RT Lodge is a wonderful restaurant and lodge. I've had dinner multiple times as well as stayed over a weekend. The food is delicious and I always find something new to enjoy. The staff is eager to help and friendly. We can't go wrong on a date night here.

We were looking for a location to host an 80th birthday party for our family and selected RT Lodge - it turned out to be better than we had hoped. We had a party of 20 and RT Lodge had everything set up for us in a private dining room upstairs. The food and wine were fantastic and we were well taken care of by Lesley and Charlie. Mark was easy to work with and responsive when planning the event. We also stayed at the lodge that night and the rooms are small, but cozy and clean with a lodge feel. Breakfast the next morning was great as well. RT Lodge feels like an escape but it's only minutes from Knoxville, which made it perfect for our family event. Thanks!!

Lovely property overall. The main buildings are very comfortable and feature multiple indoor/outdoor places to relax - we were lucky to have a beautiful day to explore the grounds on foot and on bike with one of their free to borrow bikes. The surrounding Maryville Woods and University campus are very nice places to explore. We also took advantage of the onsite bar and restaurant and have nothing but raves for the bartenders and the restaurant staff - food was delicious.

This was my second time dining at RT Lodge. The atmosphere and grounds are beautiful. The service is very good. Staff is very friendly. My only complaint is the portions of food are very skimpy considering how expensive it is and how average the food is. I would happily pay for a good meal if I felt I was getting my money’s worth.

This review is strictly based on their food menu , pricing and portions. Second time dining there , this time outside on their patio. Very scenic and good vibes and service. We ordered a pasta dish with one of their salads and split it between the two of us. It was nice that they served them both on separate plates but that’s where the pros end. Serving portions were extremely small and even combined, I’d equate between a child’s and senior portion. Food quality was decent but with a self imposed 20% gratuity, with tax , bill came to $54. We’ve had better at other Olive Garden and at half that price with almost double the portion size. Great place to grab a drink and atmosphere but expect to be hungry unless you add an app and desert, which you’ll be looking at approx $100 with tip. Same issues dining there a year ago and management really needs to look at the rethinking their portions for the price point they charge . Foothill Milling Co , Chop House and RiuthsChris are much better options for dining with bigger portions at same price point.

I first fell in love with the lodge while scouting locations for a wedding and it's become one of my favorite places since! It's comfortable. The staff is so welcoming and helpful. The property is beautiful and we love taking morning walks through the woods with the ever present local coffee they keep hot on throughout the day. The food is perfection every single time - I crave the fried chicken, especially the hot sauce! The new bar is delightful. Anytime we are able to head down to Tennessee or even if we are just passing through, we stop and stay a night at least. We just love it. It feels like home.

This quaint Lodge is nestled in the trees on the campus of Maryville College but far enough away from the campus within the trees that one would not have any idea it is nearby. The Lodge is very quiet and relaxing. I loved the seating areas by the outdoor fireplace and water feature out front and fire pit out back near another pond and water feature. The seating areas indoors also had fireplaces, comfortable couches, chairs and tables. All great places to enjoy a beverage with the spouse while reading or playing checkers or chess with the provided game boards. The bar downstairs was also a very relaxing environment. We stayed in a Standard King Room in one of the two accommodation lodges, this one by the name of The Wiley House. The room had a rustic feel and the bed was exceptionally comfortable. A nice feature is the water station and the coffee provided in each of the lodge buildings. The bathroom is a bit tight as well as the sink area which is only large enough for one person. One thing that did stick out was that the bathroom seemed very basic with the inset fiberglass tub/shower, plain walls, and ceiling. This is likely due to the fact that this lodge was once a corporate lodge/retreat for Ruby Tuesdays. I would imagine that bathroom upgrades/remodeling with tile would make a significant difference. Overall, the grounds, rooms, and other areas with very nice. Now for a review of the upstairs restaurant…. The breakfast buffet, included in the booking, was very good. The scrambled eggs were a little runny but that’s just a personal preference. It would be nice if an omelette station were available. The dinner is where this review becomes negative. While the service was fantastic as our waitress was very attentive, the food was far from what the standards of this kind of lodge should be. You will see other reviews complaining about portion size and that specific mention is right on. The portions are ridiculous in relation the the price. I got the Wagyu beef that had potatoes and grilled onionS. The capital S in onionS is for emphasis. The grilled onionS received was only one stalk of a green onion. ONE! Additionally, the Wagyu beef was mostly fat. It WAS NOT GOOD. The potatoes were tasty. My wife got the trout which was very good. She did order a side of broccolini which was forgotten by the kitchen. It came out towards the end of our meal. The broccolini was not good as it was mostly burned. 5 stars goes to the Smoked Trout Dip and Chip appetizer. My wife and I will be back because the Lodge is fantastically relaxing. We WILL NOT, however, go to the restaurant again for dinner. The restaurant gets anywhere from two, maybe three stars. The Lodge is 5 stars. This resulted in a 4 Star rating of this establishment.

