This resort is fantastic! The beach was incredible - no waves, clean water, and shade under the palm trees. All the staff is amazing- excellent service, and we were always greeted with a big smile. The food was delicious. Our room was clean, and we enjoyed the view and listening to the ocean daily - we had a Jr. Suite Ocean Front - totally worth paying a little extra! We enjoyed every single thing! I highly recommend Riu Palace Tropical Bay - Negril has a great vibe, and all the staff made our stay unforgettable- Thank you so much!

My wife and I went to celebrate our 10 year anniversary. Let me start of by saying the staff are amazing and work very hard to make sure you are having a nice time! The food was also very good! HOWEVER please check your mattresses and box springs. This morning my wife and I were bitten all over by bed bugs! This seems to be a problem that the management are aware of but are not doing ANYTHING about it! My wife spoke to one of the managers at the front desk (Andrew) who asked her if it wasn’t mosquito bites. As if we don’t know the difference!!! So please check your beds. Pull the flat sheets and look! They try to mask the smell of mold with bleach! A few people we spoke to also had the same issue!!

My first time in Jamaica. Check in process was great. Rooms are very spacious however I noted there we no elevators. This would have been good to know for my 82 year old mother. Recommend having elevators at least in the main lobby and if possible all the buildings. This would expand accessibility for those with limitations in walking. Beach is beautiful. Lovely calm waters. The worst part about this resort and the main reason we will not be returning is the management of the cuisine restaurants. I think there are 4 ( Italian, Steak, Japanese and Fusion). I have been to many resorts which restaurants like these. This hotel says its first come first serve. That means that if you want to eat at one of the specialty restaurants, you have to arrive at least an hour in advance and STAND IN LINE! It is the most exasperating process I have seen. I came to relax and have fun. Wasting an hour in line for a restaurant that you may or may not get into was at the very least frustrating. Oh.. the kicker. Most of the restaurants have cover over the waiting line. The steak restaurant does not. 30 minutes before the restaurant opened, it started to lightly sprinkle RAIN! Was there any contingency to mitigate everyone getting wet?? NOPE. This is experience of waiting in line vs other restaurants who have well planned reservation systems is an major failure. Every resort I have been to has a well planned system of reserving seats for a specialty restaurant. If the issue is that there is not enough seats for everyone at the restaurants, that is ALSO a failure in planning. Extend the hours, set up reservations in advance OR make the restaurants bigger. This resort could be SO much better if you fix this problem. Unfortunately, until it is fixed, we cannot return

The location is beautiful with calm water and long stretch of sandy beach. Perfect for kids and adults. The hotel needs some updates. A/C wasn't cooling down well. The service was generally good, with most of the staff being friendly and accommodating. Hostesses in specialty restaurants are almost rude. Enjoyed lobster at the steakhouse. The buffet is good too. Overall, it is good quality for the price.

RIU Palace Tropical is perfect for us; not huge, and overcrowded but great for romance and relaxing. The beach is the best; wide and expansive with shade trees for lots of room to spread out and have privacy. Not like some resorts that line up rows of lounge chairs side by side on the beach to pack in guests on top of each other. All staff was friendly and accommodating starting with Sammie Joe who checked us in to everyone thereafter. I wish I had gotten more staff names to acknowledge. We always get direct oceanfront rooms in building 4 or 6. This time we were in 6317. Plenty of free alcohol and drinks in room bar plus they offer room service. We use their fitness center too and had a couples massage. I hate to bring it up because everything else was amazing but we did have ants in our room. We didn’t request a room change because we discovered the ants after we had already unpacked and settled into the room so we did not want the hassle of packing up again to relocate to another room. But I’m sure the staff would have accommodated us if we had brought it to their attention. We just kept all food items in the refrigerator. We will definitely return!

Beach was great. Trilled I chose this location -rating of this location and hotel should be higher than what it is in Google. Hotel Riu Palace is in good condition not the newest though. I loved the location, great water and, swimming location is superb. One negative thing (not biggie) is that power outlets are 90% not workable in your room. Lucky if you can make one work in your room -same I heard from my friends. Restaurants are really good and I like first come first serve idea. However, the staff may need to be a bit more smiling not bad but it can get better. Lots of water sport activities. And you can always go to Riu Negril and use that facility. Entertainment is not something you want to miss at 9m local time. You would love it. People in Jamaica are in general very friendly. OneLove. You will not regret at Riu Palace. Will go back soon!

