First thing I want to say is that we had a great holiday here but there are two main things to consider. The front of the hotel is on a main road and if you get a room at the front you will be listening to the general traffic but worst of all the 'reggae' buses which sound their musical horns continually to alert potential customers. The second thing is that if you want a sunbed on the beach you have to carry it yourself down a steep ramp onto a very slim area of beach which disappears when the tide is in! You're also expected to to bring it back yourself whilst able bodied staff look on. Also there are NO SUN UMBRELLAS on the beach! We were happy with all other aspects of the hotel. If you choose the self catering option there is a small convenience store straight across the road, also a decent Chinese restaurant. The hotel food is good and reasonably priced. They have a happy hour from 12 til 1pm and 5 til 6pm when drinks are very cheap and popular!!

I absolutely love this hotel. Second year running staying here. Staff are outstanding, Amanda and the reception staff are amazing and made our stay. Everyone is so friendly and helpful, food is great at the reef bar. Facilities are great and the cleaners are second to none. Thanks to everyone for making our holiday the best it could be. Sad to be leaving but we will be back next year. The Murphys

We've stayed at Butterfly Beach twice now. It's not the most luxurious hotel in terms of decor, but that matters not when the staff are great, the rooms are large and clean, the bar and pool are good and it's right on a quiet beach with stunning views and an amazing relaxed atmosphere. You cannot get closer to the sea! The staff team are friendly, accommodating and helpful. (Ryan in particular was incredibly helpful in quickly resolving an issue with our room on check-in). The team were also very kind to leave a welcome back gift in our room as returning guests and for my partner's birthday which was very thoughtful and appreciated. It's close enough to walk to Oistins or The Gap (or catch one of the little buses), but then return to a beautiful, quieter location when you want to chill out. Highly recommended, we had a brilliant time just as good as the first. Thank you Butterfly Beach.

Lovely hotel in a beautiful location. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Ideally located for Oistins, and on the bus route to Bridgetown. Highly recommended it!

Really nice hotel with friendly (and relaxed) staff. The room we had was clean and as expected. However the sliding doors to french balcony (no balcony) aren't well sealed and the room looked out onto a busy road. So it was pretty noisy. I do suggest you request a room facing the sea or away from the road. It's a small hotel but the facilities are great. Reasonable food and drinks and a couple of happy hours per day (1-2 and 5-6). Something about the size and intimacy of the place seems to rub off on guests too - all friendly, chatty and interested in saying hello. Location is great if you want to stay on this coast. The big Sandals hotel is just a bit further up the road but it feels quite touristy there - with prices to match. The hotel has access to 2 lovely small and quiet beaches. Recommended but make sure you're away from the road.

I can see why people return year after year to stay here. Wonderful staff that treat you like family. Special shout-out to Debra in the gift shop, a wonderful person and the person you need to see to book tours and excursions on the island. There are lots of excellent restaurants, bars and shops in the near vicinity. Clean, safe and just had an excellent all-around stay.

Perfect Rooms. Large with large balcony and huge bed. Room also came with kitchen facilities and very clean. service at bar and breakfast was efficient and friendly, with some great staff. Breakfasts were fab with different local homemade hot choices everyday. Location perfect, straight onto beach . Easy access to Bridgetown, St Lawrence Gap and Oistins using Reggi Reggi Buses.

We stayed for 14 nights, had a superior pool view room. The room has all facilities, fridge, microwave, 4 hobs, cutlery, very well thought through, very comfortable beds, shower, soap, clean towels, air con, ceiling fan, a free safe, exceptionally clean, Wilma cleaned every day to a very high standard. The staff are super friendly, ALL of them, from front of house to breakfast staff, to the cleaners, VERY child friendly, an amazing experience. Would go back in a heartbeat. White sand beaches at each side of the hotel with easy access to each, at times we were the only people on the beaches. Breakfast was fab, meals are delicious, entertainment was entertaining. A fantastic hotel, thank you to everyone who put so much effort into ensuring your guests have the best experience Their hospitality is next to none!

Our stay was amazing. The hotel gives off a resort like feel for a very reasonable price. Staff are helpful and friendly. We were able to get our covid tests right on site the day before we left! I only wish we were able to book one of the ocean view rooms.

We stayed here for 7 nights from the 6th of July, I highly recommend this hotel as the facilities and atmosphere are great, the grounds and rooms were also clean and there was always a number of security workers patrolling the hotel area. There’s 2 pools which was nice as there was never any overcrowding, the food didn’t disappoint either! It was our first time in Barbados and we will be back ☺️ . It’s also safe to walk around during the day and we walked to the market a few times on our stay and Carlisle bay is also not far if you catch those little white vans that beep a lot 😅, they’re safe and they only charge 3.50 per person.