We stayed here last night to celebrate our 5 year anniversary. The atmosphere and set up is reminiscent of a quaint European vacation with delicious dinner at the restaurant and respectable breakfast at the lodge the next morning. Roasting marshmallows around the fire pit surrounded by the incredible gardens and the sound of the waterfall behind us was a great nightcap and wonderful memory. The staff was nothing less than god sent! Within a couple of hours of arriving and on our way to the lodge for dinner I struck the poor fortune of rolling my ankle (thanks to my very cute but impractical shoes). The hostess swooped in with 5-star first aid and full accommodations for my clumsiness. My take away from our stay at RT is that this is a wonderful hidden gem that may have 3-star accommodations, but has a 5-star experience. This is your place if you’re looking for a quick getaway from Knoxville or a place to come and enjoy this part of the country. We plan to continue visiting for years to come.

Our daughter's wedding was held at your beautiful lodge on Saturday, August 26. It was the wedding of their dreams, and I can’t imagine how it could have been any more perfect. Every member of your staff went out of their way to make all of the events so special. They were all so gracious and courteous, and they even dressed up for the rehearsal dinner, welcome party, wedding ceremony, and reception. I want to especially thank their wedding planner, Ali Johnson, and her assistant Jillian. They helped our daughter and her fiance from start to finish with planning and decorating, recommending vendors, coordinating events, and selecting food and beverage choices. We live out of state & weren’t able to be present for the planning, but it’s clear they were in the best of hands to manage it all. Their professionalism and calm demeanor helped to quell any nervousness on our parts - they quietly and calmly directed us to when and where we needed to be. Ali graciously attended to my husband’s medical needs and arranged for the bar to prepare him a sandwich before the ceremony. All of the food was obviously prepared by chefs who are well qualified and trained. The choices were varied & interesting with a nice Southern touch, and the portions generous. The wedding cake, prepared by their chef, was scrumptious and absolutely beautiful! The lodge and grounds are truly a showplace, spotlessly clean and beautifully landscaped and maintained! Having sole access to the lodge for the wedding weekend was a luxurious way to spend time with family and friends, celebrating their marriage. It’s hard to find the words to express our appreciation for all that your staff did to make this wedding so special. It’s a weekend we’ll all remember lovingly, and the bride and groom will always cherish the memories of their beautiful wedding! Thank you for everything!

We met our son, DIL and 10-month-old daughter at the RT Lodge for two nights. The staff went out of their way to accommodate our granddaughter! We loved the outdoor patio dining and that breakfast!! The grounds are beautiful and we have great memories of walking the many trails with them!! We most definitely will be back!

I had my wedding at RT Lodge in October. I cannot begin to express how happy I am to have found RT Lodge. This is absolutely a perfect wedding venue for those who want the entire place for their wedding guests. We had the property for the weekend and designed a weekend experience for our guests so we could maximize our time to visit. From our first visit, to our tasting, to the wedding, it was a seamless, incredibly special place. Working with Alan, Ali, Trevor and Caitlyn during the planning process was incredible. Alan was incredibly responsive and helpful when booking rooms for all our guests. Ali and I emailed for over a year before the event and she always responded quickly and helped me with whatever questions I may have had. She took care of coordinating with my floral vendor, all the rentals, my photographer, and my HMU. She always kept a drink in our hands and made it so we could completely enjoy our wedding day without worrying about the details. Ali is absolutely the best wedding planner ever! THE FOOD! One of the main reasons we chose RT Lodge was because of the food. Trevor and his staff are magicians in the kitchen and we felt so special getting to design our wedding menus with him. RT Lodge was the perfect weekend getaway for all of our guests (none of which lived in TN). Everyone loved the walks in the woods, the staff, the bar, and of course the food. The venue was absolutely gorgeous in the fall and we had so many people ask us how we found this gem! I can't recommend this venue enough to future couples and hope they find it as special as we did.

Oh my word this lodge is AWESOME! My mom and I stayed here a night and loved the people that worked here and the people that were staying here. The food is exceptional... THAT BREAKFAST was the best. Every sauce, granola on yogurt, etc is all homemade with top quality ingredients. I highly recommend this place even to just enjoy the breakfast in the morning YUM!

These beautiful grounds are a sight to see. Celebrated my birthday at the restaurant on the premises. My starter was the pimento cheese. It's flavorful. Main entree was the butter milk fried chicken....so good. After dinner we walked the lush grounds. Beautiful paved walkways, coy pond and fire pit. Landscape is picture perfect. The staff was so welcoming. Lodging available and a beautiful wedding venue. I highly recommend

At least once in everyone’s life they should take the opportunity to experience the level of fine dining and comfort within the RT Lodge. I don’t even want to give away the secrets that help make this place so unique and special. I can’t resist saying how friendly and accommodating the great staff is, how incredibly clean the rooms are, and how immaculately decorated the RT Lodge is. Just come find out for yourself. Don’t forget to make dinner reservations and take the time to enjoy a world class breakfast. What an absolute gem. While we come from Columbus, Ohio we are already making plans to return as new regulars. Come find out for yourself!!!

