My Second visit to the Beach. Place developed over the years. Car park for RS 200. Tube rental for RS 200 Look for Dileep for Guided Snorkeling 🀿 for RS 1000 he will show the turtle 🐒 and allows you to swim with them. Changing rooms available around.

You may have wondered, why I have given 3 stars to this beautiful beach. Yes it's a beautiful beach. You can bathe there. It has a protective reef. But we heard few people died after swimming. There is a navy post I believe they have some life guards. But life guard signs are not displayed properly. So there is a danger here. When I review a place I always consider the number of activities around the area. But I couldn't find any other than sea activities. There are shops to buy swimming equipment. They have washrooms also. Good parking too.

These days, if you come to Polhena Beach in the morning, you can see turtle ranches. During this time, turtles lay their eggs.

This beach is a great place🏝. Anyone can have fun, watch turtles and take photos. The white beach and the blue sea are very attractive. You can also see the sunsetπŸŒ…. It is also very beautiful. Sitting in the shade of a tree on the beach and gazing at the sea for while,I feel at ease . I hope you enjoy the experience as much as I do. There is one important point to say. I urge you not to leave your polythene on the beach. It is the duty and responsibility of all of us to protect this beautiful coastline.

It is one of the famous beach ⛱️ located at southern province Sri Lanka. Because of the coral reaf there is no tide there. So it safe place for sea 🌊 bathing. Beautiful sea view. You can buy tyre and enjoy in the sea if you're unable to swim at the Polhena beach.

Very popular among the locals. Clean waters and the beach. Snorkeling gear and tubes can be rented. Shallow waters and tides softened up due to coral reef - making it a sea pool for an fun-filled sea bath. The best time to visit is in the morning. No good restaurants or changing places around. Looks chaotic and unorganized during local holidays. Yet, the bathing and snorkeling experience make it worthwhile to visit the place. Local and tourism authorities must make the place tidy and make it tourist friendly.

Ideal place for sea bath early morning till about 10.30am. Not recommended after as strong water current and rough seas returns. Strong current to the left may drag you to deep waters even without being noticed. Risk of drowning too.... be careful but enjoy.

Clean and spacious beach. Not overcrowded with hawkers and other nuisance peddlers. Could see the occasional turtle if you keep a sharp lookout. the best time to wade in would be morning before 10 AM as the peace and tranquility is much more enjoyable than during peak hours...only thing is the water may be too cold -relatively speaking from a tropical perspective - snorkeling is recommended and the beach offers shallow swim areas specially fit for kids - take care of the drift as there is a bit of a drift towards the left as you observe facing the Indian ocean which may be more pronounced due to the natural and artificial curvature made by the granite protection that has been laid to prevent erosion either side of the Polhena beach. Altogether a wonderful enjoyable experience - much recommended for Matara visitors.

Amazing sea view. Best place to go for a swim. Safe place. There are some venders who provide with tubes for swimming Not so deep. There are a lot of restaurants nearby with reasonable prices. About 2km from the Matara town. You would have to provide transportation from the main road.

Famous beach among locals for getting a bath. Shallow and calm waters for some distance from the beach. Handful of spots with clean water to bath after a swim. Tubes and snooker gear available for rent.

Beach with a lot of people, the accommodations in the area seem out of season, as do the restaurants and the beach in general. The water was not clean. Lots of stray dogs, and unsympathetic neighbors about it.

The first time I saw this beach I was about to jump in for a swim. Because this place is an ideal place for a swimmer. It is a shallow beach where we could go on further inside into the water and stand without drowning. No words to express my feelings about a swim in that beach. Try and see.. Best place.

Situated in the southern tip of Sri Lanka, the beach is famous for swimming and sunbathing. It’s a 2.5–3-hour drive from the airport through the southern expressway. The beach is just 45 km to the east of Galle city and just 5 km from Matara city

This beach is a good public beach area near Matara city. Lot of people visit this place with their families. Really good for kids. Those who love swimming can enjoy a lot here. There was no vehicle park but they charged around 150LKR to park my vehicle nearby. Better visit in the evening or the morning before sun comes up.

My favourite beach to visit here in Sri Lanka. Maybe it's the trees in the surrounding area? Or it's the people. Whatever it is, I keep going back. Highly recommended place if you're a foreigner looking to visit Sri Lanka. Better visit during the season as it gets more lively. Or if you're looking for some privacy, now is the perfect time to visit. (June 2022 - there's barely anyone given the current situation)
