only ones at the pool. The location is about 20 minutes from Medina (old city) where restaurants, Souk, history, bars, atmosphere and real Marrakesh are found. The food is Bufet style. My wife had food poisoning for two of the three days. The food is left to keep warm for too long. I had food poisoning the day of my departure. Two of our friends had it the day they left too. Overall, whilst the staff are very good and it would have been great for a very quiet break if we hadn’t been so unwell. I wouldn’t return to this hotel and if you want to see real Marrakech I would not recommend it.

The hotel is stunning, peaceful, and staff is amazing. Only downside is you have to walk to your room as its separate from reception area but it is not the end of the world. Location is distant from main areas so have to wait a bit to get a taxi. The staff is so helpful, especially Asma she is so sweet!! We really enjoyed our stay. Would visit again.

We have been there in the kids club where the birthday was organised. Wonderful place with wonderful team. The garden open air area with some farm animals, small carting and huge space for the kids to run and have fun. The food was tasty and in enormous quantity. We have spent an amazing afternoon there . Thank you Adil and team . If you are looking to organise your kid’s birthday- it is a place !!!

This hotel has good helpful multilingual staff, who have really helped us out in every request. The rooms were clean and tidied every afternoon. They have a good breakfast buffet. My only criticism is that the architecture and landscaping is amazing, but the interior doesnt match very well with the architecture. Also it is quite far from the city centre.

We spent this week at Barcelo Palmeraie, it was outstanding, the hotel is really nice, the family rooms are very clean. We took all inclusive, the food was good, the service was really outstanding especially from Atika who was always nice. The General Manager Khalid is a very nice person who is making sure that everything is perfect and visitors are happy. I highly recommend this hotel for families to spend an enjoyable holidays. I can’t wait to go back again to Barcelo Palmeraie.

Excellent stay!! Very clean rooms, beds were comfy and hotel had lots of amenities on-site. Will visit again! hotel staff definitely focuses on the personal touches and it shows. From my arrival in the loyalty line, to attentive bell hops to a concierge (Abd Elah) that secured dinner reservations - it was all wonderful. Views are great. I would to thank all of the team in this hotel for their hospitality and friendship. The front disk manager (Rachid) was great person, Hayat who checked me in was outstanding and Aisha the housekeeper made me feel like home. Abdlakreem room service and Fatiha are great. Thanks again for being the best.

Barcelo Palmeraie is a place where heaven and relaxation meet together to create wonderful holidays. The hotel is fantastic and quite big, we appreciated the « adult only » area with the pool and the numbers of activities available, I would definitely recommend the All Inclusive to have the best experience. The people working at the hotel are great and always there to help, there is a free shuttle service to go in town which is quite flexible. The rooms are great and we always slept well in a Barcelo. If you are looking to visit Marrakech, you must stay at Barcelo !

Check in was a big let down. They will NOT let you check in a minute before 2pm it seems. Otherwise great hotel. Great food and free shuttle is worth its weight in gold otherwise you’ll be paying around £20 each way

Pool Bar Service , isn't as described, staff ensure they have the order but failed to bring after asking 3/4 times , it seems as if its understaffed , too much work load on the very few staff there is there. The hotel itself is good just the bar needs heavy improvement.

I was ready to give this hotel a 5 star review but the last few days changed my mind drastically. And I rarely complain about anything, you can check my reviews of other businesses. It's just that for the price this is not the kind of experience you should be receiving. They closed the main restaurant for a few days and moved all meals to their garden section which for this time of year is not ideal if you have little kids. It's just too cold to eat outside and the indoors space fits only a couple of tables. Many food options become available only half hour after the restaurant opens simply because there is no staff at the stations. No cutlery at the tables. By the time you get some, your meal is cold. Understaffed so you can wait for a very long time to get a chance to order a beverage with your meal. Some food options (last night it was deserts) are not replaced when depleted so if you're in an hour after the opening time you won't have much choice. The garden "restaurant" is way too small to accommodate the number of guests they have so it gets really crowded and you have to squeeze between other people and the food on their plates. All this with children running around creates a recipe for a disaster. Only around 20% of staff speaks English. The good things were great WiFi, very nice premises, friendly staff, comfy beds, really good recommendation for an external company organising excursions.

Nice looking hotel but service really bad! Half the time, no towels in the room after room done. Food so-so as well. Swamped by Europeans (mostly French) in all-inclusive. Pool full at 9 A.m.

Too far from the city if you want to know Marrakech. They offer free shutles but for some weird reason, they refuse to take you if you have suitcases. Apart from that, the hotel is huge and fantastic, you can even have a very pleasant walk around it during the night.

  • 1/5 Andrew L. 2 years ago on Google
Despite this being my first day staying here, I am already very disappointed by the customer service at the hotel. Staff have been unwilling to serve us (literally ignore us) and it has been a challenge to even get information from the staff here. Food is very expensive, yet average with limited options and even eating in the main square of the city is cheaper than here. Despite the location being far from the city of Marrakech, we have been left with no option but to travel back and forth for our remaining days as we don't want to be in this hotel, which was supposed to be a relaxing few days at the end of our trip. Very disappointed and would never recommend this hotel in the future.

Our stay as a family was very great, despite not having a reservation before arrival. We are not disappointed. From Mr.Khalid( Director General ) a very accommodating gentleman, Mr. Ibrahim ( General Manager), and my new hospitality friend Ibrahim in the restaurant, who made the stay to be home away from home. Thanks to the entire staff. Kind regards John Adesanya and entire family members
