Awesome surf session with the Best instructor Daniel ! He helped me Catch good waves and gave good tips with it , very nice patient and professionnal. The best way to have a good time while improving your technique is to go to fish surf school. Perfect Location easy to book and All the team is nice and welcoming. I highly recommend this school !

Great school with quality material and great instructors. We had Diogo, a man who says that surf is not a sport but a lifestyle. He was a great instructor for a first class and we can't recommend him enough. Great dude and great instructor.

We were group of 4 friends and bought a bundle of 3 lessons. Each lesson was with different instructor and in 2 days. Each instructor gave us some piece of the skills puzzle (balance, paddling, waves understanding). Our first two lessons we were in bigger groups and had only smaller waves which made it little harder for the guys typically weighting more but we were still improving. For our last lesson we were in group of 6 and had around 80 cm waves. We were then individually instructed what to improve which was very useful. In the end I can only recommend the three lessons but maybe in 3 days due to fatique. We really enjoyed the time and everyone got to ride a few waves so we got to feel what the sport is like and its certainly not our last time. The only thing that we missed was shower after dressing.

Not recommended! From the two guys that coached us, one was very friendly and was interested in teaching us to surf. But the other one (blond guy) was cold, mechanic and not engaged with us. The staff in general seems to have lost the passion for this business and sport, it seems that they just want to have many students and therefore more money. It would be nice to see the staff more helpful, passionate and dedicated to the students. Then you would be more successful!

My best surf lesson ever! We booked a surf lesson in a group and we got split up in two teams. The ones who never surfed before and the ones who surfed twice or several times. In the following are my positive impressions: - The surf are very friendly and motivated. - The value for money is super fair: 25€ included a surf board, wetsuit, warmup and 1 1/2 hour surfing in the sea (getting ready and carrying the surf boards to the sea are not part of the 1 1/2 hours!) - The coaches especially took care of the beginners and helped them to catch good waves and gave great assistance. They were very patient. - Although we were all very free and the advanced surfers could surf in the green waves as well. - Furthermore our coach paddled out to consistently watch out for good waves to catch them. - Our second surf lesson got cancelled. The surf coach refunded the money directly, which is also very uncomplicated reliable. All in all I can definitely recommend this surf school!

Was safe , reliable and very fun! Booked a lesson for 25€ , and they are more than worth it. Got Wetsuites, boards , warm up and Coaching. We were really 1,5 hours in water excluding the board cleaning and showering. The coaching were delivered on Advanced and beginner friendly leveled groups. It was no Problem to even catch green waves the Coaches took good care of everybody and were patient and friendly. Coaches spoak excellent understandable englisch. Once the swim got prohibited, our money got immediatley refunded via direct transaction. Feels very easy to communicate to the team and Things dont are unnecessary complicated.

It was the most exciting moment in this year for me and my kids 6 and 12 years old. Daniel is a positive person and very talented teacher ❤. We could surf 🏄‍♂️ after 10 minutes, his support and motivation were amazing. Highly recommend to rent a private lesson (where all was included: rent of equipment and teacher) with Daniel! We had a fantastic surf lesson with Fish surf school. Our group was a mix of age, and ability and our coach made sure we all had as many waves as we could handle. We would not hesitate to book with them again.

My friend and I had 3 lessons with Fish Surf School, we had Diogo for all 3 lessons. Super cool guy and a very good instructor. By day 3 I was able to ride green waves, Diogo helped me in the beginning with my stand up technique and was even helping me gain speed for waves. The equipment was great quality with thick wet suits so I was never cold in the water. Diogo was very knowledgeable and spoke great English, my friend and I learned a lot over the 3 days, from technique to reading wave sets. We had so much fun learning and socialising with Diogo. All the other staff were very friendly and offered great service. Would recommend on your next visit to Porto if you’re interested in learning to surf.

Highly recommend. Coaches were above and beyond! Very attentive to everyone and made classes absolutely fun. Will definitely come back :)

The surfing lesson was nice but we took private lesson and the instructor didn’t even ask our names. Also the communication with the school was not ideal. It’s obvious that the owner just cares about money.

A very nice surf school with awesome waves to play with. A special thanks to Daniel who was such a cheerful instructor and gave very helpful advice. He made the lesson extra fun and I was able to catch a couple waves myself because of his help. Great place and I hope to come here more often!

We had surf lessons for both my adult and tween kids this morning. The coaches at Fish Surf School were amazing. Very thorough, helpful and informative. Everyone got up on the board and they all had an amazing time. We highly recommend them.

I didn't have a chance to know if Nuno is a good coach because all the time he flirted with the girl who even wasn't in his group. The explanation of catching waves process was really poor. Don't recommend to anyone.

We had our first ever surf lesson with Daniel. As we have never surfed before we picked a private lesson for 2 person. Daniel was an amazing and funny teacher with positive vibes.

My wife and I just had a private lesson with Francisco. It was our first time ever trying surfing and it was amazing. Francisco is just as much a cool guy as he is a good instructor. We feared the water would be too cold but with the combi, you don't feel the cold at all. I can only recommend you try it !

Thanks for amazing experience. Really great place to start surfing. We had a privat lesson for 3 person. Also in the school is Ukrainian speaking teacher Ivan. Excellent week of surfing with Claudio, Joao and Diogo (plus all the other staff we interacted with). They were encouraging, observant, personable and a good laugh! My boys really enjoyed it too. Will definitely be going back to this part of Portugal, and Fish Surf School are a significant part of that decision.

This was my first surf lesson and I really enjoyed it! My trainer Claudio was very friendly, explained everything perfectly and helped me during the whole lesson.

In one month with 8 lessons and the amazing coaches of the school I was able to finally get up on the board, dream I'd been putting off for way too long! Best surf school in Matosinhos. Highly recommend, they are also involved in beach cleanups with different associations. Looking forward to going back, maybe for one of the weekend surf camps they organise in other locations across Portugal. Até já!

I had several lessons with Fish Surf school during Easter break and I would say the price is well worth it. I have accidentally hurt my hand and the owner kindly agreed to refund me the lessons I was not able to take. If you are a beginner, I would suggest you to take on the more private lessons to ensure the quality and safety. The recommended coaches are Daniel, Diogo and Ivan. Daniel is super encouraging and passionate in guiding you, Diogo has good teaching skills and he is very patient to correct your mistakes, Ivan is professional and helpful. They also have kids camp, you may be lucky enough to have those cuties around.

Highly recommend the school! The groups are small and all 4 instructors I had were really helpful and super friendly. Big focus on safety as well.

Had a surf lesson booked through Airbnb and must say - these guys are amazing. I was a bit of a rookie and didn’t have much surfing experience but their amazing, personalised tutoring and great energy had me standing on the board and catching the waves in no time. Amazing sense of humour, there was a group of 4 of us yet it felt so personal, the coaches give feedback on the spot so you can improve on the next wave you catch. Genuinely could not recommend enough.

My first surf experience was beautiful! I had a private class with Daniel (Dani), really nice and patience guy! With few advices I was able to stand on the board and try my first waves since the beginning. In exchange I taught him some Italian, I had a blast! I would love to do it once again. Really recommend for every level!

Wouldn’t go there again or recommend to learn surfing. The lessons were not that bad, but there was only little attention paid to advance skills if you already have experience in surfing. To learn surfing it’s helpful but to further knowledge, it is not helpful. However, the staff has been acting inappropriately towards a point where our group did not feel comfortable around the trainers. We have been there with friends and the surf teachers were acting really inappropriately towards my female friends.
