Peaceful spot to spend the evening out.

When you visit Sri Lanka, this is the beach which located a town very near by. That is Matara town. Amazing view of beach specially in evenings. Also there is a small Island called "Paravi Duwa" you can visit there crossing a beautiful small bridge. Also can safely bath here.

A very good place to be free. There is a large space to walk and enjoy, and a children's park too. A great place to take photos, hang out with friends and relax, but not on sunny days. But, on weekends and holidays, it is a very busy beach with huge crowds.

One of the best beaches in srilanka..... but there isn't any boating or surfing kind of stuff though it is almost busy every evening..... It is a perfect place to relax in the evening....and most of the University students come in the evening to have a chill...I just love the VIBE........

A nice place to have a break for a tiresome day. Can sit facing the beach and relax. Some street food for a quick snack.

Beautiful destination. Can have a long walk in the beach. Plenty of car parking available. Usually weekends are very busy with huge crowds while weekdays are with less crowd. Street food trucks available on weekends. Good vibe in the beach. Not safe to have a swim or bath in the matara beach/sea.

Matara beach extending from beyond the bus stand to the hillock 'Brown's hill' for more than a kilometer is a beautiful place where the towns people & the visitors gather. With the sandy beach. the lawn & food courts its an ideal place for recreation & is quite busy on weekends.

Beach that is both clean and expansive. Not overrun with hawkers and other types of peddlers who are a nuisance. If you keep a keen eye out, you might be able to spot a turtle now and then. The early, before nine in the morning, is the most peaceful and calm time to wade in, so that's when you should do it if you can.

Very dirty and abandoned beach, just like the accommodations that are on the beach. Landscape is a very beautiful beach, but it is falling apart due to neglect and lack of maintenance. Its sand is fine and there are waves. The water does not look clean.

Nice place to spend a evening... Safe and calm place to spend a evening with family and friends Parking spaces are free and availability is high. Close to KFC, Cargills food city, P&S and lot of restaurants. There is a children park too which is not maintained well.

Good place to spend much time in holidays in Matara.Matara Main Bus stand is located near to the beach .Paravi Duwa temple is a nearby place.Many resturants are available along the beach road.Sunset is a beautiful scenary.Children park also available.
