There is a dispute over the claim where Sree Chaitanya was originally born. Most of the locals claim this is the original birthplace. Place is nice, calm and quiet, but can be cleaned a bit. Overall a nice place.

Birthplace of Sri Chaitanya Dev. Now this place is located in Nabadwip and the area is called Prachin Mayapur. According to the locals this place is the old Mayapur or Prachin Mayapur that was formed by Sri Chaitanya Dev and his birth place was also in Nabadwip and not in Mayapur. The place is very old but maintained well by the temple committee. The temple is along the river bank and the ghat is a distance walk only. The Neem tree is huge and gives the place a cool weather with its shade.

Beautiful place to visit. They have their own cowshed and provide pure cow milk to whoever wanted it on monthly or daily basis. They don't maintain any records, whoever take the milk will need keep track and pay at the end of the month. I could see the honesty of the people that is quiet rare these days.

The birth place of Shree Chaitanya Mahaprabhu is a glory of Nabadwip Dham. It is a very peaceful place to visit. You can come to this place both from Nabadwip Dham station and Bishnupriya station by a toto. Every evening harinam sankirtan is performed here in front of many audiance. You can also buy religious books and other things like tulsi garland here. If you are in Nabadwip must come to this place once.
