Nice Beach with natural bathing pond. Must be VERY CAREFUL not to cross the reef as the waves are so strong and grasp you away with currents. Deadly place with many deaths per year. Danger red flag is there for your safety

Perfect place to have a sea bath and relax. Can surf here but bit dangerous due to strong tides. Safe swimming till stone fence. Clean sea without garbage. Can do a bit of snorkeling too here. Good restaurants near by for lunch and dinner.

Madiha Beach is situated in the Matara district, approximately 4 km away from Matara city. It is one of the hottest surf destinations in the area. Madiha Beach also boasts of a great turtle watching point apart from its waves, ideal for surfing.

A place where the whole family can have fun. There are several bathing spots nearby. Be more careful in getting food from nearby small restaurants. Because they sell food at exorbitant prices to local tourists. Some days the sea waves are rough and on those days be careful.

This is another beautiful place in southern province. It very close to the polhena beach. This place is very photogenic and good enough to play beach games, swimming, bathing, and spend your leisure time very effectively ..but this area is not good for surfing. Because there is a reef.

Just about 2Km away from Matara town and about 500m away from polhena beach. Good place to spend an evening or take a sea bath. Tides are low due to a coral barear and the water is not deep up to the coral reef. So no life risk if you keep your limits. And aslo there are plenty of hotels and restaurant arount the area.

Not much crowded Beautiful & famous beach but the extremely peaceful ambience. Various Restaurants, Cabanas, Beach clubs are nearby. Perfect place to spend your time when you are Matara. Beach parties events are very popular among foreigners. Also. Villagers are very kind and helpful.

A good place to relax your mind. There are multiple restaurants and cafes around the area. Need to drive carefully when reach to beach side since the road is not big enough.

Depending on the day and the water current - sometimes is very dirty and you can smell the sewage because the locals just discharge everything in the sea without any treatment, it is an overall problem in Sri Lanka. However this beach doesn’t have garbage like other beaches in the area, it is so sad to see so much litter and plastic everywhere..

Superb place and beautiful view safe to swim in this area and you can watch beautiful coral reef and fish.

THE BEST SURF SPOT IN SRILANKA

From Mirissa travel approximately 8.8 km along the Matara Road up to Madiha, Matara to reach the Madiha Beach situated in Beach Road, Madiha, Matara. This is very beautiful place. Nice nature.

This is a beach not directly accessible from the main road(A2) but have to take a turn. Not a very big stretch. Was not overly crowded. Foreigners were walking around and a surfing point was also there. The famous “doctor’s house” restaurant is just by the beach. Couldn’t see a perfect sunset because of the clouds. Beach was clean.