There’s no way this is a 3 star hotel. It’s a 5! The best hotel I’ve ever stayed at. Staff are so friendly and helpful making the trip so memorable. They have amazing chefs and drinks and daily entertainment. The views can’t be compared to the other hotels in the area. Walking past the sandals hotel made me glad I chose butterfly beach. With two pools and jacuzzis you will have no problem cooling off when it gets too hot. Definitely stay here you won’t regret it!

We have only been here a few days into our stay, but the value here is amazing. The staff is amazing. Feel very secure in staying here and Barbados, in general. The restaurant is nice, the beach is right there and the pools are great. If it weren't so far away for us, I know we would come back regularly. 6/5 stars.

We had our staycation at this hotel. This was the 1st time my family and I stayed there. We had an enjoyable time, however, we didn't like the fact that the entire suite wasn't A/C, only the bedrooms. But we enjoyed everything else and the staff was friendly.

We stayed in this hotel Butterfly beach hotel nearly a week. We had a lovely room with a sea view. Staff they where so friendly and welcoming. The receptionist Enrico he was very nice, and we told him that we going on a cruise for a week from, he asked us when is our flight we said our flight is in evening Enrico told us to come to the hotel and stay their, eat, drink, rest use their facilities. Which we did go to the hotel and used the facilities. Of course you have to pay for drinks and food, but you relax and use the facilities. If you want to book your excursions there is a sovereign shop in that hotel her name is Deborah she is lovely lady. We did our excursion with her.

Want to say a massive thank you to all the staff for going the extra mile to make my husband 70th so lovely yesterday. Special mention to Karen for looking after us so well.My husband has mobility issues and we were originally given a room with a bath. When we explained to the manageress that he has problems, she moved us to a lovely room with a walk in shower and fabulous views of the sea. Very grateful for your assistance, and for being so obliging.

Arrived yesterday evening. So far, so good. I have used the gym facility. It has a treadmill, crosstrainer, and a stationary bike. I couldn't use the bike as I couldn't lower the seat. It would have been nice if some weights were there to use. Had breakfast mainly, lunch a few times and dinner. The bbq dinner was the best. There was entertainment at dinner most nights. The pool and whirlpool are excellent. For my birthday I was given a glass of mimosa at dinner from the manager. Some guess and staff sang happy birthday to me. 😍 Also, in the morning, I was given a non alcoholic bottle of wine and a flower I asked for. 😅 Thank you so much for making my day special. Myself and daughter would like to say thank you for making our holiday for my 60th special. Our 10 days flew by. We had so much fun and laughter in that time. You guys are amazing. Until we meet again. I highly recommend this family run hotel.

This hotel is unforgettable once discovered. Our 18 day stay was incredible. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, the rooms are clean, the food was excellent as well. Beautiful views. Highly recommend this gem of a property! We will be returning in the future!

Great location, about 20m from the airport, lovely beachfront with other beaches to explore within walking distance. Taxis are very easy as the hotel is on the main road. Decent restaurant at the hotel, with local options located across the road & within walking distance, surfers cafe is recommended. Customer service was excellent 👌🏼 Room was clean & comfortable, highly recommended!

For a taste of bajan hospitality this is the place to stay. Located right on the beach. With the bar and restaurant terrace giving uninterrupted views out over the turquoise Caribbean sea. The staff are superb and the premises are spotlessly clean and well maintained. It's the sort of hotel where you return year after year. An added bonus is a +50m swimming pool (in addition to lounging pool/jacuzzi pools) to get some laps in if the sea is too choppy. Highly recommended! 🌴😎

Hotel very quiet, no evening entertainment as advertised, would love to hear music around the pool, even when requested was told speakers are there but not working, staff did not appear happy, asked to hold onto our towels or a fee would be levied, found this unhygienic as there were towel bins around the site which we used, and some of our holiday party were unable to get a towel due to a shortage, restricted in taking sun beds onto beach, just a few points made re my visit for the week, my joy of that week was hanging out with my girls and meeting some fabulous guests staying here

Place is right next to a very popular spot on fridays called “oistins fish fry”. Hotel mad nice in front of the water. The jacuzzis are not hot tubs, so don’t expect those to be warm. Other than that food is great and everything is easily accessible for the most part. Be nice and receive kindness! No complaints

Visited for lunch, which was lovely, right on the beach with an amazing ocean view, obviously! The menu wasn't huge, but you had a fair choice & I ordered a bajan lemonade, which wasn't on the menu, but they were very obliging and made one for me. It was also nice that the restaurant wasn't full (probably due to the time of day), so we didn't have to wait and was served straight away. One thing to be wary of is that they don't accept cash! Card payments only! They have a gift shop in the foyer, which looked good (from the outside). The foyer was very quiet too. I'd definitely go back for lunch, even dinner. The prices were extremely reasonable.

