This is the worst thing we saw in Porto. It's really hard to get there so we took a taxi because my 7 years old daughter is in love with astronomy. It was first time she went from an exhibition crying. Lady in ticket sale told us that entrance is free but if we want to see the movie then it would cost 12 euro per person. I agreed because of the daughter. The lady told me that the movie is only at 4pm. We were there at 12am. The exhibition took about 5 minutes. This place should not be named planetarium. If I could give zero stars then I would do it. It's a scam on turist. ANSWER TO THE REPLY: The lady in the ticket sale told us that the entrance is 12 euro. She DID NOT say family ticket. It does not matter. I would pay 12 per person without hesitation if it were worth it. Your website is ONLY in portugese. When I visit an exhibition I want to see exhibition - not café. Sorry. Your blackhole simulator looks like a broken slot-machine. The models of the planet sizes were OK, but as visitor you expect more. I believe the planet movie is nice, but as english speaking visitor without any information from your site, the information that you have shows only at 16pm is a big disappointment. At least when you visit at 12 am. The walk from Casa Musica metro takes up to 30 minutes, with children maybe more. Well why can't readers of planetario reviews find any interesting photos made by visitors? Because there is nothing special to show.

It is a nice experience for small kids, if you watch the projection. It was a simple and nice story, my kids loved it. Ticket is not worth of the price without the projection. It could have some more models (rockets, capsules etc), some experiments (like the science museum in Lisbon) and more interactive exhibitions. An actual stargazing, once a month would be nice too.

    Average for a planetarium.

(Translated by Google) At the ticket office, Adriana Silva is a sweetheart and at the 4pm session, Elsa is a sweetheart. However, nothing is taken advantage of the giant space stripped of amusements and hollow of care. There is no staff, there are almost no activities and still everything is not functional, the space is dirty, the bar is closed, poorly esteemed and a huge disappointment. Response to your feedback: Poor response on your part and poor attempt at justification. The facilities are dirty, sad and the chairs in the planetarium are also unrepaired. Look at the reviews you've received for years and adjust accordingly - if you want to improve, of course! The "responsible" that walks around there doesn't know how to deal with people, is rude, grumpy and just needs to shoo people away to get out of there. As a representation of the Centro da Ciência Viva, the one in Faro gives you 10 to 0 and I prefer to see the stars from there in the telescope, on the terrace, than your poor quality videos.

(Translated by Google) The Planetarium of Porto – Centro Ciência Viva is a unit of the University of Porto, which began its regular activities on November 24, 1998. It results from Professor Teresa Lago's vision of bringing together in a single space a center for the creation of new scientific knowledge and a space for the dissemination and promotion of scientific culture. The dream took almost a decade and materialized after the creation of the Centro de Astrofísica da Universidade do Porto (CAUP) in 1989, a research center with international recognition, which became the largest national research unit in astrophysics and sciences. of space. CAUP was created with three pillars or lines of action: scientific research, training, dissemination and support for teaching. With the support of the Civil Government of Porto, CAUP was the first national institution to acquire a portable planetarium, starting in 1990 a program with schools and municipalities. Since then, more than 250,000 children, from the north to the south of the country and also on the islands, attended a session where they were presented, sometimes for the first time, with basic astronomy concepts, aimed at increasing their scientific literacy.

(Translated by Google) As a teacher, I have visited the planetarium over and over again during school season. Despite being a place with interesting activities, the staff and monitors were not particularly friendly and supportive. But this last time, on Monday I went to the ticket office and I am pleasantly surprised by the friendliness we were received by the young woman who is there. Very professional and charming with children. I will come back whenever opportunity arises !!

(Translated by Google) The experience was good, but the exhibition was very small or I couldn't find everything... For what is the planetarium itself and the animation was good and I liked it, I learned a lot of things, the only thing is that if, for example, you are a French tourist or English comes won't understand anything, there could at least be a system with headphones and several languages... This is a suggestion because in my case I came with my wife who is French and didn't understand. Ready or else my daughters loved it. Prontos senão as minhas filhas adoraram.

The price family is appealing. Not really suitable for a 3 year old child. Too long, not really engaging (the part about Shapes was fine, but not about constellations). The children are said to sit silently, which is not really possible at this age. My daughter was constantly asking when we were going to leave. Suppose that for more adult children that would be more engaging and interesting.

(Translated by Google) Lousy experience. I went with my children to the port planetarium because we love cultural experiences and they love everything about planets. Upon arriving at the site, we found an absurdly simple structure, to the point of thinking that it was just the entrance to the planetarium, that the structure would be inside. To my surprise, that was all that the planetarium had, besides the room where the film is shown, which by the way, very weak, bad sound and very old film quality, animation with 80's technology. Inside the cinema, there were so many children screaming, jumping and making a mess. It was impossible to hear or see anything. To the point of adults calling the employee's attention to take action, only then did she take action and stopped the film to talk to the children, as it was unbearable to stay there. My children wanted to leave because it was so bad. What was supposed to be a pleasant and cultural experience was frustrating for everyone. Worst of all, having to pay € 12 to get through this, money thrown away. Going to a planetarium to see playmobil toys is a joke. Unfortunate!

Barely can be called a museum. Only had a couple of banners with information and inflatable planets hanging from the ceiling. Nothing in English aside from an interactive board not available for visitors. A walk around the botanical garden is a much better way to spend the day than wasting your time there.
