Went on the tour to the Nation Park Geres yesterday and had an amazing time! Our guide Miguel was a hero, really nice and friendly and funny, and always making sure everyone was safe (and felt safe) while doing some of the trickier hiking parts. We swam in 2 beautiful waterfall pools which I would never have found, saw lots of beautiful places, ate a nice lunch and all while letting Miguel handle the crazy narrow and twisty mountain roads. The vibe on the tour was really nice and it was worth every penny. At the end Miguel gave some tips on where to watch the sunset and even dropped me off at the top of a hill so I didn't have to climb up it myself! I imagine the other tours are also good, but I can wholeheartedly recommend the national park tour.

Absolutely brilliant day tour. Conveniently got picked up near the apartment we were staying at. Carlos got the group safely to the start of the trail to begin the walk. Seemed surreal as we walked above the clouds. The stairs were managable with options to stop for breath as often as was needed.. it was all worth it for the views throughout the incline and of course the view at the top. The suspension bridge was a feat im glad i did! The stairs and walkways down were a little tricky as there had been rain so the wood was really slidy (i witnessed a couple falls). There were goats!!! I loved them and they were super friendly. It was super enjoyable- didnt feel like it took long (maybe 3 hours in total). Would recommend it for anyone who wants a wee challenge.

Our lunch at the Fojo de Lobo was delicious and abundant and we hd lots of laughs. If you are looking for something to do in Porto, and if you like pineapple this company is a must. On this ride for the Arouca 516 and Paiva Road, we were 3 tourists for 4 guides... And what guides ! André, Pedro and Goncalvo were amazing. It was like I was with old time friends, chilling, discovering and joking. Really good vibe. The restaurant is a major hit too. Not a tourist trap. We ate really well. So rare in a guided tour. If you want to live a beautiful journey, take a dip with Detours, you will live the full experience.

Really enjoyed our trip to Geres National Park. Our guide was very friendly, knowledgeable and made sure we were all comfortable and safe. Helped those who had a hard time getting down the cliffs. Amazing view, nice transportation, great lunch, moderate hiking. The trip was a bit too long - 10 hours, so we’re exhausted but happy

Had a great time with Rui! He was very knowledgeable of the region and made the hike enjoyable. Learned a lot about the local flora and the community. He was like a friend going on a walk with you for the afternoon. The restaurant afterwards was a great way to end the day with a fantastic meal and plenty of green wine! Unfortunately Rui had to translate into 3 different languages due to the other parties booking error, but he did a great job making sure everyone was informed

We had a fantastic day doing the Geres National Park day tour from Porto with our group and our guide Carlos. We were picked up directly from our hotel and had a nice drive up to the park. Carlos was an excellent guide, super friendly and showed us around many of the gorgeous sites, from hikes to beautiful swimming pools, to great viewpoints, and through a very nice village in the park. With picnic included, this is a really enjoyable and convenient day trip for anyone stopping through Porto that would like a day to experience some of Portugal's nature as well. Highly recommend!

Andre was a great host. He shared his knowledge of the park, bridges, battles, and village life. He made sure we were comfortable despite the rain. And he found clean toilets for us along the way The pace was relaxed. There was lots of time for pictures. We enjoyed incredible waterfalls and views, a delicious lunch and some laughs along the way. I would highly recommend this tour. Geres park is magical

We took the Penada Geres National Park tour which was a full day and a lot of fun. We went on a challenging hike up the road KS with spectacular views, a great local restaurant lunch, culminating with a swim at the falls. A VERY refreshing swim for sure!

We really had an incredible day! We were lucky, we were alone with the guide. He told us all about life in the national park. We learned a lot about the people, animals and plants that live there. We saw horses, cows, sheep, goats, fish and even a snake. He showed us amazing places. He also took pictures of us and forwarded them to us. We always felt safe and he knew exactly what we wanted to see and do. It was the best day of our holiday! Thank you so much!

A great way to explore the nature of porto in one day. Rui was a perfect host, and brought us to some amazing (much needed) swimming spots. Everything was well organised and the small group size made it a very pleasurable experience.