I bought 2 nights here by way of silent auction just before Christmas 2022 - and won ☺️ so husband and I organized our weekend to be free of activities and work related stuff so we could relax at Butterfly Beach Hotel. While the hotel itself is a little dated, the room itself was clean, AC worked well, and we were also put along the adult side pool which is good for swimming (it’s long and narrow) and was nice and quiet and away from children. Our lunch on Saturday was great and Jennifer, our waitress was so very lovely. She gave good recs and we all shared some laughs. Our bartender made margaritas with Cointreau which is a huge deal. They weren’t too sweet either which was great! Thanks to the bar and resto staff for their nice service:) Our only concern was some complaining from staff earlier in the morning close to our door. They weren’t happy about something we could tell. But it woke us up and we decided to go eat some breakfast and then enjoy the rainy/sunny day by the pool. All in all, Butterfly is in a great location. Waterfront, close to Grocery, laundromat, a few bars to it’s east, and Oistin Fish market and foodery.

Wow what a fantastic week we had. From check in to check out. Everybody was helpful, polite, and busy. Thank you to all staff, from cleaners to security and car park sweeper. Pool areas kept immaculate tables and areas regularly cleaned. Check in easy, hotel has a lift. Thanks to all, hopefully see you all next year. 😘

We just had lunch at this budget hotel near Oistins and very nice it was too. My wife loved her combo basket of Bajan fishcakes, curried samosas and mozzarella sticks, which was plentiful and delicious. My catch of the day wrap was also superb. Staff were pleasant and helpful and the view of the Caribbean from the Reef restaurant was beautiful. In fact, we loved it so much we decided to book to stay here next year.

The worst kind of humanitarian aid I have ever experienced. I'll give it a zero if I could. My family were dropped off at the Butterfly hotel after going on a Catamaran cruise. My wife was sick coming back on the bus because of the heat and had some vomit on her clothes. We asked if she could use the restroom to change her clothes but was refused with no compassion or sympathy. We had to walk home with vomit on her clothes! The hotel did not even offer her some water or assistance outside. I am going to let everyone know that this hotel only cares about money and not people. I have travelled many places but have never ever experienced this kind of treatment! I would not trust this hotel even if I was dying whilst staying there or was dying in the street. It's a total disgrace from any hotel.

Enjoyed our stay. Informal hotel with delightful staff. The rooms are well equipped with the opportunity to self cater or to use the hotel amenities. The sea is accessible and the pool facilities very adequate. Impressed.

Had a lovely time at butterfly beach hotel for two weeks. Great front desk staff warm and welcoming. Some of the reef restaurant staff have a chip on there soldier but the fish cakes and onion rings was excellent for a lunch snack. We had troubles with our bathroom leaking but after moved to another which was cleaned but smelt of smoke so they finally upgraded us to the bottom floor with our own loungers which was thankful because certain people have to have certain loungers at the front with umbrellas everyday so there towels are there without fail at 6:30 onwards. Give someone else a chance will you. Hotel policy said they will remove towels if not being used but I did not see this happen once which was a shame. But besides that a beautiful beach and a lovely room and a bottle of rose wine waiting for us also a lovely rum punch for partners birthday which was a lovely touch. Also got to mention shontel Belgrade who works in the restaurant who does a lovely cheesecake for special occasions. Well worth the money. Just ask at front desk for shontel. We will be back .

Just back from Butterfly Beach Hotel, the hotel is excellent, extremely clean, food fabulous. Staff are all so lovely, cant do enough for you. I would recommend to anyone. I had an ocean view room, it was lovely. This hotel is about 10 min walk to Oistins, reggae buses passing constantly to take you anywhere. All in all if you book this hotel it wont disappoint. I will definately be back soon! Thanks Butterfly Beach, see you again soon!

