Beautiful place. We love to go there with our children. There is everything you need for both children and adults and a playground for children and a lake with a beautiful view for adults.

I found a trail at this park on AllTrails and it looked nice so we decided to check it out. The beginning of the trail was really nice. It goes through a wooded area and down to the river. Then the trail suddenly becomes a disc golf course. Now the disc golf course seemed really nice, but I wouldn't recommend hiking a disc golf course. You're just in the way if people are playing. There's a nice lake later in the course. Overall, I'd recommend it for disc golf or maybe just to hang out at, but I wouldn't recommend walking through the disc golf course like AllTrails recommends.

Great park just keep pets away from the water. My Dog spent a week in animal hospital after drinking from the pond. Leptospirosis!

A great local park. It's kept up fairly well and relatively clean. considering how much traffic that it gets, I'm not disappointed with it's upkeep and grateful for all of the work that's been done over the years. There are a few short trails but not long enough to call a hike or even good for a short jog, but nice for going on a quick nature walk with little ones.

A good place to be both Idle & Wild, meditate with the trees + birds, or play on fields, trails, and picnic too! 🥳

There were a lot of trees around the playground, so there was shade so it wasn't too hot. There weren't many benches, but I was grateful that there were a few. It seems like a good playground to bring the kids to in the summer.

The Scrapyard Disc Course in Charlotte has been my favorite course here so far. It reminds me of the Valley Springs Disc Golf Course in Durham. Great elevation changes. Some really technical, tight shots with some longer holes. Two water holes on 8 & 9 can be tricky, but really scenic. Awesome course!

Absolutely awesome park on a very hot humid day! Heavily shaded on the play ground and the walking trail. We didn't use them but the softball field was nice and neat and ready for play.....also the sitting area around the ball field was shaded also. Nice restroom facilities and lots o f playground equipment for kids to play on. Most of this stuff looks like it was recently installed here! There is disc golf here and the trails are clearly marked and visible. My 3 kids enjoyed the visit and the heat was barely noticeable at 1130 in the morning and almost 90 degrees! No dog park but pick up bags for people with pets.

I cannot give this Park a Bad Review in the Era of COVID-19. If the park were completely operational, then it would be a great place to explore, have picnics, throw frisbees, and play Pokemon GO. You also have spots that'll be great to host Birthday Parties and Enjoy the Rivers of the Park! The glory of this Park will be restored to its prime days once the pandemic is over.

Nice park for frisbee golf or walking. A small playground is located in the center and a small lake is just past the ballfield.

Great disc golf course, maintained, and consistently modified to keep things interesting and challenging. Best part, it's in the shade.

Smaller than some of the other parks but good disc golf and playground. I like walking the trails

Great walking trails when not overrun with Frisbee golf players. The parks department did a terrible job building the course right on top of some of our walking trails. They needed to be separate like at the other parks, not overlapping. The players are sometimes rude, loud, curse and smoke when families are there to enjoy nature. Most of the players are nice and reasonable but some make going to this park terrible....and I blame the county for not thinking about the walkers before building this right on top of our trails. Pros: lots of wildlife when loud players are not scaring them off! Today we saw a ring headed snake, picture below.

No dog park sadly but has a 18 hole disc golf course to make up for it. It wraps around the lake that is in the park. The parking lots are situated so that you could go to either the playground, baseball fields, lake, or start a round of disc golf pretty easy. ( I have even found it easy to start on the back 9 when I didn't have time for the whole thing.) Great place for kids this park. Even has a nice nature trail and grills for a holiday hang out.

Park is easy to find, sign is well marked and visible from the road. A few ball fields, a playground, and a nicely maintained disc golf course are what I found on sight. Was here for discgolf, and definitely was not disappointed. Love the course, and will be back

Plenty of walking trails, playgrounds, and a disc golf course. Well planned by Parks & Rec to have something for everyone in a relatively small area (at least for a park). Clean, always. Patrolled by Park rangers on weekends, which is comforting. Especially if you have little ones.

Scrapyard is a treat of a disc golf course. The water hazard is iconic and not too bad if you have faith in your arm. 10/10 would recommend.

  • 4/5 Vivek S. 1 year ago on Google
It's a great park. Has a great walking 🚶‍♂️ trail as well but they have put a Disc Golf course on it, so not ideal.

Good for a relaxing walk or bike ride. Plus they've got a pretty good disc golf course. Even if you do lose a disc in the water hazard there's a really nice guy that drags the pond each weekend and will return your disc if you've got a number on it! Can't beat that!

Ok, 3 stars because of your a parent this park leaves a lot to be desired for kids, I would have given a 2 but the rest of the park gets a 5. The sad part is that it was just redone to this "modern" park that lacks imagination. The pieces they took out were awesome compared to what they put in. They missed the mark completely on the redo. However, if your going to disc golf or hike it's a 5. Dog friendly environment. Lots of parking. Great trails, lake, creek it's a great way to reconnect to nature in a great location. Hidden gem for sure. Hopefully the city with consider these new style parks and remember kids play with boxes so it just needs to be fun not new.

Great park to go to, and to play disc golf, when it's really hot due to the abundance of shade. The feels like temperature was around 100 degrees, but it only felt like 80 or so in the park.

  • 2/5 Jeff E. 3 years ago on Google
Love the disc golf course, but when we got there, someone had the course "closed" because of a tournament. It's a PUBLIC park!!! Pretty sure that's not legal to do.