This is such a unique place, stumbled upon it accidentally but will definitely book here again! Beautiful landscape and feels very welcoming and peaceful. Free breakfast the next morning included eggs and bacon and was set up like we were at a wedding :)

We went to an event in a large tent in the back of the Lodge. We used the lodge’s bathrooms and other facilities. It rained heavily. Over all it was well done.

We enjoyed the super cozy atmosphere of this place. RT Lodge is located in a woody area which offers some nice walking trails, but can easily be reached by car from Maryville. The interior has a sort of preppy-rustic vibe, which makes especially the fireplace in the main building and the many comfy chairs a wonderful place to relax on an autumn morning. The breakfast is beautiful and entirely homemade (although I personally would have loved some veggies such as tomatoes to go along with the eggs) and in the evening you may get a chance to prepare some smores by the firepit. I'd definitely stay here again.

RT Lodge is officially our new favorite place in Maryville! I can’t believe we didn’t find it until now! We were told the menu adjusts a little bit daily based on what fresh foods the restaurant is able to source and it didn’t disappoint today. To start, we shared a tomato salad with fresh, pickled and fried green tomatoes sprinkled with goat feta that was better than I imagined it could be. We also tried the smoked trout dip with freshly made gourmet potato chips and it was equally awesome. Then came the entree!!! Quite possibly the best Ribeye I’ve ever had with a very light mushroom glaze, perfectly baked yellow potato’s and delicately mint flavored vinaigrette spritzed fresh greens on the side. Easily one of my favorite meals in memory and we can’t wait to come back and try some of the other options. The restaurant itself was really beautiful and worth a visit just to admire the building and grounds and the staff all seemed genuinely proud to discuss the building’s heritage. Our server, Alandré (hope I spelled it correctly) was absolutely top shelf and made a really great meal into a fine dining experience that we can’t wait to experience again. We pleasantly enjoyed all the staff’s very positive energy and how well they expressed their happiness to serve our table. Really great people, amazing flavors and a beautiful restaurant!

Haha began hiding me in corners of their restaraunt (literally ever other guest in the other room), even though I was overtipping generously. I suppose I'm not their 'preferred' clientel. However I dont think this was the attitude of all the staff, bartender was a sweetheart and so was all of the waiting staff. All in all I would recommend the venue and restaraunt from both a lodging and food perspective, but strong vibes tell me only if you 'fit' such a 'traditional' place.

I worked as a wedding vendor at RT Lodge this summer as a Live Wedding Painter. I was extremely impressed with team at RT Lodge. I have worked at many venues and RT Lodge stands out for multiple reasons. The top reason is Ali Johnson. She is the wedding planner on site, and she treated me with care, respect, and kindness while at the same time executing a flawless wedding. Leadership creates the culture, and all of her assistants were helpful and kind as well. I absolutely loved painting at RT Lodge for this wedding and will absolutely look forward to coming back!

We've stayed and dined at RT Lodge multiple times. It's a perfect place to go out for dinner but spend most of your evening there. Great drink selections. Beautiful patio and grounds that you can freely take a stroll. Plenty of food options that you can have something new regularly. Christen, our waittess, provided possibly the best service we've ever had at a restaurant. She was extemporaneous knowledgeable about every menu item and helped us make perfect choices. She was proud to work at the Lodge and it was refreshing to have someone so professional and enjoy their job so much.

We just needed an overnight stay on a drive from Georgia to Pennsylvania and had stayed at other nearby chain hotels in the past. Wanting something better, I came across RT Lodge in my search and thought this could be perfect and hoped it wouldn’t disappoint in person. It absolutely did not. The place is secluded and beautiful. The staff was beyond friendly and welcoming. The room was comfortable and quiet. And the bar and restaurant were cozy and delicious. We want to come back just for a weekend pleasure trip.

Many people are giving wonderful review of the dinners, and have special venues, at RT Lodge. To be fair, we didn’t have a chance to do this and perhaps if we had, my rating would be 4 stars. We were just regular people, on a regular trip and wanted to stay in a B&B (our usual preference - so we’ve stayed at many) so here we go…First, the grounds are absolutely beautiful and the fire made, in the fire pit, each evening, with everything needed to make S’mores is such a great touch. We really enjoyed partaking in this while rocking in the rocking chairs and listening to the beautiful water falls. The staff is friendly and answered our questions with great detail on the various things we wanted to do in the area, directions, etc…also, the rooms were very clean and well stocked. Lastly, the lobby/library room was so cozy. We sat by the fireplace and chilled for an evening. As for feedback…the breakfast was meh. Eggs, fruit, mixed muesli, spiced muffins and bread. Balcony room was clean but dank and don’t even get me going on the onesie, faded, overused bathrobes. I get the lodge vibe and the branding/theming that goes with this but the furniture, amenities (eg bathrobe) and bedding could use a more up to date lodge feel. Also, at this price point, I was hoping for a more unique breakfast experience (vs buffet style low option). The last b&b we stayed at, a little lower than this price point, had a house made breakfast quiche (with fruit and homemade apple breakfast tart) or homemade blueberry pancakes (like super thick)and eggs. Anyway, it was good but again at this price point, I would’ve hoped for a little more for a 4-5 star rating.