Gonçalo took us on an incredible trip along the Paiva river, including a walk along the suspension bridge (with beautiful views)! The trip was so well organised, we never felt rushed and we were able to go for a dip in the river - so bring your swimwear! Options were adapted for the different ages in our group along the way so that everyone had a good time. The meal was so delicious and we had soo much - best steak we have ever eaten. The staff were friendly and very attentive. Try the pineapple pudding! Gonçalo has also kindly sent us other recommendations for the rest of our trip in Porto which has been so helpful. What a great guy :)

Our experience was nothing short of incredible. Rui and Diogo met us promptly at our hotel and we had the good luck of having two other couples join us who shared the enthusiasm as our guide. I have a fear of heights and wasn’t planning on doing the suspension bridge but after we stopped for coffee and delicious pastries in acrouco and just generally supportive atmosphere from the guests and Rui i was excited! Rui was very assuring and also instructive. We enjoyed the walk down the pathways after we were able to swim in the Paiva after our walk. The level of information and freedom allowed was very unique. He was so informative and just allowed us to do our own thing. I personally believe Rui was able to cure me of my fear of heights by informing me of the beauty all around me. We had an incredible lunch that was very mindfully curated of my dietary restrictions with great conversations as well. I feel truly grateful for this life changing experience and the professionalism, comfort and care that Rui offered us. Very conscientious and intelligent and all around amazing guide! Wonderful experience

I went on this trip with my husband and adult son on June 27. Our guide was Marco. This trip picks you up at your hotel and that was already a plus. We were 6 people total and went by minivan to Arouca were the trip started. We crossed the suspension bridge first and walked the long walkways after. Everything was excellent: the guide, Marco who explained how to follow the path and backtracked to make sure everyone was ok ( there is no way to get lost, no fears!), the park was beautiful and the river beach mid way where you can get in the water (you will be dry again by the end of the trip). Then we went to a local restaurant and the food was delicious! A great day! Taking into account that you will be walking around 6 miles. We are in our 60’s and my son in 30 and we made it, in summer, so it is possible!

The experience was very good. We were concerned about being able to find the bridge location on our own. So we booked through Detours. Ruiz the guide was very conscientious and friendly. Excellent English speaking. We really enjoyed the experience and our swim half way through. Food after was delicious and a nice shared memory with the group. 10/10 for value.

Rui was a fantastic tour guide who was very knowledgeable. The Arouca tour will not disappoint. A lot of walking, so wear comfortable walking shoes. Crossing the suspension bridge was a hit. It was not as scary as we had psyched ourselves to think it was.

Ana was the best. She was so easy-going, knowledgeable, funny, and kind. We had an amazing day! The park was beautiful, lunch was perfect, and all of the drives in between were picturesque as well.

Very professional service. We did the 516 Arouca Suspension Bridge and Paiva Walkway tour. Our tour guides Andre and Gonzalo were fantastic, engaging and very knowledgeable. Accommodation pick up and drop off were extremely convenient. We stopped along the way for food in a beautiful restaurant called Zé Mota and were served a delicious 3 course meal and wine which was included in the price. Highly recommended 👌

Ana was a wonderful tour guide and we had an amazing time at Geres National Park! It was a lovely day of exploring, swimming and sightseeing with good company. Ana provided brief historical anecdotes of the different spots we stopped, as well as great tips throughout the day. She was very attentive and friendly - would definitely recommend this tour!

We went on a 4x4 tour of the Douro Valley. Our guide Pedro was wonderful! The views were breathtaking! We toured the Quinta Seara d’Ordens winery. The port especially was amazing! Our picnic lunch was delicious with a view that was majestic. Thanks again Pedro for giving us an amazing adventure!

What a fantastic tour! Pedro was amazing very knowledgeable and enhanced the tour by catching up with us on the Pavia Walkways and proving us with information about rocks, plants, flowers and the river. Theresa was his sidekick for the day and wow was she lovely, fun and teaching us words in Portuguese and Brazilian Portuguese . The restaurant we went to was outstanding with such a variety of food. Was no problem accommodating the vegetarian in the group. Kept our glasses filled with Green wine. Between the restaurant staff and our tour guide Pedro we wanted for nothing. Highly recommend these guys!

Excellent tour with our fabulous guide Petito! Comfortable transport to site, nice morning tea stop without pressure to buy (which we’ve experienced on other tours), very clear instructions for our walk. The walkways make it very accessible for a range of ages and abilities and whilst the steps are many, lots of people were stopping for ‘photo’ breaks so this tour is manageable for a range of fitness levels. The bridge is an engineering masterpiece, the views spectacular and it’s well managed in terms of limited people on it at any time so you can take your time, get photos etc. Petito’s smiling face was waiting at the end of the walk, we had time to enjoy the refreshing water if we chose before heading off to our delicious lunch at local restaurant. The food was great and plentiful, the local green wine a pleasant surprise and it was nice to be able to chat with our fellow travellers. All up, a fabulous day out from Porto. Bon aPetito 😜
