These guys are the best. We started off buying 1 Betta fish just a few months ago and since then, they have inspired us to do so much more, we now have 5 Betta fish, 5 Tetras and 4 Bumblebees. ( And we've lost count of how many live shrimp we have) Their after service advice and help is never ending. We even had 1 fish that got sick.. but soon after, with some advice from the guys, she is completely recovered. They are pure artists when it come to aquascaping too.. and of course, now they've inspired us to do the same and we now love designing our own tanks. Even if you're just wanting your first fish, these are the guys to see. I know we'll continue to support this great local business for as long as possible and wouldn't want to go anywhere else for our aquariums. Great prices on all the supplies you need and always a great variety to chose from. It really is a one stop shop for aquariums.

If you are new to the hobby ( as I am ) or an experienced aquarists, you can’t go any further than Newtown Aquarium. Van and the team were very helpful with all their knowledge and expertise in helping me setup my first tank! Added to that the excellent Post-sales advice of how to run and maintain a healthy fish tank, you would be ill-advised not to stop in and say hello. Van and the team at Newtown aquarium were extremely knowledgeable when we were looking to buy our first tank. They have a section of the store where you can set up your own Aquascape and play around with the different rocks and driftwood to make it exactly how you like it. Van is excellent at what he does, and was able to help me design a tank that included an underwater waterfall/sandfall! The shop also stocks an impressive array of fish as well as aquascaping items, equipment etc. They can also fill up CO2 tanks if you’re using it for plants. Definitely the place to go if you need some advice/looking to jump into aquascaping your tank as well.

What a great aquarium shop! The coral and tropical set-up is amazing. Will definitely go back as we grow into the hobby. They also have a great collection of scaped aquariums on display - which really showcased what was possible.

Van is very professional. He advised us so many thing about the fish tank, plants and other equipments. He is very helpful and creative. He helps us for an aquascape as well.

These guys go above and beyond to make sure customers get what they need, not what they want. The guys helped me saved heaps and also gave good advice on do's and don'ts before starting on the aquarium hobby. On one occasion, having ordered some plants and live stock during covid, they took extra effort to make sure the items were delivered on the same day and all very well packaged too. Very sure they will go far in this industry. Need anything aquarium related? Newtown Aquarium is the place to go.

The customer service at Newtown Aquarium is above and beyond what I’ve experienced anywhere else in Sydney. Van and the team walked me through the process of setting up a brand new aquascape tank, answering all my questions and sharing their knowledge along the way. Really good selection of fish and other products. Priced well for the area, contains some unique fish breeds not found at others. I like this store for the fact it is a small aquarium with a couple of staff that enjoy being there. Not a huge range of fish, but can every so often, have some fish there that others don't have. Prices are similar to others. Does have some nice aquatic plants near the front entrance. Never felt I am ever ignored, no hard sell. Nice place and atmosphere for such a small shop. Recommended.