Lovely hotel resort on the best part of Bloody Bay beach. Super friendly staff everywhere. Excellent food in the buffet restaurant and steak restaurant. Huge cocktail menu. The beach is clean, the water crystal clear. The room is spacious and with modern interior. The garden is well maintained.

This place is amazing! Staff is beyond the best! Been to resorts before but never have had such nice staff. From the beach, to the pool to the hotel staff to even the amazing cleaning staff just the best! I saw reviews saying the food wasn't great. Honestly if you don't like something there is more than enough options to fill you up and be satisfied. I found the food great, yes some restaurants were a bit different but still good! I will visit again!

The food was amazing but the buffet was only available during certain times which makes it difficult to grab a meal in the middle in the afternoon. The pools were very nice and clean but they closed at 6 which meant no swimming in the evenings. Service was the best I have ever experienced with truly attentive and nice staff. The ocean view was spectacular with a nice sandy beach. The shows that were put on every night by the staff were entertaining and fun to watch. Highly recommend the steel orchestra preformers. Overall, was a lovely vacation with lots of opportunities to relax by the pool and beach.

Dear future guests, I would like to share a few things about this resort: 1. Food is average , you need to stay in a long line to get to a restaurant ( average waiting time 40 min before it opens), no reservations are available. 2. Beach is beautiful, ocean is calm , warm and clean, however there is a chance to see a big stingray swimming in a shallow water and we were never prepared / notified . 3. Room has not been cleaned every day and there is a big chance to remain without bathroom supplies.

The staff is amazing and make sure you are having a nice time! Our photographer Johnson did an amazing job with our sunset pictures. All of the food options were delicious. Service was excellent with attentive and nice staff. The pools were very nice and clean. The ocean view was spectacular. Our rooms were spacious and clean. The hotel itself is very clean. The shows that were put on every night by the staff were entertaining and fun. We will definitely be returning!

Service is excellent. Rooms are nice and spacious and clean. The hotel is cleaned constantly. Food was regular all inclusive type food (plentiful and lots of variety, maybe not the most gourmet but still good). Pools were nice too. It’s not a large resort but we loved that it was a manageable size. we came with a large group and walking around we would always find some friends around. Good for kids too. Bubbles, the woman running the kids activities, is awesome. So friendly and remembers all the kids names each day. They do fun kids shows and games. The beach was very clean and clear and gorgeous. We walked over to the other riu and the beach there was not as nice. Would come back here again.

Among the best food we ever had at an all inclusive, if not the best. Lots of facilities, things to do and enjoy. The beach was also fantastic. It's not on the 7 mile beach but it sure felt like it. Clean and pretty. Otherwise the rooms were pretty average, they had regular pools nothing awesome, and their spa is small with no hydrotherapy, sauna or steam room. Regardless I guarantee you will enjoy your stay there!

Great first trip to Jamaica. A family trip with 18 year olds. They found their own entertainment, but this is more for adult relaxation. Highly recommend for enjoying time at the beach - a gorgeous beach - and good food. The dining room attendants and buffet chefs were my favorite people. The care they put into learning their guests is top tier! I will return to the property, especially since I didn't take advantage of the opportunity to check out the other resort that's included.

Beautiful beach, clean resort. Minimal entertainment/music even during the day, food was mediocre at best and seems the entire resort shuts down by midnight. Resort seemed very commercialized to a certain demographic omitting most of the essence of Jamaica. Wasn’t the worst place I’ve vacationed but I wouldn’t go again.

Fantastic place. Great staff. Looked after us. Plenty to eat and drink. A whole load of things to do. Tours. Boating trips Including snorkeling and jumping off cliff into the sea. Something for everyone. Children are well taken care of and provided with entertainment. It rained for about a hour and a half a couple of the days, but that didn't spoil our enjoyment. Would go back in a heartbeat. We got picked up from the airport and taken to the hotel. πŸ‡―πŸ‡²πŸ‘πŸΏβœˆοΈ

Our visit here was mostly fine, with two major exceptions: 1. We found and reported cockroaches in the self-service food area 2. On an peculiarly cold night my girlfriend pulled the provided blanket from the shelf in the closet and had a bag of used syringes fall on her Unfortunately BOTH of these incidents were ignored by staff. I complained immediately to my travel agent who forwarded to her contact at Riu. The icing on the cake is that their response was to offer a $100-off coupon for our next stay...Yeah, there won't be a "next stay" but thanks anyway

My name is Jasmine I'm calling but the line is busy. I'm calling in reference to Ms. Pleasant not being treated properly and as though she didn't pay money to have a room and she's been in the room with her sister. I'm not sure what the problem is but I'll be contacting your manager or your corporate manager. It's Ms. Pleasant 50th birthday and she should be treated as such.

