They all have connections with shops in the medina and will bring you there to buy things which are way overpriced. It happened to me. I took a tourguide for 3 hours (50 euro) and bought some herbs (112 euro) which you normaly pay 10 euro elsewhere. And if you complain about the price then they say these are spécial herbs. Even after my complaining they tried to bring me to other shops to buy other expensive things. So you don't need a tourguide, you can visit all medina on your own, it is save and protected by undercover police.