The staff are amazing very polite, professional and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. They decor is a little tired and a few simple things would make all the difference like a broom and pan in your room and a shower shelf for your shower gel etc. The rooms are cleaned everyday and the maintenance staff are hard working individuals who keep everything spotless. The location is great right on the beach but I think the hotel could provide more entertainment. The sundeck is underutilised and that's a shame, especially in the evening. The food is good but be mindful as everything is charged to your room so pay your bill everyday or be in for a shock. Overall very happy with our stay.

The hotel is nice and clean. I enjoyed having the kitchenette it came in handy as I was able to prepare breakfast for my son staying at a nearby hotel! I do find that the front office staff can be more engaged. Me being a hospitality professional I believe in within eyeshot you acknowledge. They were not the most welcoming or approachable. I also did not realize I did not have a porch which was really weird. Im not sure if that was my fault overlooking when I booked. I did not use the restaurant so don’t have an opinion. So far I would return this is my fourth night of a seven day stay!

Our entire experience here was 5 star. From the gorgeous food to the amazing staff!. I want to thank John, for being a joy and a real treasure, Jennifer, for being so sweet and wonderful, Deborah, Donna, Tashara, Deshawn for being attentive and beautiful. Also, Jackie- Jackie we adore you. And Cato is adorable & gorgeous. All of the staff here made us feel so happy. The room was amazing, the food was outstanding, the service was five star!!! My experience at Butterfly was perfect and there were absolutely no faults. The staff here are a huge asset to Butterfly and I would recommend anybody to come and stay here. The beach is beautiful! We will CERTAINLY be back.

Butterfly Beach hotel is welcoming, cosy and nice place to stay. The staff members were all so friendly during my stay and I would highly recommend this hotel. Such a peaceful place with a beach right at your doorstep with two swimming pools and some Jacuzzis what more could you ask for. The food was delicious and having that seafront view just made it worthwhile. With entertainment in the evening and happy hour I couldn’t ask for anything more. I would 100% come here again, I’ve never met such friendly staff that were so helpful. There’s even a gift shop inside the hotel too with beautiful souvenirs. Great location too as it wasn’t too far from St. Lawerence Gap or Oistins Fish Fry. Thank you so much!!

Spent a few days with my mother here and was underwhelmed by our stay, the receptionists always seemed annoyed when we had questions and called their friends instead of real taxis for us which always ended up costing way more than normal taxis. The food was great but we had to constantly flag down staff whenever we needed anything though they seemed to always be paying attention to the other white guests (we are not white). There is nothing to do on the resort itself after 6pm as the hot tubs were closed. I would suggest staying at another hotel if you want to not feel like you’re constantly annoying staff.

Great Hotel and location on a beautiful beach. The grounds added to the quality.Staff were very friendly and efficient. Only problem was the food which was of poor quality luke warm and seemed to be cooked by domestic cooks and not quality chiefs. Sorry but I'm telling the truth. After three meals we ate out for the rest of the week. Something like this issue totally spoils the holiday. So it's a no from me to return in the future.

Great hotel. Such pleasant staff and a lovely honest atmosphere. Feels like proper Barbados (not a Disneyland style fake version you get at other hotels). Well connected for Oistins and the buses around the island. Loved it here.

Stayed here for 12 nights and was really pleased. We stayed in a mixed view room and could see the hottubs and sea from our room. We were on the first floor, which was lucky as that part of the hotel didn't have a lift, but this was advised when picking the room. Nice welcoming staff, who were all very friendly and helpful. The room was a good size and came with a small fridge and some plates, bowls and glasses. The bed was massive and very comfortable. The room was cleaned daily and towels, etc. replaced. Breakfast was nice, with a variety of local foods alongside breakfast staples like bacon, sausage, beans, and eggs. We hired a car separately, and there was always space in the carpark. The pool was nice. You can access the beach on both sides of the hotel. However, the sea is rough. A 20min walk/5 min drive to Oistins and lots of amenities within walking distance. Overall, it was a really nice stay at butterfly beach hotel.

Poor service in restaurant. John was wonderful. Two very chippy waitresses who behaved like they were doing customers a favour were such a turnoff we never ate there again. Cleaning staff were nice. Deb at the store was lovely. Grounds need maintenance and upkeep. No on the ground management to be seen so lots of phone use vs initiative by staff. Too bad as it's a descent location. Uncaptured potential.

It's a nice place indeed. Not luxury, but more than good enough for us. We have stayed there every year for almost 20 years. Nice and friendly staff. Located right on the beach. Large rooms. The only minus is its not too much restaurants and stuff in walking distance. We love it at Butterfly beach hotel. That's why we keep coming back.