I'll share the good and the bad. Good: Food and Drinks were top tier. Very flavorful food and a ton of options. Drink options were great and delicious. Views were great. Nice pools. Bad: The rooms are due for some major upgrades. The cleanliness of the rooms were poor. Our room smelled like they used old Mop water everyday. Our sink drain was clogged. The latch on our balcony door was broken. The mattress was not clean at all. It was gross once I took a look under the sheets. They also have a complicated process for beach towels. Even with the wrist band and your hotel key, they require you to have a towel key too. It was silly.

The resort was smaller but we loved it. The beach was large and beautiful. The food was great in all the restaurants and the buffet. The event staff was amazing at keeping everyone from all ages engaged, was incredible. Grey, the bartender was the best and Judith worked so hard and was sweet and gracious getting us poolside drinks. Entertainment was great. Only thing we were disappointed in was some of the staff in dining areas and bar areas were very unfriendly which surprised us. The ones that were amazing completely made up for it. The housekeeping staff was friendly and great. Turndown service was extra special touch. Our refrigerator was stocked everyday. We have stayed at a lot of all inclusive resorts and nobody has ever been consistent with refilling drinks in our room. Top notch.

I cannot say enough great things about this resort. I was with family & friends for a wedding. The hotel has beautiful rooms, restaurants, bars and lounge areas. The beach was phenomenal. The staff in all areas were beyond amazing. The activity staff were particularly awesome & so much fun!! There was always something going on during the day and night! I really loved the silent disco night with 3 DJs & the synchro swim show but all the performances were top notch.

Lovely hotel and staff are very friendly and extremely helpful. The rooms could have been a bit better, too damp, and the plumbing needs improvement. Food needs to be more authentic, Jamaican πŸ‡―πŸ‡² . Mr Julian I believe was the general manager of the hotel was extremely helpful and a wonderful man he catered to our group & any request for my husband's birthday we celebrated on the resort . Mrs Sophia, the hotels entertainment organizer for special occasions, is also a very lovely lady ❀️ and was extremely helpful with a wonderful personality. She made the preparations easy before & after our arrival for our event. The front desk manager who checked us in was also amazing πŸ‘. Love all of our main buffet staff, especially breakfast .

A lovely hotel in a fantastic location, just paradise. All staff were helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Entertainment was great and with a choice of 3 pools, there was something for everyone whether you like lively or quiet and relaxing. Also the food was amazing. Will definitely stay here again

We have visited this resort several times. It's been our favorite location for several years. This year was different. The staff is amazing. They work very hard and always have a smile. The resort no longer offers Blue Mountain coffee or Appleton Rum. Waiting in line for 1 to 2 hours to get into a restaurant, just takes beach time away. After waiting you are then told "sorry, we are full". They need to go back to reservations. Other than these issues, it's still a fabulous resort.

We just got home two days ago, and wish we were still in Jamaica! The Riu Palace was excellent. Servers remembered our names (4 of us travelled together), and engaged with us daily. Judith at the pool was super sweet, remembered what we each drank, and was always walking by to ensure we had whatever we needed. The resort is immaculate, and every day something was being cleaned, raked, swept, etc. We are not fans of buffets, but this buffet was hands-down, fantastic! So many choices, and so delicious. Our rooms were immaculate, cleaned every day with toiletries replenished, and refrigerator restocked daily. The nightly turndown service was a lovely surprise. We highly recommend this resort!!!!

We were very happy with our stay at the resort. The staff were friendly, the food was amazing, and the beach was well kept and beautiful. The rooms had some plumbing issues but were otherwise good. Entertainment was also amazing and we looked forward to it every night. The resort did close down at midnight, so it was a quieter spot to stay.
